Stefani Morgan is an German-American pornographic actress.
Graduating from high school at age 16, Morgan began mainstream modeling when she was 17. During that time she met Joe Francis of Girls Gone Wild video fame at a nightclub, who in turn introduced her to Steven Hirsch, head of Vivid Entertainment. Hirsch signed her to Vivid, and Morgan soon after started working for Francis as a hostess for the Girls Gone Wild videos. Morgan did attend college for a time, but dropped out.
Morgan's first video for Vivid was the 2005 film Sunny starring Sunny Leone, where she performed with Manuel Ferrara; in fact her scene was already planned and coordinated before she signed her contract with Vivid. By May 2006 she had filmed six features and five additional movies. Morgan sought out the adult industry stating in a Hustler interview that she made more money in mainstream modeling. That she switched industries because she wanted to change Americans perceptions of sex.
In 2007, Morgan was nominated as the AVN Best New Starlet Award. She has also attracted attention in gossip columns for her alleged relationships with Rick Salomon, Jesse Metcalfe, Wilmer Valderrama and former Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee. Of Lee, Morgan says, "I'm convinced that 10 years from now I’m going to still be asked about him...We hung out a couple of times."
Morgan starred in the remake of Debbie Does Dallas called Debbie Does Dallas ... Again (2007), but left the adult entertainment business for a brief time afterwards. On the season finale of the Debbie Does Dallas ... Again documentary on the Showtime network chronicling the making of the film, there is a final scene with the cast at the film wrap party; the camera pans to each star or staff member who appeared in the documentary, and displays text detailing what each person had been doing since the film wrapped. Morgan's blurb read, Two weeks later, Stefani fell in love and left the industry. Her whereabouts are unknown.
On May 30th it was confirmed that Stefani would be writing weekly columns on insideSTL.com for a young entertainment website.

If I were to go off the rails and become this party kid, I would not be able to afford my lifestyle. I’ve never had a sense of entitlement. Perry has stated in the press that it's thanks to successful British singer-songwriters Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen that more female artists had been appearing on the charts. She went on to say that Winehouse and Allen "have introduced America to great music". She is known for her unconventional style of dress, often bright in color and reminiscent of different decades, as well as her frequent use of fruit-shaped accesories, mainly watermelon as part of her outfits. Perry has a contralto vocal range.
Biography
Early life
Perry was born in Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara County, California, USA. The middle child of two pastors, she grew up listening to gospel music and singing in church. She graduated from Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta, California in 2003 and immediately moved to Los Angeles at the age of 18. After Steve Thomas and Jennifer Knapp signed Perry to their label Red Hill Records, she released her first CD Katy Hudson in 2001, a Christian gospel album. In her teenage years, Perry found a Queen album with her friend, and later said, "From then on, they have been my biggest influence". Also among her musical influences are Alanis Morissette, Heart, and Joni Mitchell, as well as the Incubus album Morning View. She changed her surname to Perry because "Katy Hudson" was too close to Kate Hudson. Perry is her mother's maiden name. Perry's biggest influences are pop rockers Cher, Cyndi Lauper, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, and Shirley Manson, who, Perry says, "came out with a vengeance".
Career
In 2004, Perry worked for the record production team The Matrix, who had previously worked with Avril Lavigne, Liz Phair, Hilary Duff, Skye Sweetnam, Korn and Britney Spears, among others. Perry also began working on a debut mainstream album, writing with Glen Ballard, which was due for release in 2005; some of the collaborations included "Box", "Diamonds" and "Long Shot," which were released on Perry's official MySpace page. Her burgeoning music career led to her being named "The Next Big Thing" in October 2004 in Blender Magazine, where Perry stated she wasn't "a typical Christian", mentioning that she had done "lots of bad things" during her adolescence. One of the tracks she recorded with Ballard, "Simple", was released on the soundtrack of the 2005 film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. In 2006, Perry appeared on P.O.D.'s single, "Goodbye for Now". She has openly talked about her struggles within the music industry, such as being dropped from record labels for much of her early career. Her songs eventually captured the attention of Virgin Records CEO Jason Flom, who was the head of Capitol Music Group, and she signed to Capitol Music in early-2007. Perry is now regularly heard on MTV, VH1, as well as commercials. She most recently appeared on the MTV VMA Awards singing Madonna's hit single, "Like a Virgin". Perry also made headlines at the MTV Latin America awards, where during her performance, she jumped on a giant fake cake she thought was real. Embarassed, she proceeded to slip and fall over several times on stage because of all the icing she had gotten on the floor. Unable to stand up without falling over again, she was reduced to crawling off of the stage.
One of the Boys (2008-present)
Main article: One of the Boys (Katy Perry album)
After signing to Capitol Records, Perry began recording for her official mainstream debut album, released in 2008, working with Cathy Dennis, Greg Wells, Dr. Luke, Butch Walker, Max Martin, Dave Stewart, and Ted Bruner. The full-length album titled One of the Boys was released in the USA on June 17, 2008. Perry was an act in the 2008 Vans Warped Tour to promote the album.
Katy Perry on her 2008 Vans Warped TourThe album was preceded by a digital EP in late 2007, entitled "Ur So Gay", produced by and co-written with Greg Wells (OneRepublic, Mika). A video for the song premiered in early 2008, and brought Perry to the attention of Madonna, who mentioned her on KISS FM and KRQ's JohnJay & Rich morning show in Arizona, stating that "Ur So Gay" was her "favorite song right now," as well as another mention on Ryan Seacrest's Morning Show. "Ur So Gay" has been criticized for alleged homophobia.
On April 29, 2008, her first official single from One of the Boys, "I Kissed a Girl", debuted on the iTunes Store. The song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #76, climbing to #1 as of June 25, 2008. It has peaked on iTunes Top 100 at #1, as of June 3, 2008. The music video for "I Kissed a Girl" was released on May 21, 2008 on MySpace. An essay in Slant Magazine argues that the song "isn't problematic because it promotes homosexuality, but because its appropriation of the gay identity exists for the sole purpose of garnering attention—both from Perry's boyfriend and her audience."
In addition, she has had songs from the album featured on MTV's series The Hills ("Self Inflicted", "Waking Up in Vegas" and "Thinking of You"), on Oxygen Network's reality series Fight Girls, and on the 2008 film Baby Mama ("Fingerprints").
As an actress, she made a cameo appearance on Carbon Leaf's video "Learn to Fly" and on Gym Class Heroes' video "Cupid's Chokehold", playing the eventual love interest for her real-life boyfriend, lead singer Travis McCoy. On March 10, 2008, she appeared as herself on the ABC Family television series Wildfire, on the episode "Life's Too Short". She has appeared in print advertisements for Too Faced Cosmetics' Spring 2007 line. On June 12, 2008, Perry appeared as herself on the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless, who poses for the cover of the fictional magazine Restless Style; that same day she appeared on MTV's Total Request Live.
Perry released the second single "Hot N Cold" on September 9, 2008. This became Katy's second top 5 hit in the USA, it has also reached 26 in the UK a month before its release.
Lyrics controversies
Her two songs, "Ur So Gay" and "I Kissed a Girl", have been cited as being homophobic as well as misandric by columnists, activists, and commentators including Glenn Sacks, and gay periodicals like the Washington Blade.
MSNBC contributor Tony Sclafani wrote "The litmus test of hypocrisy here is that if you substituted a different minority in Perry’s tunes, they’d never get airplay. 'I Kissed a Black Guy' or 'Ur So Korean' would not be Top 40. For that matter, a song called 'I Kissed a Boy,' sung by a male, would probably die on the vine".
Others, such as Chicago Sun-Times columnist Dr. Laura Berman, find the lyrics positive, arguing that "the fact that this song [I Kissed a Girl] is sparking so much interest" suggests that our society is beginning to accept that there isn't always one box, gay or straight, for people to check".
Perry responded to the controversy about "Gay" with "It’s not a negative connotation. It’s not 'you're so gay', like 'you're so lame', but the fact of the matter is that this boy should’ve been gay. I totally understand how it could be misconstrued or whatever... I wasn’t stereotyping anyone in particular, I was talking about ex-boyfriends".

Carrie Fisher was born to celebrity superstar couple Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. Her father deserted the family for Elizabeth Taylor when Fisher was a toddler, and all three women -- Reynolds, Taylor, and Fisher -- are now united in hatred of him. Fisher believes her father has an undiagnosed bipolar disorder, and has said "The best thing Elizabeth Taylor did for me was getting Eddie Fisher out of our house". Fisher grew up surrounded by show business, and started smoking pot when she was hanging around with the gay dancers who worked for her mother. She appeared in her mother's stage show at age 12. At 16, having dropped out of school to pursue acting, Fisher appeared on Broadway in Irene, with her mother and Ruth Warrick. Fisher subsequently spent 18 months in London studying drama before coming to Hollywood.
In 1975 she made her film debut in Shampoo, as a nymphet with whom Warren Beatty has an affair, and two years later, at 19, she became Princess Leia. By this time Fisher was heavily alcohol- and drug-dependent. She reportedly smoked marijuana openly between takes of the first Star Wars movie, and used heavier drugs on weekends. She argued with writer-director George Lucas about her cinnamon-bun hairstyle (hated it) and joked that every day there was an auction to see which crew member got to yank off the tape restraining her bosom under her flowing gown. While the film made box office history, some critics were not kind to Fisher. She remembers that one described her as "bovine" and said she had "the worst characteristics of both my parents".
During the late 1970s and early 80s Fisher partied with the celebrity crowd, including her Blues Brothers co-stars Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. Throughout the filming of Under the Rainbow, with Chevy Chase and Billy Barty, she was stoned. Friends noticed that as they grew older and began to give up their pot and pills, alcohol and acid, Fisher did not. She filmed two Star Wars sequels, and the hair got better and the clothing nearly disappeared at one point, but Fisher's behavior was out of control. She had been in therapy since she was 15, and at 24 was diagnosed as manic-depressive (now referred to as bipolar). She refused to believe it, but her massive intake of drugs, both illicit and licit, were "keeping the monster in the box".
At 28 she woke up in the hospital, having her stomach pumped after overdosing on cocaine and painkillers. She entered rehab, and spent the next year heavily involved in a twelve-step program. She wrote about these experiences in her comic novel Postcards from the Edge, and followed that with a fictionalized account of her marriage to Paul Simon, Surrender the Pink. When Postcards was to be filmed, Fisher wrote the screenplay, and the film, with Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine, was very well received.
Following the birth of her daughter in 1992, Fisher wrote Delusions of Grandma. Her daughter's father was Hollywood agent Bryan Lourd, who ended up leaving Fisher for a man. This plunged Fisher into a morbid depression, barely able to get out of bed. In an effort to lift the depression a physician prescribed a number of drugs to which Fisher reacted badly: she collapsed and briefly stopped breathing. She was told to take a "medication vacation", and after six days without sleeping but with lots of hallucinations, Fisher had a complete psychotic break. In the mental hospital, Fisher was riveted to CNN and believed that she was both murderer Andrew Cunanan and the police who were searching for him. She had other delusions, but after some weeks in the hospital -- she is unsure how long -- she was able to go home and receive treatment on an outpatient basis. Her prescriptions totalled over 20 pills taken daily. She later had another manic jag when she went off her daytime meds, but her condition has since been kept under control. Fisher has said that her writing helps her to stay focused and channel her manic energy onto paper, instead of all over the people around her.
Fisher made the headlines again in 2005, when longtime friend and gay Republican campaign consultant R. Gregory Stevens died in her bed following a pre-Oscars party. The autopsy showed that a combination of cocaine and pain medication had stopped his enlarged heart. Fisher said she did not know he was under the influence of anything that evening. After returning home from one hospital stay, Fisher threw a party for all her friends, featuring a cake shaped like Fisher in bed, complete with icing IV racks. She keeps a sign posted in her front driveway that reads, "Beware of trains", although there are no trains nearby.

Carly Brook Schroeder is an American film and television actress.
She is best known for playing Serena Baldwin, the daughter of Scotty Baldwin in the General Hospital spin-off Port Charles. She also had a recurring role on the Disney Channel's Lizzie McGuire.
In 2007, she played the lead in Gracie, a film inspired by a real-life tragedy during the childhood of actors Elisabeth Shue and Andrew Shue. As of August 2008, Schroeder has finished shooting "Prayers for Bobby" and "Forget Me Not", modeling for Jessica McClintock and currently working showing off the new line to buyers around the globe.
Carly's younger brother, Hunter Schroeder, is also an actor; he has appeared with her in Gracie and Eye of the Dolphin. Her parents Paul and Kelli Schroeder currently reside in Ventura Co., California.
Carly is not related to Rick Schroeder of Silver Spoons and NYPD Blue fame.
Biography and Career
Schroeder was born in Valparaiso, Indiana. In 1990, while accompanying a cousin to an acting audition, the casting director asked if the cute three-year old would consider working for them. At first her mother was hesitant about the question but things such as money for a college education began to appeal to her. After her first job as a child print model, she began doing print work in Chicago for Sears, Roebuck and Company, Kmart, Spiegel, Land's End, Chuck E. Cheese's, and many other print advertisers. Two years later in 1995, child director Bob Ebel asked her to do a few television commercials.
In 1997, American Broadcasting Company (ABC) hired Schroeder to play Serena Baldwin on General Hospital. She was twice nominated for a Young Artist Award for her work on the show; once in 1999 and again in 2000, as well as a Young Star Award nomination in 1999 for Best Performance by a Young Actress in a Daytime TV Program.
Schroeder then appeared as Melina Bianco in The Disney Channel's Lizzie McGuire. Originally booked as a one-time appearance, she shot twelve episodes of the show and also appeared in The Lizzie McGuire Movie in 2003, in the same role.
In 2003, Schroeder auditioned for her first feature film and won the part of Millie in the thriller Mean Creek. The movie won wide acclaim for Schroeder and the rest of the cast, winning the Humanitas Prize at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, and also being awarded the 2005 Independent Spirit Festival Special Distinction Award for best ensemble cast.
Gracie was Shroeder's next film role, in 2006. In order to win the role, she began an intense three-month work-out that included a daily regime of not only physical fitness, but training in advanced soccer skills with professional athletes and trainers.
While Gracie was in theaters, Schroeder's other movie, Eye of the Dolphin, was receiving attention, winning two awards from the 2007 International Family Film Festival: a Best Child Actor win for Schroeder, and a Drama Feature win for the movie. The movie has been well received and continues to receive honors, including being named as an Official Selection for the Tribeca Film Festival, Delray Beach Film Festival, Kids First! Film Festival, Tiburon Film Festival, USA Family Film Festival and the Worldfest Houston Film festival.
At the 2007 Kids First Awards in October, Schroeder received the award for Best Emerging Actress, while the film received the Best Feature Award (ages 12-18).

She was born in 1959 to Olive and George Osmond. She was raised in a strict Mormon family along with her eight brothers. Marie was the only daughter and the next youngest child. Since her early age, her brothers maintained a career in show business, singing and performing on national television. She got her start as part of her brother's act The Osmonds on the The Andy Williams Show at the age of three. While her brothers performed and appeared on television shows through much of the 1960s, Marie mostly stayed out of the picture.
Music career
Early music success during the 70s - "Paper Roses"
Soon after the success of The Osmonds in 1970, Marie's older brother Donny Osmond was gaining success as a solo artist on the Pop Music charts and was becoming a teen idol. Marie was soon the only one in the family not making an impact on the music business. The Osmonds' management convinced Marie to try her hand at recording as well and Marie signed onto MGM Records to begin her career in the recording business. She began making concert appearances with The Osmonds, although she never became an official member of the group. Marie decided to pursue her musical career in Country Music in contrast to her brothers' Pop Music.
In 1973, Marie cut her first single as a solo artist. The song was written by Country Music singer Sonny James called "Paper Roses". The song was released that year and became a #1 Country hit, and making all the way to the Top 5 on the Pop charts as well, achieving Country Music crossover success. The song went Gold that year, and the album of the same name also went to the coveted #1 spot. At only 13 years old, Marie Osmond was one of the youngest Country Music singers to achieve significant hits on the Country charts.[citation needed] Before long, Marie Osmond had the music success equal to that of her brothers. She released another single and another album, both entitled "In My Little Corner of The World". The song made the Top 40 in 1974. Marie released a few more albums and a few more singles on her own through the rest of the decade, none of which were successful.
In 1974, Marie had two Pop Music duet hits with her brother Donny Osmond with the songs "I'm Leaving It All Up to You" and "Morning Side of the Mountain". "I'm Leaving It All Up to You" was also a Top 20 Country hit. In 1976, Marie and Donny Osmond began hosting the variety show Donny & Marie which ran on ABC until 1979. The brother-sister duet became known for the phrase they sang in the opening of each show: "I'm a little bit Country" (by Marie) and "I'm a little bit Rock'n Roll" (by Donny).
Later music success in the 80s - "Meet Me In Montana"
Marie went into brief retirement from the music business, and pursued a career in acting in the early 1980s. She turned down the lead role as Sandy in Grease because she didn't approve of the script's moral content and the role went to Olivia Newton-John. She appeared in some TV movies and did voice-over work for children's cartoons. Seeing the comeback success her brother Donny had in the 1980s, Marie made a comeback into Country Music as a solo artist, signing a deal with Curb Records in Nashville. In 1985 Marie and Dan Seals sang a duet called "Meet Me In Montana" which became a #1 Country hit that year.
Her follow-up to "Meet Me In Montana" was a solo hit called "There's No Stopping Your Heart", which reached #1 a second time for Marie. Her singles mainly focused on the more-popular Countrypolitan style. In late 1985, she released an album by the same name. In 1986, its single "Read My Lips" became popular. She hit #1 one last time in a duet with Paul Davis with the song "You're Still New to Me". She had a Top 20 hit called "I Only Wanted You", which was her last major hit on the Country charts. Osmond continued releasing singles throughout much of the 80s, including "I'm In Love And He's In Dallas", and the last charting single came in 1990 with "Like a Hurricane".
Acting career
Along with actor John Schneider, Osmond is the co-founder of the Children's Miracle Network. The singer played her mother, Olive, in the TV movie Side By Side: The True Story Of The Osmond Family. She also starred in the TV movies The Gift Of Love and I Married Wyatt Earp. She garnered rave reviews in the Broadway musicals The King and I (as Anna) and The Sound of Music (as Maria) in the mid-1990s. She returned to television first in the short lived 1995 ABC sitcom Maybe This Time and then with brother Donny in 1998 to co-host Donny And Marie, a talk/entertainment show that lasted just two seasons.
She appeared as herself in the 2001 TV movie Inside The Osmonds, which showed how the brothers' egos, their father's fiscal mismanagement, and the family's quest to build a multimedia empire led to their downfall. The film was produced by her younger brother Jimmy Osmond.
In 2006, she was a judge on the short-lived show Celebrity Duets.
Osmond had a radio show, Marie And Friends that was canceled after 10 months.
On August 29, 2007 it was announced that Marie Osmond would appear as a celebrity contestant on the 5th season of the ABC show Dancing with the Stars.
Doll business
In 1991, Marie parlayed her love of dolls into a business that would become one of the most successful collectible doll brands in the industry. Since Marie virtually grew up on television, she chose to debut her doll line on electronic retailing giant QVC. While QVC continues to be the doll's primary source of distribution, Marie has expanded the line into retail stores, Internet sales, and direct response.
Along the way, Marie learned to sculpt. Her first sculpture, a toddler doll she created and named after her mother, "Olive May," set a collectible record on QVC, selling over $3,000,000 worth in its first airing at midnight. The hallmark of a Marie sculpture is the beauty dot placed near the doll's left eye, signifying Marie's own beauty mark. Since then, Marie has sculpted several dolls, including "Remember Me," "Baby Adora Belle," and her hallmark doll, "Adora Belle."
Marie celebrated her 15th Anniversary of selling dolls in 2006. Marie has launched her own embroidery machine, sewing machine, and embroidery designs through Bernina. She has been featured on the cover of Designs in Machine Embroidery, a national magazine for machine embroidery enthusiasts. The cover article featured an interview with Marie where she discussed how she became involved in embroidery.
Marie's doll collection has garnered numerous award nominations, including "Trendsetter of the Year" and Dolls magazine's "Awards of Excellence."
Personal life
Osmond married Stephen Craig. They had one child, Stephen James Craig before they divorced in 1985. She then married record producer Brian Blosil in May 1986 in a Latter Day Saint wedding ceremony. The couple had seven children, some of whom are adopted: Jessica Marie Blosil, Rachael Lauren Blosil, Michael Thomas Blosil, Brandon Warren Blosil, Brianna Patricia Blosil, Matthew Richard Blosil, and Abigail Michelle Blosil. On 30 March 2007, Osmond and Blosil announced they were going through a divorce.
In 1999 Osmond revealed that she had suffered from severe post partum depression. In August 2006, it was suggested by several US tabloids that Osmond had attempted suicide; these were denied by her publicity team who said she had suffered an adverse reaction to a medication she was taking.
She has launched a personal crusade to clean up the Internet after learning her two teenage daughters have been posting explicit correspondence on their MySpace.com websites. She felt compelled to give a statement to US tabloid National Enquirer after the publication uncovered the explicit content on her daughters' blogs. In her statement Osmond says, "I am saddened by some of the choices that two of our children have made. The insidious potential for harm from adolescent Internet sites like MySpace.com only exacerbates these kinds of problems. If my being a celebrity figure is good for anything, let it be as a voice of warning to other parents that no matter how protective we think we may have been with our children in the past, we need to become more knowledgeable and even more vigilant now in order to protect them."

An opera fanatic, Walsh overlooked some bizarre antics of a date in the 1990s because he had tickets to the Metropolitan Opera. “I get into the car, and the first thing this guy does is spray me with perfume. I don’t even know where it came from. Maybe it belonged to the last woman he killed?”
Walsh told Women’s Health she went from blonde to red because she never was a blonde at heart. "Being blonde was always other than what I really am. I thought I wanted to be one of those softer, girly girls. Then I grew out of that. I realized I’d never be a sweet girl. Never." She is the current spokeswoman for Caress and their new line of body wash called Exotic Oil Infusions She appeared on the cover of O at Home (homestyle magazine by Oprah Winfrey) and was credited as being their first covergirl for that magazine.

Bai Ling

October 10, 2008
Bai Ling
Born: 10-Oct-1970
Birthplace: Chengdu, China
Gender: Female
Race or Ethnicity: Asian
Sexual orientation: Bisexual
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: China
Executive summary: Anna and the King
Military service: People Liberation's Army (three years)
Father: (music teacher)
Mother: (stage actress)
Boyfriend: Chris Isaak (musician/singer)
Bai was born in Chengdu, China; "Bai", her surname, literally means "white". Ling, a common Chinese given name, means clever. Her father, Bai Yuxiang was a musician in the People's Liberation Army, and later a music teacher. Her mother, Chen Binbin was a dancer, stage actress, and a literature teacher in Sichuan University; Bai's maternal grandfather was a military officer of Kuomintang's army, and thus was persecuted during the Cultural Revolution. In early 1980s, Bai Ling's parents divorced, and both got remarried later. Her mother was remarried to the writer Xu Chi who got his national reputation by his report titled Goldbach's Conjecture, about Chinese mathematician Chen Jingrun. Bai Ling has one elder sister Bai Jie who works for a tax bureau in China, and a younger brother Bai Chen who emigrated to Japan and works for an American company.
Bai has described herself as a very shy child who found that she best expressed herself through acting and performing. She has since said that acting allows one to ignore how society tells one to behave and allows other parts within oneself to be expressed. During the Cultural Revolution (1966 - 1976), she learned how to perform by participating in Eight model plays shows in her elementary school. After her graduation of middle school, she was sent to do labor work at Shuangliu a suburb county of Chengdu, where the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is located.
Before long, she managed to pass the People's Liberation Army's exams, and became an "artist soldier" at Linzhi, Tibet. Her main activity there was to entertain with musical theater[citation needed]. She also served as a nurse for a while in the army. Three years later, she was discharged from the army, and joined People's Art Theater of Chengdu, and became a professional actress. Her performance in a stage play Yueqin and Little Tiger as a young man drew attention of movie director Teng Wenji (ëøÎÄæ÷), and gained her her first movie role in On The Beach £¨1985£©, as a village girl who becomes a factory worker and fights against her father's will for her to marry her cousin.
In later years, she appeared in several movies. However, her rebelliousness caused friction with authority. She was accused of insubordination for using tobacco and alcohol, was briefly hospitalized for depression by the end of her army service, and partook in the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989[citation needed]. She temporarily moved to New York in 1991 to attend New York University's film department as a visiting scholar, but later obtained a special visa that allowed her to remain in the United States until she became a citizen in 1999.
Acting career
Bai had previously appeared in several Chinese movies when she was in China. In 1984, Bai appeared as a fishing village girl in the movie On the Beach (º£Ì²). Later she filmed several other movies, including Suspended Sentence (»ºÆÚÖ´ÐÐ), Yueyue (ÔÂÔÂ), Tears in Suzhou (ÀáÈ÷¹ÃËÕ) without much attention. Her role as a girl with psychological disorder who had affair with her doctor gained her fame, in the movie Arc Light (»¡¹â) directed by director Zhang Junzhao (ÕžüîÈ). She attended Moscow Movie Festival in 1989 due to this role. When she was in China, her photographs had been used in magazines and calendars frequently, mostly with her whole shoulder and upper breasts exposed, which was not common in China at that time. Since coming to the United States in 1991, she has appeared in a number of American movies.
She began in the cult movie The Crow (1994), playing the half-sister/lover of the main villain, Top Dollar. It was her character that figures out the key to The Crow's power. Hu guang was her most celebrated role in the Chinese film industry, and Red Corner (1997) would be considered her break-out role in English film. She was named one of People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" in 1998. She appeared in Chris Isaak's music video "Please" in 1998. She shaved off her hair, which had exceeded a length of 36 in. (91.44 cm.) for her role in Anna and the King, and is widely known in Thailand as "Tubtim", her character's name from the film, even though the movie is officially banned because of its depiction of the King of Siam. She filmed scenes for Star Wars: Episode III (2005) as Senator Bana Breemu, but her role was cut during editing. She claimed that this was because of her posing nude for the June 2005 issue of Playboy magazine, whose appearance on newsstands coincided with the movie's May 2005 release, but director George Lucas denied this, stating that the cut had been made more than a year earlier. Her scenes were included in the "deleted scenes" feature of the DVD release.
Later in 2005 Bai was a castmate of the VH1 program called But Can They Sing?. The show gave several non-singer celebrities an attempt at singing on every episode and then allowed the audience and home viewers to vote off one contestant each week. Bai Ling was most famous for her risqu¨¦ and raunchy get-ups and her performances of Madonna's "Like a Virgin" and The Ramones' "I Wanna Be Sedated". Bai was eliminated just before the grand finale but was invited back on the final week for a special performance of Divinyls' I Touch Myself.
Bai was singled out for ridicule in an episode of The Showbiz Show with David Spade in late 2005. Spade noted that her high level of exposure in magazines and tabloids, frequently being photographed at movie premieres and parties, was not justified by the relatively minor roles she has been playing, and he implied that she was engaging in desperate self-promotion.
She has most recently appeared in the show Lost as part of Jack's flashbacks. Her character is Achara, who many believe to be associated with the Dharma Initiative. She has predictive powers, and is the artist of Jack's tattoo reading "He walks amongst us, but he is not one of us." Achara attests to predicting Jack's leadership role on the island. She is expected to be on for three episodes.
Personal life
In interviews with the New York Daily News and FHM, Bai has said she is bisexual. She has had many affairs with both men and women, in both China and the United States. Bai Ling is currently dating Philadelphia businessman and scientist Scott DeGirolamo. Bai lived in Singapore for the summer of 2006 and frequently patronised a now-defunct gay dance club called Happy (now renamed "Play"). She was apparently performing research for her upcoming film, an undisclosed film about the sex trade.
She is friends with Kimberly Stewart. She dated a play actor in the mid-1980s in China, and music composer Qu Xiao-Song in the mid 1990s, and Chris Isaak 1999-2001. She was briefly said to be romantically linked to Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. Rumors spread that Bai was engaged to him, but Carter denied the rumors, saying they were "just friends".
She incorrectly predicted that Donald Trump would get his hair shaved after the "Battle of the Billionaires" at World Wrestling Entertainment's WrestleMania 23, saying "It will be nice to see him bald".
Controversy
Many of the events in Bai's past have only been verified by Bai herself; her past in China is especially in doubt. No independent source besides Bai has verified her claims of her time spent in the Chinese army. The same is true of her time spent in New York as a visiting scholar, when her age would have made her a suspiciously young candidate for such an honor, especially given the paucity of her academic achievements. Finally, her participation in the Tiananmen Square protests would have been quite remarkable, given the fact that she attended the 1989 Moscow International Film Festival one month later as a member of an official Chinese movie group.
Bai once claimed publicly that she was engaged to Nick Carter, but Carter immediately denied it and the two have never married. She has further claimed that she was "cut out" of Star Wars due to her appearance in Playboy magazine while also insinuating a large role for her character; George Lucas denied this, citing the facts that the edit had been done months before the Playboy appearance was known and stating that Bai's role was only a few lines of unimportant dialogue. Additionally, Go Fug Yourself has documented Bai numerous times appearing publicly in revealing outfits that happen to "slip" and show her nipples in pictures, despite the fact that she was attending as a guest at events with no overt sexual content.

Hargitay is the fourth of five children born to Jayne Mansfield (an actress and sex symbol of the 1950s and 1960s). She was born at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California. Her first and middle names are Hungarian and refer to Mary Magdalene (Mariska is a diminutive of Maria and therefore Mary). Her family name has Hungarian references too. It means: "of Hargita" (Hargita is a Romanian province with a Hungarian minority population). She has two half-sisters, Jayne Marie Mansfield and Tina Hargitay; two brothers, Miklós and Zoltan Hargitay; and a half-brother, Antonio Ottaviano (a.k.a. Tony Cimber), a former film director whose works include the female wrestling show G.L.O.W.
Hargitay's mother had divorced Hungarian-born former Mr. Universe Mickey Hargitay, in May 1963, but a judge later found their Mexican divorce invalid. They had reconciled a few months before Mariska's birth in January 1964 but soon separated again; and in August 1964, the Mexican divorce was ruled legal. A few weeks later, Mansfield married the director Matt Cimber, who had directed her in a 1964 production of the William Inge play Bus Stop.
On June 29, 1967, Jayne Mansfield was killed in an automobile accident on a stretch of U.S. Highway 90 between New Orleans and Slidell, Louisiana. Jayne's boyfriend Sam Brody and the driver were also killed. Asleep in the back of the car, Mariska, then three-and-a-half years old, was left with a zig-zag scar on one side of her head. Mariska's brothers Miklós and Zoltan were also in the car, but they escaped with minor injuries. After the death of their mother, the three siblings were raised by Mickey Hargitay and his third wife, Ellen Siano.
Mariska Hargitay was active in the theater program of her secondary school Marymount High School; she graduated in 1987 from the UCLA School of Theater Film and Television with a major in theatre.

In 1983, a year after she was crowned Miss Beverly Hills, Hargitay made her screen debut with a small role in Star 80, a Mariel Hemingway feature film about the murdered Playboy centerfold Dorothy Stratten. Within a few years she had landed recurring roles in the television series Downtown and Falcon Crest, in which she played the character Carly Fixx. She was police officer Angela Garcia in the 1992 series Tequila & Bonetti and appeared in an episode of the fourth season of Seinfeld. Two years later, she portrayed Didi Edelstein, the sexy next-door neighbor, in the 1995 sitcom Can't Hurry Love, which starred Nancy McKeon. In 1997, Hargitay was detective Nina Echeverria on the dramatic series Prince Street, and she had a recurring role as Cynthia Hooper during the fourth season of ER.
Hargitay has appeared on numerous other television programs, including Freddy's Nightmares, Ellen, All-American Girl, Baywatch, Cracker, Gabriel's Fire, In the Heat of the Night, JoJo's Circus, The Single Guy, Wiseguy, and thirtysomething. Since 1999, Hargitay has portrayed Det. Olivia Benson, the female lead on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. “As a woman, it’s gratifying to play such a multilayered part," the actress stated on her official website. "Olivia is not only a competent, street-smart cop, she’s also an empathetic woman who can respond emotionally to victims of terrible crimes without compromising her professionalism.”
Awards
In the 1999 first season of SVU, Hargitay earned nominations from the Viewers for Quality Television for Best Actress, from the TV Guide Awards for Favorite Actress in a New Series, and from the International Press Academy for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama Series. She took up competitive figure skating at the age of four and acting at age thirteen at a summer theater camp in London, Ontario named Original Kids. When the company extended to a year-round company, she was invited to continue with them. She attended the publicly-funded secondary school Central Elgin Collegiate Institute in St. Thomas from grade nine to OAC and starred in the Gay-Award-winning student production I Live in a Little Town. Later she graduated from York University in Toronto with Honours and a BFA degree in Theatre. During her senior year at York, she played a child in The Piper – a workshop led by a creative team from Toronto's Necessary Angel Theatre Company. She also attended Original Kids Theatre Company in London, Ontario, as well as David Rotenberg's on-camera acting class in Toronto with fellow actors Scott Speedman, Kenneth Mitchell, Polly Shannon and David Sutcliffe.
Career
Rachel McAdams had a large role in the film The Hot Chick, alongside Rob Schneider, but her career really took off when she starred as Regina George, the "queen-bee" in 2004's Mean Girls. McAdams was told to partly model the character of Regina George after Alec Baldwin's performance in Glengarry Glen Ross (1992). McAdams had previously appeared in the Canadian television series Slings and Arrows, alongside Paul Gross. She played a main role in the first season, but due to her rising stardom was written out of the second season, appearing in only the first episode. She followed Mean Girls with the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' novel The Notebook, alongside Ryan Gosling, with whom she would later begin an off-screen romance. They broke up in 2007.
In 2005, she played Owen Wilson's love interest in Wedding Crashers and then starred in the suspense thriller Red Eye as Lisa Reisert. She played a young woman held captive aboard a red-eye flight by criminal-for-hire and assassin Jackson Rippner (Cillian Murphy). White and Claire Danes. McAdams auditioned for the role of "Sue Storm" in Fantastic Four (film), and she almost got it, but lost out to Jessica Alba at the last minute.
Rachel's career slowed down in 2006. She was originally signed on as the female lead in The Last Kiss but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts, and the role was given to Jacinda Barrett. She decided to take a year off from acting, to spend time with friends and family. McAdams then signed on to star in the drama Married Life (film) across Pierce Brosnan and Patricia Clarkson. She turned down the role of bond girl "Vesper Lynd" in the James Bond film Casino Royale. McAdams was also in-talks to star in Iron Man and The Dark Knight, but she declined both roles. She stated in an interview sometime in May 2006 that she didn't want to star in a big-budget action film because she wanted to pursue other projects.
Despite having appeared nude or topless in a few of her movie scenes, McAdams opted out of a cover shoot for Vanity Fair — in which she was to appear alongside two other young Hollywood actresses, Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley — upon finding out it was to be nude. Tom Ford, artistic director for the cover, instead appeared with them. When McAdams appeared on set and discovered it was nude, she politely declined, according to Knightley.
She is currently in final-negotiations to join Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Helen Mirren, in the drama State of Play, which will start filming during the first week of November. McAdams is going to film both movies back-to-back.
McAdams currently lives in Toronto, Ontario Canada.

For the first two years of her life she lived at Ickworth House, the family seat in Suffolk, before her parents went into tax exile in Monaco. Silverstone won a leading part in the 1993 film The Crush, playing a girl who sets out to ruin an older man after her teenage crush is spurned; she won two awards at the 1994 MTV Movie Awards for the role for Best Breakthrough Performance and Best Villain. Silverstone became legally emancipated at the age of fifteen in order to work the hours required for the shooting schedule of the film. After seeing her in The Crush, Marty Callner decided she'd be perfect for a role in a music video he was directing for the band Aerosmith, called "Cryin", and then the following two videos "Amazing" and "Crazy". These were hugely successful both for the band and Silverstone, making her a household name (and also gaining her the nickname, "the Aerosmith chick"). They also got her noticed by film maker Amy Heckerling, who after seeing them decided to cast her in Clueless.
Clueless, became a sleeper hit and critical darling during the summer of 1995. Silverstone's performance was well received, and she was branded the spokeswoman for an emerging young generation. As a result, she signed a deal with Columbia-TriStar worth $10 million. As part of the package, she got a three-year first-look deal for her own production company, First Kiss Productions. Silverstone also won "Best Female Performance" and "Most Desirable Female" by the MTV Movie Awards in 1996 for her performance in the film.
Silverstone's next role was as Batgirl in Batman & Robin, which was neither a critical nor a financial success. Silverstone won a Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actress. She suffered further bad press for allegedly striking a pedestrian with her vehicle in a crosswalk. She also starred in 1997's dark comedy Excess Baggage, which was the first movie to be released by First Kiss Productions. In the film, Silverstone played a chain smoking, underage drinking, rich brat who fakes her own kidnapping in order to get her father's attention. The film was not as critically or commercially embraced as Clueless After just one film, Columbia-TriStar let their production deal with Silverstone expire.
2000s
Silverstone appeared in Kenneth Branagh's film adaptation of the Shakespeare play Love's Labour's Lost in 2000, in which she was required to sing and dance.
In 2001, Silverstone provided the voice of Sharon Spitz, the lead character in the Canadian animated television Braceface.
After removing herself from the public eye for a few years, she resurfaced in the 2003 NBC television show Miss Match, which was then cancelled after thirteen episodes. Silverstone's long hiatus was referred to in the pilot episode of the television series Get Real, as an exasperated Kenny remarked, "Why can't I fall off the face of the earth, like Alicia Silverstone?"
Silverstone later acknowledged that she hates the trappings of fame, insisting that being a celebrity is a horrific ordeal that she wouldn't want her worst enemy to suffer. According to Silverstone, "Fame is not anything I wish on anyone. You start acting because you love it. Then success arrives, and suddenly you're on show."
After the cancellation of Miss Match in 2003, she did a pilot with FOX called Queen B, in which she would have played a former high school prom queen named Beatrice (Bea), who has found out that the real world is nothing like high school.
In 2005, she co-starred with Queen Latifah in Beauty Shop, a spin-off of the BarberShop films. She played one of the stylists in the beauty shop.
For the pilot season of 2006-2007, she surfaced on a pilot being developed by ABC called Pink Collar, in which she would have worked in a law firm.
Silverstone's most recent movie, Stormbreaker, was released in the UK on July 21, 2006, and in North America on October 13, 2006. Silverstone filmed the role of Jack Starbright (Alex Rider's housekeeper and guardian) in the summer of 2005, several days after her wedding. She took the role because the opportunity to work with co-stars Ewan McGregor and Sophie Okonedo, both of whom she has said she admires.
In November 2006, she starred in the television movie Candles on Bay Street for Hallmark Hall of Fame, based on the book by Cathie Pelletier under the pseudonym of K.C. Mikinnon.
Personal life
Silverstone married longtime boyfriend, rock musician Christopher Jarecki, in a beachfront ceremony at Lake Tahoe on June 11, 2005. The couple had dated for eight years prior to being married, after meeting outside a movie theater in 1997. They got engaged about a year before their marriage and Silverstone's engagement ring belonged to Jarecki's grandmother. They live in an eco-friendly Los Angeles house complete with solar panels and an organic vegetable garden. She bought the house, shared with a "menagerie of rescued dogs," in 1996. Silverstone drives a Mercedes Benz.
Political beliefs
Silverstone has strong political opinions and is noted for being an animal welfare and environmental activist. She also became a vegan in 1998 after attending an animal rights meeting. "I realized that I was the problem," she told InStyle Home in spring 2007. "I was an animal lover who was eating animals." In 2004, Silverstone was voted "Sexiest Female Vegetarian" by PETA.
Records also reveal that Silverstone contributed $500 to Dennis Kucinich's 2004 Presidential campaign.
On May 23, 2007, Silverstone was a guest on ABC's The View. Moments before she entered, hosts Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck had a heated argument regarding the Iraq war. The video segment shows Silverstone entering and walking past Hasselbeck to greet the other hosts. Though the interview continued normally and featured easy conversation between Silverstone and Hasselbeck, Access Hollywood deemed the act a deliberate snub.

Chubby Checker

AKA Ernest Evans

Born: 3-Oct-1941
Birthplace: Andrews, SC
Gender: Male
Race or Ethnicity: Black
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Singer
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: The Twist
Wife: Catherina Lodders (Miss World 1962, Dutch, m. 12-Apr-1964, three children)
Chubby Checker (born Ernest Evans on October 3, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter best known for popularizing the The Twist with his 1960 hit cover of Hank Ballard's R&B hit "The Twist". In September 2008, "The Twist" topped Billboard's list of the most popular singles to have appeared in the Hot 100 since its debut in 1958.
Early life
Ernest Evans was born in Spring Gulley, South Carolina and as a child was raised in the projects of South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he lived with his parents and two brothers. By the age of eight Evans had formed a street corner harmony group and, by the time he entered high school, had learned to play the piano as well as entertain his classmates by performing vocal impressions of popular entertainers of the day, such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley & Fats Domino. One of his classmates and friends at South Philadelphia High School was Fabiano Forte, who would become a popular singer of the late 1950s & early 1960s as Fabian.
After school, Ernest would entertain customers at his various jobs, including Fresh Farm Poultry on 9th Street and at the Produce Market, with songs and jokes, and it was his boss at the Produce Market, Tony A., who gave Ernest the nickname "Chubby". The storeowner of Fresh Farm Poultry, Henry Colt, was so impressed by Ernest's performances for the customers that he, with his colleague & friend Karl Mann, who worked as a song-writer for Cameo-Parkway Records, arranged for young Chubby to do a private recording for American Bandstand host Dick Clark. It was at this recording session that Evans got his stage name from Clark's wife, who asked Ernest what his name was. "Well", he replied, "my friends call me 'Chubby'". As he had just completed a Fats Domino impression, she smiled and said, "As in Checker?" That little play on words got an instant laugh and stuck, and from then on, Ernest Evans would use the name "Chubby Checker".
Career
Checker privately recorded a novelty single for Clark in which the singer portrayed a school teacher with an unruly classroom of musical performers. The premise allowed Checker to imitate such acts as Fats Domino, Frankie Avalon and The Chipmunks, each singing "Mary Had a Little Lamb." Clark sent the song out as his Christmas greeting, and it received such good response that Cameo-Parkway signed Checker to a recording contract. Titled "The Class," the single became Checker's first release, charting at #38 in the spring of 1959.
Checker introduced his version of "The Twist" in July 1960 on The Clay Cole Show, a local New York City television program broadcast live from Palisades Amusement Park. "The Twist" went on to become the only single to top the Billboard Hot 100 twice, in two separate chart runs. (Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" had done so on Billboard's earlier chart.)
"The Twist" had previously peaked at #16 on the Billboard rhythm and blues chart, in the 1959 version recorded by its author, Hank Ballard, whose band The Midnighters first performed the dance on stage. Checker's "Twist," however, was a nationwide smash. The song was so ubiquitous that Checker felt critics of his thought he could only succeed with dance records typecasting him as a dance artist. Checker later lamented:
"...in a way, "The Twist" really ruined my life. I was on my way to becoming a big nightclub performer, and "The Twist" just wiped it out.. It got so out of proportion. No one ever believes I have talent."
Chubby Checker
Despite Checker's initial disapproval, he found follow-up success with a succession of up-tempo dance tracks and produced a series of successful dance-related singles, including "The Hucklebuck" (#14), "The Fly" (#7), "Dance the Mess Around" (#24), and "Pony Time", which became his second #1 single. Checker's follow-up "twist" single, "Let's Twist Again (Like We Did Last Summer)", won the 1961 Grammy Award for Best Rock & Roll Solo Vocal Performance. A 1962 duet with Dee Dee Sharp, "Slow Twistin'", reached #3 on the national charts. "Limbo Rock" reached #2 in the fall of 1962, becoming Checker's last Top Ten hit.
Checker is the only recording artist to place five albums in the Top 12 all at once. The performer has often claimed to have personally changed the way we dance to the beat of music, as when he told Billboard, "Anyplace on the planet, when someone has a song that has a beat, they're on the floor dancing apart to the beat. And before Chubby Checker, it wasn't here." Clay Cole agreed: "Chubby Checker has never been properly acknowledged for one major contribution to pop culture – Chubby and the Twist got adults out and onto the dance floor for the very first time. Before the Twist dance phenomenon, grownups did not dance to teenage music."
In 1964, he married the Dutch Catharina Lodders, who was Miss World in 1962. Checker continued to have Top 40 singles until 1965, but changes in public taste ended his hit-making career. He spent much of the rest of the 1960s touring and recording in Europe. The 1970s saw him become a staple on the oldies circuit, including a temporary stint as a disco artist.
Later years
His material during his 1960s heyday was recorded for Cameo-Parkway Records and along with the label's other material, became unavailable after the early 1970s because of the company's internal legal disputes. For decades, almost all compilations of Checker's hits consisted of re-recordings. A dance-floor cover version of The Beatles "Back in the USSR" was released in 1969 on Buddah Records, but only charted at #82. It was Checker's last chart appearance until 1982.
He also recorded a psychedelic album in the early '70s that was initially only released in Germany. The original release had no album name, but said, "Chubby Checker Goes Psychedelic," on the back cover so that was taken to be the title.
Despite his mixed feelings towards his biggest hit single, Checker has always been able to capitalize on its enduring popularity. In 1987, he recorded a new version of "The Twist" with rap trio The Fat Boys. The lyrics to this new version implied he was pleased with his association with it. Checker also sang the song in a commercial for Oreo cookies in the early 1990s. In 2008, he performed "The Twist" in venues ranging from the Daytona 500 to "The Opie and Anthony Show".
In 2008 Chubby Checker's "The Twist" was named the biggest chart hit of all time by Billboard magazine. Billboard looked at all singles that made the charts between 1958 and 2008.
Checker had a #1 single on Billboard's dance chart in July 2008 with Knock Down the Walls. He also owns his own restaurant, and continues to perform on a regular basis.

Neve Adrianne Campbell (born October 3, 1973) is a Canadian actress. Beginning her career on stage, she came to fame on the 1990s television series Party of Five, and subsequently appeared in leading roles in several Hollywood films, including Scream, The Craft and Wild Things. She has since appeared in smaller parts and returned to stage roles.
Biography
Early life
Campbell was born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Campbell's mother, Marnie (née Neve), is a yoga instructor and psychologist from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her father, Gerry Campbell, an immigrant to Canada from Glasgow, Scotland, taught high school drama classes in Mississauga, Ontario—first at Westwood Secondary School (Now Lincoln Alexander Secondary School) and later at Lorne Park Secondary School. Campbell's maternal grandparents ran a theatre company in the Netherlands and her paternal grandparents were also performers. Campbell is Catholic, but also identifies as Jewish because of her mother's Sephardic Jewish ancestry, specifying that her "lineage is Jewish, so if someone asks me if I'm Jewish, I say yes". Her first name means "snow" in Italian and Portuguese; and "oasis" in Hebrew.
Campbell's parents divorced when she was two years old. She and brother Christian Campbell resided largely with their father, with regular periods at their mother's home, until Neve moved into residence at the National Ballet of Canada at age nine. She trained at the National Ballet School of Canada at the age of nine, and appeared in performances of The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty. Campbell moved from dancing into acting at the age of fifteen, performing The Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages Theatre in Toronto. Her original goal was to make it professionally as a ballerina, but accumulating injuries (shin splints, fallen arches, cracked ribs, a bunion removed from her big toe, snapping hip syndrome, tendonitis, bursitis, etc. and the final straw was her hair began falling out due to advanced stress, leading to acupuncture to rectify the problem), she finally left dance in favor of a full-time acting career. She attended Earl Haig Secondary School in Toronto, Ontario.
Career
Her first starring role was playing Daisy on the Canadian youth TV series Catwalk from 1992 to 1994. She rose to wider fame outside of Canada after being cast as Julia Salinger in the drama series Party of Five, in which she starred from 1994 to 2000.
Although Campbell's first widely released film was 1996's The Craft, she reached the height of her success to date when she appeared in the successful Scream horror film trilogy, followed by Wild Things, and Three to Tango. She was on People's "50 Most Beautiful People" list in 1998.
Following the end of the Scream series, Campbell's career became more low-key, and she appeared in several films that received a limited theatrical release, but were well reviewed by critics, including the 2000 film Panic, in which she starred alongside William H. Macy and Donald Sutherland, and the 2003 film The Company, about Chicago's Joffrey Ballet. Campbell co-wrote, produced, and starred in the film. Despite pre-release publicity suggesting otherwise, Campbell did not break her tradition of having a "no-nudity" clause in her contract for the film. She did break the clause for When Will I Be Loved, released in 2004, a film which was praised by critic Roger Ebert, but which received only a brief and limited theatrical release.
In March 2006, Campbell made her West End theatre debut, in a version of Arthur Miller's Resurrection Blues at the Old Vic theatre. The play, which received mixed reviews, co-stars Matthew Modine and Maximilian Schell, and was directed by Robert Altman, with whom Campbell has previously worked with in The Company. She performed again at the West End later in 2006 as part of Love Song, starring alongside Cillian Murphy, Michael McKean, and Kristen Johnston, to mixed reviews.
On July 7, 2007, Campbell presented at the UK leg of Live Earth at Wembley Stadium, London.
Personal life
Campbell married Canadian actor Jeffrey Colt on April 3, 1995; they divorced on May 8, 1998. She has also dated actors John Cusack, Matthew Lillard, and Pat Mastroianni. Campbell appears in campaign literature and videos for the Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada and the Tourette Syndrome Association, (a similar organisation in the United States). Her younger half-brother, Damian McDonald, has Tourette syndrome. She also has an elder brother, Christian Campbell, and another brother, Alex, both of whom are actors.
In 2005, Campbell began dating John Light, an English actor who she met while filming the movie Investigating Sex. The couple became engaged in December 2005 and live in London, England. When Light proposed, he got down on one knee and recited Shakespeare to Campbell. They married in Malibu on May 5, 2007 Her father, Gerry Campbell "gave away" the bride.

Tiffany

Tiffany
AKA Tiffany Renee Darwish

Born: 2-Oct-1971
Birthplace: Norwalk, CA
Gender: Female
Religion: Protestant
Race or Ethnicity: Middle Eastern
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Singer
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Teen singing sensation
Father: Jim (sep. 1972)

Father: Dan Williams (stepfather, m. 1977, div. 1984)
Sister: Falicia Williams (half sister, b. 1979)

Son: Elijah Bulmaro (17-Sep-1992)
Husband: Ben George (m. 4-Aug-2004)
Tiffany was born in Norwalk, California to parents James Robert Darwish (of part Syrian and English descent) and Janie Wilson (of mostly Irish and some distant Cherokee descent). Her parents divorced when she was very young. When Tiffany was four years old, she learned the words to the song Delta Dawn, and she started singing it often.
Early singing career
In 1981, Tiffany made her first professional singing show, with a country music band at a country and western spot. She passed a hat along the crowd afterward, and collected US $235 in what would be her first career earnings.
Tiffany was singing at a Los Angeles club named El Palomino when she was discovered by Hoyt Axton and his mother Mae Axton. Mae took her to sing in Nashville, Tennessee, where she performed at the Ralph Emery Show, singing Juice Newton's "Queen of Hearts" and Tammy Wynette's "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad". In 1982 Tiffany toured several cities in Alaska, earning US$3000 for the tour. Also that year, she performed on the same bill as Jerry Lee Lewis and George Jones. At that time she was managed by George Tobin. In 1983, Ronald Kent Surut became her manager.
Recording contract and fame
Finally, in 1984, she was signed to a recording contract by George Tobin, who heard a demo tape she recorded and liked it.
In 1985, Tiffany appeared on Star Search with Ed McMahon, but she came in second place that year.
In 1986, she signed a contract that gave Tobin total control over her career. Then, she went into the studio to record her first album, and a contract was signed with MCA. Tiffany's eponymous album, Tiffany, was released in 1987, and she promoted it by touring shopping malls across America (the originality of this approach at that time earned substantial coverage on its own and a decade later would inspire Britney Spears' similar Hair Zone Mall Tour). Her cover of the Tommy James & the Shondells hit, "I Think We're Alone Now", became a number one smash hit on the Billboard chart, propelling Tiffany to international stardom.
Soon, she was vying with fellow pop star Debbie Gibson for space on the covers of teen magazines, including Tiger Beat, Teen Beat, as well as on television shows on MTV, Fox, etc. Her ballad "Could've Been" also shot to the #1 spot of the Billboard charts in February 1988. Her modified cover of "I Saw Him Standing There" and "Feelings of Forever" also saw chart success from the over 4.1 million selling debut. Tiffany also set a record for the youngest female artist to top the Billboard charts with a debut album. Later that year, she cast the then-unknown singing group New Kids on the Block as the opening act for her concert tour.
Family turmoil
In 1988, at the peak of her popularity, Tiffany ended up in the middle of a conflict between her manager (George Tobin) and her mother and stepfather over control of her career and earnings. This led to a court fight which included an attempt by Tiffany to have herself declared an emancipated minor. This was rejected by the court, but her grandmother became her temporary guardian. Unfortunately, the legal battles took a toll on the singer's career.
Career stall
In late 1988, she released her second album, Hold An Old Friend's Hand. It did not do as well as her first album. It did not feature any number one hits, although the song "All This Time" made the top ten. Hold An Old Friend's Hand received mixed reviews from critics but eventually went double-platinum. Later that year, she signed on to provide the voice of Judy Jetson for Jetsons: The Movie, which was ultimately released in 1990 after delays; she contributed 3 songs to the soundtrack including the single I Always Thought I'd See You Again.
Shortly after her 18th birthday in 1989, Tiffany bought a mansion that used to belong to action movie star Chuck Norris. She also left Tobin's management and signed with Dick Scott, who managed New Kids on the Block, by then a very successful teen pop group.
Her career suffered as musical tastes changed in the early 1990s, swinging away from Dance-pop, towards harder-edged rock and rap. This was shown in her third album, the Urban influenced New Inside. It was her first album away from Tobin, and some of her fans felt the new soulful, sultrier Tiffany was a hard sell. New Inside received good reviews from critics, but failed to make the charts at all, although she made several TV appearances to promote it including on the sitcom Out of This World. Tiffany never regained her "Teen Queen" popularity.
In 1991, she took part in the recording of the song "Voices That Care" which peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Marriage and comeback attempts
In 1992, she married make-up artist Bulmaro Garcia and gave birth to her son, Elijah Garcia, on September 17th of the same year.
During a brief early-1990s comeback attempt, she got back together with Tobin, released the album Dreams Never Die in Asia (but not in the United States), and did some performances at the Las Vegas Hilton in the summer of 1993, before breaking with Tobin again.
In 1995, she moved to Nashville to attempt a country music career, but never released any music of that genre.
Her "comeback" album, The Color of Silence, was released in 2000 and received stellar reviews. Billboard pegged it as "one of the best pop albums of the year" and the year's "biggest surprise". Despite the critical validation - and a record-breaking turnout for her college campus tour - a record deal with a shady, now defunct company and the teen-pop "stigma" attached to her name hindered the album's potential success.
In 2004, she was the subject of an E! True Hollywood Story television show. She also had a greatest hits album released in Singapore and three in Japan. At the age of 30, she appeared in a nude photo spread for Playboy magazine.
Having divorced her first husband on August 1, 2004, she married a British man named Benn George, and she has been dividing her time between Cannock (a small town in Staffordshire, England) and Los Angeles.
Back in public eye
On April 2, 2005, Tiffany was featured in British TV show Hit Me Baby One More Time, winning the first heat and subsequently securing a place in the show's finale. She also appeared on the U.S. version of the show on June 2, 2005, but lost to hip-hop group Arrested Development. Both versions of the show aim to bring former pop stars back into the limelight. Tiffany performed the Girls Aloud song "Love Machine" on the UK version of the show. In 2006, Girls Aloud returned the favor by covering Tiffany's best known song "I Think We're Alone Now" on their greatest hits album The Sound of Girls Aloud.
In May 2005, Tiffany released the album, Dust Off And Dance, independently through CDBaby (and later for download on iTunes ). It was dedicated to her new husband, but recorded as a "Thank You" to her fans (particularly her gay and European fanbase) for reminding her about the fun to be had with her career, and it serves as a reminder of a lighter time when she could lose herself on the dance floor. The album consists of Eurodance and Hi-NRG style songs. The singles from Dust Off And Dance such as "Ride It", "Fly", "Be With U Tonite", "Na Na Na" and "Artificial Girlfriend" all charted on listener sponsored radio stations that also stream online such as WMPH and C895Worldwide. Both radio stations are Rhythmic/Dance format stations. A few of the singles made the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.
She toured with the album, working her way back into the public eye from the ground up. It paid off; in September 2006 the album was nominated for six JPF awards. She won for best dance song of the year for "Be With U Tonite" and best dance CD of the year on November 4. She was mentioned several times (along with fellow pop diva Deborah Gibson) in the film, Music and Lyrics.
In 2007, Tiffany was also one of the contestants on the fifth season of the TV show Celebrity Fit Club, going from 152 lbs to 124 (a loss of 28 lbs).
In recent years, she has performed frequently at gay pride events; although she is heterosexual, she is a supporter of gay rights.
New record contract
Tiffany signed a record deal with 10 Spot Records, a new division of Water Music Records Group, which is distributed by Universal Music Group. She released a new album on June 5th, 2007, titled Just Me
Tiffany has also re-recorded an updated version of "I Think We're Alone Now" for a new album of cover material released by Cleopatra Records in early April 2007, I Think We're Alone Now: '80s Hits and More . The album carrying a less than flattering picture of Tiffany from her 1980's glory days contains several updated versions of songs from her debut album, and also features her take on songs like "Voices Carry", "Kids In America", "Venus" and more.
The new album will contain all new material in a singer/songwriter format a la The Color of Silence. It includes a studio recording of "Winter's Over." The first single from the album, "Feels Like Love" was released on May 1, 2007. On April 15th, 2007, Tiffany filmed a music video for "Feels Like Love" in Los Angeles.
In early August 2007, the dance single "Higher," not featured on the album, began showing up online. On October 2, 2007 (Tiffany's 36th birthday), it made the Billboard "Hot Dance Club Play" chart at #45, her first Billboard chart appearance since 1989.
