AKA Elisha Ann Cuthbert
Born: 30-Nov-1982
Birthplace: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: Canada
Executive summary: The Girl Next Door
Former foot model. Ranked #57 in Stuff's 102 Sexiest Women 2002, and #84 in Maxim's 100 sexiest. Of course, those magazines are identical to each other.
Father: Kevin Cuthbert
Mother: Patricia
Brother: Jonathan Cuthbert (younger)
Sister: Lee-Ann Cuthbert (younger)
Cuthbert was born in Calgary, Alberta to Patricia, a homemaker, and Kevin Cuthbert, an automotive design engineer. She has two younger siblings, Jonathan and Lee-Ann and grew up in Greenfield Park, near Montreal, Quebec. In 2000, she graduated from Centennial Regional High School and moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of 17 to pursue an acting career.
Career
Early career
When she was 7, Cuthbert started modeling for various lines of children's clothing and also became a foot model. She made her first televised appearance as an extra in the horror-themed series for children, Are You Afraid of the Dark?; she later become a series regular. Cuthbert also co-hosted Popular Mechanics for Kids, which was filmed in Montreal. Her reporting captured the attention of then-First Lady, Hillary Clinton, who invited her to visit the White House.
Cuthbert landed her first role in a feature film in the family drama Dancing on the Moon (1997). She appeared in several other Canadian family-themed movies and an airplane thriller, Airspeed. Cuthbert starred in the Canadian television movie Lucky Girl in 2001 and was awarded a Gemini Award for her performance.
Soon after her move to Los Angeles, Cuthbert was cast in the role of Kim Bauer, daughter of CTU agent Jack Bauer in the television series 24. She appeared in the show's first three seasons, but not in its 4th; she guest-starred in only two episodes in the 5th season. She also reprised her role as Kim Bauer in 24: The Game. She has also said that she would like to play her role as Kim in the upcoming movie, 24: The Movie.
Hollywood film career
Cuthbert auditioned for the role of Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-Man film, though the role eventually went to Kirsten Dunst. She began her Hollywood film career with small roles in Old School and Love Actually in 2003.
Cuthbert's next film, The Girl Next Door, cast her in her first lead role as an ex-porn star, Danielle, alongside Emile Hirsch. Cuthbert had initial reservations about taking the part, but was persuaded by director Luke Greenfield into accepting. She researched the role, speaking to actual adult actresses from Wicked Pictures and Vivid Entertainment. Upon its release the film received comparisons to Risky Business — although Cuthbert claims her character was not directly based on De Mornay's character — and was noted for Cuthbert's sex appeal. Critics were divided; some praised the film for its boldness, while others, notably Roger Ebert, decried it for being gimmicky and exploitative. Ebert wrote that he saw Cuthbert's character Danielle as "quite the most unpleasant character I have seen in some time."
In her next big-screen outing, Cuthbert starred with Paris Hilton and Chad Michael Murray in the 2005 remake of the classic horror film House of Wax. Cuthbert, along with the rest of her cast mates, was made up to look haggard and frightened. In one scene, her character was to attempt to open her mouth while her lips were sealed with glue. For the sake of realism, Cuthbert opted for real superglue over prosthetics. Despite her efforts, House of Wax was largely panned, with critics citing a range of flaws. It was called "notable for having some of the most moronic protagonists ever to populate a horror film," though out of those characters reviews tended to think Cuthbert "fares the best". Others noted Cuthbert as an "exception" playing her role "earnestly" and "fine".
Cuthbert's next film project was the indie film The Quiet, which she not only co-starred in but also co-produced and helped finance. She played Nina, a temperamental 17-year old cheerleader who suffered from sexual abuse. Cuthbert looked to her younger cousin for inspiration as to how to play a teenager. The Quiet, distributed by Sony Pictures Classics, premiered at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival and received a limited release in Los Angeles and New York City on August 25, 2006, before expanding regionally on September 1.
Cuthbert had also screen tested for the role of Lois Lane in Superman Returns, but she lost the part at the last minute to Kate Bosworth. She had also been turned down for the lead in Fantastic Four.
Cuthbert appeared in the music video for Weezer's "Perfect Situation" in early 2006, where she played the group's fictional original singer who threw a tantrum that led to Rivers Cuomo, the unlikely roadie, becoming the frontman of the band. Cuthbert also had a small role in Paris Hilton's music video for the song "Nothing In This World".
Cuthbert appeared in two films in 2007. The first, Captivity, was a thriller centered around a fashion model taunted by a psychopath who has imprisoned her in a cellar. She will also star in the remake of the popular South Korean movie, My Sassy Girl, alongside Jesse Bradford.
Cuthbert also has several other films in different stages of production. In He Was a Quiet Man, her character, Vanessa, is a quadriplegic. The film will contain comedic and dramatic elements; the cast includes Christian Slater and William H. Macy. She is also slated to voice Cleo, "the feline daughter of a wealthy kitty litter baron" in Cat Tale, an animated film set in a civilized world of cats and dogs.
Cuthbert is scheduled to appear in the family comedy The Six Wives of Henry LeFay with actor Tim Allen.
Personal life
Cuthbert, who enjoys painting, is a devoted hockey fan and Los Angeles Kings season ticket holder, as are her mother and brother, Jonathan, who is active in the sport. She maintained her own blog on the NHL's web site. She was most recently in a relationship with New York Rangers hockey player Sean Avery.
She regularly secures a place in FHM and Maxim's annual Top 100 Sexiest/Hottest lists. Her highest ranking was #5 in the 2005 UK Edition of FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World list. She was ranked #14 in 2003, #10 in 2004, #22 in 2006, and #10 in 2007. The U.S. Edition ranked her #53 in 2003, #63 in 2004, and #54 in 2006. She was not listed in the U.S. 2005 list. Maxim magazine named her #92 in its 2006 Hot 100 list, and features her in their Girls of Maxim Gallery. As of 2006, Cuthbert has stated that she would refuse to be photographed nude in film roles or magazines, and uses body doubles whenever necessary, specifying that she would "like to keep some things to [herself]". Most recently, Cuthbert was ranked #10 by AskMen.com readers in the list "Top 99 Women of 2007".

AKA Anna Kay Faris
Born: 29-Nov-1976
Birthplace: Baltimore, MD
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Scary Movie
Father: Jack Faris
Mother: Karen
Brother: Robert Faris
Husband: Benjamin Indra Ben Indra (together since 1999, m. 3-Jun-2004, filed for divorce 2007)
Faris, the daughter of Jack and Karen and sister of Bob Faris, grew up in Edmonds, Washington, north of Seattle. Her parents encouraged her to pursue acting when she was young and she gave her first professional acting performance at age 9 at the Seattle Repertory Theater. After attending Edmonds Woodway High School, she studied English literature at the University of Washington. She is of Irish, Scottish, English, German, and French descent. In 2004, Faris married actor Ben Indra, whom she met while working on Lovers Lane and whom she had dated since 1999. She filed for divorce on April 3, 2007, citing irreconcilable differences.
Film career
Her first significant film role was in the independent production Lovers Lane (1999). Her breakout role was the horror film parody Scary Movie (2000). The 5'5" Faris is a natural light brunette (as seen in the film May), but usually keeps her hair dyed blonde. She dyed her hair black for the filming of Scary Movie so that her character more closely resembled Neve Campbell, who played the equivalent character in Scream, one of the films that Scary Movie was parodying.
Faris gained further popularity after becoming recurring character Erica in the final season of the popular American sitcom Friends. She also was in the critically acclaimed film Lost in Translation—in which she plays an actress promoting the fictional action movie Midnight Velocity.
Faris was in the film Waiting... with Ryan Reynolds and Justin Long. In 2005, she appeared again with Reynolds in Just Friends, playing a supporting role as a pop-diva singer named Samantha James. While the film received mixed reviews, it gained a small cult-following, and many fans praised Faris for her performance.[citation needed] Faris's role as the motor mouthed LaShawn Malone in Brokeback Mountain (2005) brought her to the attention of a much wider audience, her character being parodied by fans of the movie on the internet. Faris starred with Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson in the feature film My Super Ex-Girlfriend, released on July 21, 2006. She will soon begin production on the comedy Kids in America, playing Topher Grace's twin sister, in addition to her upcoming films Mama's Boy with Jeff Daniels and Diane Keaton, and Smiley Face with Adam Brody and John Cho. She is also currently producing I Know What Boys Like, a film with Happy Madison Productions about a retired Playboy bunny. In the summer 2007 season of HBO's Entourage, Anna guest-starred as herself.

Anna Nicole Smith was born Vickie Lynn Hogan, and grew up in a small Texas town. As a young girl, she idolized Marilyn Monroe. She dropped out of school in 8th grade to work at Jim's Krispy Fried Chicken Shack, and later cashiered at Wal-Mart. At 17, she met and married a fry cook, Billy Smith. They had a son, and soon after were divorced. The erstwhile Mrs. Smith began stripping at Rick's Cabaret, a tavern in Houston, where she performed as "Miss Nikki" and "Robin" before settling on "Anna Nicole" because it sounded classier. There she met billionaire Howard Marshall II, at 88 the richest old man in Texas. Smith later had breast augmentation surgery, and Marshall may have paid for it. Newly zaftig, she was Playboy's Playmate of the Month in May 1992, and Playmate of the Year for 1993. The Playboy fame landed Smith a new career, replacing Claudia Schiffer as the spokesmodel for Guess? jeans.
At 26, Smith and Marshall were married, but Marshall died just 14 months later, and his son, E. Pierce Marshall, was named sole beneficiary. Smith wasn't even mentioned in her husband's will. Pierce (who was twice his stepmother's age at the time, 56 to 28), said that his father had disinherited Smith because she had seemed more interested in shopping than fulfilling her wifely duties. Smith sued for half of her husband's estate, fueling endless tabloid coverage. One of Marshall's nurses testified that Smith rarely visited their home in his last months. His office manager said she had accumulated "monthly six-figure credit card bills. But Smith's lawyer, Howard K. Stern, argued that the love between Smith and the elder Marshall had been true and timeless. The court case lasted much longer than the marriage. One judge decided Smith deserved $475 million, but the family appealed and that verdict was reduced to $88.5 million. It was just a fraction of her husband's estimated $1.6 billion worth, but the family promised to appeal that payout as well, and for years Smith said she hadn't seen a dime.
In the mid-1990s, Smith had bit parts in The Naked Gun 33 1/3 and The Hudsucker Proxy. She followed that with leading roles in two low-budget cleavage flicks: To the Limit (with Smith as a CIA agent battling assassins) and SkyScraper (with Smith as a helicopter pilot battling terrorists). Smith's reality show, The Anna Nicole Show, debuted in 2002. Reviews were abysmal, but the show garnered modest if inexplicable popularity, and lasted two seasons. Even Smith said she wasn't sure why people were interested in her, but she said she hoped audiences would "start to take me seriously as an actress".
In October 2003 Smith became the spokesperson for TrimSpa, a product which, she says, helped her lose 30 pounds. In May 2004, she announced plans to launch her own line of fashion clothing. In September 2006, Smith gave birth to a daughter in Nassau, Bahamas; her 20-year-old son died inexplicably while visiting his mother at the maternity ward three days after the birth. Smith herself died in 2007, after collapsing at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino.

AKA Johnny Allen Hendrix
Born: 27-Nov-1942
Birthplace: King County Hospital, WA
Died: 18-Sep-1970
Location of death: London, England
Cause of death: Accident - Overdose
Remains: Buried, Greenwood Memorial Park, Renton, WA
Gender: Male
Race or Ethnicity: Black
Sexual orientation: Matter of Dispute
Occupation: Guitarist
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Purple Haze
Military service: US Army (1961-62)
Father: James "Al" Hendricks (d. 2002, congestive heart failure)
Mother: Lucille Jeter (d. 1958, cirrhosis)
Brother: Leon (younger)
Sister: Janie (stepsister)
Girlfriend: Kathy Etchingham
Girlfriend: Monika Dannemann
Son: James Henrik Daniel Sundquist
Daughter: Tamika Laurice James
The pre-eminent "guitar hero" to emerge during the 1960s -- as well as being fashioned into the principal deity in the pantheon of celebrity drug casualties -- Johhny Allen Hendricks (soon re-named James Marshall Hendricks and eventually known as Jimi Hendrix) was brought into the world in the city of Seattle, the son of Al Hendricks and his wife Lucille Jeter. Although spending some of his early years living in Vancouver with his grandmother Nora Rose Moore, Jimi was primarily raised by his father following his parent's divorce in 1951, his mother being removed from his life entirely in 1958 as a result of alchohol-induced cirrhosis. Al recognized and encouraged his son's enthusiam for music, and provided him with first a ukelele and then a cheap guitar in the months following his mother's death; Jimi subsequently immersed himself in learning the instrument, and joined his first band The Velvetones shortly afterwards.
By the summer of 1959 Hendrix had bought his first electric guitar and moved from The Velvetones to another local ensemble called The Rocking Kings. Two years later, however, his musical activities were temporarily hindered by a run-in with the law (apparently involving car theft), resulting in 2 years of compulsory service in the Army; a decidedly unenthusiastic soldier, Hendrix completed less than a year of training as a paratrooper at Fort Campbell in Kentucky before breaking his ankle and receiving a discharge. During this period he formed The King Casuals with Army friend Billy Cox, and after leaving the service the pair moved to Nashville, where they became active in the thriving R&B scene centered around the clubs on Jefferson Street. It was here that the guitarist (now using the name Jimmy James) began to establish a reputation for himself, struggling to earn a living as a session and backing musician for acts such as B. B. King, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson and Ike and Tina Turner; by 1964 he had relocated to New York and expanded his resumé to include work with King Curtis, The Isley Brothers and Curtis Knight.
After working as part of Little Richard's backing band in 1965, Hendrix formed Jimmy James and the Blue Flames, assuming the role of both lead guitarist and singer for the first time. The band's appearances on the Greenwich Village circuit quickly brought its dynamic frontman to the attention of fellow musicians such as Frank Zappa, session player Jeff "Skunk" Baxter and -- most significantly -- former bassist for The Animals Chas Chandler, who would sign Hendrix to his new management and production agency the following year. Chandler then moved the guitarist to London, altering the spelling of his first name to "Jimi" and helping him to organize a backing band: the result being a trio called The Jimi Hendrix Experience, featuring former guitarist for The Loving Kind Noel Redding on bass and jazz drummer Mitch Mitchell. The Experience's impact on the London music scene was immediate and significant, with Hendrix himself earning the admiration of the leading British rock musicians of the time.
Making their entrance onto the music charts with the single Hey Joe in December of 1966 and then following with Purple Haze, The Wind Cries Mary and their debut full-length Are You Experienced in 1967, the Jimi Hendrix Experience quickly positioned themselves as one of the leading acts of the late 1960s, the hype generated by the records magnified by Hendrix's stage persona -- which included such visual theatrics as playing his guitar with his teeth or behind his head, and then setting it on fire and destroying his amplifiers at the end of the set. His appearance at the Monterey Pop Festival (instigated by Beatle Paul McCartney) provided an opportunity for this dramatic display to be captured on film, while also spreading the band's popularity back to the States. A second album, Axis: Bold as Love, was released at the end of the year -- not quite a chart-successful as the first, but containing one of Hendrix's most enduring songs Little Wing.
In 1968 Hendrix moved his base of operations back to New York, establishing his own studio (named "Electric Lady") in order to fully realize his musical ambitions without outside interference (although it would be two more years before work on the elaborate studio was completed). The ambitious double LP Electric Ladyland was issued later in the year, preceded by a single release of an interpretation of Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower. The album was enthusiastically received, becoming Hendrix's first #1 in the U.S.; it would also be the final offering from the Experience, as the guitarist's obsessive perfectionism regarding his music -- combined with increasingly erratic behavior fueled by his drug intake -- had brought an end to his relationship with Redding by the middle of 1969 (manager Chandler having already quit in May of '68). Hendrix assembled the six-piece unit Gypsy Sun and Rainbows immediately afterwards, using them as his backing band for his performance at the Woodstock Festival in August.
Not long after Woodstock, Hendrix assembled the trio Band of Gypsys with old Army friend/former King Casuals bandmate Billy Cox and drummer Buddy Miles. This line-up endured only until the end of January 1970, but a self-titled live document culled from two performances on New Year's Day was released later in the year, which would become one of his most popular albums. After the departure of Miles, Mitch Mitchell was subsequently brought back into the fold, with the band once again assuming the name The Jimi Hendrix Experience; recordings for what was intended to be another double LP were undertaken in between an active performance schedule, but the sessions were interrupted by a tour of Europe, launched at the end of August with an appearance at the third Isle of Wight festival. Cox was forced to abandon the tour after only a week for health reasons, after which Hendrix decided to spend a short time in London before returning to New York. On the morning of September 18th he was found dead by girlfriend Monika Dannemann, the guitarist having apparently asphixiated on his own vomit after taking an excess of sleeping pills. His body was subsequently brought back to the States and buried in Renton, Washington.

Born: 26-Nov-1945
Birthplace: London, England
Gender: Male
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Bassist
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Bassist for Fleetwood Mac
Father: Reg McVie
Mother: Dorothy McVie
Wife: Christine McVie (m. Aug-1968)
Wife: Julie Anne Rubens (m. 1978)
John Graham McVie (born November 26, 1945) is a British bass guitarist best known as a member of the rock group Fleetwood Mac. He joined Fleetwood Mac shortly after its formation by guitarist Peter Green in 1967, and, along with Mick Fleetwood, is the only original member still with the band. In 1968 he married blues pianist and singer Christine Perfect, who became a member of Fleetwood Mac two years later. John and Christine McVie divorced, however, in 1977, about the time the band recorded the album Rumours, a major artistic and commercial success, and which borrowed its title from the turmoils in McVie's and other band members' marriages and relationships.
John McVie’s first job as a bass player was in a band called the "Krewsaders", formed by boys living in the same street as McVie in Ealing, West London. The "Krewsaders" played mainly at weddings and parties covering songs from the The Shadows.
Around the time of McVie’s tenure as a tax inspector, John Mayall began forming a Chicago-style Blues band, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. Initially Mayall wanted to recruit bass player Cliff Barton of the Cyril Davies All Stars for the rhythm section of his new band. Barton declined, however, but gave him John McVie's phone number, urging Mayall to give the talented young bass player a chance in the Bluesbreakers. Mayall contacted McVie, and asked him to audition for his band. Soon thereafter, McVie got offered to play bass in the Bluesbreakers. McVie accepted while still holding down his daytime job for a further nine months before becoming a musician full time. Under Mayall's tutelage, McVie, not having had any formal training in music, learnt to play the blues mainly by listening to BB King & Willie Dixon records given to him by Mayall.
In 1967, a young Peter Green was asked to join Mayall's Bluesbreakers as the band's new lead guitar player, after Eric Clapton, the original guitar player, had left the band. The arrival of Peter Green to the Bluesbreakers coincided with the joining of Mick Fleetwood as new drummer, replacing Aynsley Dunbar. Green, Fleetwood, and McVie quickly forged a strong personal relationship, and when John Mayall gave Green some free studio time for his birthday, Green asked McVie and Fleetwood to join him for a recording session. Produced by Mike Vernon, they recorded three tracks together, "Curly", "Rubber Duck", and an instrumental called "Fleetwood Mac". Later the same year, Eric Clapton decided to rejoin the Bluesbreakers, and Peter Green opted to form his own band, which he called "Fleetwood Mac" after his preferred rhythm section (McVie and Fleetwood). Mick Fleetwood immediately joined Green's new band, having been dismissed earlier from the Bluesbreakers for drunkenness. However, McVie initially was reluctant to join Fleetwood Mac, not wanting to leave the security and well-paid job in the Bluesbreakers, forcing Green to hire a temporary bassist named Bob Brunning. A few weeks later McVie changed his mind, however, as he felt that The Bluesbreakers musical direction were shifting too much towards jazz, and he joined Fleetwood Mac on bass in December 1967.

Christina Applegate made her TV debut at three months of age. Her mother, actress Nancy Priddy, was a regular on the soap opera Days of our Lives, and when Applegate was born, she appeared on the show in her mother's arms. In her first movie, 1981's King Cobra when she was 9, Applegate again played her mother's daughter. With her mother's connections, she easily found work as a child actress, appearing on shows like Quincy, Charles in Charge, and Family Ties in the mid-1980s. She played Rick Schroder's prom date on Silver Spoons, and played Grace Kelly as a child in a 1983 TV biopic, Grace Kelly.
Her first TV series was Showtime's political comedy Washingtoon (1985) as a Congressman's daughter. The next year, she was a cop's daughter on the police drama Heart of the City. Starting in 1987 when she was 16, Applegate played the nymphomaniac Kelly Bundy on the anti-family comedy Married with Children for eleven years.
She has also played a teen prostitute in 1990's Streets, a sleazy drug dealer in Wonderland, Gwyneth Paltrow's best friend in View from the Top, and Cameron Diaz's friend in The Sweetest Thing. In 1995's Vibrations, Applegate manages a rave where a handless keyboard-player finds redemption. Still, after 11 years of Married with Children it has been hard for audiences to see Applegate as anything else. Yet in 2004, Applegate's movie career got a lift with Anchorman, where she played a non-bimbo early TV anchorwoman, to Will Ferrell's dismay.
After the sitcom Married... with Children was cancelled in May 1997, Applegate starred as Claudine Van Doozen in the independent feature Claudine's Return (a.k.a. Kiss of Fire), was cast in the action-comedy The Big Hit, and played the fiancée of a Mob descendant in the Mafia satire Jane Austen's Mafia (1998).
In that same year, Applegate landed the role of "Jesse" in their sitcom with the same title. The series debuted in 1998, received rave reviews, and brought Applegate a People's Choice Award for Favorite Female Performer in a New TV series and the TV Guide Award for Star of a New Series as well as a nomination at the Golden Globe for Lead Actress in a Comedy. Though the series garnered praise, it only stayed on the air for two years before being cancelled in 2000.
The new millennium saw Applegate playing the dual role of a 12th-century noblewoman, Princess Rosalind, and her 21st-century descendant, Julia Malfete, in the time-travel comedy Just Visiting (2001). After gaining wide notice for playing Cameron Diaz's levelheaded best friend, Courtney Rockcliffe, in The Sweetest Thing (2002), Applegate continued to win roles in such movies as Heroes (2002), the airplane comedy View from the Top (2003), Wonderland (2003), Grand Theft Parsons (2003), Surviving Christmas (2004) and Employee of the Month (2004, with Matt Dillon). Behind the screen, she was the executive producer of Comforters and Miserable (2001).
Applegate won the 55th Annual Prime Time Emmy Award for Best Guest Actress in a Comedy after she guest starred as Amy Green, Jennifer Aniston's sister, in the hit series Friends in November 2002 and October 2003. On the silver screen, she portrayed TV anchorwoman Veronica Corningstone in the 2004 films Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie.
Adding to her screen work, Applegate has performed on stage in such productions as The Axeman's Jazz, Nobody Leaves Empty Handed, The Runthrough, as well as John Cassavetes' The Third Day. In 2004, she debuted on the Broadway stage playing the title role of Charity Hope Valentine in a revival of the 1966 musical Sweet Charity. She eventually took home the 2005 Theatre World Award and was nominated for a 2005 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical.
Applegate was one of the founding members of the Pussycat Dolls, which debuted at the Viper Room on Sunset Strip, Los Angeles in 1995. Applegate emceed for the Dolls when they moved to The Roxy in 2002.
While playing the title role in a revival of Sweet Charity, Applegate broke her foot, and it was announced that the musical would close during previews. She persuaded the producers to rescind their decision, and on April 18, 2005, she made her Broadway debut. Sweet Charity ended its Broadway run on December 31, 2005. She also guest-starred on two episodes of Friends, one in the ninth season, and one in the tenth, titled "The One with Rachel's Other Sister" and "The One Where Rachel's Sister Babysits" respectively (in 2002 and 2003) as Amy Green, Rachel's (Jennifer Aniston) youngest sister. She won an Emmy for her performance in "The One with Rachel's Other Sister". In 2006, she appeared in an advertising campaign for Hanes title "Look who we've got our Hanes on now". The campaign started in 2005 but she, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Kevin Bacon were added to the ads in 2006.
In 2006, Applegate appeared in Jessica Simpson's music video "A Public Affair", alongside Eva Longoria, Ryan Seacrest and Christina Milian.
Applegate is currently starring in the ABC comedy, Samantha Who?. Jean Smart, Jennifer Esposito, and Melissa McCarthy are co-starring. The series is about a 30-year-old real-estate mogul who, after a hit-and-run accident, develops amnesia and has to rediscover her life, her relationships and herself.

Heigl was born in Washington, D.C. to Paul Heigl, a financial executive/accountant, and Nancy, a personal manager. She has German and Irish ancestry and was raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strict upbringing. She is the youngest of four children (in addition to siblings Meg (who is adopted), Jason and John). Heigl lived in Virginia and then Denver before her family settled in Connecticut, where they moved into a large, old Victorian-style farmhouse in the wealthy town of New Canaan, where she spent most of her childhood.
In 1986, her 15-year-old older brother Jason died of injuries suffered in a car accident, after being thrown from the back of a pickup truck. When doctors determined he was brain-dead following an eight-hour operation, the family decided to donate his organs. The Heigl family was never in any doubt that Jason would have wanted his organs and tissues donated for transplant. Heigl is now a strong proponent of organ donation.
Career
When Heigl was nine, an aunt visiting the family decided to take a number of photographs of her. After returning to her home in New York, the aunt sent the photos to a number of modeling agencies, with the permission of Heigl's parents. Within a few weeks, Heigl was signed as a child model. Almost immediately, a client slated Heigl for use in a magazine advertisement where she made her debut. She was soon earning $75 an hour posing for Sears and Lord & Taylor catalogs. Television jobs soon followed, the first in a national spot for Cheerios cereal. She made her acting debut in the 1992 movie That Night. Heigl appeared as Christina Sebastian in Steven Soderbergh's Depression-era drama King of the Hill before being cast in her first leading role in the 1994 comedy My Father the Hero. During this time, Heigl continued to attend New Canaan High School, balancing her film and modeling work with her academic studies.
She then appeared opposite Steven Seagal in the 1995 action thriller Under Siege 2: Dark Territory. Despite an increased focus on acting, she still modeled extensively, appearing regularly in magazines such as Seventeen. She took the lead role in Disney's made-for-television film Wish Upon a Star in 1996. Also in 1996, Heigl's parents divorced and her mother was diagnosed with cancer. After her high school graduation in 1997, she moved with her mother into a four-bedroom house in Malibu Canyon, Los Angeles, and her mother became her manager.
In 1998, she co-starred with Peter Fonda in a re-working of the classic Shakespearian play The Tempest, set during the American Civil War. Later that year, she starred in the horror film Bride of Chucky.
In 1999, Heigl turned her attention to television when she accepted the role of Isabel Evans on the science fiction TV drama Roswell, a role that was expanded in the show's second and third seasons. Heigl was frequently featured in photo essays in magazines such as Life, TV Guide, and Teen as well as FHM. She appeared in the FHM and Maxim calendars, FHM's annual "100 Sexiest Women in the World", and was featured in the Girls of Maxim Gallery. In May 2006, Maxim awarded her #12 on their annual Hot 100 List as well as voted the 19th "Sexiest Woman in the World" by readers of FHM magazine. While Roswell was in production, Heigl worked on several films, including 100 Girls, an independent 2001 film, and Valentine, a horror film starring David Boreanaz and Denise Richards.
Heigl accepted a role in Ground Zero, a television thriller scheduled to be telecast that fall which was based on the bestselling James Mills novel The Seventh Power, in the spring of 2001. She co-starred as a brilliant and politically-concerned college student who helps to build a nuclear device to illustrate the need for a change in national priorities; the device ends up in the hands of a terrorist following betrayal by a fellow student. After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, however, the film was shelved when its plot was considered inappropriate; it re-emerged in 2003 under the title Critical Assembly. After the attacks, Heigl recorded a public service announcement for the American Red Cross in an effort to help raise money for victims.
In 2003, Heigl appeared in three television movies. She returned to the horror genre with Evil Never Dies, a modern-day variation on the Frankenstein story co-starring Thomas Gibson. Love Comes Softly, for Hallmark Entertainment, found Heigl starring as Marty Claridge, a young, pregnant newlywed traveling west. (She reprised the role of Marty in the sequel Love's Enduring Promise the next year.) Heigl played Isabella Linton in MTV's modern revamp of Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights. In October 2003, Heigl was cast opposite Johnny Knoxville in The Ringer, a Farrelly brothers comedy that was released in December 2005. Heigl starred as Romy in the 2005 television movie Romy and Michele: In the Beginning, a prequel to the 1997 film Romy and Michele's High School Reunion.
In 2005, Heigl was cast in what would become her most high-profile role, as intern Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens on Grey's Anatomy, an ABC medical drama. The show, originally introduced as a midseason replacement, has become a huge ratings success. The same year, Heigl landed the starring role in the independent film Side Effects, about marketing and the pharmaceutical industry. In late 2006, Heigl was nominated for a Golden Globe award in the category, Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Mini-series, or Motion Picture Made for Television for her work on Grey's Anatomy. Also in 2006, she filmed Knocked Up, a comedy from writer/director Judd Apatow, starring opposite Seth Rogen. Upon its June 2007 theatrical release, the film received largely positive reviews from critics, and proved to be a box office success.
She has been on FHM's "100 Sexiest Women in the World" list twice as of 2007.
On September 16, 2007, Heigl won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Izzie Stevens. In her acceptance speech she acknowledged that even her mother did not believe she would win, and when her name was called, had to be censored vocally by the telecast's producers, due to her saying "Shit!" when she reacted to the win. Earlier, she had corrected telecast announcer Rebecca Riedy, who had been given an incorrect phonetic spelling of Heigl's name, when she mispronounced her name as Hi-gell before the presentation of the award with Kyle Chandler for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie.
Personal life
Heigl was previously in a relationship with actor Jason Behr. In June 2006, she became engaged to singer Josh Kelley, whom she met on the set of his music video for "Only You." In June 2007, she announced that a wedding date has been set and that the couple will marry in October 2007. The ceremony date was later pushed back to December 23, 2007.

Father: Billy Ray Cyrus (country music singer/actor, b. 1961)
Mother: Leticia Finley
Brother: Christopher (half-brother)
Brother: Braison
Sister: Noah Lindsey
Sister: Brandi (step-sister)
Brother: Trace (step-brother)
Born in Franklin, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville, Miley Cyrus attended Heritage Middle School but she now has a private tutor. She grew up on her parents' farm in the backwoods of Nashville. Cyrus is the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia "Tish" Cyrus, and the granddaughter of the late Ron Cyrus and Ruth Ann Cyrus. She has two older half-brothers, Christopher Cody and Trace, who sings and plays guitar in Metro Station, an electronic rock band in California, an older half-sister, Brandi, a younger brother, Braison, and a younger sister, Noah Lindsey Cyrus, who is also an actress. She was named Destiny Hope because her parents thought that she would accomplish great things. Cyrus gained her nickname "Miley" because she kept smiling ("Smiley") as a youngster. In an interview with USA Today, Cyrus was quoted as saying her faith is "the main thing" and is why she works in Hollywood. When interviewed by Parade, she added that she attends church regularly with her family. She also has many pets, including horses, dogs, cats, fish and chickens. Cyrus is the goddaughter of country music star Dolly Parton.
Career
Cyrus became interested in acting at age nine when the family briefly lived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. While on the set of her father's television series Doc, she received a guest role, playing a girl named Kylie. In 2003, she played "Young Ruthie" in Tim Burton's Big Fish and was credited as Destiny Cyrus. She was also featured in Rhonda Vincent's music video for "If Heartaches Have Wings", and appeared on Colgate Country Showdown with her father (who was hosting the television program).
Cyrus was eleven years old when she originally auditioned for Disney for the part of the "best friend"; Disney Channel executives then judged her to be "too small," however Miley was persistent in her desire to be part of the show, so Disney called her back for further auditions when she was age 12. According to Disney Channel Executive Vice President Gary Marsh, Cyrus was chosen for Hannah Montana because of her energetic and lively performance and was seen as a person who "loves every minute of life," with the "everyday relatability of Hilary Duff and the stage presence of Shania Twain." She had spent several years attempting to get rid of her Southern accent, but in the end Disney wanted her to revive it. Later in an unusual twist, Cyrus had to audition her own father, Billy Ray Cyrus, to see if he would fit the role as Hannah's dad. Cyrus currently stars in the show (Hannah Montana) as the lead character Miley Stewart, whose alter ego is the pop music sensation Hannah Montana. Cyrus also performs in character as Hannah Montana for albums and concerts.
Cyrus's first guitar was a Daisy Rock Guitar — the Stardust Series Acoustic Electric Pink Sparkle, and was made a spokesperson for the company in 2004. It was given to her by her parents from her father's Country Music Television fan meet-and-greet, when she was twelve years old.
On June 22, 2006, a performance of a Hannah Montana concert (featuring Cyrus as Hannah Montana) at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida was recorded for the Disney Channel. Cyrus spent the rest of 2006 opening for The Cheetah Girls on 20 dates of their 39-city tour. Cyrus also appeared in the Disney Channel Hannah Montana promotion, "Hannah Montana's Backstage Secrets", in which she portrays Hannah Montana in a fictional interview set in the show's canon.
Walt Disney Records released the Hannah Montana soundtrack on October 24, 2006. The soundtrack included eight of the songs that Cyrus performed as Hannah Montana. Cyrus also signed a four-album major record deal with Hollywood Records for her own albums.
Cyrus is good friends with fellow Hannah Montana co-stars Emily Osment and Mitchel Musso, often texting and conference calling each other during busy days. Miley Cyrus also taught Emily Osment how to play the guitar and Osment taught Cyrus how to knit. She is also friends with the stars of the highly successful TV movie High School Musical, including Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale. Cyrus had a brief cameo in High School Musical 2 credited as "Girl at Pool", where she danced in front of the pool wearing a yellow baby doll top before the end credits.
Cyrus performed as Hannah Montana at the Walt Disney Christmas Parade on December 25, 2006, singing her version of the holiday classic "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree."
In June 26, 2007, exactly eight months after the release of the first soundtrack, Cyrus released a double album, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus. The first disc served as the second Hannah Montana soundtrack, while the second disc was Cyrus' debut album as herself. She co-wrote, credited as "Destiny Hope Cyrus", eight of the ten songs.
While attending the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix premiere, Cyrus stated that they are working on ideas for a Hannah Montana movie. The feature-length film is to be produced by Cyrus's both on and off-screen dad, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Disney released a Hannah Montana clothing collection in late summer. Cyrus helped to design some of the pieces from the collection. "It's not a costume. A tween girl isn't doing dress-up, they want to look like they could be Hannah Montana's friend. This is a fashion line."
Walt Disney Records has announced that Cyrus will be performing both as herself and in character as Hannah Montana on a 54-date North American Best of Both Worlds concert tour starting October 18, 2007 in St. Louis, Missouri and ending January 9, 2008 in Albany, New York.. AKA Hadley Mariel Hemingway
Born: 22-Nov-1961
Birthplace: Mill Valley, CA
Gender: Female
Religion: Other
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Woody Allen's Manhattan
Father: John Hadley Hemingway (d. 1-Dec-2000, heart attack)
Mother: Byra Louise Whittlesey (d. 1989, cancer)
Sister: Joan Hemingway (known as Muffet)
Sister: Margaux Hemingway (actress, d. 1996)
Husband: Stephen Crisman (m. Dec-1984, two daughters)
Daughter: Dree Louise Crisman (b. Dec-1987, with Crisman)
Daughter: Langley Crisman (b. 1989, with Crisman)
Mariel Hemingway grew up primarily in Ketchum, Idaho, where her father Jack Hemingway lived, and where her grandfather Ernest Hemingway also spent a great deal of time as a sportsman and writer. Ernest and Margaux Hemingway are both buried in the Ketchum cemetery. She never met her grandfather, who died several months before she was born.
In addition to Ketchum, Mariel spent part of her adolescence growing up in New York and Los Angeles.
Her first role was with her sister Margaux in the 1976 film Lipstick. The movie was not considered especially good, but Mariel did receive notice for the quality of her acting, and she was nominated as "Best Newcomer" for the Golden Globes Award that year.
Hemingway's most famous role is as Tracy in Woody Allen's Manhattan, in which she plays the high school lover of Isaac (Woody Allen). Only seventeen at the time, she was nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actress.
In the 1982 movie Personal Best, she played a bisexual athlete in a movie noted for some explicit (by mainstream standards) lesbian love scenes. In 1983, she starred as Dorothy Stratten in Star 80, a film about the Playboy model's life and murder. For that role, Hemingway had her breasts enlarged. Her implants were later removed in 2001 after one of them ruptured.
Mariel Hemingway has played a lesbian in several film or television shows in which she starred, including Personal Best, an infamous episode of the sitcom Roseanne in which she kissed Roseanne Barr on the lips, and an episode of Crossing Jordan. This has led to some speculation as to whether she is herself a lesbian. Hemingway herself made fun of her reputation for lesbian roles in her monologue on Saturday Night Live during the September 30, 1995 episode that she hosted, where she kisses the new female cast members while giving viewers a tour behind the scenes of Studio 8-H. Although not gay in real life she has been a long time supporter of gay rights.
In reality, Hemingway has been married since December 9, 1984 to writer and director Stephen Crisman, and they have two daughters: Dree (b. 1987) and Langley (b. 1989).
Mariel is also the author of the 2006 self-help book titled "Mariel Hemingway's Healthy Living from the Inside Out: Every Woman's Guide To Real Beauty, Renewed Energy, and a Radiant Life".
Bosom history: Breast implants downgraded to saline in 1993, but a breast ruptured in 2001, causing her to have them removed altogether.

In January 2006, she was named as a spokesperson of L'Oreal.
In July 2006, Reebok signed a deal with Johansson to co-create "Scarlett 'Hearts' Rbk," athletic footwear scheduled for a debut in the spring of 2007. Johansson will also be featured in Reebok's global women's advertising campaign, also in the spring of 2007. The company's press releases described Johansson as a "world renowned style icon" and an "inspiration for today's young women."
Personal life
Johansson is a Democrat and campaigned for John Kerry in the 2004 presidential election. She was later quoted as saying, of George W. Bush's re-election, that "[she was] disappointed. I think it was a disappointment for a large percentage of the population." Johansson has also taken part in the anti-poverty campaign ONE which was organised by U2 lead singer Bono.
Johansson has previously stated that she has a connection to older men, and could not see herself dating anyone under the age of 30. She has also noted that she does not discuss her personal life with the press, specifying that she feels "it's nice to have everybody not know your business." However, this has not stopped Johansson from sharing "select" opinions and personal details. Johansson's ex-boyfriend (and member of the band Steel Train), Jack Antonoff, has included lyrics that refer to Johansson in his band's song "Better Love." Antonoff also references Johansson in the song "2 O'clock." She has been linked to many famous men, including Derek Jeter, Benicio del Toro, Jared Leto, Justin Timberlake and most notably her Black Dahlia co-star Josh Hartnett. The pair dated for around two years until the end of 2006, with Hartnett citing their busy professional lives as the reason for the split. She is currently dating Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds. In October 2007, it was revealed she had given boyfriend Ryan Reynolds her wisdom tooth as a birthday present. Scarlett took the tooth and dipped it in gold before stringing it onto a necklace to give to him.
Johansson has repeatedly said that she does not believe in monogamy, and that it is not human nature to be with just one person. She has also said that "contrary to popular belief... [she is] not promiscuous" and she works "really hard" when she is in a relationship "to make it work in a monogamous way." She gets tested for HIV twice a year, and has specified that she feels "it's part of being a decent human" and that she finds it "disgusting" and "irresponsible" when people do not do so.
Johansson has claimed to be a fanatic for cheese, saying: "My greatest vice is cheese. Nothing else reigns over my life." She has criticized the media and Hollywood for promoting an image that causes unhealthy diets and eating disorders among women, saying that she thinks "that being ultra-thin is not sexy at all. Women shouldn't be forced to conform to unrealistic and unhealthy body images that the media promote."
Johansson appeared on the controversial cover of the February 2006 issue of Vanity Fair in the nude with fellow Hollywood "it girl" Keira Knightley and world-renowned fashion designer Tom Ford.
In March 2006, she topped the U.S. edition of FHM's poll of the sexiest women alive (in the UK edition Johansson was third). In 2007, Maxim named Johansson #3 in their Hot 100 issue, In November 2006, Johansson was named "Sexiest Woman Alive" by Esquire. She was featured at #3 in Maxim's Hot 100 for 2007.
When asked about her religious affiliation, Johansson has answered: "That's a very personal question. I would rather not answer." She has, however, specified that she celebrates a "little of both" referring to Christmas and Hanukkah. She has noted that she dislikes it when celebrities thank God or Jesus in their award acceptance speeches. She described herself as Jewish when she was talking about Woody Allen. "I just adore Woody," she says. "We have a lot in common. We're New Yorkers, Jewish. We have a very easygoing relationship".

Born: 21-Nov-1963

Boyfriend: Leif Garrett (teen idol, dated 6 years)

Sheridan was born in Worthing, West Sussex, England to British actress Sally Sheridan (a.k.a. Sally Adams). Her great-grandmother was of Punjabi Indian descent. Contrary to rumour, Sally is not the daughter of actress Dinah Sheridan. Dinah and Nicollette share no relationship. Sheridan's biological father has never been identified and Sheridan has said that she considers her mother's late ex-boyfriend, actor Telly Savalas, her father. Her half-brother, Nick Savalas, is his son. She attended school at Millfield in Somerset.
Career
Sheridan made her debut in Paper Dolls, but her breakthrough came in 1986, when she joined the cast of the CBS night-time soap Knots Landing as "Paige Matheson". She started out as a recurring role, but proved to be so popular that she was a regular during the 1988-89 season. For her performance in the role, she won the 1990 Soap Opera Digest Award for "Outstanding Lead Actress: Prime Time" and the 1991 Soap Opera Digest Award for "Outstanding Heroine: Prime Time". The same year, she was named one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People." After the series ended in 1993, she appeared in several made-for-TV movies and the films Spy Hard and Beverly Hills Ninja and auditioned for the role of Grace Adler on Will & Grace (on which she would later guest-star).
In 2004, Sheridan's role as sexy divorcee Edie Britt in ABC's Desperate Housewives brought her renewed media attention. She was nominated for a 2005 Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and was named #48 on Maxim's 2006 List. Less positively, she was named 2004's "worst dressed" by Mr. Blackwell. Mr. Blackwell's citation probably resulted from the colourful and boldly-cut gown Sheridan wore as a presenter at the American Music Awards on November 14, 2004 but he had earlier (TV Guide, July 22,1989) praised her fashion "daring ... with her panache, she brings it off without a hitch. For the adventurer in all of us, she's the one to watch". She also faced media speculation that she had undergone extensive plastic surgery.
On November 15, 2004, Sheridan was cited by the FCC for her appearance in a sketch that opened the evening's Monday Night Football broadcast. The Desperate Housewives-inspired sketch showed Sheridan dropping a towel to attract football player Terrell Owens attention who than said "ah hell" was widely condemned as being sexually suggestive. ABC was forced to apologise for airing it but the citation against Sheridan was dropped on March 14, 2005. A week later, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) aired an also controversial parody showing WWE Diva Trish Stratus dropping her towel to attract WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin, but being caught in the act by the company's chairman, Vince McMahon.
Todd Schnitt of radio station WFLZ-FM in Tampa, Florida, placed an early-morning telephone call to Sheridan on November 18, 2004, waking her to discuss the Monday Night Football controversy (which had come to be called "Towelgate"). On January 30, 2007, the FCC levied a $10,000 fine because the station violated regulations in failing to inform Sheridan that the interview was being broadcast.
Personal life
From 1979 to 1985, Sheridan dated then teen-idol Leif Garrett. They began dating when she was fifteen and she lived with him in his mother's home while still a minor. As an adult, Sheridan was involved in an unsuccessful attempt to end Garrett's drug abuse.
Sheridan was married to actor Harry Hamlin from September 7, 1991 through 1993. Because the marriage lasted exactly two years (the amount of time required for an American citizen's spouse to receive permanent residency), it was rumoured to be a "green card" marriage. However, this is unlikely, as both Savalas and CBS could have sponsored her for any necessary visas without her needing to resort to a false marriage.
From January to October 2005, Sheridan was engaged to Swedish personal trainer, Nicklas Söderblom. After their break-up, Sheridan returned to ex-boyfriend Michael Bolton, to whom she became engaged in March 2006. Nicolette is reportedly pregnant with his child.

Husband: John Derek (film director, m. 1974, d. 18-May-1998, heart failure)
Boyfriend: John Corbett (actor, dating 2004)
At 15, Bo Derek was stunningly gorgeous, and was approached on several occasions by Hollywood types who thought she could be a actress. At one of her earliest auditions, she met John Derek -- now nearly forgotten, but then a dashing Hollywood star only a decade past his prime, and 30 years older than she. She and Derek began their affair on the set of a horrid but torrid film he directed and she starred in, And Once Upon a Love. They married a few years later, after he divorced Linda Evans. As for And Once Upon a Love, it was so awful it wasn't released until eight years later (retitled Fantasies), after Bo Derek had achieved fame with 10.
John Derek managed her career, turning down most of the big-studio offers that came in the wake of 10, including the Jessica Lange role in the 1976 King Kong. Instead, he wrote and directed his wife in Tarzan the Ape Man with Richard Harris and John Phillip Law, the soft-core Bolero, and Ghosts Can't Do It with Anthony Quinn. For Tarzan, Bo Derek won the Razzie as Worst Actress of 1981.
Her stepfather was stuntman Bobby Bass, who was battered in films from Michael Crichton's Westworld to Schwarzenegger's End of Days.

AKA Margaret Mary Emily Anne Hyra
Born: 19-Nov-1961
Birthplace: Fairfield, CT
Gender: Female
Religion: Roman Catholic
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Sleepless In Seattle
Father: Harry Hyra (teacher)
Mother: Susan Hyra
Sister: Dana Hyra
Sister: Annie Hyra
Brother: Andrew Hyra
Husband: Dennis Quaid (actor, m. 1991, div. 2001, one son)
Son: Jack Henry (b. 24-Apr-1992)
Boyfriend: Russell Crowe (actor, dated 2000)

Boyfriend: William Keane (actor, dated 2003)
Daughter: Daisy Ryan (adopted 2006)
Boyfriend: Matthew Perry (actor, dated 2007)
Born Margaret Mary Emily Hyra in Fairfield, Connecticut to Susan Jordan (née Ryan), a former English teacher, and Harry Hyra, a math teacher, she went by the name Peggy (also her grandmother's nickname) as a child. She has two sisters, Dana and Annie, and a brother, Andrew. Ryan was raised in the Catholic religion and graduated from Saint Pius X Elementary School in Fairfield, where her mother taught the sixth grade. There, Ryan was confirmed into the Catholic Church, choosing Anne as her confirmation name. Ryan's mother had appeared in one television commercial and later worked briefly as an assistant casting director in New York City. She supported and encouraged her young daughter's study of acting. At age 18, through her mother's connections, she booked her first television commercial, doing chin-ups and giggling to promote "Tickle" deodorant.
She graduated from Bethel High School in 1979, where she was elected Homecoming Queen. She went on to study journalism at the University of Connecticut and then at New York University, while acting in television commercials to earn extra money. Her success led her to drop out of college only a semester shy of graduating.
Soap opera career 1982-1984
After her first role in a feature film, Rich and Famous (1981), Ryan (then using her screen name) played Betsy Stewart in the daytime drama As the World Turns from 1982 to 1984. Directors for this show especially liked working with her because she could cry on cue. Several TV film and smaller movie roles followed.
Early film works 1985-1988
Ryan's first film role would be a small role in Amityville 3-D, However she would appeal herself to much larger audience's in the 1986 blockbuster Top Gun, opposite Tom Cruise. Ryan then appeared in the indie film The Promise Land, where she would receive her first Independent Spirit Award Nominaton. Ryan then appeared in two romantic movies D.O.A., and Presidio.
Film success 1989-1993
Her first full blown hit in a leading role was the romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally... (1989) which paired her with comedic leading man Billy Crystal. Her portrayal of Sally Albright, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination, is particularly memorable for her depiction of a "faked orgasm" in a Manhattan delicatessen (actually shot at the legendary Katz's on E. Houston Street.) The film would be the first of three successful Nora Ephron films in which Ryan would be typecast as a bubbly, feisty, but incurable romantic.
She also turned down lead roles in Pretty Woman, Ghost, and The Silence of the Lambs because she felt that they wouldn't be successful. They all were box office hits and big-time blockbusters. Ryan then stared in The Doors, and Prelude to a Kiss. Both films were moderately successful.
She had much success with her on-screen pairing with Tom Hanks; some compared their chemistry to Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. They starred in three films together: Joe Versus the Volcano, Sleepless In Seattle and You've Got Mail.
Continued success 1994-1999
She made several attempts to break away from the romantic comedy ingenue stereotype, and garnered critical acclaim for her work in When a Man Loves a Woman in which she played an alcoholic and Courage Under Fire, portraying a captain in the Gulf War. Many of her films of the 1990s were hits not only in North America, but also abroad. In 1994, Ryan won the Harvard Hasty Pudding Award as "Woman of the Year". That same year, People magazine dubbed her one of "The 50 most beautiful people in the world". In 1997 Ryan starred in the animated film Anastasia which garnered good reviews, and box office. In 1998 Ryan released two films, one of them being City of Angels, which drew negative reviews, but it became a huge financial success, topping nearly 200 million worldwide, her final film was You've Got Mail which garnered her third and final Golden Globe nomination, it also made over $250 million worldwide, becoming her last box office smash.
Personal and professional setbacks 2000-2005
In 2000 Ryan stared in the action thriller Proof of Life opposite Russell Crowe, but during filming of the movie Ryan had a secret affair with Crowe. The media then pounced on the story. Not only that but the movie also was rejected by critics and audiences.
In 2003, she broke away from her usual roles and starred in In the Cut, an erotic crime thriller in which Ryan had her first total nude scene.
Ryan's most recent project, George Gallo's More Than You Know, was shot in the fall of 2006 in Shreveport, Louisiana. The romantic comedy stars Ryan opposite Antonio Banderas. Ryan is joined by former co-star Tom Hanks's son, Colin, who plays her son in the film. Ryan's next project is a remake of the 1939 classic film The Women, which is slated to begin filming in New York City in August 2007. The $18 million remake of the George Cukor classic is being directed by Murphy Brown creator Diane English and produced by Mick Jagger and is slated for release in 2008. Ryan will play the central character, Mary Haines, a wealthy woman who is one of the last to find out that her husband is cheating on her with a shop girl. The leading role was originally made famous by actress Norma Shearer. Annette Bening, Eva Mendes and Candice Bergen are also slated to star in the remake.
Personal life
Ryan married actor Dennis Quaid on Valentine's Day in 1991, after starring in two films with him. Ryan agreed to marry him only after he kicked his drug and alcohol addiction. Quaid and Ryan have one child together, Jack Henry, born April 24, 1992. The couple divorced on July 16, 2001. Although Ryan had a relationship with actor Russell Crowe, with whom she made a movie, both she and Quaid deny it was a factor in their divorce. In a 2006 interview with Allure, Ryan indicated that Quaid had not been faithful to her during their marriage.
It was during Ryan's marriage to Quaid that she had a falling out with her mother over his alleged drug abuse. In interviews, the actress cast her mother, Susan Ryan Jordan, in a negative light, saying that she had abandoned her children to pursue an acting career. In response, Jordan published a book in 1999, The Immune Spirit, about her struggle with breast cancer and her difficult relationship with her famous daughter. Her mother has since given many interviews painting Ryan in a negative light. In January 2006, Ryan brought her newly adopted daughter, one-year-old Daisy True, home from China.
Ryan tends to support the U.S. Democratic Party, especially its environment protection programs and initiatives. In 2003, she supported General Wesley Clark's campaign for U.S. president. She supported John Kerry during the 2004 presidential elections. Ryan talked with Oprah Winfrey (March 1, 2006, The Oprah Winfrey Show) about her work with CARE in India and empowering women in poor countries.
In October 2003, while in the UK to promote In the Cut, Ryan had a controversial interview with Michael Parkinson on the long-running television talk show Parkinson, which resulted in negative publicity in some British press.

AKA Alicia Christian Foster
Born: 19-Nov-1962
Birthplace: Los Angeles, CA
Gender: Female
Religion: Atheist
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Lesbian
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Taxi Driver
Father: Lucius Foster III (left home a few months before Jodie Foster was born)
Mother: Evelyn Almond
Sister: Lucinda Foster (b. 1952)
Sister: Constance Foster (actress, b. 1955)
Brother: Lucius Foster IV ("Buddy", actor, b. 12-Jul-1957)
Special Friend: Cydney Bernard (special friend, special friends since 1993)
Son: Charles Foster (b. 1998, father a secret)
Son: Kit Foster (b. 29-Sep-2001)
Jodie Foster (born November 19, 1962) is a two-time Academy Award-winning American actress, director, and producer. She has also won two Golden Globes, BAFTA and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
After appearing as a child in several commercials, Foster won her first role in the 1970 TV movie Menace on the Mountain, followed by several Disney productions. Foster did not experience her breakout role until 1976, when she received moderate recognition but great acclaim for her role as a pre-teenage prostitute in Taxi Driver, receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She won an Oscar for Best Actress in 1988, for playing a rape victim in The Accused. In 1991, she starred in The Silence of the Lambs as Clarice Starling, a gifted FBI Agent investigating a serial killer. For this performance she received international acclaim and another Oscar for Best Actress. Her films and roles have spanned a wide variety of genres, including thrillers, crime, romance, comedy, children's movies, and science fiction. Popular later films include the box office successes Contact (1997), Panic Room (2002), Flightplan (2005) and Inside Man (2006).
Foster was born as Alicia Christian Foster to Lucius Foster III and Evelyn 'Brandy' (née Almond) Foster in Los Angeles, California. Her father, an Air Force colonel turned real estate broker, came from a wealthy background and left Foster's family a few months before she was born. Foster's mother supported the family by working as a film producer. Jodie attended an exclusive French-speaking prep school, the Lycée Français de Los Angeles, and graduated valedictorian before going to Yale University where she earned a B.A. in literature and graduated magna cum laude in 1985. While at Yale, Foster, like fellow 1985 Yale graduate Jennifer Beals of Flashdance fame, led a fairly normal life, considering her celebrity status. She would often spend time with friends at the local dive bar Anchor, and she occasionally partied in the haunts of one of the secret societies, the Manuscript Society (a scene recounting such an event is noted in Tom Perrotta's novel Joe College).
Early career, 1970–1979
Foster made nearly 50 film and television appearances before she attended college. She began her career at age three as the Coppertone Girl in a television commercial and debuted as a television actress in a 1968 episode of Mayberry R.F.D. She made her film debut in the 1970 TV movie Menace on the Mountain. Foster made a number of Disney movies, including Napoleon and Samantha (1972), One Little Indian (1973), Freaky Friday (1976) and Candleshoe (1977). She also co-starred with Christopher Connelly in the 1974 TV series version of Paper Moon and alongside Martin Sheen in the 1976 cult film The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane. As a teenager, Foster made several appearances on the French pop circuit as a singer. Commenting on her years as a child actress, which she describes as an "actor’s career," Foster has said that "it was very clear to me at a young age that I had to fight for my life and that if I didn’t, my life would get gobbled up and taken away from me." She hosted Saturday Night Live at age 14, making her the youngest person to host at that time until Drew Barrymore hosted at the age of seven. She also said, "I think all of us when we look back on our childhood, we always think of it as somebody else. It's just a completely different place. But I was lucky to be around in the '70s and to be really making movies in the '70s with some great filmmakers — the most exciting time, for me, in American cinema. And I learned a lot from very interesting artists, and I learned a lot about the business at a young age. Because, for whatever reason, I was paying attention. So it was kind of invaluable in my career."
Foster was originally considered for the role of Princess Leia in Star Wars, but was unable to pull out of her contract with Disney. She made her debut (and only official) musical recordings in France in 1977: two 7" singles, "Je T'attends Depuis la Nuit des Temps" b/w "La Vie C'est Chouette" and "When I Looked at Your Face" b/w "La Vie C'est Chouette." The A-side of the former is sung in French, the A-side of the latter in English. The B-side of both is mostly spoken word and is performed in both French and English. These three recordings were included on the soundtrack to Foster's 1977 French film Moi, fleur bleue. Foster also sang in the film Bugsy Malone, for which she received two BAFTA awards in 1976: Best Newcomer and Best Supporting Actress.
At age 14, Foster was nominated for the Academy Award For Best Supporting Actress for her role as a pre-teen prostitute in Martin Scorsese's film, Taxi Driver opposite Robert De Niro. De Niro's character, the deranged Travis Bickle, intends to "save" her from life on the streets. When that doesn't work, he tries to assassinate a presidential candidate. After this fails, he shoots Iris' pimp.
John Hinckley Jr., a deranged fan, became obsessed with her after watching the film a number of times, and he stalked her while she attended Yale, sending her love letters to her campus mail box and even talking to her on the phone. On March 30, 1981, he attempted to assassinate U.S. President Ronald Reagan (shooting and wounding Reagan and three others) and claimed his motive was to impress Foster, then a Yale freshman. The media stormed the Yale campus in April "like a cavalry invasion," and followed Foster relentlessly. In 1982, Foster was called to testify during his trial. After she responded to a question by saying that "I don’t have any relationship with John Hinckley," Hinckley threw a pen at her and yelled "I’ll get you, Foster!" Another man, Edward Richardson, followed Foster around Yale and planned to shoot her, but decided against it because she "was too pretty." This all caused intense discomfort to Foster, who has been known to walk out of interviews if Hinckley's name is even mentioned. In 1991, Foster canceled an interview with NBC's Today Show when she was told Hinckley's name would be mentioned in her introduction. Foster's only public reactions to this were a press conference afterwards and an article entitled Why Me?, which she wrote for Esquire in December 1982, about two years after the assassination attempt. In 1999 she discussed the experience with Charlie Rose of 60 Minutes II. The punk rock band Jodie Foster's Army is named in reference to Hinckley's actions.
Adult career, 1980-present
Unlike other child stars such as Shirley Temple or Tatum O'Neal, Foster successfully made the transition to adult roles, but not without initial difficulty. Several of her post-Taxi Driver works were financially unsuccessful, such as Foxes, The Hotel New Hampshire, Five Corners, and Stealing Home. She had to audition for her role in The Accused. She won the part and the first of her two Golden Globes and Academy Awards as Best Actress for her role as a gang-rape survivor. She earned her second as FBI agent Clarice Starling, opposite Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter, in the 1991 film, The Silence of the Lambs.
She played Laural Sommersby in Sommersby and Annabelle Bransford in the 1994 film Maverick. Sommersby co-star Richard Gere would comment that "She's very much a close-up actress, because her thoughts are clear." In 1997 she starred alongside Matthew McConaughey in the sci-fi movie Contact, based on the novel by scientist Carl Sagan. She portrayed a scientist searching for extra-terrestrial life in the SETI project. She commented on the script that "I have to have some acute personal connection with the material. And that's pretty hard for me to find." Contact was also her first science fiction film, and her first experience with a bluescreen. She commented, "Blue walls, blue roof. It was just blue, blue, blue. And I was rotated on a lazy Susan with the camera moving on a computerized arm. It was really tough." In 1998, an asteroid, 17744 Jodiefoster, was named in her honor.
She made her directorial debut in 1991 with Little Man Tate, a critically acclaimed drama about a child prodigy, in which she also co-starred as the child's mother. She also directed Home For The Holidays (1995), a black comedy starring Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Jr.. In 1992, Foster founded a production company called Egg Pictures in Los Angeles. It primarily produced independent films until it was closed in 2001. Foster said that she didn't have the ambition to produce "big mainstream popcorn" movies, and as a child independent films made her more interested in the movie business than mainstream ones. She began working as a producer in 1994 with the acclaimed Nell, the story of a young woman raised in an isolated place who has to return to civilization. She later commented that it was difficult being an actress and a producer for Nell.
She took over the lead role in Panic Room after Nicole Kidman was injured. She has performed in French-language films, such as Un long dimanche de fiançailles (2004), and speaks French fluently, she dubs her own voice in American movies for releases in French-speaking countries.
After taking time away from the spotlight, Foster returned in the 2005 film Flightplan. Foster portrayed a woman whose daughter disappears on an airplane that Foster's character, an engineer, had helped to design.
The film, Inside Man, a thriller co-starring Denzel Washington and Clive Owen, was released on March 24, 2006, and opened at #1 at the box office. Her latest film is The Brave One, a thriller that was filmed in New York City, both in Manhattan and Brooklyn. It is directed by Neil Jordan and co-stars Terrence Howard. Commenting on her latest roles, Foster has said that she enjoys appearing in mainstream genre films that have a "real heart to them." Indeed, many of her most successful films since the millennium have been thrillers.
At the 2007 Academy Awards she referred to the death of Randy Stone two weeks prior and called him her best friend. She enjoys physical activity while making movies. She commented that doing nude scenes is "a little scary."
Current projects
Foster was set to direct, as well as reunite with actor Robert De Niro, for the film Sugarland. Ultimately the film was shelved indefinitely in 2007. Foster's upcoming films include Nim's Island, where she portrays a reclusive writer who is contacted by a young girl, played by Abigail Breslin, and the bio-flick, Leni Riefenstahl.
Personal life and recognition
She has two sisters and a brother, Lucinda "Cindy" Foster (born 1954), Constance "Connie" Foster (b. 1955), and Lucius "Buddy" Foster (b. 1957). During the filming of both Taxi Driver and The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, Connie was her stand-in.
Foster is intensely private about certain aspects of her personal life, notably her sexual orientation, which has been the subject of speculation. She is currently in a relationship with Cydney Bernard, her partner for over a decade, but has been reluctant to openly discuss any aspect of their relationships with the media. Foster pulled out of the film Double Jeopardy when she became pregnant, and filmed Panic Room during the first months of her second pregnancy. She has two sons, Charles (b. 1998) and Kit (b. 2001); Foster has never identified or discussed their father. Foster does not follow any "traditional religion," but has "great respect for all religions" and enjoys reading religious texts. In an interview, she said she is an atheist.
She gave the Class of 2006 University of Pennsylvania commencement address on May 15, 2006, the university's 250th commencement. The university also conferred on her the Doctor of Arts (honoris causa) degree for her lifelong achievement and contribution to film in both acting and directing.

She learned to adapt quickly to each place she moved and was very well liked.
During her teen years she involved herself in sports such as netball and swimming. AKA Maggie Ruth Gyllenhaal
Born: 16-Nov-1977
Birthplace: New York City
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Secretary
Father: Stephen Gyllenhaal
Mother: Naomi Achs
Brother: Jake Gyllenhaal (actor)
Boyfriend: Peter Sarsgaard (actor, dating and engaged since 2003)
Maggie Ruth Gyllenhaal, is an American actress.
She is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal and the daughter of director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner. Gyllenhaal began her acting career in a film directed by her father, and later achieved recognition in her own right playing her real-life brother's on-screen sister in the cult hit Donnie Darko. Gyllenhaal made her breakthrough in the sadomasochistic romance, Secretary, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination.
Gyllenhaal has chosen an eclectic range of roles, from indie films such as Sherrybaby, for which she was also nominated for a Golden Globe, to the romantic comedy Trust the Man and big-budget studio films such as World Trade Center and The Dark Knight.
Gyllenhaal is a politically active Democrat and like her brother and parents supports the American Civil Liberties Union. Gyllenhaal participated in anti-war demonstrations in the lead-up to the US-led invasion of Iraq and achieved some notoriety for being quoted as saying America was "responsible in some way" for the 9/11 attacks
Gyllenhaal was born in New York City, to film director Stephen Gyllenhaal and film producer and screenwriter Naomi Achs. Gyllenhaal's father was raised in the Swedenborgian religion and is a descendant of the Swedish noble Gyllenhaal family; her last Swedish ancestor was his great-great-grandfather, Anders Leonard Gyllenhaal. Her mother is from a New York City Jewish-American family, and is the ex-wife of Eric Foner, a history professor at Columbia University.
Gyllenhaal grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from the Harvard-Westlake prep school. While there, she attended a semester away program in Vershire, Vermont called The Mountain School. She graduated from Columbia University in 1998 with a BA in literature and Eastern religions and spent a summer studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Career
Gyllenhaal's first film roles were directed by her father: Waterland (1992), her feature film debut, A Dangerous Woman (1993), and Homegrown (1998), the latter two also featured her brother. After graduating from college, she had a number of supporting roles, in such films as 40 Days and 40 Nights, Riding in Cars with Boys and Cecil B. DeMented. Paper Magazine has described these roles, including her casting as Donnie Darko`s sister opposite real-life brother Jake, as "the girl you're not supposed to notice".
Gyllenhaal's break-out role was in the black comedy Secretary (2002), a film about two people who embark on a mutually fulfilling BDSM lifestyle. The film earned Gyllenhaal widespread acclaim including a Golden Globe nomination, and marked the first time Gyllenhaal performed full frontal nudity on camera. Although impressed with the script, Gyllenhaal initially had some qualms about doing the film, which she believed could deliver an antifeminist message. But after carefully discussing the script with the film's director, Steven Shainberg, she agreed to join the project. Although insisting Shainberg did not exploit her, Gyllenhaal has said she felt "slightly taken advantage of" and in agreeing to do certain scenes she "conceded in a way that maybe in retrospect I wish I hadn't."
Gyllenhaal then had a series of supporting roles in films such as the Spike Jonze/Charlie Kaufman comedy Adaptation., and Mona Lisa Smile starring Julia Roberts. She also appeared in smaller independent films such as John Sayles's Casa de los Babys, and Criminal with John C. Reilly and Diego Luna. Another notable appearance was in Happy Endings in which she played a singer, and recorded songs for the movie's soundtrack. She also recently played a love interest of Harold Crick, played by Will Ferrell, in Stranger Than Fiction.
Gyllenhaal has also appeared in theatre. She starred as Alice in the Mark Taper Forum production of Patrick Marber's Closer, and performed at the Taper in a production of Tony Kushner's Homebody/ Kabul. Kushner gave Gyllenhaal the role in Homebody/ Kabul on the strength of her performance in Closer.
She has modeled for Miu Miu, Reebok and Agent Provocateur.
She is also working on in The Dark Knight, the sequel to Batman Begins, in which she replaces Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes.
In 2004, Gyllenhaal was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Personal life
Gyllenhaal has been in a relationship with actor Peter Sarsgaard since 2002. They announced their engagement in April 2006. They have a daughter, Ramona, born on October 3, 2006, and reside in Brooklyn, NY. Sarsgaard is close friends with her brother Jake.
Controversy
Gyllenhaal drew fire for a comment made during an interview with NY1 at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival where she suggested that the United States was somewhat responsible for the September 11, 2001 attacks. She remarked, "I think America has done reprehensible things and is responsible in some way..." In response to the criticism, she issued a statement saying that 9/11 was "an occasion to be brave enough to ask some serious questions about America's role in the world" and that it was "useful as individuals or nations to ask how we may have knowingly or unknowingly contributed to this conflict." She pointedly denied saying that the 9/11 attacks were deserved. Gyllenhaal later said that she regretted her comments, and asserted that film interviews were not the "right place" to discuss politics. Gyllenhaal also said that she had "nothing but gratitude and admiration" for firefighters and that she should have "been more gentle and more thoughtful" in her comments.
Gyllenhaal eventually met with Port Authority officer Will Jimeno and his wife, Allison, whom Gyllenhaal depicted in the 2006 film World Trade Center. Gyllenhaal said she would have left the project if the Jimenos wanted, but Allison Jimeno expressed that she and her husband were comfortable with her and "had no problem with her in [the] movie

Holland was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of cinematographer Keith Holland and actress Darnell Gregorio-De Palma. She has two sisters, Brianna Holland (born 1988) and Piper De Palma (born 1996). Holland spent the earlier part of her childhood in Chelsea, London. Holland spent the summer of 1999 in the Hamptons of Long Island with her family. After a day playing at Steven Spielberg's home, the seed was planted that she should spend her life acting in film. Spielberg told her mother "You've got to put her in front of a camera!".
Upon her return to Los Angeles that September, Holland first signed with Ford Modeling Agency. She began getting work immediately: her first job was for Burberry of London, where she had much success.
The following year, 1999, De Palma took Willa to a theatrical talent agency. Since then she has shot many national commercials. During 2001 when Willa was ten, she worked alongside her cinematographer father in Ordinary Madness. AKA Tracy Dawn Scoggins
Born: 13-Nov-1953
Birthplace: Dickinson, TX
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Lochley on Babylon-5
The youngest child of two attorneys, Scoggins was a prodigious athlete during her high school years, excelling in numerous sports including gymnastics and diving. She graduated from Dickinson High School at the age of sixteen and enrolled in Southwest Texas State University, where she studied physical education. While at SWTSU, Scoggins nearly qualified for a spot on the 1980 Olympic diving team, however if she had done, she would not have competed as USA boycotted the Olympics that year.
Following graduation, Scoggins briefly taught physical education before being recruited by John Casablancas of the Elite modeling agency. Elite sent Scoggins to New York, where she worked for a year before taking of the European modeling circuit, including assignments in Italy, Germany, and France.
Scoggins returned to the United States and studied with the Herbert Berghoff Studio and the Wynn Hanmann Studio in hopes of launching an acting career. Her first role was in The Dukes of Hazzard (in a memorable role as a fake deputy sheriff) and then the TV movie Twirl, which also starred Heather Locklear. She was soon cast as a regular in the short-lived 1983 television series Renegades. After more guest roles in episodic television series such as Remington Steele, T. J. Hooker, and The A-Team, Scoggins then landed her most prominent role on the much publicised Dynasty spin-off series The Colbys, playing Monica Colby, the daughter of Charlton Heston's character. Following the cancellation of The Colbys after two seasons, Scoggins reprised the role of Monica Colby in the final season of Dynasty along with her screen-mother Sable played by Stephanie Beacham.
Scoggins landed a number of recurring or short-term roles on television series in the 1980s and 1990s, including Catherine 'Cat' Grant in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Amanda Carpenter on Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years, Elizabeth Lochley on Babylon 5 and its spin-off Crusade, Cassandra on Highlander, and Anita Smithfield in two Dallas TV movies (Dallas: JR Returns and Dallas: War Of The Ewings). This was not actually her first role in Dallas as she had previously played a small part (as another character) in a 1983 episode of the series.
She was also one of several Babylon 5 actors to guest star in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Scoggins guest starred in the episode "Destiny" as Gilora Rejal, a Cardassian engineer who became infatuated with Miles O'Brien.
Alan Spencer, cult figure and creator of the TV show "Sledge Hammer!" cast Scoggins in a pilot produced for CBS called "Galaxy Beat." The pilot didn't sell, but Spencer and Scoggins remain close friends. Spencer says she's "one of the funniest people on earth and also one of the best."
In 2005, Scoggins played a main character on the GLBT horror series Dante's Cove. In 2006, she also had a guest role in the fourth season premiere of hit TV show Nip/Tuck, and has more recently returned to the role of Elizabeth Lochley in a new direct-to-DVD Babylon 5 production, "The Lost Tales".

Born: 12-Nov-1982
Birthplace: Brooklyn, NY
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: The Princess Diaries
Father: Gerard Hathaway (lawyer)
Mother: Kate McCauley (stage actress)
Brother: (two brothers; one older, one younger)
Boyfriend: Topher Grace (actor, That 70s Show; "casually dated" 1999-2004)
Hathaway was born in Brooklyn, New York to Gerald Hathaway, a lawyer, and Kate McCauley, an actress who inspired Hathaway to follow in her footsteps. She was not named after the wife of playwright William Shakespeare. She has an older brother, Michael, and a younger brother, Thomas. Hathaway has mainly Irish and French ancestry, with more distant German and Native American roots. She was raised in the Catholic religion with what she considers "really strong values", and wanted to be a nun during her childhood. However, at fifteen, she decided not to become a nun after learning that her brother Michael was gay. Although she was raised as a Catholic, she felt that she could not be part of a religion that disapproved of her brother's sexual orientation.
Hathaway was raised in Short Hills, New Jersey and graduated from Millburn High School where she was in many school plays. She spent several semesters studying at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York before transferring to New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. She referred to her college enrollment as one of her best decisions because she enjoyed being with others who were trying to successfully "grow up". Hathaway was a member of the Barrow Group Theater Company's acting program and the first teenager admitted. She is a trained stage actress and has stated that she prefers appearing on stage to film roles.
Hathaway, a soprano, performed twice in 1998 with the All Eastern U.S. High School Honors Chorus at Carnegie Hall and has performed in plays at Seton Hall Prep in West Orange. Three days after performing at Carnegie Hall, she was cast in the short-lived 1999 television series Get Real.
2001-2004 career development.
Hathaway starred in Get Real for one season, after which it was cancelled. Her first major film role was in The Other Side of Heaven (2001) opposite Christopher Gorham, but before production began in New Zealand, she auditioned for the lead role of Mia Thermopolis in the Garry Marshall-directed The Princess Diaries (2001). Marshall cast her immediately because she fell off her chair during the audition and his granddaughters thought that she had nice hair. Hathaway enjoyed filming The Princess Diaries and called it "really fun". It was released before Heaven because of its comedic-oriented plot, which critics said was effective because of her casting; a reviewer for BBC wrote that "Hathaway shines in the title role, and generates great chemistry". Across the world, the film was a commercial success and a sequel was planned shortly after. The Other Side of Heaven was received weakly by critics, but it performed well for a Christian-themed film.
Hathaway continued appearing in comedy-oriented films and was known in the media as a children's role model. The following year, she starred in Nicholas Nickleby (2002) opposite Charlie Hunnam and Jamie Bell, which opened to positive reviews; the Northwest Herald referred to it as "an unbelievably fun film" and the Deseret News said that the cast was "Oscar-worthy". Despite critical acclaim, the film never entered wide release and failed at the North American box office (totaling less than US$4 million). Hathaway's next role was in Ella Enchanted (2004), the film adaptation of the award-winning novel. It received indifferent reviews: the Chicago Tribune called it "shiny candy that tastes oddly familiar yet lacks sugary punch", and the New York Times felt that it was "clichéd and forgetful". However, the Dallas Morning News cited Tommy O'Haver's directing-style as "a Flintstones-like humor to the setting by melding modern with medieval culture".
In 2004 Hathaway was to star opposite Gerard Butler in The Phantom of the Opera, but she rejected the role because of her conflicting contract with Disney, which she was unhappy about. Disney began production on The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement in early 2004 and it was initially going to be filmed in Prague, but the location was changed to Los Angeles, where the "kingdom" of Genovia was built. The film opened to negative reviews and peaked higher at the box office than its predecessor, but ended with lower ticket sales.
2005-present career transition
Hathaway began appearing in less comedic-oriented films after The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. She said that "anybody who was a role model for children needs a reprieve", although she also noted that "it's lovely to think that my audience is growing up with me", a reference to her previous status as a children's actress. She voiced a version of Little Red Riding Hood in Hoodwinked (2005), which received generally mixed reviews. That same year, Hathaway was cast in the mature-rated Havoc (2005), in which she played a spoiled socialite. In a surprise move, Hathaway was featured in several nude and sexual scenes throughout the film. She also appeared in the drama Brokeback Mountain (2005), opposite Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, appearing nude in the film as well. Havoc was not released in theatres in the United States (but was later released in other countries) because of its weak critical reception, but Brokeback Mountain won rave reviews for its depiction of a homosexual relationship in the 1960s, and received several Academy Award nominations, including "Best Picture". Hathaway asserted that its content was more important than its award count.
Hathaway's next film was The Devil Wears Prada (2006), in which she starred as an assistant to a powerful fashion magazine editor (Meryl Streep, whom she described as being "just divine"). Hathaway said that working on the film earned her respect in the fashion industry, but she claims that her personal style is something she "can't get right" and instead prefers "doing the things she loves".
Hathaway was initially cast in the 2007 comedy Knocked Up but dropped out before filming began. Writer/director Judd Apatow stated in a May 2007 issue of The New York Times Magazine that Hathaway dropped out "because she didn't want to allow us to use real footage of a woman giving birth to create the illusion that she is giving birth." Katherine Heigl replaced Hathaway. In an August 2007 interview with Marie Claire magazine, Hathaway commented on an unnamed film "I turned [it] down ... because it was going to show a vagina -- not mine, but somebody else's. And I didn't believe that it was actually necessary to the story."
Hathaway was then seen in Becoming Jane, in which she stars as English writer Jane Austen, released in mid 2007. She will also star as Agent 99 in the screen adaptation of the TV series Get Smart, which will premiere in 2008, and has recently signed onto the Hoodwinked sequel, Hood vs. Evil.
Personal life
Hathaway enjoys interior design and reading as pastimes, and has stated that she is a non-denominational Christian. She has cited Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead (1943) as her favorite novel. Since 2004, Hathaway has been in a relationship with real estate developer Raffaello Follieri. Follieri started the Follieri Foundation, a charity that provides medical assistance for children living in third-world nations. Hathaway began doing charity work with her boyfriend after realizing that she used to feel sorry for herself while "having everything".
In regards to personal strife and subsequent media attention, Hathaway's self-subscribed mantra is a quote by Oscar Wilde: "the less said about life's sores the better."

Moore was born Demetria Gene Guynes in Roswell, New Mexico, and spent much of her childhood and teenage years in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania, a small town south of Pittsburgh. As a child, she had a difficult and unstable home life. Her biological father, Charles Harmon, left her mother, Virginia King, after a two-month marriage, before Moore was born. As a result, Moore had the surname of her stepfather, Danny Guynes, on her birth certificate. Danny Guynes, who committed suicide in 1980, frequently changed jobs and made the family move a total of forty times. Moore's parents were also alcoholics and often fought and beat each other. Operations on Moore's left eye during childhood required her to wear an eyepatch. During that time, she also suffered from a bad kidney.
Moore's family settled in Los Angeles in 1976. When Moore was sixteen, her then-friend, actress Nastassja Kinski, persuaded her to drop out of Hollywood's Fairfax High School, where her schoolmates included Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis and actor Timothy Hutton, to become an actress. In 1979, she met and then married her first husband, songwriter Freddy Moore. By the time they divorced in 1985, she had acquired the last name Moore.

Birth name Miranda Lambert
Born November 10, 1983 (1983-11-10) (age 23)
Origin Lindale, Texas, USA
Genre(s) country music
Occupation(s) singer-songwriter
Instrument(s) rhythm guitar, vocals
Miranda Lambert was born in Longview, Texas, and grew up in Lindale, Texas. Her mother was a private investigator and her father, Rick Lambert, was a country music guitarist and songwriter. Lambert became interested in country music after attending a Garth Brooks concert as a young girl. She soon began singing in talent contests under the tutelage of her father.
At 16, Lambert began appearing on the Johnny High Country Music Review in Arlington, Texas, the same show that helped launch the career of LeAnn Rimes. Lambert quickly landed a recording session in Nashville, but left the studio after she became frustrated with the "pop" sound of music. Upon returning to Texas, Lambert began writing songs and taking guitar lessons from her father.
When Lambert's aptitude for music became apparent, her parents encouraged her to pursue singing and acting opportunities. While still a high school student, Lambert made her professional singing debut and fronted the house band at the Reo Palm Isle Ballroom in Longview, Texas, a long-running venue that has showcased Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson.
Forgoing college, Lambert performed throughout Texas in 2001 and 2002. She finished first in the Texas auditions for Nashville Star and eventually placed third in the national competition. She also finished second when auditioning to portray Tammy Wynette in the musical play of Wynette's life which debuted in 2001. On September 15, 2003, she signed with Sony Records. Her debut album, Kerosene, was released on March 5, 2005.
Music career
Lambert joined a select group of artists when her first album, Kerosene, debuted at number one on the country charts. Lambert wrote or co-wrote 11 of the 12 tracks on the album, which met with wide critical acclaim. Following the success of her platinum selling debut album, Lambert spent much of late 2005 and early 2006 as the opening act for artists such as Keith Urban and George Strait. Concert reviews noted her exceptional stage presence and helped her gain exposure in the country music industry.
Lambert's first single on the Billboard charts was "Me and Charlie Talkin'", which she co-wrote with her father. It was released in the spring of 2005. The second single to be released from her debut album was entitled "Bring Me Down". Lambert penned this hit with friend and fellow writer Travis Howard. The final single from "Kerosene" was a song she wrote by herself, called "New Strings", which was released in May of 2006.
Lambert's career took off following an electric performance of "Kerosene" at the 2005 Country Music Association Awards in New York City. In a show that was uncharacteristically dominated by slow country ballads. Lambert brought the crowd to its feet when columns of fire leapt from the stage at the end of the song. "Kerosene" subsequently became Lambert's first top-twenty hit.
Lambert's second album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was released on May 1, 2007. She wrote 8 of the 11 songs on the album. She tells Blender Magazine that there were ballads that she wrote from her heart. "It was scary, but I feel like my fans deserve that from me." While Miranda did not write three of the songs on her new album, she chose artists such as Carlene Carter, Patty Griffin, and Emmylou Harris, to write the other three songs.
The song "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" charted after Miranda performed the song at the CMA Awards. However, it has been confirmed that the song was not actually intended to be a single. In a newsletter, Miranda stated that "Famous In a Small Town" will actually be the first official single from her second album.
In early 2007, Lambert opened for Toby Keith on his Big Dog Daddy Tour. Following a few months with Keith, she will be re-joining Dierks Bentley on his Live and Loud Tour. Joining them on the road, she will alternate between Eric Church and Jason Aldean. Lambert and Aldean have been on several tours together, and also have a duet together on Aldean's album Relentless. Following its release, the album debuted at number six on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling about 53,000 copies in its first week.

Tara Reid was making commercials for Jell-O when she was in grade school, and joined the cast of Saved by the Bell: The New Class after graduating from New York's Professional Children's School. When that job ended quickly, her then-boyfriend, soap opera actor Steve Burton, got Reid a recurring role on Days of Our Lives. She had made her big-screen debut at 13, in the schlocky Stephen King adaptation A Return to Salem's Lot, but became famous a dozen years later for American Pie.
Reid is often spotted with noted celebrity hobnobbers Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Lindsay Lohan. In July 2001, Reid spent several hours partying with publicity maven Lizzie Grubman, just before Grubman ran down 16 pedestrians with her Mercedes SUV outside a Long Island night club.
Reid had an unfortunate moment at P. Diddy's 2004 birthday party. "I took my jacket off and my strap fell off. It was awful. The photographers were like lunatics -- high-fiving each other in front of me. It was so embarrassing. There were so many paparazzi and the flashbulbs were going off, I couldn't see anything." Of course, in all the pictures, she was grinning enormously.
She received a boob job in 2004, and says her intent was to balance her breasts -- the right one had been a little bigger than the left. She later complained, though, that her plastic surgeon had botched the job and made her into a C cup when she had asked only for big Bs.

AKA Dana Michelle Plato
Born: 7-Nov-1964
Birthplace: Maywood, CA
Died: 9-May-1999
Location of death: Moore, OK
Cause of death: Suicide
Remains: Cremated, Scattered over Pacific Ocean
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Bisexual
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Kimberly on Diff'rent Strokes
Mother: Linda Strain (birth mother)
Mother: Kay
Father: Dean
Husband: Lanny C. Lambert (m. Apr-1984, div. 1985)
Son: Tyler Edward Lambert (b. 2-Jul-1984)
Boyfriend: Robert Menchaca
Plato began having drug and alcohol problems early in life. At age 14, she overdosed on Valium. She also, by her own admission, drank and used recreational drugs during her years on Diff'rent Strokes.
In 1988, Plato's adoptive mother, Kay, died from a blood disease. Shortly thereafter, her marriage to Lanny Lambert began to fall apart. The couple officially divorced in 1990, with Lambert getting custody of their only child, Tyler (born 1985). During this time, Plato posed nude for Playboy, appearing in the June 1989 issue. The issue was notable for featuring Hugh Hefner's new wife, Kimberley Conrad. Conrad's inclusion took a considerable amount of attention away from Plato's pictorial.
In 1991, Plato found herself in Las Vegas with no work. She took a job at a dry-cleaning store to support herself. One day, she entered a video store, produced a gun and demanded the money from the register. She was arrested minutes later. Las Vegas entertainer Wayne Newton posted her $13,000 bail bond. Plato was given five years' probation. The gun was only a pellet gun and the robbery netted Plato less than $200. She made headlines and became part of the national debate over troubled child stars, particularly given the difficulties of her Diff'rent Strokes co-stars, Gary Coleman and Todd Bridges. Plato's actions were seen by many as a cry for help and she was placed on probation, but in January 1992, she was again arrested, this time for forging a prescription for Valium. She served 30 days in jail for violation of the terms of her probation and entered drug rehab immediately thereafter.
Following her appearance in the movie Different Strokes: The Story of Jack and Jill...and Jill, Plato appeared on the cover of the lesbian lifestyle magazine, Girlfriends, in 1998. She was interviewed by Diane Anderson-Minshall and "came out" as bisexual. It was reported that Plato showed up drunk for the magazine's cover shoot.
In her interview with Howard Stern, Plato mentioned that the traumatic events of her mother's death and her husband leaving her took place during the course of only a week. In desperation, she signed over power of attorney to an accountant who absconded with the majority of her money, leaving her with no more than $150,000. She claimed that the accountant was never found, despite an exhaustive search, and had stolen a grand total of more than $11 million (U.S. dollars) of other people's money as well.
Just before her death, she and her fiance, Robert Menchaca, were living in an RV in Navarre, Florida.

On September 19, 2005, Rebecca announced her engagement to actor Jerry O'Connell. The date of the announcement was controversial, as it would have been her seventh anniversary with Stamos, if not for their divorce.

After her parents divorced, Ryan O'Neal obtained custody and Tatum was exposed to his celebrity, bachelor lifestyle, as well as his temper.
In 1986, O'Neal wed tennis superstar John McEnroe. No one from her family attended the ceremony. The couple had three children: Kevin, Sean, and Emily. The couple divorced in 1992. After the divorce, Tatum's drug problems re-emerged and she developed an addiction to heroin. As a result of her drug problems, McEnroe obtained custody of the children in 1998.
In her early 20s she left show business to marry tennis star John McEnroe, and eight years and three children later they divorced. She has resumed her acting career to little acclaim, most notably with a starring role in The Scoundrel's Wife with Tim Curry, a recurring role on Rescue Me with Denis Leary, a few weeks of fox trotting on Dancing with the Stars, and supporting roles in a few films that have not been widely released.
She made waves with her 2004 autobiography, A Paper Life, portraying her early years as an unremitting hell. In the book, she writes that her father beat her after she won her Oscar, Melanie Griffith dragged her into an orgy when she was 12, 17-year-old Michael Jackson almost molested her, she was molested by her father's drug dealer, she became addicted to cocaine and heroin, attempted suicide, and that McEnroe beat her and treated her almost as a slave.

AKA Jennifer McCarthy
Born: 1-Nov-1972
Birthplace: Chicago, IL
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Model
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Early-nineties Playboy model; Singled Out
Boyfriend: Ray Manzella (her manager, ex-)
Husband: John Mallory Asher (film director, b. 13-Jan-1971, m. 11-Sep-1999, div. 2005, one son)
Son: Evan Joseph Asher (autistic, b. 18-May-2002 with Asher)
Boyfriend: Jim Carrey (actor, dated 2006-)
McCarthy was born in Chicago, Illinois, to a middle-class Irish American Catholic family that lived in the West Elsdon neighborhood. She is the second of four daughters; her sisters are named Joanne, Amy and Lynette. Her mother, Linda, was a housewife, and her father, Dan McCarthy, was a steel mill foreman. She attended St. Turibius Grade School on Chicago's South Side. As a teenager, McCarthy attended Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School (whose school sweater she donned in the pages of Playboy) and was cheerleader at both Brother Rice High School and St. Laurence High Schools, although she has referred to herself as an "outcast" at her school. After McCarthy graduated from high school, she attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale to study nursing. She needed money to pay for college, so she decided to submit her picture to Playboy magazine to make money. She was accepted and became a model.
Modeling and acting career
After getting accepted by Playboy in 1993, the magazine wanted her to pose for the October issue. McCarthy was paid $30,000 for the photo shoot. McCarthy became the Playmate of the Month and later the Playmate of the Year. With this, McCarthy gained attention and popularity. In 1994, McCarthy moved to Los Angeles. For a time, she hosted Hot Rocks, a Playboy TV show featuring uncensored music videos.
In 1995, MTV chose McCarthy to be the host of a new dating show called Singled Out, for which she left Hot Rocks. Her job as a host was a success, and Playboy wanted her to do more modeling. In 1996, McCarthy landed a small part in the comedy The Stupids. In 1997 McCarthy launched two shows. The first one was an MTV sketch comedy show called The Jenny McCarthy Show, which was popular enough that NBC signed her to do a sitcom later that year called Jenny. The latter show is generally considered a disappointment and was quickly canceled. Also in 1997, she appeared on one of two covers for the September issue of Playboy, the other cover had Pamela Anderson on the cover. McCarthy also released an autobiography: Jen-X.
In 1998, McCarthy starred in BASEketball. In 1999, she starred in Diamonds, a movie which was directed by her husband John Mallory Asher. The next year, she appeared in the horror movie Scream 3. Since 2001, McCarthy has guest-starred in such shows as Stacked, Charmed, The Drew Carey Show, Fastlane and Just Shoot Me!.
In 2003, McCarthy appeared in Scary Movie 3 along with model and actress Pamela Anderson. In 2005, McCarthy produced, wrote and starred in Dirty Love along with Carmen Electra. The same year, McCarthy hosted a new show on E! called Party at the Palms. The reality show, which is filmed at The Palms Hotel in Las Vegas, features hotel guests, party goers and celebrities. In March 2006, she was given Razzie Awards for "Worst Actress," "Worst Screenplay," and "Worst Picture" for her work on Dirty Love, which also netted her then-husband, John Asher, a Razzie for "Worst Director."
McCarthy has continued her work with Playboy over the years, both as a model and in other capacities. She graced the cover of the magazine's January 2005 issue wearing a leopard skin bunny suit and was featured in a pictorial shot at Elvis Presley's Graceland mansion in the same issue. She was the second woman (Carmen Electra was the first) and first Playmate to become a celebrity photographer for the Playboy Cyber Club, getting behind the camera to photograph model Jennifer Madden, who is not a Playmate.
Jenny's younger sister, Amy, has also posed for Playboy. She was a Cyber Girl of the Week and the Cyber Girl of the Month for January 2005.
Public persona
In June 2007 Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) named McCarthy as spokesperson. Her stated goal is to educate the public that autism is treatable. She will be participating in fundraisers, online chats and other activities for the not-for-profit organization to help families affected by autism. Her first fundraiser for TACA, Ante Up for Autism , is scheduled for October 20, 2007 in Irvine, CA.
Though McCarthy initially rose to fame because of her sexual image, a frequent source of her celebrity derives from toilet humor.
Another Candies ad found McCarthy passing gas in a crowded elevator. A sketch on her MTV show centered around her character, a well-coifed business woman, answering the question of "What did you have for lunch?" by forcing herself to vomit all over a table (which she then ate on-screen). The direct contrast of McCarthy's reputation as a sex symbol and this often grotesque humor is closely associated with her image. This image was taken to a new extreme in her film Dirty Love, which featured McCarthy's character sitting in a massive pool of her own menstrual blood
