Brooke Shields got an early start in modeling when her mother, an aspiring actress, signed her up for an Ivory Snow commercial when she was only eleven months old. Her mother was reportedly so afraid of crib death that she bound the sleeping Brooke to her body at night with a cloth before going to sleep. The mother-daughter team didn't seem to be much farther apart for the next 30 years.
In 1978 a barely adolescent Shields played a child prostitute in Louis Malle's Pretty Baby with Susan Sarandon as her mother. Audiences were sufficiently disturbed by Shields's nude scenes that she spoke before a Congressional inquiry, testifying that some of the most scandalous scenes had been filmed by older body doubles. Nude pictures of Shields, taken when she was 10, surfaced when she was 15, and mother and daughter sued to have them suppressed. The court decided the contracts were in order and deemed the photos "art".
Shields captured the essence of the virgin-whore, as she famously proclaimed "Nothing comes between me and my Calvins", yet filmed commercials warning teen girls against the perils of too-early sex. In 1980's Blue Lagoon, the movie for which the teenage Shields is probably most famous, her hair was reportedly glued to her breasts to prevent them from showing. In her autobiography, On My Own -- written at 16 -- Shields stated her intention to abstain from premarital sex. Reportedly her contract with her publisher required her to remain a virgin for a specified number of years after publication of the book. She received Golden Raspberry Awards as Worst Actress for Blue Lagoon in 1980, and Speed Zone in 1989. She was also nominated for Endless Love in 1981, and Sahara in 1984.
Following her entrance into Princeton in 1983, Shields concentrated primarily on her studies and didn't do much modeling or acting. She graduated with honors, then launched her comeback in critical and commercial flops like Brenda Starr. In 1995 she fired her alcoholic mother as her manager, and her career was quickly revived by starring in the sitcom Suddenly Susan. It ran for four seasons. She has appeared on stage in Chicago and starred in Broadway revivals of Cabaret and Grease.
She has a scarred cervix from surgery to remove pre-cancerous cells, and has suffered through at least five miscarriages. In 2003, after the C-section birth of her daughter Rowan Francis just three weeks after the death of Shields' father, she was leveled by a serious round of postpartum depression which left her suicidal and uninterested in baby Rowan. She has since recovered, and written a book about postpartum depression called Down Came the Rain.

Shauna Grant
AKA Colleen Marie Applegate

Born: 30-May-1963
Birthplace: Bellflower, CA
Died: 21-Mar-1984
Location of death: Palm Springs, CA
Cause of death: Suicide
Remains: Buried, Saint Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Empire, MN
Gender: Female
Religion: Roman Catholic
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Pornstar
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Killed herself with a .22 rifle
Father: Phil Applegate
Mother: Karen Applegate
Boyfriend: Mike Marcell
Boyfriend: Jake Ehrlich
Slept with: Tom Byron
Slept with: Ron Jeremy
Slept with: Herschel Savage
Slept with: Joey Silvera
Slept with: Marc Wallice
Born in Bellflower, California, Applegate grew up in the small town of Farmington, Minnesota. Her family moved there from California in 1973 when her father took a managerial position with Central Telephone Company of Minnesota. She was a cheerleader in high school. Applegate graduated from Farmington High in 1981, but eschewed her job as a repair clerk with the phone company. Later that year she consumed a handful of prescription sinus pills in a suicide gesture; sessions at a counselling center did not provide much assistance for her. Applegate ran away from home and moved to California in March 1982, accompanied by her high school sweetheart, Mike Marcell. She left behind her parents, a brother, and three sisters.
Adult industry
The couple arrived in Los Angeles, California. Applegate and Marcell looked into a number of jobs in the first month. Little came of this until one of them saw an ad for World Modeling, an agency in Van Nuys. This business diligently sought attractive new recruits for "figure modeling." Accompanied by Marcell, Applegate visited agent Jim South, who set up a photo session with photographer J. Stephen Hicks. The pictorial's theme featured a mock camping set and was to be published by Club. Hicks reflected on Applegate's appearance and personality, saying "I deal with a lot of girls who are new in the business, a lot of young girls and a lot of girls from out of town. Colleen was so incredibly young and naive. She was completely un-hip and non-L.A." Her wholesome, "girl next door" looks soon landed her work posing for other magazines such as Hustler and Penthouse.
As Shauna Grant, she made a number of popular adult movies, more often plot-oriented than "wall-to-wall sex." One such movie was Suzie Superstar, in which she plays the lead singer of a rock band. By industry standards, Grant was early in her career when it suddenly came to an end. In a filmed interview, she said that she "wasn't ready" to try anal sex, which usually marks a starlet rather than a star. She also did only heterosexual scenes; most porn actresses also do lesbian scenes.
Applegate's relationship with her boyfriend did not endure two months in California, as Marcell joined the U.S. Army. Before his induction he informed his family that Applegate had become a nude model. Soon she progressed to filming "hardcore" scenes for Suze Randall. Veteran porn producer Bobby Hollander launched Applegate's movie career and suggested what he felt was a "classy" stage name, Shauna Grant. As a fast-rising adult film personality she was featured in Virginia, Suzie Superstar, and Flesh and Lace, among many others. Her pay rose from $300 a day to nearly $1,500. Off-screen she traveled in limousines and stayed in first-class hotels. Grant was provided with her own make-up artist, Laurie Smith, age 27. Her popularity earned her three acting nominations at the March 1984 Erotic Film Awards. Despite her beauty she had some difficulty getting work due to her cocaine addiction and lack of "enthusiasm" during sex scenes. In some circles she acquired the nickname "Applecoke" and gained a reputation for being flaky.
Retirement
In 1983, Grant retired from the adult film industry after less than a year and just over 30 movies. She disliked the industry, although she regarded Joey Silvera well. Through Hollander she found a new boyfriend, Jack "Jake" Ehrlich, age 44. Ehrlich had "eased her out" of adult films and the two settled in Palm Springs, California. He owned a leather goods store, Pelle, in downtown Palm Springs, which Grant began to manage. According to Palm Springs Police, Ehrlich made his living supplying cocaine to tenants of an upscale condominium park close to his house. He had compiled an extensive record of arrests in California which included such offenses as selling narcotics and possession of stolen property. In the summer of 1983, Ehrlich was sentenced to a five-year prison sentence which he began serving in the State Institution for Men in Chino, California. The charges related to Ehrlich's 1981 arrest for possession of what detectives described as "several" pounds of cocaine.
Grant was ambivalent about her circumstances following her boyfriend's conviction, which cut off her drug supply. Her desire for work in mainstream films was not working out, so she committed to work on her first adult film in months. Matinee Idol was due to begin filming in a few days in San Francisco, California. Grant persuaded her friend and veteran porn actress, Kelly Nichols, to take the role which was intended for her. Shauna also had the option of returning to Minnesota. Grant's parents offered to pay for her college expenses, but she believed she would no longer be comfortable at home in Minnesota.
Death
On March 21, 1984, Grant committed suicide at age twenty in Palm Springs by shooting herself with a .22 caliber rifle. Shortly after 7 p.m. she lay down, placed the gun horizontally against her head, and pulled the trigger. The shot passed through her right temple, out the left and into the bedroom wall, according to police reports. The gun was discharged from such close range that the bullet left virtually star-shaped holes. Brain dead, Shauna was rushed to Desert Hospital, where life support systems were disconnected after two days.
Grant's funeral was held March 28, 1984, at St. Michael's Church, a Catholic parish near the center of Farmington. Members of the adult industry were absent from the ceremony, believing their presence would only exacerbate the family's anguish. Instead they contributed both flowers and letters. Grant was buried in her favorite color, pink.
Preliminary investigations by Palm Springs police posed questions regarding the circumstances surrounding Grant's death. Weeks after the event, police were still awaiting results of toxicological and gun-residue tests. The possibility of a foul play investigation hung in the balance. It is known that Grant had received threatening phone calls that related to her boyfriend's business affairs. Also, detectives noted Ehrlich had avoided jail for some time by providing authorities with information. At the time of Grant's death there were two people playing pool in Ehrlich's house, Brenda Rosenow, a friend of Colleen's, and Cal Ardigo, a friend of Ehrlich's. Shortly before Grant's shooting, two unidentified visitors showed up outside the home. The back door of Ehrlich's house was a possible means of access to the bedroom and to Grant.
Grant's career and death were fictionalized as the basis for a television movie called Shattered Innocence, a film that bears little resemblance to her actual life. Her parents used their proceeds from selling the rights to the movie to fund Grant's tombstone.

Born: May 28, 1977
Location: Cranston RI
Spouse: Tim Hasselbeck (July 6, 2002 - present)
Children: 2 children, One daughter, One son
Elisabeth Hasselbeck (née Filarski; born May 28, 1977) is an American television host and television personality. She was a contestant of Survivor: The Australian Outback and is a current co-host on the United States daytime talk show The View.
Early life
Elisabeth DelPadre Filarski was born in Cranston, Rhode Island. She is the daughter of Catholic-school teacher and lawyer Elizabeth DelPadre and architect Kenneth Filarski. She has one brother, Kenneth Jr, a judge and aspiring musician. As a child, she lived in Providence and Cranston, Rhode Island.
Hasselbeck was raised Catholic and attended St. Mary School in Cranston, followed by St. Mary Academy - Bay View in Riverside, Rhode Island where she graduated in 1995. She then attended Boston College where she captained the women's softball team for two seasons. With a concentration on large paintings and industrial design, Hasselbeck graduated with a Fine Arts degree in 1999.
Hasselbeck started working for Puma in 1998, while attending Boston College. After graduation, she worked for Puma shoes as a member of its design team before her television career . She traveled to Italy and Belize. Reports differ as to whether her travels were for researching Puma products or to teach in Belize.
Television Career
Survivor and early career
In 2001, Hasselbeck was cast in Survivor: The Australian Outback, and was originally a member of the Kucha tribe. She was the last remaining member of that tribe in the game before being voted off on Day 39 and finishing fourth overall. As her luxury item, she brought a self-made immunity headdress.
In 2001, Hasselbeck was a judge at the Miss Teen USA Pageant. From 2002 to 2003 she hosted the Style Network's The Look for Less where she helped find stylish clothes for bargain prices.
The View
In the past, Hasselbeck has been open about owing much of her career to the influence of her husband's family, particularly her father-in-law, Don Hasselbeck. Although Hasselbeck previously saw herself as a "behind the scenes" kind of person and not interested in career television, or playing pundit, her agent was eager to showcase her competitive client and she auditioned for The View. In 2003, Hasselbeck was one of a number of women who guest-hosted to replace outgoing The View co-host Lisa Ling, who left the show at the end of 2002.
Hasselbeck typically represents the conservative position on The View. However, Hasselbeck has said that she calls herself neither a conservative nor a liberal. Her parents had an independent political stance, never telling their children for whom they voted. She has stated that the term "conservative" does not define her as a person.
When Presidential candidate John McCain appeared on The View on September 12, 2008, she openly expressed her intent to vote for him. On October 26, 2008, Hasselbeck appeared at Republican rallies in Florida, introducing Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
Controversies on The View
Hasselbeck has been involved in a number of heated political debates on The View, including but not limited to:
On August 2, 2006, Hasselbeck got into a heated debate in which she strongly opposed the Food and Drug Administration's plan to sell the "morning after pill" as an over-the-counter drug. Hasselbeck stated, "I believe that life begins at the moment of conception." She said the over-the-counter distribution of the pill should be banned even in cases of rape and incest, because "life still has value." Hasselbeck argued that advocates of the drug use the "rape or incest" exception as a "bait-and-switch" distraction from the goal of making it universally accessible. She argued if the "rape or incest" exception was all advocates cared about, they would not support its over-the-counter status.
On May 23, 2007, Hasselbeck was involved in a heated on-air argument with co-host Rosie O'Donnell concerning the war in Iraq, which she supports and O'Donnell opposes. When O'Donnell rhetorically asked, "655,000 Iraqi civilians dead. Who are the terrorists?" O'Donnell was criticized by conservative commentators for her question and she (O'Donnell) complained about Hasselbeck's unwillingness to defend O'Donnell's statements in the controversy that followed. Hasselbeck responded, "Defend your own insinuations" and responded that she shouldn't have to defend anyone else's words for them, especially when that person has a forum with which to present a defense.
On May 23, 2007, actress Alicia Silverstone was a guest on The View. Moments before Silverstone entered, hosts Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck had the aforementioned heated argument regarding the Iraq war. The video segment shows Silverstone entering and walking past Hasselbeck to greet the other hosts. Though the interview continued normally and featured easy conversation between Silverstone and Hasselbeck, Access Hollywood deemed the act a deliberate snub. Hasselbeck later stated on the September 19 2007 episode of The View that Silverstone called and apologized for the incident. Hasselbeck said that Silverstone never meant to be rude, but was simply nervous when she walked on the stage and believed that incident was wrongly perceived by the media.
On October 3, 2007, Hasselbeck and The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg got into a discussion about Senator Hillary Clinton's proposal that the US Government provide a $5,000 savings bond for each child at birth. The conversation became heated when Hasselbeck stated it would lead to fewer abortions due to women wanting to keep the money.Personal life
On July 6, 2002, Filarski married her college boyfriend Tim Hasselbeck; quarterback in the NFL. The couple has a daughter, born in 2005, and a son born in 2007. The couple are expecting their third child in August 2009.

Helena Bonham Carter

Birthplace: London, England
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White

Nationality: England
Executive summary: Marla in Fight Club
Father: Raymond Bonham Carter (banker, d. 2004)
Mother: Elena Propper de Callejon (psychotherapist)
Brother: Thomas Bonham Carter (soldier)
Brother: Edward Bonham Carter (banker)

Boyfriend: Tim Burton (cohabited since 2001)
Son: Billy Ray (b. 6-Oct-2003, with Tim Burton)
Helena Bonham Carter was once known for art films, including Merchant-Ivory's A Room With a View and Howard's End, and Zeffirelli's spin on Hamlet. She has more recently taken less artsy roles, playing the self-help addict in Fight Club with Edward Norton and Brad Pitt, and as a chimp in Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes. Bonham Carter may look like an ethereal English Rose, but she cusses, smokes, arm-wrestles. She has suffered through depression, undergone psychotherapy, and underwent a self-described "mid-life crisis" at 35. She is now the happily unwed mother of a young son with Burton.
She was born the youngest child of an English banker and his thoroughly mixed wife, who was half French, with a soupcon Jewish, Russian, Viennese, and Spanish. Bonham Carter's grandmother was Lady Violet Bonham Carter, a famous socialite, orator, and politician. Her great-grandfather was Prime Minister Lord Herbert Henry Asquith. Her cousin is British stage actor Crispin Bonham Carter. When Bonham Carter was five, her mother had a nervous breakdown. When she was 13, her father suddenly went deaf in one ear, then suffered a stroke during surgery and was paralyzed on one side and confined to a wheelchair. As her older brothers were already in college, only Helena remained at home to help with her father's care.
At thirteen she won a poetry contest and used the 25 pound prize to buy a listing in a British casting guide. Her first job was as Juliet in a radio ad for electronics, and she worked often in local theater as a teen. At 17, she played an Edwardian ghost in a British television movie called A Pattern of Roses. As union rules allowed only one non-union member in be cast, an unknown Hugh Grant, who was also not a union member at the time, was bumped from the movie to make room for her. After several corset-and-bustle film roles, Bonham Carter applied to attend Cambridge University, but, fearing she would drop out at midterms to make another film, she was turned down.
She played Don Johnson's junkie ex-fiancée in a few 1987 episodes of Miami Vice in 1987, and played a stripper in Dancing Queen, another British TV movie. In 1993 she won a Golden Globe for playing the widow of Lee Harvey Oswald in an American TV movie, Fatal Deception.
In 1994, while filming Frankenstein with Kenneth Branagh that she had her first highly publicized romance. While Branagh and his then-wife, Emma Thompson, went through a difficult breakup, Bonham Carter provided succor for Branaugh, an affair that lasted for five years. Bonham Carter reportedly lived with her parents until she was 30, when she moved in with Branagh. She was Oscar-nominated for her role as the scheming Kate Croy in The Wings of the Dove, which included Bonham Carter nudity and a sex scene. She lost the award to Helen Hunt, but accepted the loss with a joke, saying, "I'd won for the first two syllables."
Her affair with Branaugh ended in 1999, and in 2001 Bonham Carter made movies with two more of her real-life leading men. In Novocaine, she played a patient who seduced her dentist (Steve Martin), into prescribing drugs for her. In Planet of the Apes, she played a chimp who fell for Mark Wahlberg, while Bonham Carter herself fell for the director, Burton. At the time, he was engaged to Apes co-star Lisa Marie. Burton and Bonham Carter have been together since, and both frequently appear in public looking uncombed and unkempt. Rather than living together, he bought the house next to hers and they broke a hole in the wall. Their son, Billy Ray, was born in October of 2003.

In 1996, Monaco sent nude modeling photos of herself to Playboy and in April 1997 she became the Playboy Playmate of the Month. Throughout her tenure with Playboy in the 1990s, Monaco was also featured in many Playboy Special Edition publications.
She was a booth babe for Eidos Interactive at the 1999 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, California.
She was featured in the November 2005 issue of Playboy, however the pictorial consisted of previously unpublished photos from her Miss April 1997 shoot.
Temporary return to modeling
After moving on from Playboy in the 1990s, Monaco has significantly distanced herself from Playboy, possibly as a move to "clean up" her image. More recently, Monaco has made numerous cover appearances in other lad mags such as FHM and Maxim magazine. Along with her Maxim feature in 2005, the magazine also awarded her 13th place on their annual Hot 100 List in May 2006.
Relationships
Kelly has been rumored to be single for several years because of her solo appearances at public events. She says that for the past 15 years, she has been dating her childhood sweetheart, Michael Gonzalez. On a recent interview on The View, she stated that as a 31-year-old woman, she is in no rush to get married; she feels as if she already is.
Acting
Her first television role was on the nighttime drama Baywatch from 1997 to 1998. In addition to playing the role of Susan on the show, Monaco also was Carmen Electra's body double at times, as Electra could not swim. Monaco also had minor roles in the late 1990s-films BASEketball, Idle Hands, and Mumford.
Monaco had two roles on the supernatural television soap opera Port Charles: Olivia “Livvie” Locke Morley (1999–2003) and Tess Ramsey (2002–2003). When that program ended, she joined the cast of soap opera General Hospital as con woman Samantha “Sam” McCall in September 2003.
In 2003, Monaco was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role on Port Charles. In 2006 Monaco was again nominated for a Daytime Emmy, this time for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Sam McCall on General Hospital.
Dancing with the Stars
In Summer 2005, Monaco appeared as a contestant in the highly-rated American version of the television series Dancing with the Stars. Despite her perceived lack of height and an initial lack of grace, she improved each week and became a popular underdog. In the quarterfinal round samba, she coolly recovered from a mid-dance wardrobe malfunction without becoming exposed on live national television. On July 6, 2005, Kelly Monaco won the Dancing With The Stars competition.
This was viewed by some as an upset, whereas others suspected ballot-box stuffing, a frequent complaint of Internet-based voting. This was discussed briefly on a Larry King Live interview with several members of the show, but was not pursued by runner-up John O'Hurley, who took the high road and declared that participation and viewer popularity were more important to him than winning. However, it was decided to have a "Dance-Off" special as a follow up to this controversial result, with a presumably lessened chance of Internet voting skewing the results. It was held "live" on September 20, 2005 and results were announced two days later. This time, O'Hurley and his dance partner Charlotte emerged as the winners.
The win on Dancing With the Stars boosted her visibility level considerably and resulted in a number of appearances on talk shows as well as new job offers, but she stated that she intends to remain with General Hospital.

Tracy Brookshaw

AKA Miss Apocalypse, Tracy Brookshaw, Tracy, Traci, Tracy Brooks, Traci Brooks, Ms. Brooks

Born: May 22, 1975
Location: St. Marys, Ontario
Billed height 5 ft 4 in
Billed weight 127 lb
Resides Nashville, Tennessee
Tracy Brookshaw (born May 22, 1975) is a Canadian professional wrestler, professional wrestling valet and professional wrestling referee, better known by her stage name Traci Brooks. She is currently working for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), where she is head official for the women's division, known as "Knockout Law".
Early life
Tracy Brookshaw grew up on a pig and chicken farm in St. Marys, Ontario. In 2000, she won the Toronto Sunshine Millennium Calendar contest which led to her being named Miss June 2000 and interviewed in the Toronto Sun. Brookshaw went on to engage in promotional modeling work with the Molson, Labatt and Budweiser beverage brewers.
In her interview, Brookshaw said that she aspired to be "the next WWF Superstar". This led to her being introduced to Ron Hutchinson, a professional wrestler who operated the Sully's Gym professional wrestling school out of Toronto, Ontario. Brookshaw began training under Hutchinson in March 2000 and debuted in January 2001 as "Tracy Brooks".
In an October 2008 interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, Brookshaw revealed that she suffered from Erb's palsy as an infant. While she recovered, for the most part, due to aggressive treatment, she noted that she has impaired function in her right arm which affects her in the ring.
Professional wrestling career
Independent circuit
Brooks appeared with numerous independent promotions, including Border City Wrestling and the Apocalypse Wrestling Federation (AWF). During her time in AWF, she worked a program feuding with La Felina and was managed for a short time by Canadian hip-hop artist, Dan-e-o. On August 30, 2001, Brookshaw (as Miss Apocalypse) defeated Joey Knight to win the AWF heavyweight title. To this day, she continues to do work for independent promotions, including Blood, Sweat & Ears in her home region in Southern Ontario and, most prominently, NWA Cyberspace where she contends for the NWA Cyberspace Women's Championship.
Traci even wrestled in independent custom wrestling matches against wrestlers like Amber O'Neal and Christie Ricci.
Total Nonstop Action Wrestling
Early appearances
Brooks debuted in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling on April 30, 2003 in Catholic schoolgirl apparel, attacking Lollipop, a dancer who entertained the live audience during intermissions. The following week, Brooks demanded to be entered in a gauntlet match in which the winner would receive a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, threatening to sue National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) official Bill Behrens for sexual discrimination if he did not comply. When her threats failed, Brooks instead attempted to charm Behrens into allowing her into the match. Behrens then placed Brooks in a triple threat match with fellow female wrestlers Desire and Trinity, with the winner gaining entry into the gauntlet match. After Kid Kash ambushed Trinity and David Young accidentally punched Desire, Brooks won the match. Later that evening, she was attacked by Lollipop as she approached the ring to enter the gauntlet match. After she entered the ring, Brooks was quickly pinned and eliminated by Kid Kash.
On May 21, Brooks was paired with David Young in an "Anarchy Alliance" tag team tournament to determine the number one contenders to the NWA World Tag Team Championship. They defeated Kid Kash and Trinity on May 21 and Ron Killings (whose partner, Don Harris, had refused to team with him) on June 4, but lost to America's Most Wanted (Chris Harris and James Storm) in the finals on June 11.
On the June 18, 2003 TNA pay-per-view, Brooks formed an all-female stable known as "Bitchslap" with Nurse Veronica and Valentina. The stable quietly disbanded shortly thereafter when Veronica turned down a proffered TNA contract and Brooks was removed from television for repackaging.
Brooks has a TNA Figure created by ToyBiz, this being the first ever TNA Knockout figure made.
Michael Shane
Brooks returned to TNA on November 5, 2003, helping Shane Douglas defeat The Sandman. On November 26, Douglas and Brooks (known now simply as "Traci") helped Michael Shane defeat Sonjay Dutt. Following the match, the trio celebrated, and Douglas announced that they were to be called "The New Franchise".
The New Franchise began feuding with Triple X (Christopher Daniels, Low-Ki and Elix Skipper). The feud lasted until April 21, 2004, when Shane lost to Daniels after he passed up on a pinfall opportunity in order to try and hit his finisher. After Douglas admonished Shane, Shane began pushing and slapping his erstwhile mentor. Traci eventually grabbed Douglas from behind, enabling Shane to superkick Douglas. The following week, Traci helped Shane defeat Douglas in a singles match.
Traci continued to manage Shane, who was by now pursuing the TNA X Division Championship. Shane proved unable to defeat the incumbent champion, A.J. Styles, so he and Traci recruited Frankie Kazarian in order to maximize their numbers advantage. The result was a new stable/tag team that was known by fans as Shazarian. After several weeks of confrontations, Styles defended his title against Shane and Kazarian in a three way Ultimate X match on July 28, 2004. Though he was able to nullify the interference of Traci by giving her a Styles Clash, he was eventually knocked unconscious by the combined efforts of Shane and Kazarian. Shane and Kazarian then climbed for the X Division Championship, and simultaneously retrieved the belt, thus becoming co-champions. They lost the titles to Petey Williams in a Gauntlet Match on August 11.
In late-2004, Traci turned face by leaving Shane and Kazarian and becoming the assistant of the TNA Director of Authority, Dusty Rhodes. However, Trinity also wanted to be Rhodes' assistant, so he told each woman to recruit a new tag team. The teams faced one another at Destination X 2005 on March 13, 2005, with the winning team's manager becoming Rhodes' sole assistant. Traci's team (Don and Ron Harris, the Disciples of Destruction) defeated Trinity's team (Big Tilly and Bruno Sassi - Phi Delta Slam), making her Rhodes' assistant. Traci eventually left Rhodes' side and began managing Chris Sabin, who was feuding with Michael Shane and Trinity. At Lockdown on April 24, she tried to prevent Trinity from interfering in a four way X Division Xscape elimination match between Sonjay Dutt, Chris Sabin, Shocker and Shane. Her attempt failed when Trinity pushed her off the side of the cage and she landed on her bare feet, seemingly injuring herself in the attempt. This led to Trinity executing a Fall from Grace moonsault from the top of the cage and landing on top of Shane, Sabin and Shocker. Traci later got into the cage and engaged in a catfight with Trinity. The feud continued until Hard Justice on May 15, when Sabin and Traci lost to Shane and Trinity. In the course of the match, Traci turned on Sabin and Shane turned on Trinity, with Traci aligning herself with Shane once again and Trinity siding with Sabin.
Traci began managing Shane once again and stayed with him when he changed his name to his real name, Matt Bentley. When Bentley sat out during contract renegotiations in August 2005, she did some interview work for TNA. At Unbreakable on September 11, Traci acted as a backstage interviewer throughout the event. She returned to Bentley's side after his return at Unbreakable. In February 2006, Bentley turned heel and began a dispute with long time tag partner Lance Hoyt. Following the feud, Bentley was sidelined with an injury. Traci did promotional work for the company during the downtime.
On the May 15 taping of Impact!, she wrestled Gail Kim in the first woman's match in over a year. The match was taped purely for the forthcoming TNA Knockouts DVD and not for the Spike TV program. Kim gained the pin after interference from America's Most Wanted. At Hardcore War 2006 she defeated Kim with Christy Hemme as referee.
Managing Robert Roode
Traci was announced as Robert Roode's manager at Bound for Glory 2006 and changed her name to "Ms. Brooks". She managed him during the Fight for the Right Tournament at the October 28 Impact!. She lost to Eric Young in a bikini contest at Turning Point. After this, she was told to sign Young to a contract- no matter what it took to do it. In the storyline, Ms. Brooks began to pressure him into having sex with her. Finally, at Against All Odds Ms. Brooks successfully seduced Young into signing a contract with "Robert Roode Inc.". After sometime without a storyline, she entered a rivalry with Gail Kim and was defeated at an Impact! taping. At Slammiversary, she was taken out by Gail once again.
On the August 23, 2007 episode of Impact!, Roode wrestled Gail Kim, with Kim pinning Roode after a low blow leg drop. Following the match, Roode, unhappy at his loss, continued to attack Kim until Kaz came out to counter Roode. On the October 4 edition of Impact!, it was revealed that Brooks and Roode were not romantically linked, and that the only reason she continued to take Roode's abuse was to help her sick mother. Subsequently, on Impact! and at Genesis a female fan held up signs asking Roode to replace Ms. Brooks with her. Roode then joined the Angle Alliance with Ms. Brooks begrudgingly by his side.
At the Genesis pay-per-view on November 11, 2007, Traci fainted due to heat exhaustion, but appeared to be doing fine following help from medics. However, news reports have arisen that claim that her fainting was staged, as Brooks was asked to do so by Vince Russo.
Solo wrestling
At the January 10 Impact! tapings, Roode fired Ms. Brooks and replaced her with the female fan, identified by Roode as "Ms. Payton Banks." Shortly there after, Brookshaw reverted back to a crowd favorite and to her "'Traci Brooks" ring name and began feuding with Banks where she defeated Banks at the annual pay-per-view, Against All Odds. On the April 3 edition of Impact!, Traci defeated Payton Banks after a facebuster from the top turnbuckle. At Lockdown, She participated in the first ever "Queen of the Cage" match which was won by Roxxi Laveaux. At Sacrifice, Traci participated in the first ever TNA Knockout Makeover Battle Royal, which was won by Gail Kim. During the July 17 edition of Impact! a backstage segment revealed that Traci Brooks was in talks with Jim Cornette about something concerning the Knockouts. Soon after on the August 7 episode of Impact!, Traci was the special guest referee for a match between Roxxi and Jacqueline, in which Roxxi won. Since then Traci Brooks has been seen officiating TNA Knockouts' matches.
Knockout Law
In August 2008, Jim Cornette announced that Traci officially is in charge of the Knockouts Division also known as the "Knockout Law". Tracy is current on renegotiation with TNA. She last appearance in TV is on December 2008.

Yo, I'm sick of the lack of respect thatI get,
from these cats who think that they pose as a threat,
but they don't even know me,
yet they try and put me to the test,
thinking their on top of me, 'cause they got a bigger chest,
but I just sit back and let them guess,
half of wondering what I can do to them next,
they don't know what to expect,
I'm telling you now, it's not about success,
It's a fact we've all been blessed from the man upstairs,
but nobody cares, these people so quick to judge,
can't even walk the streets at night without being mugged,
how can one fight when homies getting slugged,
it's seems that we forget that he's watching us from above,
some dudes are heartless, that's why we have lost so many rap artists,
it's garbage, they never think of thier sons or daughters,
now they have to grow without a father to love,
god bless the memory of Tupac and Notorious Biggie Smalls,

CHORUSx2
It's time that some people started to show a little respect,
We all love it but we all represent,
We only have one life and we should live it to the end,
We should all have the opportunity to do our best

What's up with Hip Hop, it's like we gotta get props, give us some props,
it's gonna get dropped, it's a serious problem we got,
when there's lack of respect, leads to death by the sharks,
it don't happen in Australia yet, how long have we got?
before we all gotta be hardcore, when we start wars,
when beef jump off the boat, come to your streets and all,
when beefs knock on your door and force to the floor,
put a gun in your mouth, blow your brains out all over the wall,
cause we all want this respect, dont disrespect us,
it's like we all gotta prove that we the best, it just doesn't makes sense,
we all paranoid and stressed,
we aren't running from coppers, we run from each other instead,
how long before an aussie MC dead, when an old friend
gets this crazy idea in his head like you trying to test,
pulls out his weapons and uses them,
we gotta settle down before Hip Hip starts getting stupid man,

Sister: Marla Winger
Brother: Marc Winger (b. 1950, school superintendent)
Boyfriend: Nick Nolte (actor, dated 1981-82)
Boyfriend: Al Pacino (actor, dated in 1980s)
Boyfriend: Bob Kerrey (US Senator, dated from 1983-85)
Husband: Timothy Hutton (actor, m. 1986, div. 1990, one child)

Husband: Arliss Howard (actor, m. Nov-1996, one child)
Son: Gideon "Babe" Howard (b. 15-Jun-1997, with Howard)
At 17 Debra Winger was a troll at the Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park. One day, while changing into costume in the back of a truck, the truck unexpectedly moved, landing Winger on her head and in a coma for three days. Upon waking, she was partially paralyzed and in the opinion of doctors, permanently blind, but over the next ten months Winger's sight and bodily functions slowly returned.
Her first film was a 1976 sex farce called Slumber Party '57. A year later, she was Lynda Carter's kid sister on Wonder Woman. She had a major part in the foreign exchange comedy French Postcards, but much of Winger's role was edited out. Her first major role was in Urban Cowboy (1980) with John Travolta. She was swept off her feet by Richard Gere in An Officer and A Gentleman, and died in Terms of Endearment with Shirley MacLaine. She has been nominated for an Oscar three times.
Winger has always been blunt and outspoken, and by most accounts is considered difficult to work with. She was critical of co-star Robert Redford during and after filming Legal Eagles. While filming Leap of Faith with Steve Martin, she reportedly feuded with the director, with Martin, and with anyone else who came within earshot. Watching An Officer and A Gentleman, it would never occur to one that she despised Gere from their first day on the set.
The actress abruptly quit Hollywood in the mid-1990s, retiring to concentrate on raising her children. In 2002, Rosanna Arquette made a documentary about actresses over 40 who have struggled to find roles, including Daryl Hannah and Melanie Griffith. The film was titled, fittingly, Searching for Debra Winger. Since the documentary, Winger has occasionally acted again, with small roles in big-screen films and big roles in TV movies.

I have a thing with the camera. The lens is unconditional. It doesn't judge you

Krissy Taylor

May 15, 2007
Kristen Erin "Krissy" Taylor (May 15, 1978 – July 2, 1995)

Until the time of her death, she lived in South Florida with her parents, Ken and Barbara Taylor, and older sisters Joelle and Nicole ("Niki"), a fellow model. Growing up, she was an active visitor of the local roller-skating rink, a mascot and then cheerleader for the Optimist Club of North Dade, and from there her next activity was that of a fashion model, which started at the age of 13. Three years after her first photo shoot, however, she had grown to a lanky full 6 feet and was starting on a career of her own.
Modeling career
Early on, Taylor would go to shoots with Niki, and the clients and photographers took notice of her. They began to include her in photos with her sister, and even though they had very different personalities, their "look" seemed to go well together. In Milan, Italy, Taylor went to some of Niki's castings for the fall shows and the designers ended up fitting her, too. She was on the runways in Milan at 13, an amazing feat for a newcomer. After that, Taylor began getting calls to work solo.
Taylor was soon working up an impressive résumé of credits. She had worked with major magazines, such as Seventeen, ELLE, Italian Glamour, YM, Cosmopolitan and Vogue, and had over 13 covers to her credit. FOX and Walt Disney Pictures had requested her to read for upcoming features. She had appeared on Entertainment Tonight and MTV, and was featured on Who's HOT - Main Floor (a new show on fashion). Taylor didn't like to travel, so most of her bookings were limited to the Miami area. Time was not a plentiful commodity either because she had all intentions of completing high school and leading a normal teenage life.
Death
Krissy Taylor died unexpectedly on July 2, 1995. She had allergies that congested her upper respiratory system and she used Primatene to combat shortness of breath. The epinephrine it contains can cause cardiac arrhythmia, but it was impossible to prove she had taken any just prior to her death. The resuscitator was improperly used on her and found in her esophagus instead of the airway to her lungs. Later studies of tissue slides from her heart uncovered evidence of a rare heart disease called arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia.

I wake each morning to sunlight peeking through the blinds in my bedroom, only to realize it‘s another morning and Krissy is gone. Such a beautiful life—gone prematurely from the Earth.
God, how I wish she was still here.
All we are left with are wonderful memories of the love we shared as a family, and the ache within our hearts from wanting her back.
To my dearest Krissy: this one’s for you.

Mason's tenure with Traffic was disjointed. He co-founded the group, but left following the recording of their debut album, Mr. Fantasy (1967), only to rejoin halfway through the sessions for their next album, Traffic (1968), after which the band broke up. Last Exit (1969), a compilation of odds and ends, features little material by Mason apart from his song "Just For You." Traffic would later reform without Mason, although he briefly toured with the band in 1971 as captured on Welcome to the Canteen.
Mason was a good friend of legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix, whose career was launched in England in 1967. Hendrix first heard the song "All Along the Watchtower", by Bob Dylan, at a party he was invited to by Mason, and promptly decided to record his own version. That night he recorded the song at Olympic Studios, South West London, with Mason playing acoustic guitar. It was released on the Electric Ladyland album in September 1968. When the song came out as a single in October, it hit #5 on the UK Singles Chart and was a Top 40 in the U.S. Mason later recorded his own version of the song on his self-titled 1974 album, Dave Mason.
Mason appears on the Rolling Stones' 1968 album Beggars Banquet, although uncredited. Mason's connection was Jimmy Miller. Miller served as producer for the Stones and Traffic. In 1969-1970, Mason toured with Delaney and Bonnie and Friends along with Eric Clapton and George Harrison. Mason appears on George Harrison's 1970 solo set All Things Must Pass. In 1970, Dave was slated to be the second guitarist for Derek and the Dominos, but left the group before they entered the studio.
After Traffic, Mason pursued a moderately successful solo career. His first single Little Woman had Family backing him, following his production of Family's first album. In the mid-late 1970s, he toured and recorded with guitarist Jim Kreuger, keyboardist Mike Finnigan, bassist Gerald Johnson and drummer Rick Jaeger. The 1976 album, Certified Live is a display of Mason's songwriting, arranging, vocal and guitar talents. In 1977, Mason had his biggest hit with "We Just Disagree", written by Jim Krueger. Reaching #12 on the Billboard Hot 100, it was later successfully covered by country singer Billy Dean. Mason's 1980 single, "Save Me", was notable for featuring a duet with Michael Jackson.
For a brief period in the 1990s, Mason joined Fleetwood Mac and released the album Time with them in 1995.
In 2002, he released the DVD, Live At Sunrise (Dave Mason). It featured a live performance at the Sunrise Theater in southeast Florida, backed by Bobby Scumaci on keyboards; Johnne Sambataro on rhythm guitar (who rejoined Mason for the DVD, after previously touring with him in 1978); Richard Campbell on bass and Greg Babcock on drums.
At one time, Mason lived in the Ojai Valley in California. As of 2005, he is currently performing about 100 shows a year with the Dave Mason Band across the U.S. and Canada.

Birthplace: Los Angeles, CA
Gender: Female

Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Little House on the Prairie
Melissa Gilbert was nine years old when she won her signature role, playing Laura Ingalls Wilder on TV's Little House on the Prairie. She grew up in America's living rooms as the show continued for ten seasons, and she came to think of her TV father, Michael Landon, as a mentor and friend. She has said that Landon taught her to cry on cue, and in high school she briefly dated his son. During her teen years, she dated Tom Cruise, long before he became a superstar. To this day, Gilbert maintains that persistent rumors of Cruise's homosexuality are emphatically untrue.
At 15, she played Helen Keller to Patty Duke's Anne Sullivan in a remake of The Miracle Worker, and the next year she starred in a remake of Diary of Anne Frank. She played a rape victim in 1985's Sylvester with Richard Farnsworth, and found herself unexpectedly pregnant at 19 in the next year's teleflick Choices. She has become a staple of TV movies where she plays essentially "the victim", and for her work in this genre, she has been called Queen of the Lifetime Network.
She served two terms (2001-05) as President of the Screen Actors Guild. During her tenure her loudest political statement was to condemn filmmakers who took film production to cheaper venues in foreign countries. It was considered controversial, then, when she starred in a 2003 telefilm shot in Alberta, Canada.
Gilbert was adopted when she was a newborn. Her parents were both actors of limited renown; her grandfather, Harry Crane, was a vaudeville comedian who later wrote comedy for Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme.
In 1996, she sued the National Enquirer after the paper interviewed her ex-husband Bo Brinkman, and quoted him calling her "a deadbeat mother". In 1999, she and husband Bruce Boxleitner were sued after selling their house, which the buyer claimed was infested with rats and flies.

My whole life, my mother told me I would have SAG to fall back on. When I see a woman in her mid-40s or mid-50s working, I know it makes things better for me.

As I walk this land of broken dreams
I have visions of many things
But happiness is just an illusion
Filled with sadness and confusion
What becomes of the broken hearted
Who had love that's now departed
I know I've got to find
Some kind of peace of mind
Maybe

The roots of love grow all around
But for me they come a tumblin' down
Every day heartaches grow a little stronger
I can't stand this pain much longer
I walk in shadows
Searching for light
Cold and alone
No comfort in sight
Hoping and praying for someone to care
Always moving and going nowhere
What becomes of the broken hearted
Who had love that's now departed
I know I've got to find
Some kind of peace of mind
Help me

I'm searching though I don't succeed
But someone look, there's a growing need
All is lost, there's no place for beginning
All that's left is an unhappy ending
Now what becomes of the broken-hearted
Who had love that's now departed
I know I've got to find
Some kind of peace of mind
I'll be searching everywhere
Just to find someone to care

I'll be looking everyday
I know I'm gonna find a way
Nothing's gonna stop me now
I'll find a way somehow
I'll be searching everywhere

i know it's late
I know your weary
I know your plans don't include me
still here we are
both of us lonely
longing for shelter from all that we see
why should we worry
no one will care girl
look at the stars so far away

We've got tonight
who needs tomorrow
we've got tonight babe why dont you stay

deep in my soul
I've been so lonely
all of my hopes fading away
ive longed for love
like everyone else does
i know ill keep searchin even after today

so there it is girl
i've said it all now
and here we are babe
what do you say

we've got tonight
who needs tomorrow
we've got tonight babe why dont you stay

i know its late I know your weary
ohhhh I know your plans dont include me
still here we are
both of us lonely , both of us lonely

lets make it last
lets find a way
turn out the light come take my hand now
we've got tonight why dont you stay

we've got tonight

lets make it last
lets find a way
turn out the light come take my hand now
we've got tonight why dont you stay

The daughter of farmer/part-time musician William Pugh and his wife Mildred Russell, Virginia Wynette Pugh was born on a cotton farm in Itawamba County, Mississippi where she was quickly introduced to the harsh lifestyle of the cotton fields. Before his daughter's first birthday William died of a brain tumor, forcing Mildred to relocate to Birmingham, Alabama in order to find work at one of the factories producing airplanes for the Second World War; Wynette (or "Nettie", as she was usually called at the time) was left on the farm in the care of her grandparents, where she was put to work picking cotton by the age of 7. Throughout her pre-teen years, music -- whether gospel singing with her grandmother or the piano and guitar left behind by her father -- would provide young Nettie's only escape from the relentless tedium of her life.
During high school Wynette developed an interest in basketball, but singing and country music continued to be her primary passion. At the age of seventeen, just prior to graduating from high school, she married her first husband Euple Byrd, with whom she would have three childen before their divorce in 1966. Byrd's irregular employment made it difficult for the family to stay in one place for very long, and eventually landed them in a run-down log cabin that lacked any modern conveniences. During this period it usually fell to Wynette to provide an steady income by taking whatever blue-collar jobs she could find, ranging from waitressing to factory work. In 1963 she enrolled in a Tupelo beauty school and began work as a hairdresser, but soon afterwards she launched a parallel career as a nightclub singer in order to cover the medical bills of her third daughter Tina, who had become afflicted with spinal meningitis.
In 1965 Wynette's singing career received a moderate boost when she was given a regular spot on WBRC-TV's Country Boy Eddie Show, which would in turn lead to several appearances on Porter Wagoner's syndicated TV series. Her first marriage already over, Wynette then moved with her three daughters to Nashville in order to more effectively pursue a recording contract. After enduring several months of rejections, an audition for producer Billy Sherrill resulted in a contract with Epic Records in 1966; it was Sherrill who would concoct the stage name Tammy Wynette, the "Tammy" apparently inspired by Debbie Reynolds' character in the 1957 film Tammy and the Bachelor. Her debut single -- a Johnny Paycheck-penned tune titled Apartment #9 -- arrived near the end of 1966, providing the singer with her first country hit by early 1967. This was surpassed by her next release Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad, which found its way up to the number three slot later that same year.
In the summer of '67 Wynette's earned her first number #1 hit with her third single My Elusive Dreams. This level of success continued through the remainder of the 1960s, including three more number ones in 1968 (Take Me to Your World, D-I-V-O-R-C-E (a song also recorded by Dolly Parton) and Stand by Your Man) and two more in 1969 (Singing My Song and The Ways to Love a Man). After a brief marriage to country singer Don Chapel in 1967, Wynette entered into a heavily-publicized relationship with one of her music idols, George Jones, in 1968; Jones became her third husband later that same year, and during the seven years that their marriage endured the pair kept an active presence in both the charts and the tabloids. The first of the Wynette/Jones duets Take Me (1971) placed them in the top 10, while the subsequent single We're Gonna Hold On climbed up to the #1 spot in 1973. Jones' severe alcoholism ultimately led Tammy to divorce him in 1975, but their musical collaboration contined for years afterwards, producing popular singles such as Golden Ring (another #1, 1976), Southern California (1977) and Two Story House (1980).
Wynette's solo career remained strong throughout the 1970s, maintained by a regular output of #1 singles -- He Loves Me All the Way (1970), Run, Woman Run (1970), Good Lovin' (Makes It Right) (1971), Bedtime Story (1972), My Man (1972), Til' I Get It Right (1973), Kids Say the Darndest Things (1973), Another Lonely Song (1974), Til' I Can Make It On My Own (1976), You and Me (1976), and Near You (1977) -- as well as numerous entires into the top 10. She would marry twice more during the decade: first to real estate exec Michael Tomlin (a union which lasted for a mere 6 weeks) and then two years later to singer/songwriter George Richey. This fifth marriage would endure for the remainder of her life, with Richey assuming management duties for his wife's career.
In one of the most bizarre episodes of the singer's tumultuous life, not long after her fifth wedding Wynette was allegedly abducted from a Nashville mall and severely beaten. According to her subsequent report, a masked man was waiting in her car when she returned from shopping; after overpowering her, the man bound her hands and drove the car to an isolated stretch of road 80 miles out of town. This masked assailant then attempted to strangle her before forcing her out of the car and leaving by the roadside. No suspects were ever identified, and it was later suggested in Tammy Wynette: A Daughter Recalls Her Mother's Tragic Life and Death, a book written in 2000 by Wynette's daughter Jackie, that the abduction had merely been a story concocted in an attempt to conceal a severe beating that had in fact been administered by Richey.
In the 1980's Tammy Wynette's popularity experienced an inevitable decline, although the singer managed to make occasional appearances in the top 20 with singles such as Another Chance (1982), A Good Night's Love (1983), Talkin' To Myself Again (1987) and Your Love (1987), and her albums still usually placed in the top 50. Health problems that had emerged during the 1970s began to create a more serious obstacle to her ability to perform, while also further complicating her life by instigating an addiction to the pain medication Demerol. This addiction eventually became severe enough to warrant admission into the Betty Ford clinic in 1986. On top of these other difficulties, Wynette was forced to file for bankruptcy in 1988 as a result of an ill-fated investment in two Florida shopping malls. The decade was not entirely without it's positive elements, however, and between 1986 and 1987 she landed an recurring acting role on the network soap opera Capitol; the 80s albums Sometimes When We Touch (1985), Higher Ground (1987) and Next to You, while not quite rivalling the success of her earlier output, also demonstrated that her audience had far from deserted her.
The early 90s saw Wynette once again returning to the top of the charts -- although this time it was through the dance charts rather than the country charts. Justified and Ancient (Stand by the JAMs), a collaboration with the British electronic duo The KLF, found its way to the number one position in over a dozen different countries in 1992, both the song and its promotional video serving to indroduce the singer to a new generation of listeners. Her "comeback" continued the following year with the album Honky Tonk Angels, a project also featuring fellow country veterans Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn. Wynette's solo output resumed in 1994, the album Without Walls enlisting a diverse roster of guest performers that included Sting, Elton John, Aaron Neville, Lyle Lovett and Smokey Robinson.
Following the completion of Without Walls Wynette's health suffered a significant decline, culminating in a coma that lasted nearly a week. She managed to recover sufficently by 1995 to continue her musical activities, at which time she resumed her old partnership with George Jones for the album One and a series of live performances that continued into 1997. The decades of illness, surgery and medications ultimately took their toll, and on April 6th 1998 Tammy Wynette died from heart failure instigated by a blood clot. Her memorial service was given a worldwide broadcast three days later and included tribute performances by Lorrie Morgan, Wynonna Judd, Randy Travis and The Oakridge Boys.

Above all, I would teach him to tell the truth. Truth-telling, I have found, is the key to responsible citizenship. The thousands of criminals I have seen in 40 years of law enforcement have had one thing in common: every single one was a liar.

Rita Coolidge's early career was as a backing vocalist, for artists such as Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton, and Leon Russell. Her performance of "Superstar" on the Cocker/Russell Mad Dogs and Englishmen album helped gain her attention.
The Delta Lady
She became known as "The Delta Lady" and inspired Leon Russell to write a song of the same name for her. She is also the "sweet little Indian girl" mentioned in David Crosby's song "Cowboy Movie" released on his album If I Could Only Remember My Name. It was during this time that she met Kris Kristofferson; the two married in 1973. With him, she recorded several duet albums which sold well, and earned them a Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1974 for From the Bottle to the Bottom, and in 1976 for Lover Please.
Solo career
She had several solo hit singles during the late 1970s with cover versions. Her first hit, "(Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher and Higher," a cover of the Jackie Wilson song, was also her highest seller, reaching number two on the U.S. charts in 1977. She followed that with Boz Scaggs's "We're All Alone" which reached number seven later that same year.
Other hits were "One Fine Day" (written by Carole King and a hit for the 1960s girl group the Chiffons, "We're All Alone" (originally recorded by Boz Scaggs and also covered by Frankie Valli), "I Don't Want to Talk About It" (written by Danny Whitten), "The Way You Do the Things You Do" (The Temptations), and "I'd Rather Leave While I'm in Love" (Carole Bayer Sager). In 1980 Coolidge also was the voice of Melissa Raccoon in the Christmas Raccoons, and reprised this role for a subsequent special The Raccoons on Ice in 1981. Both of these specials served as a predecessor to the critically-acclaimed Canadian animated series, The Raccoons
She scored her last hit in 1983, with "All Time High" for the James Bond film Octopussy. Another well-known movie song, although not really a hit for Coolidge, was the love theme from the movie Splash, entitled "Love Came For Me".
In 1997, Coolidge was one of the founding members of Walela, a Native American music trio, that also includes Coolidge's sister Priscilla and Priscilla's daughter Laura Satterfield. The trio released albums in 1997 and 2000. Walela means hummingbird in Cherokee.
In 2004, Coolidge released an anthology of her complete career, entitled Delta Lady — The Rita Coolidge Anthology.
In 2006, Coolidge released a jazz CD, And So Is Love. That same year, she toured the United Kingdom on the "Once in a Lifetime Country Tour" with Don Williams and Kenny Rogers.
Personal life
Coolidge married Kris Kristofferson in 1973 and they had one daughter, Casey. Her marriage to Kristofferson ended in 1980.
