Angela Devi (born Angela Shunali Dhingra, July 30, 1975 - March 31, 2006) was an American adult model. According to her website, she was born in New York City; she originally became known through her modeling work for Foxes.com and later on her own website, AngelaDevi.com. She also sold several self-produced videos over the Internet in which she spoke directly to the tripod-mounted camera, and thus to the viewer. These included titles such as Clothing Optional, Chocolate Covered Cherry, and Boobie Squeezing Cookie Teasing. She is also noted for being one of the first pornographic actresses from an Indian background.
Death
On April 1, 2006, rumors began circulating that AngelaDevi.com had displayed an announcement that Devi had died and that the site was no longer available to new members. Within 24 hours the announcement of her death had been removed, but the site remained unavailable to new members, ultimately closing on April 30, 2006. Few claim actually seeing the notice, but most fans did see a message stating that the site would not be accepting new members, and will be closing on April 30, as it did. The domain's DNS records were removed shortly thereafter, but have since been restored and are redirecting to Foxes.com.
On August 6, Lukeisback.com, a website specializing in the gossip and behind-the-scenes activities of the porn industry, posted copies of the police report, filed April 1, regarding Devi's death. Devi's body was found inside her residence in Scottsdale, Arizona at about 10:17 a.m. on March 31. The official cause of death was suicide by asphyxiation. A garbage bag in the kitchen was found to contain "a glass with a straw and several empty Xanax packages. The empty packages previously contained 115 0.5 mg pills that were unaccounted for.

AKA Geetali Norah Jones Shankar
Born: 30-Mar-1979
Birthplace: New York City
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: Multiracial
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Singer
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Come Away With Me
Father: Ravi Shankar (musician)
Mother: Sue Jones (promoter, former dancer)
Sister: Anoushka Shankar (musician, half-sister)

Born as Geethali Norah Jones Shankar in Brooklyn, New York, she later changed her name officially to Norah Jones at the age of 16. The daughter of the sitar maestro Ravi Shankar and Sue Jones, she spent her childhood with her mother, who moved to the Fort Worth suburb of Grapevine, Texas, when Jones was four. She attended Colleyville Middle School, followed by a short period at Grapevine High School before transferring to Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas. She admitted that her only formal singing training was at Colleyville Middle School (where she took choir) and at Booker T. Washington (where she took a choir class also). While at Colleyville, she was in band as well and played the alto saxophone. She has always liked the music of Bill Evans and Billie Holiday among others from the 'oldies' section and considers Willie Nelson her idol. She has been quoted as saying, "My mom had this eight-album Billie Holiday set, I picked out one disc that I liked and played that over and over again."
Jones began singing in church choirs, taking piano lessons, and even briefly trying out the alto saxophone. She attended Interlochen Arts Camp, Grapevine High School, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas. While at high school, she won the DownBeat Student Music Awards for Best Jazz Vocalist (twice, in 1996 and 1997) and Best Original Composition (1996). She then attended the University of North Texas, where she majored in jazz piano. Classmates included American Idol finalist Brandon Rogers and Grammy-nominated songwriter David Angerstein. In 1999, two years into the program, Jones left for New York City. Since about that time she has been romantically involved with bassist Lee Alexander.
Musical career
Early days
Jones was a lounge singer before becoming a recording artist. Jones played with numerous artists and bands including Wax Poetic and the Peter Malick Group. Jones performed quite frequently with guitarist Charlie Hunter in 2001 and appeared on Outkast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below album in a duet with André 3000 in 2003. While Jones is best-known for her sultry-yet-powerful vocal style, often compared to that of Billie Holiday or Nina Simone, her abilities as a jazz pianist have likewise been celebrated. On January 19, 2003 Jones appeared as a guest on Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz on NPR, performing jazz standards such as "September in the Rain" and "I Can't Get Started," and later that year she appeared again with McPartland at the Tanglewood Jazz Festival, performing more standards such as "Lover Man" and "Walking My Baby Back Home". She has performed at the New Orleans Jazz Festival in both 2004 and 2005.
Debut album: Come Away with Me
Her debut album, Come Away with Me, debuted in February 2002 and was instantly celebrated for its blending of mellow, acoustic pop with soul and country. It hit number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, with the single "Don't Know Why" hitting number one on the Top 40 Adult Recurrents in 2003. It won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards. She made a cameo appearance in the 2002 movie Two Weeks Notice playing the piano and singing "Nearness of You" at the fundraiser. "Come Away With Me" has sold over 20 million copies and is the second-best selling album of the decade so far, behind The Beatles' 1.
Second album: Feels like Home
Her second album, Feels like Home, is a very good song
Third album: Not Too Late
Main article: Not Too Late
Her third album, Not Too Late, was released by Blue Note Records on January 30, 2007. The album is Jones's first for which she wrote or co-wrote every song, and according to her, some of them are much darker than those on her previous albums. Not Too Late was mostly recorded at Jones's home studio and is the first album Jones recorded without producer Arif Mardin, who died in the summer of 2006. Jones described the sessions as "fun, relaxed and easy" and without a deadline; executives at Blue Note Records reportedly did not know they were recording an album. The song "My Dear Country" is a political satire; she wrote it before the United States Presidential election day in 2004.
Not Too Late reached the #1 position in twenty countries and reached #1 on the United World Chart with sales over 720,000 in its first week. It is the third best first week album sales of 2007 after Avril Lavigne's third album The Best Damn Thing and Linkin Park's third album Minutes to Midnight. The album became the 800th album to reach the top spot on the UK chart. It also reached #1 in the U.S. with 405,000 copies sold. According to a press release from EMI, Not Too Late is certified gold or platinum in twenty-one countries as of February 2007. The album has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide, according to media traffic. But with shipment it sold 4 million copies. The first single, "Thinking About You", became Jones's first single to chart on the U.S. Hot 100 since "Don't Know Why".
Tours
Throughout 2002 and 2003 Jones appeared on stages, globally, for her first tour with the Handsome Band, travelling throughout Asia, America, Europe and Oceania. The tour was received with numerous sell-out concerts and positive critical acclaim.
Jones began a United States concert tour to promote her third album, Not Too Late, on April 13, 2007, and ending with a free concert in New York City on July 6, 2007. Pre-sales of tickets to the shows were made available to her fan club members, and many sold out well before the performance date. She begins her European tour on July 9, 2007 in Paris, and finishing with a concert in London on August 27, 2007, in Sopot on August 31 and in Reykjavík, Iceland on September 2, 2007.
While playing with the Handsome Band, Jones & co. are known to play several known hits from her albums, modified for stage performance with guitar solos and additional percussion. Additionally, shows may also feature several covers of country, jazz, blues, or folk songs, ranging from the ubiquitous to the obscure. Artists covered have included, among others, Willie Nelson, Gram Parsons, Randy Newman, and Tom Waits.
Jones is working with Reverb, a non-profit environmental organization, for her 2007 summer tour. The Singer also performed at Bryant Park on July 6 as part of Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series.
Nominations and awards
Come Away with Me was heavily nominated for the Grammy Awards of 2003. Of the eight awards for Come Away with Me, Jones personally received five. "Don't Know Why" was also performed on an episode of Sesame Street, in which Jones changed the lyrics to "Don't know why Y didn't come," and thereby introduced the letter Y to the young audience.
Jones received three awards at the Grammy Awards of 2005, including "Record of the Year" and "Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals" for her collaboration with Ray Charles on the song "Here We Go Again". She personally earned her eighth Grammy (and eleventh overall) for "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance" for her song "Sunrise". That year, Jones appeared on the self-titled record by Amos Lee.
Jones also collaborated with the Foo Fighters on their 2005 record In Your Honor, singing vocals with Dave Grohl on "Virginia Moon". The song was nominated for a "Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal" in 2006.
On screen
Norah Jones's cameo in the 2002 film Two Weeks Notice shows her briefly at the piano, singing for a charity benefit.
In the latter part of 2003, rumors emerged that veteran Indian filmmaker Dev Anand was planning to make the film Song of Life, inspired by Jones's troubled relationship with her father, Ravi Shankar. Both Jones and Shankar were enraged by the rumors; Jones commented, "[Anand] has no idea of our story, and he's not going to represent it in a truthful way, I'm sure. It's sad because it's personal stuff and nobody's business but ours."
Jones appeared in a 2004 episode of Sesame street.
In February 2006, Screen International reported that Jones would make her acting debut in a film directed by Wong Kar-wai. The film, My Blueberry Nights, was the opening film for the 2007 Cannes Film Festival as one of the 22 films in competition.
In January 2007, Norah Jones recorded a live session at Abbey Road Studios for Live From Abbey Road. The episode that she shared with John Mayer and Richard Ashcroft was aired in the UK on Channel 4 in March 2007 and in the USA on the Sundance Channel in June 2007.
She has appeared twice on the PBS series Austin City Limits, first on November 2, 2002 and second on October 6, 2007. The latter appearance was the season opener for the long-running series.

Nationality: New Zealand
Executive summary: Xena, Warrior Princess

As a girl, Lucy Lawless appeared in several musicals staged by her high school, and studied opera at Auckland University, but dropped out. She worked as a gold miner, truck driver, and cartographer, and was already married and a mother before show biz beckoned -- when she won the Mrs. New Zealand beauty pageant in 1989.
The marriage did not last, but wearing that crown she made a few TV commercials, and when her reign was finished she joined Funny Business, a comedy troupe with a weekly sketch TV show. She subsequently hosted a travel show and co-starred in the down-under sitcom For the Love of Mike. Her first prominent film role was 1992's Rainbow Warrior, the tale of the sinking of the Greenpeace ship, alongside Jon Voight and Sam Neill.
Her big break came in 1994, with a smallish role as Lysia in the pilot for Kevin Sorbo's semi-silly TV series, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Dyeing her hair a darker color, she later played Xena on Hercules, and the viewer response convinced the studio that Xena should have her own show. Hercules ran four years with middling ratings, while Xena wore the breastplate of righteousness for six seasons, and spent much of that time as the most popular syndicated show in America. Midway through Xena's run, she married the show's executive producer, Rob Tapert.

AKA Elanor Nancy Gow
Born: 29-Mar-1963
Birthplace: Killara, Sydney, Australia
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Model
Nationality: Australia
Executive summary: Tall supermodel
Father: Neil MacPherson (stepfather)
Mother: Frances
Husband: Gilles Bensimson (div. 1989)
Son: Aurelius Cy Andre
Boyfriend: Arpad Busson ("Arkie", financier, Swiss, dated 1996-2005, one son)
Son: Arpad Flynn Busson
Macpherson was born in Cronulla, New South Wales, Australia, and is the eldest of four children. Her parents divorced when she was fourteen, and her mother later married Neil Macpherson. Macpherson then changed her last name for her stepfather's.
She studied law for one year at the University of Sydney.
Rise to fame
While on holiday in Tasmania, Macpherson was discovered and signed to Click Model Management. Macpherson became an international star through her appearance in ELLE magazine. She appeared in every issue for six straight years. During this time she married (at age 21) ELLE creative manager Gilles Bensimon. Eventually she gained even more exposure through Sports Illustrated magazine’s annual swimsuit issue. She appeared on the cover a record four times, including three years in a row. She also modelled for lingerie giant Victoria's Secret.
By 1986, her popularity had increased sufficiently for Time magazine to run a cover entitled “The Big Elle”. The Australian government simultaneously offered her a post on the tourist commission as an unofficial ambassador.
Acting career
Macpherson made her movie debut playing an artist's model in the 1994 Sirens, which starred Hugh Grant, Sam Neill, Tara Fitzgerald, Kate Fischer and co-starred Portia de Rossi, as another model. Macpherson gained 9 kilograms (20 lb) and her breasts grew to a voluptuous 37D. She surprised fans and critics by appearing unabashedly in numerous nude scenes, earning her top billing for the film above more established actors (in fact, all the female characters in the movie appeared nude at least once in the film).
Soon after Sirens, Macpherson appeared completely nude in Playboy magazine. Elle chose for the pictures to be published in all countries except Australia, as she believed her Australian fans could be offended by the shoot. At the time she posed for Playboy, Australian magazines Women's Day and New Idea published shots from the shoot. They were also featured on current affairs programs A Current Affair and 60 Minutes. Macpherson also published two calendars in which she appeared in see-through tops.
In 1999, Macpherson appeared in five episodes of the hit United States sitcom Friends as Joey's roommate and girlfriend, Janine Lecroix.
Macpherson went on to film Batman & Robin with George Clooney, Jane Eyre with William Hurt and has also appeared alongside Ben Stiller and Sarah Jessica Parker in If Lucy Fell.
Extortion attempt
On July 12 and 23 of 1997, William Ryan Holt and Michael Mischler burgled Macpherson's Los Angeles home while she was away on business in Chicago. The pair stole an estimated $100,000 worth of jewelery, $6,000 in cash and 15 nude photographs.
Shortly after the burglaries, Macpherson was contacted by telephone and by mail from someone who threatened to release the photos on the Internet if she did not give them $60,000. Macpherson called the police, who set up a sting operation. After the pair realized that law enforcement had been called, they increased their demand by an additional $20,000. The duo was arrested on August 4, 1997.
Mischler, 29, was charged with two counts of burglary and six counts of extortion. He eventually pled guilty to one count of attempted extortion and one count of burglary. He received a six year, eight month sentence.
Holt, 26, a former Air Force service member and a military inmate on parole, was charged with two counts of extortion. He eventually pled guilty to one count of extortion and was sentenced to one year in jail. After completing his sentence in the Macpherson case, he was returned to military custody where he served out the remainder of his military sentence at the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
Personal life
Macpherson married Gilles Bensimon in 1985, but the couple divorced as Macpherson's career escalated in 1989. She was then rumoured to be dating comedian Norm MacDonald, around the time he was promoting the movie Dirty Work.
Macpherson has two sons, Arpad Flynn Alexander Busson and Aurelius Cy Andrea Busson; known as Flynn and Cy respectively; with long term boyfriend Arpad Busson, a wealthy self-made Swiss/French financier worth roughly $100,000,000 (USD). The couple got engaged on the announcement of Macpherson's second pregnancy in August 2002. But Aurelius Cy's birth in February 2003 led to tensions, with Macpherson booking herself into Arizona's exclusive Meadows Institute, where she was treated for exhaustion and post natal depression. The couple parted in July 2005 as, according to Macpherson, Busson was so devout a Catholic he decided he could not marry a divorcée, despite having two children with her out of wedlock and in spite of Macpherson herself being Catholic.
Macpherson is currently dating British actor Ray Fearon. She is rumoured to have dated Australian restaurateur David Evans and real-estate developer John Hitchcox.
Name
Macpherson's last name is often printed as "MacPherson" and sometimes as "McPherson", but these appear to be incorrect. Sources which can be expected to be reliable, such as Playboy magazine (vol. 41, no. 5, May 1994), and the website for Macpherson's official lingerie line , consistently print the name as "Macpherson".
She is named in a Seinfeld episode in which Kramer goes to the Cayman Islands and allegedly meets Elle, attends a nudist beach, and plays "naked backgammon" with her.

AKA Julia O'Hara Stiles
Born: 28-Mar-1981
Birthplace: New York City
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: 10 Things I Hate About You
Father: John O'Hara (schoolteacher)
Mother: Judith Stiles (potter)
Brother: Johnny Stiles (b. 1984)
Sister: Jane Stiles (b. 1990)
Boyfriend: Joseph Gordon-Levitt (actor, dated 1999)
Boyfriend: Joshua Jackson (actor, dated 2000)
Boyfriend: John Mays (musician, dated 2003)
Stiles was born in New York City to John O'Hara, a teacher and businessman who owns and operates a pottery business, and Judith Stiles, a potter. Her father is of Irish descent and her mother is of half Italian and half English ancestry. Stiles has two younger siblings, Jane and Johnny and a half sister Bridget O'Hara Koch, the first daugter of John O'Hara. She was raised in SoHo by liberal, lapsed Catholic parents. She started acting at age eleven, performing with New York's La MaMa Theatre Company and securing work by submitting photographs of herself in costume to the company and asking that she be kept in mind for juvenile roles.
Career
Television career
Stiles began her acting career in television roles. After two appearances as the computer punk "Erica Dansby" on the PBS series Ghostwriter in 1993 and 1994, she appeared as a guest star on the medical drama Chicago Hope. She has been seen in two made-for-TV movies: in Before Women Had Wings (1997) on CBS, she played opposite Ellen Burstyn and Oprah Winfrey in an adaptation of the novel by Connie May Fowler; and she played a teenage girl who finds herself pregnant and runs away from her unforgiving father (Bill Smitrovich) in NBC's miniseries The '60's (1999), a film Caryn James of The New York Times dismissed as "conspicuously idiotic." Stiles was the public face of the film, with NBC using her face, painted with a peace sign and the American flag, both in its advertising and on the cover of the soundtrack album.
Film career
Stiles' first film was a non-speaking part in I Love You, I Love You Not (1996), with Claire Danes and Jude Law. She also had small roles as Harrison Ford's daughter in Alan J. Pakula's The Devil's Own (1997) and in M. Night Shyamalan's Wide Awake (1998). Her first lead was in Wicked (1998), playing a teenage girl who murders her mother so she can have her father all to herself. Critic Joe Balthai wrote she was "the darling of the 1998 Sundance Film Festival" and Internet movie writer Harry Knowles said she was the "discovery of the fest," but the film was not commercially released in the U.S. and went direct-to-video in 2001, after Stiles had become better known.
The role that gained Stiles renown was Kat Stratford, opposite Heath Ledger, in Gil Junger's 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), an adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew set in a high school near Seattle. She won an MTV Movie Award for "Breakthrough Female Performance" for the role, and the Chicago Film Critics voted her the most promising new actress of the year. Foreign critics applauded her work as well, including Adina Hoffman, who praised her as "a young, serious looking Diane Lane" and Martin Hoyle, who commented that Stiles played Kat "with bloody-minded independent charm from the beginning with hints of wistfulness beneath the determination."
Her next starring role was in Down to You (2000), which was heavily panned by critics, but earned Stiles and her co-star Freddie Prinze, Jr. a Teen Choice Award nomination for their on-screen chemistry. She subsequently appeared in two more Shakespearean adaptations. The first was as the Ophelia in Michael Almerayda's Hamlet (2000), with Ethan Hawke in the lead. The second was in the Desdemona role, opposite Mekhi Phifer in Tim Blake Nelson's O (2001), a version of Othello set in a private boarding school. Neither film was a great success; O had been subjected to many delays and a change of distributors and Hamlet was an art house film shot on a minimal budget.
Stiles' next commercial success was in Save the Last Dance (2001), as an aspiring ballerina forced to leave her small town in downstate Illinois to live with her struggling musician father in Chicago, after her mother is killed. At her new, nearly all-black school, she falls in love with the character played by Sean Patrick Thomas, who teaches her hip-hop dance steps that get her into The Juilliard School. The role won her two more MTV awards for "Best Kiss" and "Best Female Performance", and a Teen Choice Award for best fight scene, for her battle with Bianca Lawson. Rolling Stone pronounced her "the coolest co-ed", putting her on the cover of its April 12, 2001 issue. She told Rolling Stone that she performed all her own dancing in the film, though the way the film was shot and edited might have made it appear otherwise.
In David Mamet's State and Main (2000), about a film shooting on location in a small town in Vermont, she played a teenage girl who seduces a film actor (Alec Baldwin) with a weakness for young girls. Stiles also played opposite Stockard Channing in the dark art house film The Business of Strangers (2001) as a conniving, amoral secretary who exacts revenge on her cold boss. Channing was impressed by her co-star: "In addition to her talent, she has a quality that is almost feral, something that can make people uneasy. She has an effect on people." Stiles also had small, but crucial roles as Treadstone operative Nicolette Parsons in The Bourne Identity (2002) and its sequel The Bourne Supremacy (2004), and a much larger role inThe Bourne Ultimatum (2007). Producer Lynda Obst was quoted as saying that Stiles was "turning into the next Meryl Streep".
Her next film role was in Mona Lisa Smile (2003) as Joan, a student at Wellesley College in 1953, whose art professor (Julia Roberts) encourages her to pursue a career in law rather than becoming a wife and mother. Critic Stephen Holden referred to her as one of cinema's "brightest young stars," but the film met with generally unfavorable reviews.
Stiles played a Wisconsin college student who is swept off her feet by a Danish prince in The Prince and Me (2004), directed by Martha Coolidge. Stiles told an interview that she was very similar to the character, Paige Morgan, but critic Scott Foundas said while she was, as always, "irrepressibly engaging" the film was a "strange career choice for Stiles". This echoed criticism in reviews of A Guy Thing (2003), a romantic comedy with Jason Lee and Selma Blair; critic Dennis Harvey wrote that Stiles was "wasted," and Stephen Holden called her "a serious actress from whom comedy does not seem to flow naturally".
In 2005, Stiles was cast opposite her Hamlet co-star Liev Schreiber in The Omen, a remake of the 1976 horror film. The film was released on June 6, 2006.
Stage career
Stiles' first theatrical roles were in works by author/composer John Moran with the group Ridge Theater, in Manhattan's lower East side from 1993-1998. She later performed on stage in Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues, in the summer of 2002, and appeared as Viola, the lead role in Shakespeare in the Park's production of Twelfth Night with Jimmy Smits. Reviewing the production, Ben Brantley of The New York Times saluted Stiles as "the thinking teenagers' movie goddess" who put him in mind of a "young Jane Fonda".
In the spring of 2004, she made her London stage debut opposite Aaron Eckhart in a revival of David Mamet's play Oleanna at the Garrick Theatre.
Other work
On March 17, 2001, Stiles hosted Saturday Night Live and eight days later introduced a music nominee at the 73rd Academy Awards. She returned to Saturday Night Live on May 5 in a cameo as President George W. Bush's daughter Jenna Bush in a skit that poked fun at the two first daughters being arrested for underage drinking. MTV profiled her in its Diary series in 2003, and she was "Punk'd" by Ashton Kutcher at a Washington DC museum in the spring of 2004.
In 2007 Stiles made her writing and directoral debut with Elle magazine's Raving starring Zooey Deschanel. The film will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Personal life
Stiles attended Friends Seminary, a Quaker prep school in Manhattan, and graduated from the Professional Children's School in New York in 1999. She then was an English major at Columbia University, though she had several times interrupted her studies to pursue her career. During her first year (2000-2001), Stiles caused a minor uproar on campus when she mocked cafeteria workers in Columbia's dining halls while appearing on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Stiles later apologized for her comments in the campus newspaper, the Columbia Daily Spectator. She graduated in May 2005, five years after entering.
Stiles is a Democrat and supported John Kerry's candidacy for President of the United States. Her official site, which her mother helps to maintain, provides a link to Moveon.org.
Stiles has also worked for Habitat for Humanity, building housing in Costa Rica, and has worked with Amnesty International to try to raise awareness of the harsh conditions of immigration detention of unaccompanied juveniles; Marie Claire magazine, in January 2004, featured Stiles' trip to see conditions at the Berks County Youth Center in Leesport, Pennsylvania. Additionally, Stiles serves on the Board of Directors of Amend.org, a New York-based nonprofit that implements childhood injury prevention programs in Africa.
Stiles is also an ex-vegan. When interviewed by Conan O'Brien, she said the word "orgasm" came to mind when she had her first cheeseburger after giving up veganism - although she has said in an interview for tiscali that this was a joke. She gave up being vegan because it wasn't healthy whilst travelling. The actress has described herself as a feminist and wrote on the subject in The Guardian. Stiles told Gotham Magazine in 2005 that "I'd never be in Playboy or anything close to that, not that anyone would ask" and in fact hates being photographed.
Stiles has dated actors Joseph Gordon-Levitt (in 1999) and Joshua Jackson (in 2000).
Stiles is also an avid baseball fan. Her favorite team is the New York Mets. She threw the ceremonial first pitch before their May 29, 2006 game.
On August 17th 2007, Julia joined Prince on stage at the O2 in London. Prince then handed her a mic and got her to sing Wild Cherry's Play That Funky Music in front of a 20,000 strong crowd.

Shanna Moakler, who is of Portuguese and Irish descent, was born to John W. Moakler III, a dentist, and Gail Moakler in Providence, Rhode Island. She has two older brothers, Kirk and John W. IV, and an older sister. As a child, Moakler enjoyed weekend visits to her grandfather's farm, where she could "play outdoors and be a tomboy." Moakler was a competitive roller skater for twelve years (participating in roller skating competitions analogous to ice skating competitions). She attended Barrington High School, where she claims to have been "the biggest dork." According to Moakler, she was "4-foot-11 and 75 pounds" until she finally hit puberty at age seventeen. By the time she graduated, however, Moakler had dated the captain of the football team and was voted "best dressed." She moved to Miami after high school to pursue a modeling career. Moakler later moved to New York City and then to Los Angeles.
Career
Pageants
Shanna Moakler, at the age of 17, represented Rhode Island in the Miss Teen USA pageant in 1992. She placed third in the preliminaries, sixth in the interview segment, and fifth in the swimsuit competition (scoring 9.115, 9.279 and 9.087 respectively). Moakler made it to the semi-finals and finished seventh overall.
In 1995, Moakler was named Miss New York USA and represented New York in the Miss USA pageant, held that year in South Padre Island, Texas. Moakler finished second (to Miss Texas USA) in the preliminaries and in each of the interview and swimsuit divisions, with scores of 9.06, 9.62 and 9.61 respectively, and first in the evening gown competition, with a score of 9.86. Overall, Moakler was the first runner-up in the Miss USA Pageant. In May of 1995, at the age of 20, Moakler received the 1995 Miss USA crown when the winner, Chelsi Smith, became Miss Universe.
Moakler enjoyed some aspects of her reign as Miss USA, such as celebrity pool tournaments. However, she has complained that the experience required her to "sign autographs at places like Bob’s Home Furnishing Rentals." She was also forced to live with a pageant chaperone, who made sure she dressed and acted appropriately.
Modeling
Moakler began modelling at the age of fifteen. She has appeared in various publications, including Cosmopolitan and Brentwood magazines.
In December 2001, Moakler was named Playmate of the Month by Playboy magazine. She has admitted that posing nude was "a little scary at first." Moakler's Playboy fact sheet listed her measurements as: 34" bust (C), 24" waist, 34" hips, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 117 pounds.
Moakler appeared in a campaign for Cutty Sark that was photographed by David LaChapelle.
Television
Moakler started her television career in 1996 with appearances on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Due South. Moakler then played "Lisa" in Friends 'Til the End, a 1997 NBC movie of the week starring Shannen Doherty. In 1998 she appeared on an episode of Timecop in the role of Allison Kendall.
Beginning in 1998, Moakler was a regular on the television drama Pacific Blue. The USA Network series featured a team of police officers who patrolled the beaches of Santa Monica, California, California on bicycle. In seasons four and five Moakler played Officer Monica Harper, described as the trouble-maker rookie. Moakler has admitted that, even equipped with a $5,000 Trek bike, she was somewhat accident-prone on the set, saying that when the cast had to "ride really close together for the camera" they would often "crash into each other like idiots and end up in a big ball of arms and legs."
Moakler was a celebrity contestant on Search Party, a game show on the E! network. The show filmed at exotic beach resort locations and required contestants to team up for competitions such as athletic events and scavenger hunts. Moakler appeared on three episodes in 1999 to 2000.
In 2003, Moakler appeared on Punk'd to help Ashton Kutcher and his crew set up her then-boyfriend, Travis Barker. They "punk'd" Barker by having a waiter flirt excessively with Moakler when she was on a date with Barker at a restaurant. The episode originally aired on November 30, 2003.
In 2005, Moakler had guest appearances as "Mariska" on Joey (starring Matt LeBlanc) and as "Josie" on Jake in Progress (starring John Stamos).
Moakler and Barker starred in Meet the Barkers, a reality series on MTV that premiered April 6, 2005. The series followed the couple throughout their daily activities. It covered the couple's wedding and their life as a family. The show continued for two seasons through February of 2006.
Moakler, along with husband Barker, appeared in an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation entitled "Poppin' Tags", which originally aired on April 13, 2006. She played a character named "J-Lady," while Barker played a rapper involved in conflict with a rival rap artist. Method Man also guest starred on the episode.
Moakler appeared on the third season of ABC's Dancing with the Stars, which premiered on September 12, 2006. She was eliminated in week two.
Moakler appeared on HBO's Entourage.
Film
In 1997, Moakler played "Jaime" in Poison Ivy: The New Seduction. The next year, Moakler appeared in the role of "Cheryl Tangeray" in Telling You.
Moakler played an air-flight hostess during the final scene of the 1998 movie The Wedding Singer, where her character describes the vulgar way that character Glenn Gulia described her ("grade A top choice meat").
In 1999, Moakler appeared as "Tawny" in Love Stinks. She also had roles in Critical Mass in 2000 and Pauly Shore Is Dead in 2003.
She played "Kasey" in Seeing Other People in 2004 and "Petra" in Big Momma's House 2 in 2006.
Music
Moakler was in an all-female music group called DVS (pronounced "devious"). She described the sound of DVS as "Destiny's Child-style R&B music."
Relationships
Billy Idol
Moakler had a relationship with rock star Billy Idol in 1997. The couple appeared together in a scene of The Wedding Singer. Moakler has described Idol as a gentleman, but "not too sweet and sensitive." She also praised his intelligence and flair for history and philosophy. Moakler has disclosed that Idol was "horrible in bed," although he was "a good kisser."
Oscar de la Hoya
Moakler started dating boxer Oscar de la Hoya in October 1997 and they moved in together in early 1998. Moakler and de la Hoya became engaged prior to the 1999 birth of their daughter, Atiana Cecilia de la Hoya (born March 29, 1999). Moakler has said "it wasn’t a planned pregnancy, but it was understood if it happened it was beautiful and if it didn’t that was fine too." In September of 2000, the relationship abruptly ended when Moakler, who was at home watching the Latin Grammy Awards on television, saw de la Hoya escorting another woman to the show. In December of 2000, Moakler filed a $62.5 million palimony suit against her ex-fiancé, claiming he was an alcoholic, abusive to her and to their daughter, and that he used them "as props to promote his public image." The case was settled out of court in 2001 for an undisclosed amount. After the time of de la Hoya's split from Moakler, he had little contact with his daughter, although he continued to provide financial support.
Dennis Quaid
Moakler began dating actor Dennis Quaid in 2001. They were together when she was approached by Playboy and they discussed it before she posed nude in the magazine. The relationship lasted for eight months.
Marriage to Travis Barker
Travis Barker, drummer for the band, and formerly of blink-182 and The Transplants, proposed to Moakler in the elevator entrance to the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland. Barker paid off one of the ride operators so that the couple could have the space to themselves for a few minutes and then got down on one knee and proposed. Moakler said "yes," but she later surprised Barker with her own down-on-one-knee proposal and engagement ring for him.
On October 30, 2004, Moakler married Barker. Moakler and Barker have two children together - son Landon, (born October 9, 2003) and daughter Alabama (born December 24, 2005).
Separation
Barker filed for divorce from Moakler on August 8, 2006. Moakler "officially" commented on her MySpace page, that she was devastated by the demise of her marriage.
Less than a week after filing for divorce, Barker posted negative comments about his estranged wife on his MySpace page. Barker later explained that he was "still absolutely in love" with Moakler, but that he posted the blog about her after "hearing things in the press that Shanna was saying."
Both Moakler and Barker quickly removed the blogs from their pages and remained relatively quiet as to their divorce until reports circulated that Barker was seeing Paris Hilton. Tensions between Hilton and Moakler led to a confrontation at a Los Angeles nightclub (Hyde Lounge) in early October. Hilton and Moakler each accused the other of battery in separate complaints filed with the Los Angeles Police Department. Hilton claimed Moakler had punched her in the jaw and shouted at her, while Moakler said that Stavros Niarchos (Hilton's ex-boyfriend) bent her wrists, poured a drink on her and shoved her down stairs. Ultimately, no charges came out of the altercation.
In November 2006, Shanna threw herself a "divorce party" in Las Vegas, complete with a divorce cake featuring a bloody groom and a blonde, knife-wielding bride. In response, Barker again posted a blog on his MySpace page, this time criticizing Moakler for throwing the party.
Reconciliation
Despite Moakler and Barker's pending divorce, by early December 2006 they were seen out and about with their children and having romantic dinners together. Reports surfaced in January 2007 that they were "quietly trying to give it another go," after the couple spent a day together (and were seen holding hands) at Disneyland. Moakler, on her MySpace page, denied the rumors of a reconciliation and explained that she and Barker were "working on being good friends and even better parents."
Moakler and Barker spent Valentine's Day together in Las Vegas, where Barker surprised Moakler with three dozen red roses and bottle of Dom Perignon. Photos of Moakler with Barker prompted speculation that the couple was expecting another child. In late February Moakler again denied that she and her husband were back together, despite evidence to the contrary, telling a reporter: "I am single, . . . Travis and I are not together, . . . and I'm not pregnant, either."
In March 2007, Moakler revealed that she is still "madly in love" with her husband and that they have reunited. This admission came after the couple was publicly affectionate at a surprise birthday Barker threw for his wife in Miami. In April 2007, Barker told People that they were back together, they have pulled out of the separation and that they are doing what is best for themselves and their children, which making their children happy is the best thing of all. The couple showed up at a party, holding hands, kissing and wearing their wedding rings.
On July 23, 2007, after months of reconciliation, Moakler revealed that her relationship with Barker is over.
On August 2, 2007, Moakler and Barker made an appearance at the Rockstar Energy Drink X Games Kickoff at new club Opera in Hollywood. Moakler and Barker were also seen at MTV's 2007 VMA's (Video Music Awards) together on September 9th.

AKA Stacy Ann Ferguson
Born: 27-Mar-1975
Birthplace: Hacienda Heights, CA
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Singer
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Black Eyed Peas
Father: Pat Ferguson
Mother: Terri Gore
Sister: Dana Ferguson (b. 1978)
Boyfriend: Josh Duhamel (actor, supposedly engaged to be married)
Fergie is an American pop, hip hop, and R&B singer, songwriter, and actress. She is a former member of the kids' television series Kids Incorporated, and the girl group Wild Orchid. Ferguson was also a co-host of the television show Great Pretenders. She is currently a vocalist for the hip hop/pop group the Black Eyed Peas, of which she is the sole female member, as well as a solo artist, releasing her debut album, The Dutchess, in 2006. The album has so far spawned three U.S. Billboard Hot 100 number one singles and five Top 10 hits, making The Dutchess only the seventh album from a female artist to spawn five Top 5 hits.
Early life
Ferguson was born in Hacienda Heights, California to Terri Gore and Patrick Ferguson. She has one sister, Dana, who is an actress. Her parents were Catholics of Irish and Scottish descent and worked as schoolteachers. Ferguson had a strict Catholic upbringing. During her youth, she was "involved" with members of the Mexican gangs in Hacienda Heights, California. Ferguson attended Glen A. Wilson High School. She was also a Girl Scout.
Acting career
As a child actress, Ferguson appeared on the television program Kids Incorporated for several years with Renee Sandstrom, who became a fellow member of Wild Orchid. Ferguson's well-scrubbed image on that show presents quite a contrast with the "ghetto-funk" image she has more recently begun to cultivate. Ferguson was the voice of Sally Brown in two Charlie Brown specials: It's Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown (1984), and Snoopy's Getting Married, Charlie Brown (1985). She also voiced Sally in the 1985 version of The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show.
In July 2005, Ferguson had a guest role on the Rocket Power special, Reggie's Big Beach Break, on Nickelodeon; she voiced a fictitious pop music star named Shaffika. Ferguson returned to acting in 2006, appearing in a minor role in the film Poseidon. She later appeared in 2007's Grindhouse.
Personal life
Since September 2004, Ferguson has been dating actor Josh Duhamel, who stars in the television show Las Vegas. She appeared in the series, along with the Black Eyed Peas, in an episode titled "Montecito Lancers", which originally aired on November 1, 2004. She and Duhamel have recently purchased a house together.
In April 2007, she gave an interview in which she admitted that she went on a sex and drugs spree when she turned 18, saying: "I have had lesbian experiences in the past. I won't say how many men I've had sex with—but I am a very sexual person."
Ferguson was featured on Maxim's Hot 100 Women of 2006, and voted in at position #36. In 2007, she was voted in at #10.
Recently, Ferguson has been alleged to have had plastic surgery. She denied the allegations and has said that they drove her to seek therapy. Along with other celebrities, she is now assailing the credibility of US Weekly Magazine.
Music career
Ferguson was a member of the female trio Wild Orchid, which she fronted with Stefanie Ridel and fellow Kids Incorporated star Renee Sandstrom. Wild Orchid released two albums, but after completing a third album, their record label declined to release it, and she left the group shortly thereafter. Her disappointment with Wild Orchid led to an addiction to crystal methamphetamine. In September 2006, Ferguson talked with Time about quitting her crystal meth addiction. "It was the hardest boyfriend I ever had to break up with," she says. "It's the drug that's addicting. But it's why you start doing it in the first place that's interesting. A lot of it was being a child actor; I learned to suppress feelings."
In 2003, Ferguson took over the lead female vocal duties for the Black Eyed Peas, replacing background singer Kim Hill, who had left the group in 2000. Ferguson recorded five songs with the group before she was invited to join them permanently. Ferguson's addition to the band, which had enjoyed underground success until then, helped them quickly grow into mainstream popularity.
In 2005, Ferguson inadvertently urinated on stage during a performance at San Diego's Street Scene festival. Ferguson later commented on the incident: "I had a few drinks before the show, but I didn't think to go to the bathroom before we went onstage. We were jumping around...and my bladder just started."
On November 18, 2007, Ferguson won the Pop or Rock "Favorite Female Artist" at the American Music Awards.
Solo career
The Dutchess
Main article: The Dutchess
After two successful Black Eyed Peas albums, Ferguson began pursuing a solo career. Her first album, released on September 19, 2006, was entitled The Dutchess. The album's name is a misspelled variant of the former title of Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, with whom Ferguson shares a surname and popular nickname. The solo deal does not mean the demise of the Black Eyed Peas, as Ferguson intends to remain with the group, alternating between the two duties. The Dutchess is similar in style to that of the Black Eyed Peas, as fellow Peas member will.i.am is the album's executive producer. Ferguson has had five hit songs from The Dutchess, with "London Bridge", "Glamorous", and "Big Girls Don't Cry" becoming number one singles. Her second single, "Fergalicious", peaked at #2. "London Bridge" reached #2 on the United World Chart, while "Fergalicious" and "Glamorous" both made it to #4. "Big Girls Don't Cry" became Ferguson's first worldwide #1 single, and is her most successful single to date. "Clumsy" has been announced as the fifth single from The Dutchess due to the major success of "Big Girls Don't Cry", and has been set to be released on September 25 in the US. Ferguson has received her fifth Top 10 solo track from The Dutchess after "Clumsy" earned at #5 position on the Billboard Hot 100, on 22 December 2007.
Other
"I started doing ecstasy. Then I got addicted to crystal methamphetamine. My weight dropped to 90 pounds. I lied to my friends and said I was bulimic. Finally I started going crazy. In that moment I talked to God and He said: 'I've given you all these gifts, so what are you doing?' I decided to get clean. I told everybody what was wrong."
In August 2005, while performing at the Street Scene festival in San Diego, a mysterious damp stain appeared on the crotch of her pants. The band had arrived 45 minutes late to their set, rather intoxicated. Fergie insisted that the stain was not urine, but sweat, and one is inclined to believe her, given she was forthcoming about a similar incident at an Australia show the previous December:
"I had a few drinks before the show, but I didn't think to go to the restroom before we went onstage. We were jumping around -- it was all very rock-n-roll -- and my bladder just started... you know. Somebody brought out these champagne bottles because it was the New Year, and I basically opened one up and squirted it all over myself, so nobody would notice. It was a very memorable Pea experience."

Upton won the Miss South Carolina Teen USA 2007 title in a state pageant held in November 2006, after winning the Miss Lexington Teen USA title earlier in the year. It was her second attempt at the title, as she placed third runner-up to Brittany Smith in the previous year's pageant.
Upton attended Lexington High School where she was an honor student. She has modeled in numerous advertisements for such companies as Nautica and Wrangler and has appeared in national magazines like Seventeen, Cosmo Girl and American Cheerleader.
Upton plans to attend Appalachian State University to study graphic design.
According to a story that ran on the September 18, 2007 edition of WIS News Midday, Upton signed a deal with Donald Trump's modeling agency in New York City where her assignments could earn her anywhere up to $25,000 per day.
Famous response
As part of a question and answer portion of the 2007 Miss Teen USA pageant, Upton was asked by a pageant judge, "Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?"
An "overwhelmed" Upton responded:
I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some, uh, people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as, uh, South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, uh, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future, for our [children].
According to YouTube, video clips of her response on the website have had over 15 million views. It is the site's most viewed video for the month and the twenty-ninth most viewed of all time. Many YouTube users made their own parodies of the incident. As a guest on NBC's The Today Show, Caitlin told Ann Curry and Matt Lauer that she was "overwhelmed" when asked the question and didn't comprehend it correctly . The Today Show hosts gave Upton another opportunity to answer the question and she responded:
Personally, my friends and I, we know exactly where the United States is on a map. I don't know anyone else who doesn't. If the statistics are correct, I believe there should be more emphasis on geography in our education so people will learn how to read maps better.
Both Curry and Lauer, along with unseen Today Show crew members, applauded her response.
Caitlin also presented at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards in a humorous play on her famous response.

Long before her breakthrough role as the soccer-playing friend in Bend It Like Beckham, she had small parts in very British films beginning at the age of 8 (A Village Affair). Her long list of pre-fame TV shows and movies includes the fart comedy Thunderpants, and Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace, where she was one of Queen Natalie Portman's five handmaidens (Knightley was the girl who impersonated the Queen). She has since been featured prominently in several big-budget films: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Love Actually, King Arthur, and the upcoming science-fiction thriller The Jacket.
From endless hours spent improving her soccer game for Bend It to mastering archery for her role as King Arthur's Guinevere, Knightley has developed a reputation as a serious "practicer". Playing on- and off-camera soccer for Bend It, she got two black eyes from repeatedly heading the ball.

She and four siblings appeared in a revival of The Sound of Music, and Parker went on to the new 1977-81 Broadway musical Annie — first in the small role of "July," and then succeeding Andrea McArdle and Shelley Bruce in the lead role as the plucky Depression-era orphan, for a year beginning March 6, 1979.
In 1982, Parker was cast in the co-lead role of the CBS-TV sitcom Square Pegs. The show lasted only one season before being cancelled by the network, but Parker's performance was critically well received. In the three years that followed, she was cast in four films - the most significant of those being Footloose in 1984 and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, co-starring Helen Hunt, in 1985. Also that year, she become romantically involved with actor Robert Downey Jr., whom she met on the set of Firstborn and with whom she lived through 1991; during their relationship, Downey Jr. had a drug problem, and Parker has commented that she thought that she was "the person holding him together".
Later career
By the early 1990s, Parker's career was gaining momentum. In 1991, she appeared in a supporting role in the romantic comedy, L.A. Story; both the movie and her performance garnered some positive reviews. The following year she landed an important starring role in the well-received film, Honeymoon in Vegas, co-starring Nicolas Cage. Her 1993 role in the film Hocus Pocus was a higher grosser at the box office but received negative reviews. She then took on the role of Martha Stewart in Thirtysomething winning national television acclaim. She next appeared opposite Johnny Depp in the critically acclaimed movie Ed Wood. The film Miami Rhapsody, in 1995, saw her back on familiar territory with more romantic comedy material and a leading role. She appeared in another Tim Burton-directed movie, Mars Attacks!, The First Wives Club, and The Substance of Fire, in which she reprised her 1991 stage role, in 1997.
In 1997, she appeared as Francesca Lanfield, a washed-up Maureen McCormick-esque former child actress in the comedy Til There Was You. Later that year, the script for an HBO drama/comedy series titled Sex and the City was sent to Parker and the show's creator Darren Star was determined that she be cast in his project. Despite some early doubts about being cast in a long-term television series, Parker agreed to star.
The first season of the show proved to be an instant success, elevating Parker to a higher status. Despite the show's increasingly raunchy storylines, Parker retained the strict no-nudity clause of her contract throughout the show's six-season run. Parker became a producer for the show starting with its third season. In 2004, Parker won an Emmy award for her lead role (after five consecutive losses). Many gambling and betting establishments stopped taking bets on her Emmy victory, because it was so widely predicted that she would win. Parker has since stated that she will "never do a television show again", although she will co-executive produce a new HBO series based on Washingtonienne, but will not star in it.
After Sex and the City ended in 2004, rumours of a film version circulated and it has since been revealed that a script had been completed for such a project. However, Parker has commented that it will likely never be made. Two years later, however, preparations were already underway and HBO is currently in negotiations with executive producer Michael Patrick King and the cast from the Sex and the City TV series, including Parker, to produce a feature film of the same name. In addition to work in movies and television, she is also a respected stage actor, having appeared in well-reviewed lead roles in the off-Broadway play Sylvia, alongside husband Matthew Broderick in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and the Tony Award-nominated Once Upon A Mattress, as Princess Winifred the Woebegone.
In December 2005, Parker appeared in her first theatrical film in several years, The Family Stone; she received a Golden Globe nomination as Best Actress - Comedy for the role. Her next film, the romantic comedy Failure to Launch, co-starring Matthew McConaughey, was released on March 10, 2006 and opened at #1 in the North American box office, grossing slightly over $24 million, despite mediocre reviews.. Parker's work as a producer continues with the independent film Spinning Into Butter, based on the Rebecca Gilman play scheduled for a 2006 release, which she will also star in. Her latest confirmed project is Slammer, a prison-themed musical comedy to be directed by Adam Shankman and released in 2007. The role as imprisoned publicist who stages an all-inmate musical will give Parker the opportunity to revisit her musical roots, which have yet to be explored in her film and television work. Parker was initially set to star in Vacancy, along with her co-star from The Family Stone, Luke Wilson, but she dropped out because she was getting better movie offers. Kate Beckinsale later won the role.

AKA Danica Sue Patrick
Born: 25-Mar-1982
Birthplace: Beloit, WI
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Auto Racing
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Finished 4th in Indy 500
Father: TJ Patrick
Mother: Bev
Sister: Brooke (younger)
Husband: Paul Hospenthal (physical therapist, m. 19-Nov-2005)
Danica Sue Patrick is an American auto racing driver competing in the IndyCar Series. She is from an Irish-American family and was raised in Roscoe, Illinois. Danica Patrick was named the Rookie of the Year for both the 2005 Indianapolis 500 and the 2005 IndyCar Series season. In May 2006, she published her autobiography, Danica: Crossing the Line.
Early Racing Career
Danica Patrick began go-karting in 1992 at Sugar River Raceway outside of Brodhead, Wisconsin and went on to win several national championships. She moved to England at the age of 16 in order to advance her racing career. She has also earned a GED. Focusing primarily on road racing, Patrick raced in several developmental open-wheel series while in Europe, including Formula Ford and Formula Vauxhall. Patrick earned a second-place finish in England's extremely competitive Formula Ford Festival, the highest-ever finish by either a woman or an American in the event.
In 2002, Patrick signed a multi-year deal to race for the team of Bobby Rahal. After making several starts in the Barber Dodge Pro Series, she moved to the Toyota Atlantic Championship for 2003. Driving for Rahal Letterman Racing with sponsorship from Argent, Patrick achieved moderate success in the Toyota Atlantic series. During her time in Atlantics, she won one pole and was a consistent podium finisher (top three); however, she never won a race. In 2004, Patrick finished third in the Championship.
As well as participating in Atlantics, Patrick also made an appearance in the American Le Mans Series, driving for the Prodrive Ferrari team to tenth place at the 2003 Grand Prix of Atlanta. She would attempt sports cars later in her career with a run at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2006.
2005
After the 2004 racing season, Rahal Letterman Racing officially announced that Patrick would drive in the IRL IndyCar Series for 2005.
On May 29, 2005, Patrick became only the fourth woman to qualify for the Indianapolis 500, following Janet Guthrie, Lyn St. James and Sarah Fisher. After posting the fastest practice speed of the month (229.880 mph / 369.956 km/h) during the morning practice session on the first day of qualifications (May 15), she made an error in the first turn of her first qualifying lap, and failed to capture the pole position, which instead went to Tony Kanaan. Patrick's fourth starting position, however, was still the highest ever attained for the race by a female driver.
Patrick became the first female driver to lead the race at Indianapolis, first when acquiring it for a lap near the 125 mile mark while cycling through pit stops, and late in the race when she stayed out one lap longer than her rivals during a set of green-flag pit stops. Patrick overcame two crucial errors to finish fourth in the race, the same position in which she started: Patrick's car stalled in the pits about halfway through the 500-mile race, dropping her to the middle of the field; and shortly after reclaiming a spot in the top 10, Patrick spun on a caution period just before an intended green flag leading to a four car accident. The accident caused damage to Patrick's car that was limited to the nose and front wing. Her pit crew promptly made repairs, and due to the subsequent yellow, Patrick was able to rejoin the field having lost only one position. When the leaders pitted for fuel on lap 172, Patrick stayed out to take the lead. On lap 194, eventual race winner and 2005 series champion Dan Wheldon passed her as she was forced to slow in order to conserve fuel. Patrick was subsequently passed by both Bryan Herta and her teammate Vitor Meira. Patrick's fourth place was the highest ever finish for a female driver at the Indy 500, besting the previous record of ninth set by Janet Guthrie in 1978. Patrick led 19 laps overall.
On July 2, 2005, Patrick won her first pole position, leading a 1,2,3 sweep by Rahal Letterman Racing at Kansas Speedway. She became the second woman to accomplish this feat in the IndyCar Series, the first being Sarah Fisher in 2002 at Kentucky Speedway. On August 13, 2005, she won her second pole at Kentucky Speedway, although this time, rain prematurely ended qualifying and position was determined by speeds achieved during practice. She took a third pole at Chicagoland Speedway which tied her with Tomas Scheckter's record for number of pole positions earned in a rookie season.
In 2005, Patrick finished 12th in the IndyCar Series championship, with 325 points. She was named Rookie of the Year for both the 2005 Indianapolis 500 and the 2005 IndyCar Series season.
During the offseason following the 2005 racing year, Patrick competed in the Rolex 24 at Daytona along with co-driver Rusty Wallace in January 2006. The 24 hour event was her longest race to date.
2006
Patrick competed in the 2006 IRL IndyCar Series giving her another chance at qualifying and racing in the Indianapolis 500. In the first race of the season, the Toyota Indy 300 at Homestead Miami Speedway, Patrick qualified in third behind the Penske Racing teammates of Helio Castroneves and Sam Hornish, Jr. However, tragedy struck in the final practice sessions for the race as Rahal Letterman Racing teammate Paul Dana was killed in a crash the morning of the race. Patrick and fellow Rahal Letterman driver Buddy Rice withdrew from the race immediately. The two resumed their 2006 IRL campaign with the second race of the year in St. Petersburg, Florida.
At the Indianapolis 500, Patrick took eighth place after starting tenth. Shortly after Watkins Glen, Rahal Letterman racing switched to the Dallara chassis and the team struggled to adapt. Patrick struggled to remain competitive, but her fourth place finishes at Nashville and Milwaukee tied her career best IRL finishes. The following week at Michigan, though, Patrick's car died with three laps to go and she finished 17th. She rebounded at Kentucky and Infineon to finish 8th in both races.
In her final race with Rahal Letterman Racing at Chicagoland, Patrick recorded a 12th place finish and a 9th place finish in the IndyCar Series Championship point standings, besting her 12th place points finish as a rookie.
2007
On July 25, 2006, Patrick announced she had signed a deal to drive for Andretti Green Racing, replacing Bryan Herta in the number 7 Dallara Honda car beginning in 2007. Patrick's car is sponsored by Motorola, XM radio and Go Daddy.
In Patrick's first race with Andretti Green Racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway on March 24th she finished 14th after crashing into the pit wall on lap 154 and being knocked out of the race. Following Homestead, she finished 8th at St. Petersburg and 11th at Japan. At Kansas she had her best finish of the year at that point, finishing 7th.
In April 2007, Patrick launched her official fan club The Danica Maniacs to help foster greater interaction between her and her fans. Benefits include a "Pit Kit," contests and giveaways, sponsor discounts and promotions, and a members-only web site loaded with features.
Patrick ended up starting and finishing eighth in the 91st running of the 2007 Indianapolis 500. She ran as high as 2nd to Tony Kanaan after the rain delay. She had to pit after the rain delay, which dropped her back in the field. Patrick was working her way back to the front until the race was ended under the caution caused by Marco Andretti's accident due to the subsequent rain on lap 166.
At the Milwaukee Mile, Patrick started second to last but moved up quickly to 5th before contact with Dan Wheldon. Patrick managed to save the car from hitting anything but the wreck caused aerodynamic damage but she used a timely caution to get back on the lead lap and finish 8th. After the race she and Wheldon had a heated exchange after she tried to confront him about the wreck.
Following the incident at Milwaukee, Patrick rebounded with a career night at Texas in the Bombardier Learjet 550. She ran with the lead pack throughout the entire race and led her first two laps since her rookie season before finishing third, her first top-three finish at the time and less than a second behind eventual winner Sam Hornish, Jr.
Her good fortune would only be temporary as she was involved in one of the several crashes at Iowa to finish 13th. She would however rebound at Richmond to run in the top 10 all night before finishing 6th.
She followed that up with an 11th place finish at Watkins Glen before running in the top 5 all day and finishing 3rd at Nashville. At Mid-Ohio she finished 5th (her best career road course finish) despite being involved in a lap 1 accident that sent her into the grass briefly.
Patrick continued to have bad luck at Michigan International Speedway as previous years have seen Patrick retire from the race early due to fuel and other troubles. At the 2007 running, a flat tire in the late portion of the race forced Patrick to pit and dropped her to a 7th place finish.
Her terrible luck would continue at Kentucky as she ran in the lead group all night and appeared headed towards another podium finish when she spun out exiting pit road with less than 50 laps to go. After restarting from that spin, a rear tire on Patrick's car blew leading to a crash and forcing her to retire from the race.
Her luck would get a little better at Infineon as she ran in the top 10 and finished 6th. However a series of slow pit stops kept her from what could have been an even better finish.
At Belle Isle, Patrick started 11th and was involved in two accidents from which she was able to restart without damage, eventually driving to the front and leading 9 laps of the race before falling back after having to pit. On the final lap, while Patrick was running in 5th, Buddy Rice, Scott Dixon and teammate Dario Franchitti were involved in an accident immediately in front of her. Patrick was able to avoid the wreck and finish in second place, a career-high in the IndyCar Series and tying her with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing driver Sarah Fisher for best finish in Indy Style racing by a female.
At the season finale in Chicagoland Speedway, Patrick ran most of the race in in the top 6, but had to make a pit stop for fuel with 7 laps to go. When entering pit lane, Patrick spun-out but avoided damage to her car. With assistance from her pit crew, Patrick was able to refire the engine, make a complete pit stop and reenter the race, finishing 11th overall.
For the 2007 season as a whole, Patrick scored her first three career podium finshes to finish with 4 top 5's and 11 top 10's while leading 17 laps on the season. She also scored her career best championship points finish of 7th with 424 points.
Controversy
Some racing fans have claimed Patrick, as a rare female driver, has benefited from her minority status. They claim that most male drivers would have had more difficulty in finding a ride with a top racing team than Patrick did and would have been dropped sooner than Patrick was after failing to achieve any wins during her entire IRL career.
Some racing journalists, IndyCar fans, and other drivers (such as Robby Gordon) have claimed that Patrick's relatively low body weight gives her an advantage in a competition where engine size and car weight are strictly regulated. (Patrick's height is 5'2, and weight is 100 pounds.) The IRL president, Brian Barnhart, disagrees, telling Dave Caldwell for The New York Times that Patrick's weight "had a minimal effect on the competition."
Patrick has also had to deal with sexist remarks from fellow racers, who feel that auto racing is a man's sport. In May of 2006, after an appearance on ESPN SportsCenter's Budweiser Hot Seat, Patrick made comments that ruffled the feathers of former NASCAR drivers. When asked if she would ever make the jump over to the NASCAR circuit, Patrick commented that, while she wouldn't make the jump, she hadn't even "gotten a phone call (from NASCAR representatives)." Former driver Richard Petty responded, in a separate interview, by stating, "I just don't think it's a sport for women, and so far, it's proved out. It's really not. It's good for them to come in. It gives us a lot of publicity, it gives them publicity. But as far as being a real true racer, making a living out of it, it's kind of tough."
When talk heated up of a possible future Patrick move to NASCAR in July 2006, fellow IRL driver Ed Carpenter said, "I think Danica's pretty aggressive in our cars. I mean, you know especially if you catch her at the right time of the month, she might be trading plenty of paint out there." He later said that he meant no disrespect, and that he felt she could hold her own on whatever circuit she was in. He also said it was unlikely she would jump to NASCAR.
In October of 2005, Patrick was mentioned in the men's magazine FHM by Formula One driver Jenson Button, who, while dismissing her prospects in Formula One racing, then added some colorful remarks of his own, notably the infamous line "A girl with big boobs would never be comfortable in the car. And the mechanics wouldn't concentrate. Can you imagine strapping her in?"

Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon is an American film actress, who has received a Golden Globe Award, a BAFTA Award, and an Academy Award. Witherspoon is known as one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood.
Witherspoon landed her first feature role in the movie The Man in the Moon at age fourteen, followed by several moderately successful family oriented comedies and dramas in the early to mid 1990s, and then the teenage thriller Fear, where she became a teen idol. Witherspoon emerged as a young woman in Election. She acquired her breakout role in Legally Blonde, a role she reprised in a sequel. In 2005, Witherspoon received worldwide attention for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in Walk the Line, a role that earned Witherspoon an Academy Award for Best Actress. She is the best actress in the whole world and maybe even the whole universe!
Witherspoon is divorced from actor Ryan Phillippe, whom she married in 1999. They have two children, Ava and Deacon.
Early life
Witherspoon was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to John Witherspoon, a Georgia-born lieutenant colonel in the US Army reserves and later an otorhinolaryngologist, and Betty (née Reese), a nurse and college professor from Harriman, Tennessee. Witherspoon has said that she is a direct descendant of Scotland-born John Witherspoon, who was a signatory of the United States Declaration of Independence, the sixth president of Princeton University, and a Presbyterian minister. Witherspoon was raised in the Episcopalian religion. Because her father worked for the US military in Wiesbaden, Germany, she lived there for four years as a small child. After returning to the United States, Witherspoon, an army brat, spent much of her childhood and adolescence in Nashville, Tennessee, where, she says in Interview magazine, "I grew up in an environment where women accomplished a lot. And if they weren't able to, it was because they were limited by society. I grew up with a grandma--my father's mother—who was incredibly intelligent but was limited by the bounds of society and propriety ... She was a voracious reader, and she encouraged me to read a lot as a child ..." a woman whose "depression" and "disconnect between her capabilities and her lack of fulfillment and achievement" continue to motivate Witherspoon in life. After graduating from the prestigious private all-girls' Harpeth Hall School in Nashville, she attended Stanford University in California as an English literature major. After completing a year of her studies, she left Stanford to pursue her acting career.
Career
Early career, 1991–2000
Witherspoon's first role was in a made-for-TV movie called Wildflower, directed by Diane Keaton and starring Ben Gill, Beau Bridges, William McNamara, and Patricia Arquette. At age 15, Witherspoon attended an open casting call for The Man in the Moon, intending to audition as a bit player. She was instead cast in the lead role, for which she was nominated for the Young Artist Award Best Young Actress. She has since built up an impressive filmography, playing both comedic and dramatic roles. Following the success of The Man in the Moon, Witherspoon acted in many both lead and supporting roles. In 1993, Witherspoon had a minor role in Jack the Bear, which helped her win the Young Artist Award "Best Youth Actress co-starring in Motion Picture Drama." That same year, she portrayed the leading character "Nonnie Parker" in the Disney/Amblin film A Far Off Place. The following year, Witherspoon acted in another leading role as "Wendy Pfister" in the 1994 film S.F.W.. In 1996, Witherspoon starred alongside Kiefer Sutherland and Brooke Shields as Vanessa Lutz in the thriller Freeway. Consequently, Witherspoon won Best Actress at the Cognac Festival du Film Policier.
1998 was a successful year for Witherspoon as she made three films: Twilight, Overnight Delivery, and Pleasantville. In the thriller Twilight, Witherspoon, who played "Mel Ames," made her first and only on-screen nude appearance. Meanwhile, her role as "Jennifer" in Pleasantville garnered her the Young Hollywood Award for the "Best Female Breakthrough Performance."
In 1999, Witherspoon's career continued as she starred as "Lissa" in the drama thriller Best Laid Plans. Meanwhile, she also portrayed "Annette Hargrove" in Cruel Intentions, where she acted alongside her future husband Ryan Phillippe and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Also in 1999, Witherspoon portrayed Tracy Flick in Election, her first starring show. Although the film received good reviews (and her performance earned her a Golden Globe and an Independent Spirit Award nominations) Witherspoon noted in an interview that she struggled to find work after completing the film. When analyzing the reasons behind her difficulty to find work, Witherspoon commented: "I think because the character I played was so extreme and sort of shrewish - people thought that was who I was, rather than me going in and creating a part. I would audition for things, and I'd always be the second choice - studios never wanted to hire me, and I wasn't losing the parts to big box-office actresses but to ones who I guess people felt differently about." Her highly praised performance received a ranking in 2006, at #45 on the list of 100 Greatest Film Performances of All Time by Premiere Magazine.
In 2000, Witherspoon received a supporting role in American Psycho. In addition, she made a cameo appearance as "Angel Holly" in Little Nicky. Witherspoon had small parts as Jill Green, Rachel Green's sister, in season six of "Friends", as well as Debbie Grunds in two episodes of King of the Hill.
Breakthrough, 2001–2005
After struggling to find work for a period of time, in 2001 Witherspoon starred as "Elle Woods", a fashion merchandising major who decided to become a law student to follow her ex-boyfriend to Harvard, in the film Legally Blonde, resulting in her breakthrough as a leading actress. Critics began referring to Witherspoon as "the new Meg Ryan". The box-office hit helped Witherspoon achieve fame. Meanwhile, critical reviews were generally positive, with Roger Ebert commenting that "Witherspoon effortlessly animated this material with sunshine and quick wit". As a result, Witherspoon garnered her second Golden Globe Best Actress nomination for her role.
Following the success of Legally Blonde, Witherspoon starred in a number of different roles. In 2002, Witherspoon was the voice of the animated character Greta Wolfcastle in The Simpsons episode The Bart Wants What It Wants. Additionally, Witherspoon portrayed "Cecily" in the comedy The Importance of Being Earnest. Witherspoon received a Teen Choice Award nomination as a result of her role. The same year, Witherspoon starred as "Melanie Smooter/Carmichael" in Sweet Home Alabama.
In 2003, Witherspoon followed up the success of Legally Blonde by starring in its sequel Legally Blonde 2, in which her character became a Harvard-educated lawyer. Reportedly, Witherspoon received a $15 million paycheck for the sequel, making her one of Hollywood's highest paid actresses.
Witherspoon also starred as Becky Sharp in the 2004 film Vanity Fair, an adaptation of the classic novel Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray. In early 2005, Witherspoon acted as "Elizabeth Masterson" in the romantic comedy Just Like Heaven.
International fame, 2005–present
In 2005, Witherspoon garnered much critical praise and awards for her turn as June Carter Cash in Walk the Line. Carter Cash, who died in 2003, had personally approved of Witherspoon to play her in the 2005 biopic. However, Witherspoon never had the chance to meet Carter Cash, as Witherspoon was filming Vanity Fair when Carter Cash died. Witherspoon did her own vocals in the movie, and as the songs had to be performed in front of a live audience, Witherspoon had to spend six months learning how to sing. For playing the role of Carter Cash, Witherspoon won several critical awards across the globe, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, NYFCC, the FFCC, the SFFCC Award for Best Actress, the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG) for best actress in a lead role, the British Academy's BAFTA for best actress in a lead role, the "Favorite Leading Lady" at the 32nd Annual People's Choice Awards, the National Society of Film Critics Awards, and the Academy Award for Best Actress.
In 2006, Witherspoon was featured as one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People. Her article was written by friend and fellow co-star in the Legally Blonde movies, Luke Wilson. She is also listed as one of "100 Sexiest Women In The World" by FHM Magazine. According to the survey by the film-trade paper The Hollywood Reporter in 2007, Witherspoon has established herself as the world's highest-paid actress, earning $15 million a movie.
Witherspoon also runs a production company, Type A Films. Some believe the company is named after her childhood nickname "Little Miss Type A," but she clarified the misconception in Interview: "People think I named it after myself ... But it just isn't who I am at all. It was actually an in-joke with my family because at 7 I understood complicated medical terms, such as the difference between type A and type B personalities. But I just wished I'd named the company Dogfood Films or Fork or something. You carry that baggage all your life." Type A Films has produced the Legally Blonde sequel, and a modern-day fable named Penelope starring Christina Ricci.
Witherspoon has commented on her motivation to act. "Sometimes I think it's about acknowledgement. I always felt like people didn't understand me what I was capable of or what I could accomplish. I was driven to make people understand that I was capable of more ... But for me part of the experience of acting is that it is really moving--it's almost meditative, going into a different character. You lose all self-consciousness and self-awareness for that brief moment. It's really magical. Of course, it can also be drudgery if you can't connect with the material or director."
Witherspoon's first post-Oscar role came in the modern-day fairy tale, "Penelope", in which Witherspoon plays the supporting role of Annie, the eccentric best friend of Christina Ricci's pig-nosed character. Filming on Penelope began in March 2006, almost immediately after Witherspoon won her Academy Award, and the film premiered at the 2006 Toronto Film Festival. However, the film, which Witherspoon's Type A Films produced, has suffered two release delays and is now set for a February 2008 release.
Witherspoon was back in front of the cameras again in November 2006 as shooting began for the political thriller Rendition, in which she stars as Isabella El-Ibrahim, alongside Meryl Streep, Alan Arkin, Peter Sarsgaard, and Jake Gyllenhaal. The film was releasd on October 12, 2007. It is Witherspoon's first appearance in theatres in two years, since the 2005 release of Walk the Line.
In 2007, Reese Witherspoon made her first move into the world of endorsements as she signed a multiyear agreement to serve as Avon Products Global Ambassador. She will be involved in product development, appear in advertisements, and will serve as the honorary chairwoman of the Avon Foundation. She is also set to star in a Universal Pictures remake of the 1939 comedy Midnight, scripted by Michael Arndt, and is in talks to star in the holiday comedy Four Christmases alongside Vince Vaughn. 2009 may also see Witherspoon take on the horror genre for the first time, as the star of Our Family Troubles, which she and partner Jennifer Simpson will produce under the Type A banner.
Personal life
Witherspoon met American actor Ryan Phillippe at her 21st birthday party in March 1997, where, as she says, "I don't know what came over me – maybe the seven Midori sours – but I told him, 'I think you're my birthday present.' He thought it was so flattering, and now that I think about it... how embarrassing!" The pair got engaged in December of 1998. Soon after, the couple starred together in the box office hit Cruel Intentions. They were married on a plantation in Charleston, South Carolina, on June 5, 1999. They have two children: daughter Ava Elizabeth, born September 9, 1999, and son Deacon, born October 23, 2003.
A self-identified Southerner who has credited her family with fomenting her imagination and love for storytelling and privacy, she has said that her parental philosophy has roots in her upbringing. "We weren't the kind of children that were shadowed. We didn't have nannies. We didn't have housekeepers. This whole L.A. culture is so foreign to me, because when I was growing up you wouldn't watch your children every moment. I'm always confused when people bring their children over and then want to sit with them while they play. I think part of the joy of being a child is privacy. Your fantasies and dreams are so important to you at that moment."
Paparazzi incident
In September 2005, Witherspoon and her children were celebrating her daughter Ava's sixth birthday at Disney's California Adventure theme park in Anaheim when they were approached by paparazzi photographer Todd Wallace, who had previously been sentenced to four years in prison due to burglary. When Witherspoon declined to pose for photos at close range, Wallace became enraged and pushed a child out of the way, while hitting another with his camera, in his efforts to photograph the actress. Wallace also allegedly shoved two theme park employees when they attempted to move Witherspoon to a safer area, and cursed at Witherspoon, causing several children to cry, which led to the security calling the police. Witherspoon's children were not harmed. As a result of the altercation, Wallace was arrested and faced misdemeanor assault and battery charges. He was then ordered by the court to stay 300 yards away from Witherspoon. However, before the case went to trial, Wallace was found dead on February 5, 2006 in his apartment in Brentwood, California.
Divorce proceedings
By 2005, in response to critical news reports of Witherspoon and Phillippe receiving marriage counseling, Witherspoon stated:"We've done that in the past, and it's always struck me as odd that people grabbed onto that story and made it sound so negative." In December 2005, she said on The Oprah Winfrey Show: "In what capacity is working on yourself or your marriage a bad thing? What marriage isn't a journey? ... Nobody's perfect ... We all have our own set of problems." In the same month, Witherspoon also said in an interview: "I think if anybody rests on the idea that they are perfect or their life is perfect or their relationship is perfect and is so troubled about destroying the facade as opposed to getting to what's real, that is troublesome."
On June 21, 2006 Witherspoon sued the US-based tabloid Star Magazine for running a false story on a third pregnancy. She sought unspecified general and punitive damages in the lawsuit, asserting that the claim harmed her reputation because it suggested she was hiding the news from producers of her upcoming films. On October 30, 2006, Witherspoon and Phillippe announced that they decided to formally separate after seven years of marriage. On November 8, 2006, Witherspoon filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as a reason. In her petition she sought joint legal custody of their two children and sole physical custody, with full visitation rights for Phillippe. Although the couple have no pre-nuptial agreement and Phillippe is entitled to half of Witherspoon's assets by California law, she requested that the court not grant spousal support for Phillippe. On May 15, 2007, Phillippe filed for joint physical custody of the couple's children. He did not ask for spousal support, and did not make any move to block Witherspoon from seeking support from him. In September 2007, on speaking openly about the separation, Witherspoon told the Elle magazine that it was "a difficult and frightening experience for her." On October 5, 2007, Witherspoon and Phillippe’s final divorce documents were filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court, which made their single status officially take effect.
In 2002, her brother, John Witherspoon Jr, was arrested after breaking into a neighbor's house and attempting to sexually molest a woman while she slept. He said he was drunk, and was sentenced to two years probation.
An ancestor, John Witherspoon (1723-1794), was a preacher who emigrated from Scotland, and served as President of Princeton University while teaching moral philosophy, divinity, rhetoric, history, and French. He also served in the Continental Congress, signed the Declaration of Independence, and his son James was killed in the Revolutionary War.

One of the most commercially successful pop performers of the 1990s, vocalist Mariah Carey was the third child of black/Hispanic aeronautical engineer Alfred Carey and Irish opera singer/voice coach Patricia Hickey -- a mix that made her the target of persistent racial prejudice throughout her childhood. The hostility against mixed marriages still persisting in New York at the time ultimately brought about her parents' divorce in the early 70s, putting Hickey in the position of having to keep multiple jobs in order to support her children on her own. By the age of 3, Mariah had already begun to show an enthusiasm for singing, and would sometimes accompany her mother while she rehearsed; taking note of her daughter's interest, Hickey initiated her vocal training soon afterwards. Singing quickly became the center of the young Mariah's existence. Her first public performance took place at the age of 6, and her schoolwork went largely ignored in favor of anything that could further her dream of becoming a star.
During her high school years, Carey made frequent trips to Manhattan in order to immerse herself in the professional music scene. After graduating in 1987, she immediately made a full-time move to the city -- sharing an apartment with two friends and attending beauty school, while supporting herself with a variety of menial jobs. In that first year, as much time as possible was spent in the studio, writing or creating demo tapes. Her entrance into the music business arrived the following year, when a friend convinced her to audition as a backing vocalist for Brenda K. Starr: Carey had little difficulty passing the audition, and Starr subsequently made it possible for the young singer to put one of her demo recordings in the hands of Sony/Columbia bigshot Tommy Mottola. The executive had been in search of a female performer who could compete with the success of rival label Arista's recording artist Whitney Houston, and a contract for Carey with Columbia was arranged in short order.
Work on Carey's debut continued between 1989 and 1990, maintained under the close supervision of a committee of Columbia executives seeking to maximize the album's "hit potential". The release finally materialized in June of 1990 and (as intended) was met with immediate commercial success, the singles Vision of Love, Love Takes Time, Someday, and I Don't Wanna Cry all taking their turn at the #1 position, and the album itself reaching the top of the mainstream pop charts. Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (for Vision of Love) arrived the following year. Carey's next two releases were given a slightly more restrained but still enthusiastic response: 1991's Emotions reaching #4 and earning her a fifth #1 single with the title track, while her 1992 MTV Unplugged EP reached #3 and featured a sixth #1 song in the form of the Jackson 5 cover I'll Be There. By this time Carey had assumed greater control over her output and significantly expanded on the production role she had taken on her first album; the Unplugged appearance also finally dispelled rumors that her unusually high vocal range was a product of studio trickery.
Having managed to establish herself amongst the most lucrative recording artists in the world, by 1993 Carey was already hard at work making all of the mistakes that typically accompany a sudden rise to fame. One of the more significant of these arrived in June of that year, when she took artist/management relations a little too far by marrying label head Mottola. Marrying the boss had it's perks, however, and her third studio release Music Box was given an enormous promotional push, making it her most successful release since her debut. Music Box not only returned her to the top of the album charts, but also added two more number one singles to her catalog, Dreamlover and Hero; the album's third single, a cover of Badfinger's Without You, made a respectable showing at #3 in early 1994 and provided the singer with her first UK #1.
After releasing the popular Christmas collection Merry Christmas at the end of 1994 (and no doubt the world needed yet another Christmas album), Carey made a stylistic shift towards R&B and hip-hop with her fifth studio effort Daydream (1995), surpassing the sales of even her first album as a result. Three more number one singles were included on the release -- Fantasy, Always Be My Baby and the Boyz II Men collaboration One Sweet Day -- and the album itself put her name back at the top of the mainstream charts for several more weeks. This genre-mixing direction was continued for the follow-up Butterfly (1997), an album whose title referred to her "emergence" from the stifling cocoon of her marriage to Mottola, which would be officially dissolved in 1998. Butterfly gave the singer not only another number one album and two more number one singles (Honey and My All -- her twelfth and thirteenth, respectively), but earned her some of the most positive critical notices of her career as well. The packaging and promotional videos for the album also revealed Carey moving away from the coy persona of her early career and assuming a more sexually aggressive public image.
In addition to the developments in her personal and performing life, the second half of the 1990s saw Carey establishing herself as an arranger and/or producer for other artists: Michael Bolton, Allure, Jermaine Dupri, 7 Mile, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Blaque and even Placido Domingo amongst them. The singer closed the decade with her seventh studio effort Rainbow (1999), which reinforced her ties to hip-hop through guest appearances by rappers Jay-Z, Da Brat, Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg, Mystikal and Master P. While still a huge commercial success by any reasonable standards, the album proved to be one of lowest-selling releases of her career up to that point, and was the first since Emotions not to reach #1 (it shows how astonishingly shallow and irrational the music industry (and its inhabitants) can be that a multi-million seller could be considered "a disappointment"). The release of Rainbow marked the end of her relationship with Sony/Columbia, and an extravagant contract with EMI was subsequently arranged in 2001.
The stress of her enormous celebrity inevitably caught up with Carey in the 00s, first revealing itself in the form of erratic behavior during personal appearances and culminating in a withdrawal from the public and a brief period of hospitalization at a psychiatric hospital. This breakdown came in the midst of preparations for the release of her semi-autobiographical film Glitter (2001) and its accompanying soundtrack album, both of which were given a harsh reception from both critics and the public upon their arrival later in the year: the film in particular fared extremely poorly at the box office and has been numbered by some sources amongst the worst movies ever made. The album version suffered a corresponding drop from her usual sales, but still easily reached a tally in the millions. Spooked by the dual disaster, EMI paid the singer out of her contract in early 2002.
In 2002 Carey managed to restore some of her acting credibilty through a role in the independent film production WiseGirls, also starring Mira Sorvino and Melora Walters; the recording side of her reputation did not recover quite so quickly, however, and Charmbracelet (2002) -- the singer's first album for the Def Jam label -- had some critics prematurely writing obituaries for her music career. Guest appearances on songs by rappers Busta Rhymes (in 2003) and Jadakiss (in 2004) were given a more optimistic appraisal, while also providing some renewed chart action. A dramtic turnaround in Carey's fortunes was subsequently made in 2006 with the album The Emancipation of Mimi, which once again found her making an immediate jump to the top of the album charts. Two more #1 singles (We Belong Together and Don't Forget About Us) were also launched by the release, as well the #2 entry Shake It Off.

Patricia Ford was born in 1973 and raised in Honolulu, but she also lived in Waianae during that time. She attended Moanalua High School in Hawaii, but graduated from Waianae High School, Waianae, HI in 1987. She is of German, Irish, Portuguese, Chinese, and Hawaiian ancestry. Her modeling career started at a Tropical Teen pageant. Japanese modeling scouts saw her and offered to send her to work in Japan when she was 15. She is best known for modeling for Playboy's Special Editions, but has appeared various swimsuit and lingerie catalogues, and posed more revealingly for erotic photographer Suze Randall. The Randall photo shoots have appeared in many adult magazines, such as High Society and Club International (both times as Brandi), Men's World, Men Only, Spice, Model Directory, Club, and Cheri Undercover. Patricia was a booth babe for Eidos Interactive at the 1999 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, CA.
During the peak of her career (mid 1990s) she tried to launch her own official website three times, when hers was one of the most searched for names on the internet. Reportedly, she was scammed every time and lost a lot of money. Her domains http://www.patriciaford.com and http://www.patricia-ford.com were abused with only spam for years, until Mac & Bumble signed her and bought the domains. Although they show Patricia Ford content today, they are not updated anymore. About that time, she also worked closely with another Playboy model called Lisa Boyle. Both had huge success with the shots they did together; unlike Ford, Lisa Boyle is running her website successfully even today.
Patricia Ford has also worked as an actress, having appeared in bit parts in films such as the 1999 boxing comedy-drama Play It To the Bone, and the 1986 film Biggles: Adventures in Time.
Ford apparently stopped modeling in her early thirties.

She also had recurring roles as an annoyingly perky girl on Caroline in the City, and as an efficiency expert on NewsRadio.
In her several movies, she has usually been relegated to background roles. She played the school principal to Vin Diesel's The Pacifier, was dumped cruelly by Josh Brolin in Nightwatch, and she wisely dumped Keanu Reeves in Sweet November. Eva Longoria says she was an ugly duckling as a child, but she won the Miss Corpus Christi beauty pageant in 1998. She grew up on the family ranch near that city, then earned a degree in kinesiology (human body mechanics) while becoming active in her college's theater department. After graduation, she worked as a model, then sought out an agent and came to Los Angeles, where, in her first roles, she appeared in a stage production of What the Rabbi Saw and played a stewardess on Beverly Hills, 90210. She spent 2½ years on the soap opera The Young and the Restless, playing a former prostitute who tried to kill another woman and ended up in an insane asylum.
In 2003, she co-hosted The Talent Agency with comic-actor Alex Thomas, a syndicated amateur competition that aired in the wee hours on the weekends in most cities, and was quickly scuttled. She joined the cast of the 2003-04 revival of Dragnet with Ed O'Neill as Joe Friday just in time to see the show cancelled. And then she found fame as Gabrielle Solis, the rich housewife with a bad marriage and a thing for the yard boy, on the cul-de-sac drama Desperate Housewives with Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, and Nicolette Sheridan.
On the strength of Longoria's TV name recognition, she has become a spokeswoman for Hanes underwear and L'Oreal beauty products, and has been featured in a few movies, most notably as a rookie federal agent in The Sentinel with Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland. In a 2004 interview with Rolling Stone she mentioned a fondness for vibrators. The producers of Desperate Housewives were subsequently deluged with sex toys sent by the series' fans, and reportedly asked Longoria not to mention the subject again.
She was married for three years to actor Tyler Christopher, best known for a recurring role on the soap General Hospital. Since late 2004, she has been dating San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker, and in November 2006 they announced their engagement.

AKA Dana Welles Delany

Birthplace: Manhattan, NY
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor
Party Affiliation: Democratic
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: China Beach, Exit to Eden

Boyfriend: Treat Williams (1984)
Boyfriend: John Sacret Young
Boyfriend: Darius Anderson (1993)
Boyfriend: Henry Czerny

Delany has said she wanted to act since she was three years old, mostly to get attention from her parents. She started in soap operas, Love of Life in the late 1970s and As the World Turns in the early '80s. She was featured in a quickly-canceled mid-80s sit-com, Sweet Surrender, but she was still relatively unknown in 1988 when chosen over Helen Hunt for the role of Nurse McMurphy on the Vietnam war drama China Beach. The show was well-written and acted, critically acclaimed, and never jumped the shark. Delany won two Emmys, and deserved them.
After China Beach ended in 1991, Delany faded into odd or small roles, mostly on television and in independent films. She was featured with Dan Aykroyd in the ludicrous S&M comedy East to Eden, and starred in an unnecessary TV remake of an Ellen Burstyn movie, Resurrection. She played Margaret Sanger in a Lifetime biopic, Choices of the Heart, and she has been the cartoon and video game voice of Superman's girlfriend Lois Lane since 1996. She also voiced Batman/Bruce Wayne's girlfriend in the 1993 cartoon Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.
Her grandfather, John J. Delany, invented the Delany valve, a component still used in today's flush toilets. The family name lives on at Coyne & Delany of Charlottesville, VA, where they manufacture bathtubs, flush tanks, fittings and ballcocks.

AKA Anne Elizabeth Gish
Born: 13-Mar-1971
Birthplace: Albuquerque, NM
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Monica Reyes on The X Files
Father: Robert Gish (English professor)
Mother: Judy
Brother: Tim
Sister: Robin
Husband: Wade Allen (actor, m. 11-Oct-2003)
Gish was born to Robert and Judy Gish. Her grandmother was named Lillian, but Annabeth is not related to the early silent film actress sisters Lillian Gish and Dorothy Gish. When she was 2, her family moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she grew up with her brother Tim and sister Robin. Her father was an English professor at the University of Northern Iowa; her mother was an elementary school educator.
Gish is married to former X-Files stuntman Wade Allen and the two have a son named Cash Alexander Allen born on 12 January 2007.
Career
During her youth, Gish accumulated significant acting experience that culminated with a starring role in the 1986 teen film Desert Bloom. During this time she was active in the Lutheran denomination and became fluent in Spanish. Gish went to Northern University High School in Cedar Falls, Iowa where she graduated in 1989. She attended Duke University where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and focused her energies on the drama program, film studies and women's studies. She was a student in Professor Reynolds Price's long-running Milton course while at Duke and received a BA in English in July 1993. Numerous television and film appearances followed, building on her previous teen acting experiences.
In 1989, Gish got her first major TV film role in When He's Not a Stranger as a rape victim Lyn McKenna.
In 2001, Gish joined the cast of The X-Files as Special Agent Monica Reyes after series star David Duchovny announced his intention to leave the show. During the eighth and ninth seasons, Gish and fellow newcomer Robert Patrick became the show's principal characters and it was presumed that the two could carry on the show even after Gillian Anderson left. While it is generally agreed their performances were good, ratings continued to drop with the departure of Duchovny and his dynamic with Gillian Anderson; the ninth season of The X-Files became the show's last.
In 2003, Gish guest-starred on The West Wing playing Elizabeth Bartlet Westin, eldest daughter of President Josiah Bartlet (Martin Sheen). She appeared several times over the following seasons, rounding out the fictional Bartlet family also consisting of First Lady Abigail Bartlet (Stockard Channing) and daughters Ellie (Nina Siemaszko) and Zoey (Elisabeth Moss).
In 2006, Gish played the role of Julia in the independent movie The Celestine Prophecy and costarred in Candles on Bay Street alongside Eion Bailey and Alicia Silverstone. In the same year, Gish began a continuing major role in the eleven-episode Showtime drama Brotherhood. There she plays fictional Rhode Island State Representative Tommy Caffee's wife Eileen, who strives to maintain a model political family while struggling with adultery and drug abuse. Gish has said her portrayal of Eileen Caffee is the best role she's had in 22 years as an actress. Brotherhood has been picked up for a second season of 10 episodes to air in Summer 2007, and Gish is slated to reprise her Eileen Caffee role.

Born: March 12, 1981
Location: Toronto, Canada
Luciana Carro is a Canadian actress of Italian descent. Being a shy girl her parents encouraged her to go into acting which she did.
She moved to Vancouver in 2000 to become a professional actress and started out in TV series like The Chris Isaak Show, Smallville and The L Word. These led to her getting a part in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica TV series as Louanne "Kat" Katraine, a trainee Viper pilot that quickly grew out to become an ace pilot and a regular part on the series.
Her performance on the Battlestar Galactica TV series was quickly noted by film producers and she was cast in Two for the Money (alongside Al Pacino) and Dr. Dolittle 3. She was also cast for the recurring role of Stephanie Meyer on the critically acclaimed Everwood.
More From Her Website
Luciana Carro is a Canadian Actress hailing originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
She caught the acting bug at a very early age, almost by accident. Her father and mother, both seeing a shy girl in their daughter, encouraged Luciana to participate in theater and acting competitions. Her positive experiences from these young steps into the competitive performing arts brought her to Vancouver, British Columbia in the year of 2000 with the intention of taking the next set of steps towards stardom.
Once her feet found footing in "Hollywood North" Luciana quickly went from auditions to regularly recurring roles on television shows such as "The Chris Isaac Show", "Smallville" and the "The L Word" starting in in 2002. These roles lead her to audition for the Sci-fi Channel Original Series "Battlestar Galactica" where she was cast as "Kat"; a young, rebellious Viper Fighter Pilot first seen in the Battlestar Galactica Season 1 Episode, "Act of Contrition". It was her she would star along side veteran actors Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonald.
Landing the role of Lt. Louanne "Kat" Katraine (later to become the the CAG or Captin, Air Group) became a regular gig for Luciana which brought the attention of feature film casting directors. In 2004 Ms. Carro was cast in "White Chicks", the Wayan Brothers comedy, as well "Two for the Money" along side Al Pacino and Renee Russo. Yet it was the unexpected return to Battlestar Galactica in 2005 for Season Two of the series, that finally brought Luciana the opportunity to further develope a character for the long haul. This lead to the foundation of "Kat" as a strong hotshot pilot, contributing to the pivotal outcome of the story arc of the show while dramatically furthering character development of other cast members. While not a lead on "The Big G", the experience provided Luciana the ability to continuing to pursue feature film and TV roles between episodes.
This has worked greatly to her advantage and growth as an actor with fresh material and challenges always around the next corner.
With season three of Battlestar Galactica now in full production and the first episodes about to air, it promises to be the most explosive and addictive season yet. Luciana is enjoying the role of "Kat" but remains one of the busiest actors in Vancouver. During breaks in shooting on Battlestar, she has stared in feature films like Dr. Doolittle 3, as well as being cast as a recurring role of "Stephanie Meyer" on the critically acclaimed "Everwood " shown on the WB Network, shot on location in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the same time Luciana also made an impact with her appearance as "Cpl. Diana Phillips" in the Movie of the Week "Murder at the Presidio". She immediately went on to guest star in the investigative police thriller series "Killer Instinct".
As the lead of the independent short "Passageway" in 2004, Luciana is no longer shy of any challenge, taking on diverse and dynamic roles. This of course leads to more work in both TV and Film including the upcoming Feature Film "Blades of Glory" with Will Ferrell and of course her return as "Cpt. Louanne "Kat" Katraine" in the highly anticipated return of Battlestar Galactica Season 3, starting in October on Sci-Fi Channel in the United States, Space Channel in Canada.
Her time spent studying in theater school in Toronto as well as in Vancouver with Larry Moss plus her diverse range of acting experiences have prepared Luciana to take on larger roles and bigger challenges. Already having to turn down roles due to her commitments on Battlestar Galactica earlier in 2006 the phone continues to ring.
Completing a feature film shoot over the summer on location in Arizona, Luciana has been busy traveling back and forth between Los Angeles and Vancouver continuing work.
That's one busy Kat! Stay tuned for more updates on Luciana, wherever she may end up next!

Hartley was born to a socialist Jewish family and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended San Francisco State University's undergraduate nursing school and graduated magna cum laude in 1985. She is a registered nurse.
Adult film career
In 1982, during her sophomore year of nursing school, she started working as a stripper at Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell Theater.
She made her foray into the world of pornographic movies during her junior year, in 1984. Her debut performance was in the film Educating Nina which was produced by the veteran porn star Juliet Anderson (better known as Aunt Peg), and this proved to be a massive hit. Since then she has gone on to feature in over 400 first-run adult films, and has become one of the most enduring and recognizable performers in the industry.
She is best known within the adult film industry for her "bubble butt" (often referred to as the "best ass in the business"), interracial scenes and her lesbian scenes.
Politically, Hartley is a socialist and outspoken sex-positive feminist. Addressing other women, she said "Sex isn't something men do to you. It isn't something men get out of you. Sex is something you dive into with gusto and like it every bit as much as he does." Hartley has been an advocate for the adult film industry's right to exist, and, prior to the rise to stardom of Jenna Jameson, had often been called upon when television news programs and talk shows required an articulate, leading adult film actress to support the pro side. She appeared most notably on The Oprah Winfrey Show with fellow porn actress Ona Zee. The two came under hard scrutiny from the mostly female audience, but refused to back down and were outspoken in their support of the industry. She and Ona Zee also spoke out strongly against illegal drugs in the industry.
She was interviewed for Wendy McElroy's 1995 book XXX: A Woman's Right to Pornography. She relates how she was arrested in 1993 in Las Vegas along with 10 other adult stars (later known as the "Erotic Eleven") for having performed a lesbian show at an adult video industry fund raiser; an undercover police officer was present in the audience. Threatened with 6 to 12 years in prison for felony lesbianism and pandering, she was eventually allowed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor.
In addition to her more traditional roles in porn films, she has also produced, directed, and starred in a series of Guide to... films covering the entire sexual spectrum, from basic sexual intercourse and foreplay, to anal intercourse and bondage.
Hartley crossed over into mainstream Hollywood with an appearance in the 1997 film Boogie Nights in which she played William H. Macy's serially unfaithful wife. She also appeared in the 1996 Canadian film, Bubbles Galore.
Hartley is openly bisexual in her private life, and had what has been described as the longest stable relationship in the adult business, living in a ménage à trois with her husband Dave (whom she met when she was 19), and "wife" Bobby Lilly for 20 years. Hartley has since left that relationship, saying "I was too immature and he was too possessive. It didn't work... It ended up ending because it was the wrong three people involved." She has since married Ira Levine (aka Ernest Greene).
Porn actor Lexington Steele stated in an interview in 2001 that sex with Nina Hartley was undoubtedly the best sex he has ever had.

Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Stay (I Missed You)
Brother: Ben (conductor)
Boyfriend: David Duchovny (dated briefly in 1990s)

Born in Bethesda, Maryland, and raised in Dallas, Texas, Loeb attended The Hockaday School, an all-girls private school in Dallas. Her father is Dallas gastroenterologist Peter Loeb. She has three siblings -- Benjamin Loeb, Debbie Loeb, and Philip Loeb. After graduating from high school in 1986, she went to Brown University, where she graduated in 1990 with a degree in comparative literature. At Brown, she and Elizabeth Mitchell formed a band named Liz and Lisa, featuring future singer/songwriter and Brown classmate Duncan Sheik as a guitarist as well as the upcoming influential jazz/rock bassist Rick Lassiter while contemplating band names such as Nine Stories and Soto Voce'. The duo released the albums Liz and Lisa and Liz and Lisa - Days Were Different independently. Loeb had developed a following from her solo acoustic performances on the New York City coffeehouse circuit, where she sold a collection of her songs referred to as The Purple Tape.
Loeb's big break came when she was discovered by actor and friend Ethan Hawke, who lived in an apartment across the street from her in New York City. She met Hawke through mutual friends in the NYC theatre community. Hawke gave a tape of Loeb's song "Stay (I Missed You)" to director Ben Stiller during the making of the 1994 film Reality Bites. Stiller subsequently agreed to use the song in the film and on the film's soundtrack. "Stay" ultimately went on to become a number one hit on the American charts. When her song hit number one, Loeb earned the distinction of being the only artist to top the Hot 100 before being signed to any record label.
Recording career
In September 1995, Loeb's debut album, Tails, was released. The album was co-produced by Juan Patiño, her longtime then-boyfriend. Although none of the singles from Tails could quite match the breakthrough appeal of "Stay" (which was also included on this album), Loeb still managed a Top-Twenty hit with "Do You Sleep?" and two moderately successful radio hits with "Taffy," and "Waiting for Wednesday." Tails went on to achieve platinum status.
In 1997, a second major-label album, Firecracker, was released. Though critically praised, it did not have the commercial success of Tails, but the single "I Do" was popular on radio (it charted in the Top Twenty) and music television. The song "How" featured in the soundtracks for the films Twister and Jack Frost, and was featured in the Buffy episode "Homecoming". "Let's Forget About It" was released as a single. At this point Loeb dropped the name of her support band, Nine Stories, and performed under her own name. "Firecracker" went Gold. Loeb's band, "Nine Stories", is named after the J. D. Salinger collection.
In 2000, she participated on the Ozzy Osbourne tribute album Bat Head Soup performing Goodbye to Romance with Dweezil Zappa on guitar.
Loeb's next project was Cake and Pie the release of which was delayed until 2002. The album was a commercial failure (despite excellent reviews) and did not receive any major backing or promotion from her record label. She was eventually dropped, and she bought the rights to the masters of the songs from that album. It was re-released by Artemis Records in late 2002, with the songs rearranged and some deletions/additions. Featuring new packaging, it was retitled Hello Lisa. A children's album called Catch the Moon was independently released in 2003. Videos from this album have been featured on the Noggin TV network for children, alongside those of Laurie Berkner and Dan Zanes, rockers who have crossed over much further into the children's music field.
In May 2004, Loeb announced that her longtime relationship with Dweezil Zappa was over. In 2004, Loeb changed record labels once again, due to a lack of promotion from her former label, Artemis Records. She was signed to the independent label Zoe/Rounder, and The Way It Really Is was released August 2004. The album was Loeb's fifth studio-recorded album.
Her latest album, The Very Best of Lisa Loeb, was released in January 2006.
More recently, Loeb has contributed vocals to New Found Glory's cover of "Stay", which was featured on their 2007 LP From the Screen to Your Stereo Pt. 2. Loeb also guest performed on the song "Anti-Hero" on all-female Japanese musical group Rin''s album Inland Sea.
When not touring, or doing other promotional work, she resides in Los Angeles.
Loeb is an avid collector of Hello Kitty items, including a Hello Kitty Stratocaster, manufactured by Squier. She was featured on the American Sanrio website.
Acting and reality television
Loeb has had several guest appearances on television shows, such as The Nanny in 1997. In 1998, she played the voice of a newborn baby in The Rugrats Movie and played a musician in an episode of Cupid. In 1999, Loeb was featured as a news reporter in the horror film House on Haunted Hill. In 2004, she was featured in Serial Killing 101.
On January 16, 2004, her reality show Dweezil & Lisa first aired on Food Network, in which she shared title billing with her longtime boyfriend Dweezil Zappa. In the opening for each episode of Dweezil & Lisa, she claimed to be a vegetarian who enjoyed eating the occasional serving of bacon. "She is the best singer in the world" (Dweezil Zappa). In 2005, she appeared on The Colbert Report as herself as part of a small gag in which the eponymous host could not remember all the lyrics of "Stay," and asked Loeb, who was standing by a camera with her guitar, how it went. She sang and strummed a little to jog Colbert's memory.
She has been the voice of Mary Jane Watson in the animated show Spider-Man: The New Animated Series, broadcast on MTV. She also did voice acting for the character of Lutina in the video game Grandia Xtreme. On Friday, May 18, 2007 she did the voice of a character on the Disney Channel's Shorty McShorts' Shorts.
In the fall and winter of 2005, Loeb taped a reality show, #1 Single, for the E! Channel, in New York City. The show focused on her quest for love, success, career and family and premiered on the E! Channel in January 2006 in an eight-part series, coinciding with the release of Loeb's new album, The Very Best of Lisa Loeb.
On August 2, 2007, Lisa Loeb co-hosted The View. In the episode, she defended a "woman's right to choose, a right to control her body, and have an alternative... something that's safe", clashing with regular co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck on more than one exchange.
Style
Loeb is known for wearing distinctive cat-eye shaped tortoiseshell glasses. She says she is allergic to contact lenses. She has stated in numerous interviews she is very nearsighted with a prescription near -6.00.

In the summer of 2004, Underwood auditioned for American Idol in St. Louis. On March 22, 2005, Underwood sang a powerful rendition of the number one 80's rock hit Alone by Heart and the notoriously hard-to-please judge Simon Cowell predicted that Underwood would not only win the competition, but would outsell all previous Idol winners. Underwood was the second winner never to have been voted in the bottom three. While on the show, Underwood gained a loyal fan base known as "Carrie's Care Bears." Interestingly, she is in the same sorority (Sigma Sigma Sigma) as Linda Denham, the creator of the original Care Bears franchise.
On May 25, 2005, Underwood was crowned the winner of the fourth season of American Idol, beating out Bo Bice.
Underwood appeared on the sixth season of American Idol, where she sang her single "Wasted" on March 8. This was her fourth time performing on the show since winning the competition in 2005. Also, Underwood performed at the Idol Gives Back concert singing her new song, "I'll Stand By You", (a cover of the Pretenders hit) along with Kelly Clarkson, Rascal Flatts, and others. Underwood sang the same song at American Idol's season finale on May 23, 2007, receiving a standing ovation.

AKA Sharon Vonne Stone
Born: 10-Mar-1958

Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Basic Instinct
Father: Joseph Stone (factory worker)
Mother: Dorothy Stone (housewife)
Sister: Kelly Stone (younger)
Brother: Mike Stone (actor)
Husband: George Englund, Jr. (div.)
Husband: Michael Greenburg (m. 18-Aug-1984, div. 20-Jan-1987)

Son: Roan Joseph Bronstein (adopted, b. 22-May-2001)
Boyfriend: Christian Slater (actor, dated 2006-...)
Stone was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, located between Pittsburgh and Erie, Pennsylvania. The second of four children, she is the daughter of Joseph Stone, a tool and dye manufacturer, and Dorothy (née Lawson), an accountant and homemaker. She has Irish ancestry, with roots in Galway.
She has described herself as "a nerdy, ugly duckling who sat in the back of the closet with a flashlight, and a set of C cell batteries. I was never a kid. I walked and talked at 10 months. I started school in the second grade when I was five, a real weird, academically driven kid, not at all interested in being social. Recess was a drag until I realized I didn't have to play, that I could lean up against a wall and read." Most of the kids disliked her because she was standoffish and did not play children's games. One day on the playground she announced, "I am the new Marilyn Monroe." Her mother once said: "Sharon has been posing from the day she arrived. She came out posing."
As a young woman, reportedly, her IQ was tested and rated at a high level of 154 points. After skipping a grade in school, she was involuntarily transferred from Saegertown High School to Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, enrolling at the age of fifteen years. She returned for a visit to her college in March of 2007 for academic purposes, and there to her surprise she received an honorary doctorate from their president.
1970s
Because she was very self-conscious of her looks, to the point that one biographer said she suffered from "a textbook case of body dysmorphic disorder," her uncle bribed her with US$100 to enter a local beauty contest in order to improve her self-esteem. She entered the contest because she needed the money to help pay her college tuition. She lost the contest, but one of the judges encouraged her to enter the Miss Pennsylvania contest, which she declined. Instead, she entered the county contest and won the title of Miss Crawford County in Meadville. One of the pageant judges said she should quit school and move to New York to become a fashion model. When her mother heard this, she agreed, and, in 1977 Stone left Meadville, moving in with an aunt in New Jersey. Within four days of her arrival in New Jersey, she was signed by Ford Modeling Agency in New York. After signing with Ford, Stone spent a few years modeling, and appeared in TV commercials for Burger King, Clairol and Maybelline, but she did not enjoy her work.
1980–1990
While living in Europe she decided to quit modeling and become an actress. "So I packed my bags, moved back to New York, and stood in line to be an extra in a Woody Allen movie," she later recalled. She was cast for a brief but memorable role in Allen's Stardust Memories (1980), and then had a speaking part a year later in the horror movie Deadly Blessing (1981), which was a big box-office success. When French director Claude Lelouch saw Stone in Stardust Memories he was so impressed that he cast her in Les Uns et Les Autres (1982), starring James Caan. She was only on screen for two minutes, and did not appear in the credits.
Her next role was in Irreconcilable Differences (1984), starring Ryan O'Neal, Shelley Long, and a young Drew Barrymore. Stone plays a starlet who breaks up the marriage of a successful director and his screenwriter wife. The story was based on the real-life experience of director Peter Bogdanovich, his set designer wife Polly Platt, and Cybill Shepherd, who as a young actress starred in Bogdanovich's The Last Picture Show (1971). The highlight of her performance is when her cocaine addict character plays Scarlett O'Hara in a musical pitched as a remake of Gone with the Wind. Later that year, she took a part on Magnum, P.I., the highest-rated television show at the time.
Throughout the rest of the 1980s she appeared in King Solomon's Mines (1985), and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold (1987), both of which have become cult classics in recent years. She also played the wife of Steven Seagal's character in Above the Law (1988).
Her appearance in Total Recall (1990) with Arnold Schwarzenegger gave her career a much-needed jolt. To coincide with the movie's release, she posed nude for Playboy magazine where she clearly wasn't shaved, showing off the buff body she developed in preparation for the movie (she pumped iron and learned Tae Kwon Do). She said she posed for the magazine because she needed the money. "I had just remodeled my house. I was broke. I needed the bread." In 1999, she was rated among the 25 sexiest stars of the century by Playboy.
The role that made her a star was that of Catherine Tramell, a brilliant, bisexual serial killer in Basic Instinct (1992). Stone had to wait and actually turned down offers for the mere prospect to play Tramell (the part was offered to 13 other actresses before being offered to Stone). Several better known actresses of the time such as Geena Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Meg Ryan, Melanie Griffith, Kelly Lynch and Julia Roberts turned down the part mostly because of the nudity required. In the movie’s most notorious scene, Tramell is being questioned by the police and she crosses and uncrosses her legs revealing the fact she was not wearing any underwear. When seeing her own vulva in the leg-crossing scene during a screening of the film, she went into the projection booth and slapped director Paul Verhoeven. "I knew that we were going to do this leg-crossing thing and I knew that we were going to allude to the concept that I was nude, but I did not think that you would see my vagina in the scene," she said. "Later, when I saw it in the screening I was shocked. I think seeing it in a room full of strangers was so disrespectful and so shocking, so I went into the booth and slapped him and left." Stone claims to have been tricked into the stunt and considered a lawsuit.
Verhoeven reportedly told her to take her panties off because they were visible through her dress, when in fact he had a camera filming between her legs and did not tell her. Later she admitted that the scene helped make the movie the number one box office hit of the year. That year, she was rated by People magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world.
In 1992 photographer George Hurrell took a series of photographs of Stone, Sherilyn Fenn, Julian Sands, Raquel Welch, Eric Roberts and Sean Penn. In these portraits he recreated his style of the 1930s, with the actors posing in costumes, hairstyle and makeup of the period.
In November 1995, Stone received her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, located at 6925 Hollywood Blvd. That same year, Empire magazine chose her as one of the 100 sexiest stars in film history. In October 1997, she was ranked among the top 100 movie stars of all time by Empire magazine.
In 1996, she received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Dramatic Motion Picture for her role as "Ginger" in Martin Scorsese's Casino (1995). Later that year, she also earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for the role.
In 2001, she starred opposite actress Ellen Degeneres in the movie If These Walls Could Talk 2, in which she played a lesbian trying to start a family.
In 2003, she appeared in three episodes from the 8th season of The Practice as Sheila Carlisle. For her performances, she received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.

Vida Guerra is a Cuban-born American model, actress, and singer. Her first notable appearance was in the U.S. edition of FHM magazine in December 2002; since then, she has modeled for many other men's magazines.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Guerra moved with her family to the United States soon after, ending up in the town of Perth Amboy, New Jersey. While growing up, she entered several fashion shows modeling swim wear, and appeared in a few music videos.
Career
Guerra's first national exposure came when she appeared in a lingerie spread for FHM in December 2002. The magazine later reported that following its publication, almost one-third of their mail was from readers demanding more photos of her. She was called back for more photo shoots and became "FHM's Model of the Year" in 2004. Since then, she has been featured in many magazines, including DUB, Smooth, Escape, and Open Your Eyes, often as the "cover girl". Guerra has made multiple appearances on several Spanish language television programs such as El Gordo y la Flaca (The Fat Man and the Thin Woman). She has also become a staple in music videos, appearing in "Shake Ya Tailfeather" (Nelly, P. Diddy and Murphy Lee, from the Bad Boys II soundtrack, 2003) and "The New Workout Plan" (Kanye West, 2004), in "Obsession (No Es Amor)" (Frankie J featuring Baby Bash, 2005) among others. In addition, Guerra has appeared in a commercial for Burger King's TenderCrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch, a couple of sketches on Chappelle's Show (including "R. Kelly's '(I Wanna) Piss on You' Music Video", which spoofed the R. Kelly sex tape), and the film National Lampoon's Dorm Daze 2. She lent her voice to the video game Scarface: The World Is Yours.
In April 2005, Guerra's camera phone was allegedly hacked. Dozens of photos, including nude pictures, were widely disseminated on the Internet. Guerra said the nude images were of another woman, and that they had been mixed with genuine, non-nude camera-phone images of her to create the false appearance that she was the naked woman pictured. However, the head of her record label maintained that the nude photos were of Guerra and that she had deliberately leaked them as a publicity stunt. Guerra was dropped by the label over this incident.
Guerra was voted Number 26 in "F.H.M's Top 100 Sexiest Females" of 2005 and has twice been named the winner of the magazine's "Best Butt Award". She has produced her own swimsuit calendars (and accompanying "behind the scenes" DVDs) and a 2006 DVD titled Vida Guerra: Exposed. Guerra also appears on Primped, a television program for mobile phones produced by GoTV Networks, in which she helps three "average" women become "primped".
The July 2006 issue of Playboy featured the first formal nude photos of Guerra. Part of her motivation for posing for the magazine, she said, was the camera phone incident; she wanted people to see how she really looked like naked

Executive summary: Catherine Parker on The Pretender
Husband: James Powers (d.)
Parker began ballet training at age 6 and at age 15 she joined a professional dance company. She quit her career in ballet after three years of touring and trained to become an actress while working as a bartender. Her first documented film role was at age 19 in the movie Rented Lips in which she played a dancer/nurse.
Andrea Parker got her break in television playing a nurse on the award-winning Seinfeld episode "The Contest" in 1992. After that first speaking role, she had several other guest-starring roles in television series and movies, most notably a recurring role in ER as Linda Farrell, the love interest of Dr. Doug Ross, and as Caitlin Pike in JAG. She was a body double for Julia Roberts in the movie Pretty Woman; hers are the legs seen in the opening scene of the main character zipping up her boots. She also did several pilots before she gained a cult-following for her role as Miss Parker on the NBC television series The Pretender.
Parker says she felt compelled to play the role of the complex, cynical, powerful and intimidating yet somewhat tortured Ice Queen because her name was "all over the script." Miss Parker is a character many viewers love and others love to hate. Parker also played the minor role of Catherine Parker, Miss Parker's mother in The Pretender, a role that is in stark contrast to the character Miss Parker.
After The Pretender was cancelled by NBC in 2000, Parker did another guest spot on JAG before signing on to reprise her role as Miss Parker in the telemovies for The Pretender, which aired on TNT in 2001. She then returned to series television in 2002 and starred in the ABC network comedy Less Than Perfect, playing Lydia Weston until it was cancelled in 2006. She has made several guest appearances on television talk shows and celebrity events such as the various celebrity poker tournaments.
Parker is noted for her support of various charities such as the National Hospice Palliative Care Organization, Glenn Siegel's My Good Friend charity organization, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research and Project Angel Food. Parker is also trained as a stunt-driver and can handle firearms.
In February 2006, Parker attended a benefit to help with former Pretender co-stars Michael T. Weiss and James Denton for Cure Autism Now.

She subsequently won a Fresh Faces contest in New York City and a $500,000 modeling contract. She began professional modeling at the age of 14 and two years later Taylor was a millionaire and president of her own company, Niki, Inc. Her first magazine cover was an issue of Seventeen and at 17, she graced the cover of Vogue, becoming the youngest model to do so. She has over 400 worldwide magazine covers to her credit and her six covers of Allure, Vogue, ELLE, Marie Claire, Self, and Shape, all in the month of May 1996, have become known as the "Niki Six." She was named one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in 1991 and appeared in the 1997, 1998 and 1999 editions of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, as well as on the 1998 cover of their swimsuit calendar.
In 1992, Taylor became the first spokesmodel under 18 to sign a major contract with CoverGirl and she became a feature in their national advertising campaign. Some of her other ad campaigns have been for Liz Claiborne, Nokia, Ellen Tracy, L'Oréal, Lee Jeans and Pantene. Taylor also simultaneously had six enormous billboards in NYC's Times Square, in addition to three yearlong billboards for Liz Claiborne. Outside of modeling, Taylor has been an interviewer for several segments of the international syndicated show, Lifestyles, covered events for NBC and guest-hosted MTV's Fashionably Loud. She also appears in former boyfriend Keith Urban's "Somebody Like You" music video.
Health struggles
In 2001, Taylor went to rehab to treat an addiction to Vicodin, a prescription painkiller. On April 29, 2001, Taylor was critically injured in a car accident in Atlanta, Georgia. The driver of the car she was in was attempting to answer his cell phone, lost control of the car and smashed into a utility pole. Taylor was wearing her seat belt at the time and was not thrown from the vehicle; however, she suffered severe internal injuries, including a collapsed lung and serious liver damage, and she spent six weeks unconscious. Taylor was treated at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and had at least 80 operations, as well as physical therapy.
Personal life
Taylor married Arena football player, Matt Martinez, on July 19, 1994, and their twin sons, Jake and Hunter, were born in December the same year. Taylor and Martinez divorced in 1996 and she later dated country singer Keith Urban from 2002 to 2004.
She became engaged to NASCAR driver Burney Lamar in October 2006. They were married on December 27, 2006, at the Grande Colonial Hotel in La Jolla, California. Instead of gifts, the couple asked for donations to be sent to Victory Junction Gang Camp, a camp for terminally ill children in North Carolina.
Life today
Taylor lives with her husband and two sons in a French colonial house on seven acres in Brentwood, Tennessee. "I love being a mom and the chaos it brings me," she told People. "It reminds me how lucky and blessed I am." Taylor rarely models anymore, but she opened a clothing store, Abbie and Jesse's, in Cool Springs with her manager and friend, Lou Taylor (no relation), in July 2005. She also founded the Begin Foundation for the Advancement of Women in Business, which helps women with business ideas but who have limited resources.
On January 29, 2007, Taylor filed a federal lawsuit charging E! Entertainment with slander and emotional distress in their profile "Boulevard of Broken Dreams." "My life is far from a 'boulevard of broken dreams," she said. "(With) my recent marriage, successful fragrance line, clothing boutique and women's foundation, it's better than it's ever been."

Childhood and family
Heaton was the second youngest of five children born to an Irish American Roman Catholic family in Bay Village, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. Her father is well-known Cleveland Plain Dealer sportswriter, Chuck Heaton. Patricia spent her grade school years attending St. Raphael Elementary School in Bay Village, Ohio.
When Heaton was twelve, her mother died. Heaton has three sisters, Sharon, Alice, and Frances, and one brother, Michael, who is the "Minister of Culture" columnist for Cleveland Plain Dealer and a writer for the paper's Friday Magazine.
Her memoir, Motherhood and Hollywood: How to Get a Job Like Mine, was published by Villard Books in 2002. Heaton has been married to British actor David Hunt since 1990. The couple has four sons: Sam Hunt (b. 1994); John Basil Hunt (b. 1996); Joseph Charles 'Joe' Hunt (b. 1997); and Daniel Patrick 'Dan' Hunt (b. January 20, 1999). Heaton was once quoted as saying "once a Catholic, always a Catholic"; however, she now attends an evangelical Presbyterian church with Hunt and their kids. She has neither left the Roman Catholic Church nor converted to Presbyterianism.
Career
After graduating from Ohio State University, where she became a sister of Delta Gamma Sorority, with a B.A. in drama in 1980, Heaton moved to New York City to study with drama teacher William Esper.
Theater
Heaton made her only Broadway appearance in the chorus of the Don't Get God Started (1987), after which she and fellow students created Stage Three, an off-Broadway acting troupe.
In January 2007, Heaton returned to the stage to co-star with Tony Shalhoub in the Off-Broadway play The Scene at Second Stage Theater in New York City. For this performance, Heaton has been nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress category for the 22nd Lucille Lortel Awards.
Television
When Stage Three brought one of their productions to Los Angeles, Heaton caught the eye of a casting director for the ABC drama thirtysomething. She was cast as an oncologist, leading to six appearances on the series from 1989-1991. Other TV guest appearances include: Alien Nation (1989), Matlock (1990), Party of Five (1996), The King of Queens (1999), and Danny Phantom (2004).
Heaton was featured in three short-lived sitcoms - Room for Two (1992) with Linda Lavin, Someone Like Me (1994), and Women of the House (1995) with Delta Burke - before landing the plum role of beleaguered wife, mother, and in-law Debra Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond (1996 - 2005) with Ray Romano, Doris Roberts, Peter Boyle, Brad Garrett, and Monica Horan. She was nominated in each of the series' last seven seasons for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy, winning the award twice. Starting September 2007, Heaton is scheduled to co-star with Kelsey Grammer in Back to You, a new situation comedy on FOX.
Film
Heaton's television movies include Shattered Dreams (1990), Miracle in the Woods (1997), A Town Without Christmas (2001), as well as the remake of Neil Simon's The Goodbye Girl (2004) with Jeff Daniels, and The Engagement Ring (2005), both for TNT.

Other credits
In 2003, Heaton appeared in a series of television and radio commercials as spokesperson for the various incarnations of the grocery chain Albertsons, such as Acme, Jewel, Shaw's, and Albertsons. In 2007, Albertsons created the Crazy About Food slogan and campaign and decided they no longer needed Heaton. She has also appeared in advertisements for Pantene hair-care products.
Political advocacy
Heaton is supportive of pro-life groups and causes, opposing abortion, euthanasia, and the death penalty. According to The New York Times, Heaton also supports gay rights and the use of most birth control.
Heaton's advocacy became particularly visible during the debate regarding Terri Schiavo. In addition, Heaton is Honorary Chair of Feminists for Life, a non-partisan organization which opposes abortion and embryonic stem cell research and supports other pro-life causes.
In October 2006, Heaton appeared in a commercial opposing a Missouri state constitutional amendment concerning embryonic stem cell research, which subsequently passed. Appearing with Heaton were actor Jim Caviezel, Jeff Suppan of the Milwaukee Brewers, Mike Sweeney of the Kansas City Royals and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner, formerly of the St. Louis Rams. AKA Jessica Claire Biel
Born: 3-Mar-1982
Birthplace: Ely, MN
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: The Rules of Attraction
Father: Jon Biel
Mother: Kim Biel
Brother: Justin (younger)
Boyfriend: Chris Evans
Boyfriend: Adam LaVorgna (actor, ex)
Boyfriend: Derek Jeter (baseball player, dated 2006)
Boyfriend: Justin Timberlake (singer, dated 2007)
Jessica Claire Biel is an American actress and former fashion model best known for appearing in several Hollywood films such as Summer Catch, the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Illusionist, as well as for her early television role of Mary Camden in the long-running family-drama series 7th Heaven.
Early life
Biel was born in Ely, Minnesota to Jonathan Edward Biel, an entrepreneur, and Kimberly Conroe. Biel, who has a younger brother, Justin, grew up in Boulder, Colorado, where her family had moved when she was very young. She initially trained to become a vocalist with the hope of performing in musical theater and appeared in several musicals at an early age including The Sound of Music, Annie, Beauty and the Beast and Anything Goes
Early career
It wasn't until Biel attended the International Modeling and Talent Association Convention in Los Angeles in 1994 when her career started to take off as a fashion model.
Rise to fame (1996-2002)
Biel's first big break came when at 14 years old she landed the role of Mary Camden on the WB TV Series 7th Heaven. The family drama from Aaron Spelling and Brenda Hampton became the most popular (and remains the longest running) series on the fledgling network. Jessica's film career also began at age 15 when she played alongside Peter Fonda in his Golden Globe winning performance in Ulee's Gold (1997). Aside from acting, Jessica became a spokesmodel for L'Oreal cosmetics in 2002.
In 2000, Biel posed topless in a layout of Gear magazine, although she did not actually appear frontally nude. It was nonetheless controversial because she was only 17 at the time of the shoot. Her frustration and fear about being typecast was one of the reasons that led to her decision. She blamed her saintly image on 7th Heaven for limiting her film career, including losing a lead role in American Beauty, which eventually went to Thora Birch. Jessica also hoped that by posing she would get out of her 7th Heaven contract, which she accomplished. She later said she regretted posing for the magazine and regards it as a learning experience. Jessica returned to 7th Heaven full time for the 2001—2002 season and then focused her attention on her movie career and has made minimal TV appearances since then. In 2002, she also had a role in the film The Rules of Attraction based on a novel by Bret Easton Ellis.
Film stardom (2003-2005)
After her departure from 7th Heaven, she accepted the role of Erin Hardesty in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003). The movie was met with moderate critical attention, but was successful commercially making over 80 million dollars stateside with its 9 million dollar budget. She has also had starring roles in Blade: Trinity (2004) and Stealth (2005), the latter of which was a box-office flop, losing $99 million USD. Biel was also rumored to be up for the part of Elizabeth in The Fog (a part originated by scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis). Later reports stated Biel did not want to do any more horror films. The part eventually went to Maggie Grace of Lost. Turning down the role proved to be a wise move: the remake was a box office flop, which had been predicted by various critics, as the film was not screened for the press prior to its release. After a nearly three year absence, Jessica surprised her fans by making one final appearance in the series finale of 7th Heaven in May 2006. The series was later renewed, at last minute, for an 11th and, as it turned out, final season. Biel did not make any future appearances in the show.
Breakthrough (2006-present)
After several indifferent feature films, her film career finally blossomed when she played a turn-of-the-century duchess in The Illusionist (2006), which received good reviews and generated a profit at the box office. In 2006, she also starred Home of the Brave, about soldiers returning from Iraq, premiered in Los Angeles on December 5, 2006. She next starred opposite Adam Sandler in the comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, which went to number one at the box office, making 34 million dollars in its opening weekend, and is slated to appear in two more films in 2008. A Woman of No Importance, about a woman's past comes back to haunt her when the man who left her with a child becomes the potential employer of their illegitimate son. Based on the play by Oscar Wilde. Taking over Lindsay Lohan's part, which is set to begin filming in the fall of 2007. She'll also appear in Powder Blue opposite Forest Whitaker, about four desperate individuals who intersect in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve.
Personal life
Biel attended the exclusive private Lycée Français de Los Angeles for high school. In fall 2000, she enrolled in an undergraduate study at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. Having attended there during fall 2000, spring 2001 and fall 2002 semesters, she left before completing a degree program to concentrate on her acting career.
Biel's hobbies include ballet, soccer, running, yoga and hiking. Biel currently resides in Los Angeles. She dated actor Chris Evans from 2001 to 2006, with at least one time "off" during that period. Together, they appeared in the films London and Cellular. She also dated another fellow actor, Adam LaVorgna, who portrayed the character of Robbie in 7th Heaven, for about two years. Jessica had been linked to New York Yankees star shortstop Derek Jeter.
In January 2007, Biel was linked to singer Justin Timberlake when pictures surfaced of the two snowboarding in Park City, Utah during the Sundance Film Festival. On May 12, 2007, the gossip was refueled with the release of romantic pictures of Timberlake and Biel on multiple dates, specifically caught kissing while dining in the UK accompanied by producer/mogul Timbaland and the Manchester United (at the time) footballer Alan Smith. Timberlake has said he is drawn to independent women.
