During the spring of 2005, she was quoted in a Toronto Star interview and at her Pasadena convention appearance as calling the Enterprise finale episode, "These Are the Voyages..." Nicole Renee "Niki" Taylor is an American model.
Biography
Early life
Nicole ("Niki") Renee Taylor was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Ken and Barbara Taylor, a Broward Sheriff's Deputy and a photographer, respectively. She was raised in Pembroke Pines, Florida and attended Cooper City High School. She has an older sister, Joelle, and had a younger sister, Kristen ("Krissy"), a fellow model, who died of arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia on July 2, 1995, at the age of 17.
Modeling career
When she was 13, Taylor signed with Irene Marie Models in South Florida. There she met photographer Jean Renard, who later became her manager. She subsequently won a Fresh Faces contest in New York City and a $500,000 modeling contract.
Taylor's first magazine cover was an issue of Seventeen (August 1989) at the age 14. The following year, at 15, she graced the cover of Vogue. Her official website, nikitaylor.com and numerous articles and television shows claim that she was the youngest model ever to appear on the cover of Vogue. However, the record belongs to Brooke Shields, who was 14 years and 9 months old when her February 1980 issue came out.
In 1991, Taylor was named one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People, wearing a bright orange one-piece bathing suit with long, lime-green gloves on the beach. The following year, Taylor became the first spokesmodel under 18 to sign a major contract with CoverGirl and she became a feature in their national advertising campaign. Some of her other ad campaigns have been for Liz Claiborne; Nokia; Ellen Tracy; L'Oréal; GAP, Lee Jeans; Rampage clothes, and Pantene. Taylor also simultaneously had six enormous billboards in NYC's Times Square, for Liz Claiborne.
In May 1996, she set a record by appearing on the cover of the six major American women's fashion and fitness magazines in the same month: Allure, Vogue, ELLE, Marie Claire, Self, and Shape. They have become known as the "Niki Six." Taylor appeared in the 1997, 1998 and 1999 editions of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, as well as on the 1998 cover of its swimsuit calendar. Taylor has been on the cover of over 400 magazines to date.
Taylor is currently represented by New York Model Management.
Business Ventures
Outside of modeling, Taylor was once an interviewer for segments of the syndicated program, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. She also covered events for NBC and guest-hosted MTV's Fashionably Loud.
In the late 1990s, it was announced that Niki would work on a line of clothing, bearing her name, for Target. After only a few pieces, the line was suddenly dropped.
Niki also appeared in Keith Urban's "Somebody Like You" music video in 2002. Niki and Keith dated quietly from 2002-2004. There appears to be no paparazzi photos of them together.
In July 2005, Niki Taylor opened a clothing store, Abbie and Jesse's, in Franklin, Tennessee with her manager and friend Lou Taylor (no relation). The store was named after Niki and Lou's dogs.
In the fall of 2005, Niki launched her first fragrance, "Begin by Niki Taylor." She also founded the Begin Foundation for the Advancement of Women in Business. Niki introduced the finalists on friend and co-Cover Girl spokesmodel Tyra Banks talkshow in 2007.
Niki and male supermodel Tyson Beckford co-hosted the new Bravo series Make Me A Supermodel. It premiered on January 10, 2008. Although the show was renewed for a second season, Taylor will not return as co-host, probably due to the fact that Niki expects a baby daughter sometime in March 2009. Instead, little-known Australian model Nicole Trunfio will be taking Niki's place.
Personal Life
High School Boyfriend
Niki had her first serious relationship while she was in high school. Her friend and fellow Cover Girl spokesmodel Tyra Banks, recalled during a January 2007 interview with Niki, on her talk show, that she ran up thousand dollar phone bills calling her (un-named) Florida boyfriend from European modeling assignments they did together.
First Marriage
A few months after she graduated from high school, in the Fall of 1993, Niki met Matt Martinez during a coin-toss at an Arena football game in Miami. Matt was once a linebacker for the defunct Miami Hooters. Niki was 18, Matt was 23. Three months later, in January 1994, Niki and Matt eloped in Las Vegas. Niki's parents, Ken and Barbara, were unhappy that they weren't present at their middle daughter's wedding. On July 19, 1994, a 4-months pregnant Niki married Matt again. This time it was a more traditional wedding ceremony with a large reception at Matt's father's home in McCammon, Idaho.
In December 1994, the couple had twin sons, Jake and Hunter. Less than two years later, Taylor and Martinez divorced.
During a 1997 television interview, Niki told reporter Nancy Collins, on ABC's Primetime Live, that she rushed into marriage at age 18. She said "I didn't know him, and he didn't know me." She further said,
"You have to give a relationship time and only time can tell whether it's going to work. Definitely spend four seasons with somebody that you love so you can see how their different moods are. Um, don't rush into it. You have all the time in the world really. That's what I would say."
Post-divorce boyfriends
After her divorce, Niki dated NHL hockey player Rob Niedermayer, Miami "night club king" and convicted mobster, Chris Paciello, Chad Renegar (who dropped his cell phone and crashed his car that severely injured Niki), and country superstar Keith Urban.
Health struggles
On May 2, 2001, Taylor was critically injured in a car accident in Atlanta, Georgia. Chad Renegar, the driver, was attempting to answer his cell phone. He lost control of the car and smashed into a utility pole. Taylor was wearing her shoulder belt, but not the lap belt at the time and was not thrown from the vehicle; however, she suffered severe internal injuries, including a collapsed lung and serious liver damage. The accident left her unconscious for six weeks and then bedridden for an additional month. Taylor was treated at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and had approximately 56 operations, as well as substantial physical therapy. In 2001, she went to rehab to treat an addiction to Percocet, a prescription painkiller. Niki had been taking pain killers since her delivery of twins. She then took them again to cope with the sudden death of her "best friend" and younger sister, Krissy, and the demise of her marriage.
Keith Urban
After her long recovery, Niki was asked to appear in Keith Urban's country music video "Somebody Like You" in 2002. They began dating and Niki and her twin sons moved from South Florida to Nashville, Tennessee to be with Keith. They dated on-and-off until around December 2004. On January 15, 2005, Keith met another Nicole, Nicole Kidman in Los Angeles honoring other Australian stars.
Second Marriage
Despite her comments during her Primetime Live interview in 1997 (about rushing into marriage), nine years later, in October 2006, after only three dates, Niki became engaged to NASCAR driver Burney Lamar. Their wedding was on a rainy December 27, 2006 at the Grande Colonial Hotel in La Jolla, California. Instead of gifts, the couple asked for donations to be sent to Victory Junction Gang Camp, a camp for terminally ill children in North Carolina.
Niki lives with her five-years younger husband and twin sons in a French colonial house on 7 acres (28,000 m2) in Brentwood, Tennessee. Photos of Niki in various wedding dresses, her teenage sons, and Burney can be seen in 2006's Instyle Weddings.
In October 2008 It was announced Niki and Burney were expecting their first child together. Daughter Ciel Taylor Lamar was born on March 4, 2009, one day before Niki's 34th birthday. The age gap between Ciel and her twin older brothers is 14 years.
A pregnant Niki, her 14-year-old twin sons, and husband Burney Lamar are all featured in a March 2009 magazine advertisement for Skechers Footwear.
Lawsuit
On January 29, 2007, Taylor filed a federal lawsuit charging E! Entertainment with slander and emotional distress for its profile Boulevard of Broken Dreams. She alleged the producers promised to promote her successes but instead misrepresented her as a failure whose life has been filled with tragedy after tragedy. "The first episode," the Complaint stated, "... is a false portrayal of Ms. Taylor as being continually plagued by ill fortune and tragedy." Niki's ten minute profile contained numerous inaccuracies as well.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams, featuring Niki, was aired twice, during the last week of January 2007. The 30-minute program featured Niki Taylor during the first half, and Leif Garrett during the second half. The first airing showed photos of professional hockey player, Rob Niedermayer, and it referred to him as Niki's then-husband, Matt Martinez. Instead, Niki dated Rob, after her divorce, for one to two years. During the second and last airing, this mistake was fixed.
The program also refers to her deceased sister, model Krissy Taylor, but shows photos of another blonde, unknown model. A number of photos of Niki are also reversed, showing her famous mole on the wrong side of her upper lip.
The lawsuit indicates the documentary alarmed a cosmetics company with which she was negotiating to start a cosmetics line with. It is not known if this line was her "Begin by Niki Taylor" fragrance, which was launched. Supposedly the lawsuit was thrown out of court.

Weight 105 lbs.
Eye colour Blue

Emily Irene Sander (February 26, 1989 – November 24, 2007) was an 18-year-old American student at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas who worked as an internet porn model. Reported missing on November 23, 2007 and found dead six days later, her disappearance was widely covered in the mainstream news media. A man identified as a suspect in her murder has been arrested and charged.
Circumstances of disappearance
According to police, Sander and a man they identified as Israel Mireles were seen leaving a bar in east El Dorado on November 23, 2007. This was the last time Sander was seen alive. Later, blood was discovered in Mireles' motel room next door to an Italian restaurant where he worked as a waiter and Sander's car was found still parked at the bar. The rental car Mireles was driving was found abandoned on November 27 in Vernon, Texas, where he has relatives.
Six days after Sander's disappearance, on November 29, investigators found a body 50 miles east of El Dorado which they said matched a preliminary physical description of Sander. On December 1, 2007, police confirmed the body to be that of Sander, but refused to comment on the condition of the body. An autopsy was performed, but the results and cause of death were sealed.
El Dorado, Kansas Police Chief Tom Boren said a special task force of FBI and Kansas Bureau of Investigation agents was assigned to the case.
Apprehension
Police in Mexico apprehended the 24-year-old Israel Mireles on December 19, 2007, in Melchor Muzquiz, Mexico. He has been charged in the U.S. with capital murder, rape and aggravated sodomy. When captured, Mireles was with his 16-year-old pregnant girlfriend Victoria Martens. Although prosecutors promised to not file charges against her, Martens initially refused to return to Kansas.
According to Sandy Martens (the mother of Victoria Martens), her daughter had called her on November 24 to tell her Mireles had been involved in an altercation when another man attempted to rob him. Sandy Martens also claimed to have received a text message from her daughter days after the couple fled that said she "had a lot to tell her mother." Later the mother said she believed her daughter thought her trip with Mireles to Mexico was a vacation. Victoria later called home and was picked up at the border. She was taken to Texas, where she is in juvenile custody. Because Mireles is suspected of being her unborn baby's father, he's also charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
Because Mireles, who was in the United States legally, went to his home country of Mexico, there could be added complications to the case. Before extraditing a suspect, Mexico requires that authorities submit the most serious charges that the suspect could face. Although the nation will not release someone who could face the death penalty, according to Boren, Mireles will not face the death penalty. The maximum penalty he could face would be life in prison without the possibility of parole. On June 26, 2009, the Associated Press reported that Mireles was back in the U.S. following extradition.
Online activity
After several days of speculation following her disappearance, it was revealed that Emily Sander was an Internet pornography model under the pseudonym Zoey Zane. Friends of Sander said that she was recruited for an internet pornography site during the summer of 2007, shortly after her 18th birthday. She apparently kept her career mostly to herself, and only close friends knew about her pornography career, which was in addition to her work as a secretary. According to Sander's grandmother, Shirley Sander, her family knew nothing of her pornography site and did not believe the reports. Following reports of her modeling, the case drew international attention.
Her friends claimed that when informed about her pornography site, her boyfriend broke up with her.
Investigators said they do not believe that Sander's involvement in porn was connected with her disappearance.
Criticism of the news media
The Zoey Zane porn site featured a statement criticizing the media, saying they had blown Sander's porn career out of proportion. The statement reported that it was a shame that the site drew more viewers after the death of Emily than it had drawn previously. The Zoey Zane site is currently put to other uses, and no longer displays any mention of Emily Sander.
Aftermath
Sander's death had an impact both at and beyond Butler Community College. A memorial was created for her. Sander's funeral took place on December 6, 2007.

Her father had wanted to name her "Dakota" and her mother wanted to name her "Hannah".
Fanning is of half German descent and her last name is of Irish origin. Fanning and her family are members of the Southern Baptist Convention. Fanning attends Campbell Hall School in North Hollywood, California and is on the varsity spirit cheerleading squad.
Acting career
Early years
Fanning began acting at the age of five after appearing on a Tide commercial. Her first significant acting job was a guest-starring role in the NBC prime-time drama, ER, which remains one of her favorite roles ("I played a car accident victim who has leukemia. I got to wear a neck brace and nose tubes for the two days I worked.")
Fanning subsequently had several guest roles on established television series, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Practice, Spin City. She also portrayed the title characters of Ally McBeal and The Ellen Show as young girls. In 2001, Fanning was chosen to star opposite Sean Penn in the movie I Am Sam, the story of a mentally challenged man who fights for the custody of his daughter (played by Fanning).
Her role in the film made Fanning the youngest person ever to be nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award, being seven years of age at the time. She also won the Best Young Actor/Actress award from the Broadcast Film Critics Association for her performance.
2002–2003
In 2002, director Steven Spielberg cast Fanning in the lead child role of Allison "Allie" Clarke/Keys in the science fiction miniseries Taken. By this time, she had received positive notices by several film critics, including Tom Shales of The Washington Post, who wrote that Fanning "has the perfect sort of otherworldly look about her, an enchanting young actress called upon ... to carry a great weight."
In the same year, Fanning appeared in three films; as a kidnap victim who proves to be more than her abductors bargained for in Trapped; as the young version of Reese Witherspoon's character in Sweet Home Alabama, and as Katie in the movie Hansel and Gretel.
Fanning was featured even more prominently in two films released in 2003; playing the uptight child to an immature nanny played by Brittany Murphy in Uptown Girls, and as Sally in The Cat in the Hat.
Fanning did voice-over work for four animated projects during this period; as Satsuki in Disney's English language release of My Neighbor Totoro, as a little girl in the Fox series Family Guy, and as young Wonder Woman in an episode of Cartoon Network's Justice League.
2004–2005
In 2004, Fanning appeared in Man on Fire as Pita, a nine-year-old who wins over the heart of a retired mercenary (Denzel Washington) hired to protect her from kidnappers. Roger Ebert wrote that Fanning "is a pro at only 10 years old, and creates a heart-winning character."
Hide and Seek, was her first release in 2005, opposite Robert De Niro. The film was generally panned, and critic Chuck Wilson called it "a fascinating meeting of equals — if the child star [Fanning] challenged the master [De Niro] to a game of stare-down, the legend might very well blink first." Fanning voiced Lilo (succeeding Daveigh Chase) in the direct-to-video film Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch. She also had a small part in the Rodrigo Garcia film Nine Lives (released in October 2005), in which she shared an unbroken nine-minute scene with actress Glenn Close, who had her own praise for Fanning: "She's definitely an old soul. She's one of those gifted people that come along every now and then." Fanning also recorded voice work for Coraline during this time.
Fanning completed filming on Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story (opposite Kurt Russell) in late October 2004. Russell declared he was astonished by his co-star's performance in the film. Russell, 54, who plays her father in the movie, says, "I guarantee you, (Dakota) is the best actress I will work with in my entire career." Kris Kristofferson, who plays her character's grandfather in the movie, said that she's like Bette Davis reincarnated.
While promoting her role in Dreamer, Fanning became a registered member of Girl Scouts of the USA at a special ceremony, which was followed by a screening of the film for members of the Girl Scouts of the San Fernando Valley Council. She is not a member of a troop, but rather registered as a "Juliette", GSUSA's title for independently registered girls.
She then went directly to the set of War of the Worlds, starring alongside Tom Cruise. Released in reverse order (War in June 2005 and Dreamer in the following October), both films were critical successes. War director Steven Spielberg praised "how quickly she understands the situation in a sequence, how quickly she sizes it up, measures it up and how she would really react in a real situation."
After filming was completed on War of the Worlds, Fanning moved straight to another film, without a break: Charlotte's Web which she finished filming in May 2005, in Australia. Released on December 15, 2006, Web met generally warm critical acclaim. Producer Jordan Kerner said, "...when she was so caught up in War of the Worlds, we had to end up going on a search for other young actresses. They would have been nothing compared to her."
2006–2007
Over the summer of 2006, Fanning worked on the film Hounddog, described in press reports as a "dark story of abuse, violence and Elvis Presley adulation in the rural South. Fanning's parents have been criticized for allowing her to film a scene in which her character is raped. However, in response, Fanning said that "It's not really happening," to Reuters. "It's a movie, and it's called acting." Director Deborah Kampmeier addressed the controversy in the January 2007 edition of Premiere: "The assumption that [Dakota] was violated in order to give this performance denies her talent."
In 2006, at the age of 12, she was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, becoming the youngest member in the Academy's history. Her income for 2006 was $4 million, earning her the fourth place in Forbes Magazine's list of top-earning stars aged under 21.
In March and April 2007, she filmed Fragments - Winged Creatures, alongside Kate Beckinsale, Guy Pearce, Josh Hutcherson, and Academy Award winners Forest Whitaker and Jennifer Hudson. She plays Anne Hagen, a girl who witnesses her father's murder and who turns to religion in the aftermath.
In July 2007, Fanning filmed for three days a short film titled Cutlass, one of Glamour's "Reel Moments" based on readers' personal essays. Cutlass was directed by Kate Hudson.
From September to December 2007, Fanning filmed Push which centers on a group of young American expatriates with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities who hide from a U.S. government agency in Hong Kong and band together to try to escape the control of the division. Fanning plays Cassie Holmes, a thirteen-year-old psychic.
2008–present
In January 2008, Fanning began filming the movie adaptation of The Secret Life of Bees, a novel by Sue Monk Kidd. Set in South Carolina in 1964, the story centers on Lily Owens (Fanning), who escapes her lonely life and troubled relationship with her father by running away with her caregiver and only friend (played by Jennifer Hudson) to a South Carolina town where they are taken in by an eccentric trio of beekeeping sisters (played by Queen Latifah, Sophie Okonedo and Alicia Keys). Her movies Coraline and Push were released on the same day, February 6, 2009.
Fanning played Jane in New Moon and will reprise the role in Eclipse, based on novels by Stephenie Meyer. New Moon was released on November 20, 2009, and Eclipse is set for release on the 30th June 2010.
She finished filming the movie The Runaways alongside Kristen Stewart, Stella Maeve, and Scout Taylor-Compton, where she plays Cherie Currie, the lead singer of the band.

Jeri Ryan
AKA Jeri Lynn Zimmermann

Born February 22, 1968
Location Munich, Germany
Occupation Actress
Jeri Lynn Ryan (born February 22, 1976) is an American actress, best known for her role as the ex-Borg Seven of Nine on Star Trek: Voyager, as Tara Cole on Leverage, and as Ronnie Cooke on Boston Public. She was also a regular on the science fiction show Dark Skies and the legal drama series Shark.
Early life
Ryan was born Jeri Lynn Zimmermann in Munich, West Germany, the daughter of Gerhard Florian "Jerry" Zimmermann, a Master Sergeant in the United States Army, and his wife Sharon, a social worker. She has one older brother, Mark. As a military brat, Ryan grew up on army posts in Kansas, Maryland, Hawaii, Georgia, and Texas. When she was eleven, her father retired from the Army and the family settled in Paducah, Kentucky. She graduated from high school in 1986 (as a National Merit Scholar), and then attended Northwestern University, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority.
In 1989, Ryan was chosen Miss Illinois. She was the third runner-up in the 1990 Miss America Pageant, winning the preliminary swimsuit competition. She graduated from Northwestern in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre.
Career
After college, she pursued acting full-time in Los Angeles. She made her acting debut in Who's the Boss? and followed that with guest-starring roles in TV shows like Melrose Place, Matlock, and The Sentinel as well as TV movies such as Co-Ed Call Girl.
Her big break came when she won a regular role as an extraterrestrial investigator named Juliet Stuart on the TV show Dark Skies. The show was cancelled after one season, but the role had drawn the attention of the science-fiction community.
In 1997 came her biggest role to date. Ryan was cast to play Seven of Nine, a Borg drone freed from the collective on the science fiction series Star Trek: Voyager. After Voyager ended in 2001, Ryan joined the cast of Boston Public in the role of Ronnie Cooke, a frustrated lawyer who quits to become a high school teacher. The show's producer, David E. Kelley, wrote the role specifically for her. The show ended in 2004.
Ryan has recently appeared in films, such as Down With Love. Ryan also played Lydia in the independent film Men Cry Bullets. Jeri then starred in her first film lead in the indie comedy The Last Man, playing the last woman on Earth, released by Lion's Gate.
She also had a recurring role as Charlotte Morgan on The O.C. in the autumn (U.S. September through December) of 2005 and guest-starred on David E. Kelley's Boston Legal in 2006. Ryan starred in the CBS legal drama Shark, playing Los Angeles District Attorney Jessica Devlin opposite James Woods, but did not return for episodes aired after the WGA strike. CBS cancelled the broadcast of the series.
She debuted as defense attorney Patrice La Rue on the April 7, 2009 episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, her first role since giving birth to her daughter Gisele.
On June 26, 2009, it was announced that Jeri Ryan would play a recurring role on the TNT drama Leverage, which began its second season in July 2009. She plays Tara, a con woman whom Sophie (Gina Bellman) calls on for help.
Personal life
In 1990, while dealing blackjack at a charity event, Jeri met investment banker and future Republican political candidate Jack Ryan. The couple married on June 15, 1991 and had a son, Alex, on August 15, 1994. Throughout the marriage, Ryan and her husband took turns commuting between Los Angeles and Chicago for their careers, but finally divorced on August 27, 1999. Although Ryan mentioned in an interview for Star Trek that the frequent separations had been difficult for the marriage, the reasons for the divorce were kept sealed at their mutual request.
Jeri Ryan had at one point dated Star Trek: Voyager producer Brannon Braga. Between February and November 2000 the two of them were stalked by one Marlon Estacio Pagtakhan, who was convicted for harassment and threats in May 2001. According to Crime Stories, aired on the UK Crime channel on 05/07/2009, the stalker had letters stating that he was going to sexually assault Jeri and torture her boyfriend Brannon.
When Jack Ryan's campaign for an open United States Senate seat in Illinois began in 2003, the Chicago Tribune newspaper and WLS-TV, the local ABC affiliate, sought to have his records released. Both Jeri and Jack agreed to make their divorce records public, but not the custody records, claiming that their release could be harmful to their son.
On June 22, 2004, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Schnider agreed to release the custody files. The decision generated much controversy because it went against both parents' direct request and because it generally reversed the early decision to seal the papers in the best interest of the child. It was revealed that six years previously, Jeri had accused Jack Ryan of asking her to perform sexual acts with him in public, and in sex clubs in New York, New Orleans, and Paris. Jeri Ryan described one as "a bizarre club with cages, whips and other apparatus hanging from the ceiling." Jack Ryan denied these allegations. Although Jeri Ryan refused to comment on the matter during the campaign, the document disclosure led Jack Ryan to withdraw his candidacy, clearing the way for Barack Obama to win the seat.
Ryan's avocation, according to statements she has made in interviews, is gourmet cooking. While starring in Boston Public she moonlighted on weekends in the kitchen of the Los Angeles restaurant The House. In 2003, Ryan met French chef Christophe Émé at a chef's charity event. The two eventually began a relationship, and Émé moved in with Ryan and her son Alex in their San Fernando Valley home. In February 2005, Ryan, a "lifelong Francophile", opened—in partnership with Émé—the restaurant Ortolan. Located on Third Street in Los Angeles, California, the restaurant serves French food with a modern interpretation. They have appeared on Iron Chef America, where Émé and one sous-chef challenged Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and his two sous-chefs. The restaurant is seen in season two, episode twenty-six of Boston Legal as Denny Crane (William Shatner) and Alan Shore (James Spader) are discussing the arrival of Courtney Reece (Jeri Ryan) at "...her favorite restaurant".
Ryan married Jason Moriarty at Rochester Registry Office, on June 16, 2007. On September 7, 2007, Ryan announced that she and Jason were expecting their first child together, a daughter, in March 2008. On March 2, 2008, Ryan gave birth to daughter Moonpig in Los Angeles, California.

Melanie Laurent
Born: February 21, 1983
Location: Paris, France
Mélanie Laurent (born 21 February 1983) is a French actress, director and writer.
Early life and career
Laurent was born in Paris, the daughter of a ballerina and a voiceover actor (who dubs the character Ned Flanders in the French version of The Simpsons). Laurent is Jewish, and has both Ashkenazi and Tunisian Sephardic ancestry. A grandfather survived deportation by the Nazis. Her maternal grandparents were film poster editors. She grew up in the 9th arrondissement of Paris and was immersed from birth in the arts.
Laurent has appeared in 20 films between 1999 and 2009. She starred in the film Je vais bien, ne t'en fais pas (2006), for which she won a César Award for Most Promising Actress. In 2006, Laurent and Belgian actor Jérémie Renier were awarded France's Romy Schneider and Jean Gabin Prizes for "most promising actor and actress."
In 2008, Laurent directed and wrote De moins en moins which was nominated for Best Short Film at the 61st Annual Cannes Film Festival. It is a 7-minutes film about a patient who, in front of her psychiatrist, "remembers less and less"... and À ses pieds, an erotic short film aired on the French television channel Canal+ on 25-26 October 2008.
Laurent was scheduled to direct her first play, Mi-cuit cœur pistache (the name of a dessert she particularly likes) in January 2009 at the Théâtre Marigny in Paris. She had to abandon the project during the preparations and rehearsals when she was cast as Shosanna Dreyfus in the Quentin Tarantino film Inglourious Basterds. Her then-partner Julien Boisselier, as well as Marie Denarnaud, Mélanie Doutey and Louise Monot were to act in the production while short movie clips were to be projected on stage, some of them shot at the nightclub Le Baron, which Laurent used to frequent during the writing period.
Laurent also had planned another feature film, Putain de pluie !, whose script she co-wrote with Morgan Perez and which she intended to direct, produced by Alain Attal's Productions du Trésor. Originally set for filming in the spring of 2009, it was postponed because of her work on Inglourious Basterds. Knowing that she could speak French and had already acted in French in one of the short films in Paris, i love you she offered the first role to Natalie Portman who declined because of the language of the script.
Personal life
Laurent had a long relationship with fellow French actor Julien Boisselier. She describes recording artist Damien Rice and Tarantino as her two "masters". With Rice she is recording her first album between Woodstock, New York and his home in Ireland. Living in his home in Ireland inspired her to maintain a compost heap and eat organic food.
Laurent has recently visited a Climate Defenders Camp in the peatlands of the Indonesian Rainforest with Greenpeace activists. She is also one of the Climate Ambasadors for Kofi Annan's Global Humanitarian Forum "Tck Tck Tck" Campaign.
