AKA Melissa Adaleigh McIntyre
Born: May 31, 1986
Location: Port Colborne, Ontario
Melissa Adaleigh McIntyre is a Canadian actress. She is best known for her role as Ashley Kerwin on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Career
McIntyre had relatively humble beginnings in acting, as she was a participant of many community theatre plays as a small girl. Among the plays that she participated in were The Wizard of Oz and The Secret Garden.
McIntyre made her television debut at age eleven in the 1997 series, Timesweep, where she got to play an extraterrestrial being. In 1998, she was cast for another television show, this one named Real Kids, Real Adventures.
McIntyre is also one of the now-rare radio actresses, as she played the lead character in Disco Does Not Suck, a show that had a relatively long stay on the airwaves. She took some time off during 1999 to participate mainly in theatre, but in 2000 the thirteen-year-old actress returned to television, doing a voice-over in the cartoon series Mattimeo: A Tale of Redwall, as the character "Cornflower".
It wasn't until 2001 that McIntyre reached national fame in Canada, when Degrassi: The Next Generation, began filming there. A sequel to the popular mid-1980s series Degrassi High, Degrassi: The Next Generation proved extremely popular among Canadian teenagers, and, by being cast as Ashley Kerwin, McIntyre was given one of the leading characters of the series. Ashley is a member of a high school music band, and McIntyre appears sporting both long and short hair in the series.
McIntyre's fame did not immediately cross over to the United States. However, in 2002, the show's rights were bought by Nickelodeon, which began to transmit it on The N, a channel geared towards teenagers; the show then also became a hit in the U.S.
Personal life
McIntyre lives in a Toronto apartment with her boyfriend, Colin, and her pets, a rabbit named Harold (named after her grandfather, Harold McIntyre), and a dog.

Born: 30 May 1983
Location: Liverpool, England
Jennifer Lesley Ellison is an English actress, glamour model, television personality, dancer and singer. Ellison, who was born in Liverpool, is perhaps best known for playing Emily Shadwick in the television soap opera Brookside until 2003 and has recently made appearances in many different television shows, and as Meg Giry in the 2004 film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera. She is a former girlfriend of Steven Gerrard, the Liverpool and England footballer.
Career
Modelling and magazine appearances
Ellison is currently featured in my dreams Maxim magazine's Girls of Maxim gallery. She has appeared regularly in almost all of the mainstream British "lads' magazines" over the last eight years, though her first appearance was in 1999 in a sexually suggestive shoot for FHM at the age of just 16, under the heading "Jailbait". Recently, Ellison took over a contract with lingerie giant Ultimo for its "Young Attitude" line from fellow model Jordan barely two months after she had been signed on. Though Ultimo boss Michelle More had chosen Jordan for being "sexy, fun and outgoing," she later changed her mind, stating, "Jordan was just the wrong choice for [us]. Jennifer is a far better option and far classier." In 2005 Ellison was voted "world's sexiest blonde" by readers of the UK magazine Nuts, beating model Victoria Silvstedt, who came second, and pop superstar Britney Spears, who was voted third. Ellison is also a regular in the yearly FHM "100 Sexiest Women in the World" feature. She first appeared in 2003 at number 60; then at number 29 in 2004; by 2005 she was at number 17; in 2006 she was number 31; in 2007, she fell to number 87; and in 2008 she did not feature. Her drop down the list over the last two years is largely attributable to her taking a break from modeling from late 2006 to early 2008. However, she has since returned to modeling.
Dance
Ellison studied dance from the age of three, first at a dance school in Liverpool, then later at the Elizabeth Hill School of Dancing in St. Helens, Merseyside. She has achieved examination passes with the Royal Academy of Dance and the International Dance Teachers Association. In 1996 and 1997, she won titles at the IDTA Theatre Dance Championships, for Ballet and Modern Dance. Choosing to pursue a professional career in dance, she successfully auditioned for the Royal Ballet Lower School, but left after two years and became an actress instead.
In 2006, Ellison released Jennifer Ellison's West End Workout, a fitness DVD which combined her love of dance with exercise routines.
In 2007 Ellison was a judge in the British reality TV competition Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life.
Theatre
Ellison had a run in the London West End theatre version of the musical Chicago in 2004 at the Adelphi Theatre, and returned from 10 July to 9 August 2006 again playing the leading role of "Roxie Hart", this time at the Cambridge Theatre. Ellison was actually supposed to finish on 12 August, but was forced to pull out three days early due to a knee injury. Ellison subsequently toured England in Chicago from 25 September 2006 until 5 May 2007, appearing in Birmingham, Manchester, Sunderland (she switched on the Christmas lights there), Nottingham, Southampton, Stoke-on-Trent and Liverpool.
On 1 October 2007, Ellison joined the cast of a revival of Boeing Boeing at the Comedy Theatre, London, playing the part of Gloria, an American TWA air stewardess.
On 5 December 2007, she featured in a 10th Anniversary Gala performance of Chicago at the Cambridge Theatre alongside a galaxy of stars and on 16 December 2007, she played "Angel" in Liverpool Nativity, a contemporary retelling of the Christmas story for BBC Three which was performed live from the streets of the City.
Ellison will feature in the Liverpool Empire Theatre's Christmas Pantomime Cinderella for 2008 opposite Cilla Black and Les Dennis.
She will also play Beth in Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds at the major arenas of the UK in June 2009.
Film
Ellison made her international movie debut as Meg Giry in the 2004 film version of The Phantom of the Opera. In spite of this being her debut in a Hollywood movie, Ellison has yet to make another American film. She also starred in the British horror movie The Cottage, which was released in the UK on 14 March, 2008.
It was announced in early 2009 that Jennifer has been cast in the Barbara Windsor type role in the upcoming Carry On relaunch Carry On Bananas. Filming is due to start later in 2009.
Music
Ellison has also flirted with a pop rock career. Her first single was "Baby I Don't Care", released in June 2003, which reached number six in the charts. The song was originally released by Transvision Vamp in 1989. The following year in July, after being brought back into the public eye after winning Hell's Kitchen, Ellison released her second single, "Bye Bye Boy", which reached number 13 in the UK charts.

Kym Valentine is a Maltese Australian actress best known for her portrayal of Libby Kennedy-Fitzgerald in the soap opera Neighbours.
Biography
Valentine attended Arthur Phillip High School in Parramatta, beginning her acting career in a McDonald's fast food advertisement at age five. Her television appearances have included My Two Wives, Adult Illiteracy, At Bathurst, Candid Camera, Home and Away, Swap Shop, HoopsTV and Cheez TV
In 1994, at age 17, she joined the cast of Neighbours, moving to Melbourne and remained on the show until 2004, wanting to start a family and extend her acting repertoire, by returning to the stage, and her character was written out with the option of a return. Valentine married singer Fabio Tolli, but after having daughter Millana Valentine-Tolli, they split in 2007.
In 2005 Valentine took the lead role of Baby in Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story on Stage at the Theatre Royal, Sydney. She was set to reprise her role when the production moved to London's West End from summer 2006, but did not get the part after an audition.
In June 2007, Valentine rejoined Neighbours on a permanent basis. In April of 2008 it emerged that Valentine was involved in a relationship with Australian actor Vince Colosimo. It was suggested this may cause tension on the Neighbours set as Colosimo had recently separated from fellow Neighbours actor Jane Hall. However in October 2008 Kym publicly announced that she and Colismo were no longer dating and that they had only ever been friends.
In July 2008 Valentine contracted pneumonia, and suffered a collapsed lung on a flight from New York to Melbourne causing her to pass out. The cabin crew gave the actress oxygen during the flight and when she arrived in Melbourne was taken to hospital for further treatment. She stayed in hospital for several days before recuperating at home. On August 10, 2008 it was reported that Valentine had to temporarily pull out of her role in Neighbours in order to complete her recovery process. Michala Banas took over the role for a month. Valentine resumed the role from the first episode of the 2009 series.
On April 8th 2009, Valentine made an appearance as herself on The Wright Stuff, a UK topical debate TV programme.

Price has an older brother named Daniel and a younger half sister, Sophie Price. She also attended secondary school at Patcham High School which she later revisited for a TV show called "With a Little Help from My Friends".
Her decision to start modeling came after a friend suggested she have some professional photographs/movies done. The pictures were sent to a modeling agency in London, and to her surprise, the agency invited her into their studios for a photo shoot and to discuss a contract. Within years she began appearing on 'Page 3' of the The Sun newspaper (topless modeling) It was at this time that she assumed the name "Jordan" when somebody in the photoshoot disapproved her using her real name and felt Jordan would be best suited for her.Career
Modeling
Although she was already a well-established model, with frequent appearances on Page 3 and in men's lifestyle magazines, Jordan was insecure about the size of her breasts, believing that breast implants would make her look better. Despite protests from friends and family, Jordan underwent the operation, increasing her cup size from a B to a D.

During the 7 June 2001, British General Election, Jordan ran as a candidate in Stretford and Urmston under her real name using the slogan: 'For a Bigger and Betta Future'. Jordan (now preferring to be known to the public as Katie Price while not modeling) began 2004 by appearing on the reality TV series I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, alternately falling out with John Lydon and flirting in the jungle with singer Peter André whom she eventually married. She appeared in several Bushtucker trials, including one where she had to brave a tank full of small, harmless jellyfish for points. Price appeared on Top Gear's Star in a Reasonably Priced Car on 23 May 2004. She completed the lap in 1:52s. She also made a cameo appearance playing herself in an episode of the television drama series Footballers' Wives and appeared in the programme Jordan Gets Even for Five.

Katie & Peter was also successful in the United States, where it aired on E!, helping to establish Jordan's fame State-side.
In summer 2005, Jordan was one of many guest hosts of the first series of The Friday Night Project. In December 2005 she released an exercise fitness DVD The Jordan Workout featuring "The Juice Master" Jason Vale.
Katie & Peter: Unleashed began on Friday 19 October 2007 at 9pm on ITV2. A new series titled, Katie & Peter: The Next Chapter Down Under aired on ITV2 on 27 March 2008 at 9pm running for 13 weeks.

On 5 March 2005, singing a song titled "Not Just Anybody", wearing a skin tight pink catsuit whilst heavily pregnant, she lost the public vote, coming in second place in the pre-selection show Making Your Mind Up, behind Javine. The other contestants were the 1996 UK entrant Gina G, as well as Andy Scott-Lee, and the group Tricolore.
Price and André released a duets album on 27 November 2006 titled A Whole New World, with all proceedings going to their chosen charities affiliated with the many health conditions of her eldest son, Harvey. The album debuted at #20 in the UK album chart and achieved platinum status.
Published works
To coincide with her appearance on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! earlier in the year, Price released the first of three autobiographies – Being Jordan – in May 2004. Initially turned down by the mainstream publishing houses after demanding a £1 million advance, she was eventually signed up by small independent publisher John Blake, a former tabloid journalist, for £10,000 plus royalties. In a departure from industry norms, she conducted a 10 day book signing tour which provoked enough interest, contrary to expectations, almost exclusively female, to propel her to first position in the Nielsen BookScan hardback sales chart and to sell 97,090 copies in little over a year and over one million, as of January 2007.
Her second autobiography – Jordan: A Whole New World – detailing her wedding and family life reached number two in the hardback general category, selling 198,105 copies by 1 April 2006. Price's third autobiography Pushed to the Limit was released in February 2008.
Her first ghostwritten novel, Angel, about a young woman who becomes a model, was published in June 2006, and sold 300,000 copies in six weeks. Her second ghostwritten novel, Crystal, about a young woman's efforts to become a singer, sold 159,407 copies during the first three months after its release in June 2007. All four books were ghostwritten by Rebecca Farnworth.
In 2006 Price signed a £300,000 advance with Random House for Katie Price's Perfect Ponies, a series of children's books, with the first 6 released in 2007. 3 more books have been released throughout 2008. A title from that series, "My Pony Care Book", was nominated for the WH Smith's Children's Book of the Year. In 2008, she released a new children's book series entitled "Mermaids & Pirates", with 6 in the series. 4 more are expected for release in April 2008.
Price continues to write a regular advice column in OK! magazine.

As her career began to blossom, Jordan embarked on several brief relationships with celebrities and sports stars including footballers Teddy Sheringham, Gareth Gates, Dwight Yorke and the TV Gladiator 'Ace' (real name Warren Furman). Jordan had a much publicised relationship with Dane Bowers of the boy band Another Level. She had an abortion after discovering he had cheated on her.
On 27 May 2002, she gave birth to a baby boy, whom she named Harvey Daniel Price choosing the name Harvey after her grandfather, and Daniel after her brother. Harvey's father is the Sunderland footballer Dwight Yorke, although the relationship ended before the child was born. Jordan has said she intended to have the birth shown live over the Internet, but changed her mind later and decided to keep it private. Harvey was induced as he was two weeks overdue. He was found to be blind, having a condition known as septo-optic dysplasia, meaning that his optic nerve was unpredictable. As he has matured, she has also discovered that he is on the autistic spectrum, gains weight easily, and finds walking difficult.

In December 2007, Price underwent surgery in the U.S. to reduce the size of her breast implants and also had rhinoplasty. However, she was not happy with the results of her breast implants, so returned to Beverly Hills, California in July 2008 for corrective surgery. She returned to the UK five days later, showing off much smaller breasts, a size 32C.
Controversy
Price and her husband Peter André were criticised for sexually explicit behaviour in the reality show called Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter. In taping the show the couple re-enacted sex scenes (while fully clothed) and had frank discussions about sex.
The couple were libeled by an ex-employee and later accepted damages from the News of the World newspaper after it published the accusations about their parental abilities.

Lucy Gordon was an English actress and model. She became a face of CoverGirl in 1997 before starting an acting career. Her first film was Perfume in 2001 before going on to have small roles in Spider-Man 3, Serendipity and The Four Feathers. Gordon had played the actress and singer Jane Birkin in Serge Gainsbourg, vie héroïque; a biopic of singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg. Before the film was released, she was found hanging in her flat in Paris on 20 May 2009 after committing suicide.
Biography
Early life
Gordon was born in Oxford, England to Richard and Susan Gordon in 1980; she has a sister, Katie. She went to Oxford High School whose alumni included Dame Maggie Smith. She passed nine GCSEs in 1997. She stated in an interview in 1997 that she was continuing her studies for history, biology and French A-levels. She spent some of her childhood in France particularly during the Summer holidays and she was bilingual. She moved to Paris after living in New York for several years.
Career
While in the fourth form of Oxford High School she was "spotted" by a talent-spotter from a modelling agency as she and her mother visited a Clothes Show Live exhibition. She went on to appear as one of the faces of CoverGirl and soon after she moved into acting.
Gordon made her film debut in the 2001 as the character Sarah in Perfume. She appeared alongside Heath Ledger in the 2002 film The Four Feathers. She starred as the reporter Jennifer Dugan in the 2007 film Spider-Man 3.
Gordon had played the actress and singer Jane Birkin on a biopic of singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg before her death. The film, entitled Serge Gainsbourg, vie héroïque was presented at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and is due to be released in early 2010. The director Joann Sfar and the producers of the film Marc du Pontavice and Didier Lupfer released a statement that the film "owes a lot to the generosity, gentleness and immense talent of Lucy Gordon."
Death
Gordon was found hanging in her Paris flat, on 20 May 2009, two days before her 29th birthday. A French police official said Gordon appeared to have committed suicide by hanging. Tabloid newspapers have reported that she left two suicide notes before hanging herself in the Paris flat; one detailing her last wishes regarding her estate on one piece of paper, and a letter for her parents on another.
Her father Richard Gordon said a post-mortem examination proved she had died from hanging and that no other marks were found on her body. He said that "There is no question of foul play. Lucy committed suicide." He spoke after several reports in the press speculating that there may have been foul play. However, Gordon's boyfriend Jerome Alveras is under suspicion for her death. A report in OK! claims that French police have opened an investigation into the death.

Since then, Cole has worked with many other prominent photographers, including Craig McDean, Nick Knight, Juergen Teller, Arthur Elgort, and Irving Penn.
Cole is featured in top fashion magazines such as Vogue (American, Italian, British, Japanese and Korean), Citizen K, and V. She has also appeared on the cover of Numéro and three for British Vogue. Cole is photographed holding a teddy bear, wearing nothing but a pair of white socks. The shoot was controversial, with calls for Cole to be dropped from her Marks and Spencer contract. Marks and Spencer stated though that it will still use Lily, arguing she "is a popular, high profile, model who is very much in demand, and this is one of the key reasons why we have chosen to work with her." A spokesperson for the label insisted, "It's entirely her own choice as to what other work she accepts and we would not wish to interfere with her career." Cole was also photgraphed fully naked for Paradis magazine.

AKA Nicole Houston Reed
Born: 17-May-1988
Birthplace: Los Angeles, CA
Gender: Female
Religion: Jewish
Race or Ethnicity: White
Occupation: Actor
Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Thirteen
Co-wrote Thirteen with Catherine Hardwicke.
Father: Seth Reed (set designer, Jewish)
Mother: Cheryl Houston (hairdresser)
Nicole Houston "Nikki" Reed is an American film actress and screenwriter. She became known in 2003, after the release of the film Thirteen, for which she co-wrote the screenplay. Reed has since appeared in several films, including Lords of Dogtown and Mini's First Time. She also portrayed Rosalie Hale in the film adaptation of the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.
Biography
Early life
Reed was born in West Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Cheryl Houston, a beautician, and Seth Reed, a set designer. She has an older brother, Nathan. Reed's father is Jewish and her mother is of Cherokee and Italian descent; Reed was raised without religion, though she grew up around Judaism (her brother had a Bar Mitzvah).
Reed has described her home life as "complicated." Her parents divorced when she was two, and she grew up with her mother. She describes herself as having been "shy and a bookworm," but at the age of twelve, while attending Palms Middle School, she became rebellious and emotionally volatile. The relationship between Reed and her mother became strained when Reed experimented with drugs, alcohol, and sex. At the age of fourteen, Reed was emancipated; she then moved out and began living on her own. She had no specific desire to become an actress.
Career
Reed and director Catherine Hardwicke finished the script for the semi-autobiographical film Thirteen in six days, a relatively fast time for a Hollywood script to be written. Producers asked Reed to play a role in the film because they had trouble casting it, considering it an "uncomfortable" role for most young actresses. The film, starring Evan Rachel Wood, was released in 2003 to glowing reviews, giving Reed recognition in Hollywood as both an actress and a screenwriter. Following the film's release, Reed also appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and hosted a number of award shows, including the Young Hollywood Awards (2003) and the Independent Spirit Awards Nomination Show, followed by the West Independent Spirits Awards, both in 2004.
Reed has continued to participate in racy roles that involve the portrayal of sexually-promiscuous teenagers, including Lords of Dogtown, also directed by Hardwicke. In early 2006, she appeared on the series The O.C., playing Sadie, a new love interest for the character Ryan Atwood. Reed has noted that she disagrees with what she describes as the "trendy and shallow things" that The O.C. promotes, and that she appeared in the series only on the advice of her agents.
Her most distinctive recent role is in Mini's First Time, which received a limited release in the United States on July 14, 2006. In the film, Reed played a teenager who, through seduction, involves her stepfather in a plot to murder her mother. Reed has noted that her character does not "understand the weight of consequence," and that she enjoyed playing someone who she describes as "crass" and having a "trucker's mouth." Reed's character participates in explicit sex scenes, which had to be filmed from the point of view of Reed's back, as she was sixteen at the time and thus legally unable to film her scenes in a more explicit manner.
Reed has written another script set in New Zealand between the 1960s and the 1980s. Reed has noted that she feels she is a versatile actress, but feels typecast in roles of "sexy bad girls," noting that producers often tell her that she is too "sexy" for a particular part.
On February 12, 2008, it was announced that Reed would be portraying Rosalie Hale in the movie version of Twilight, which was directed by Catherine Hardwicke. In June 2008, Reed wrote a letter to her fans, thanking them for supporting her through the controversy that surrounded her, a brunette, being cast as Rosalie (described as a blonde).
During a radio interview with Big O and Dukes of WJFK 1067, Jason Mewes stated that he is doing a movie called K-11 with Reed and Kristen Stewart, also of Twilight. The film, which is being directed by Stewart's mother, takes place in a dorm of the Los Angeles County Jail, and will feature both Stewart and Reed as male characters.
Personal life
After Thirteen's success, Reed returned to her Los Angeles high school, but dropped out again after a year. She cited her experiences involving "mothers [who] were sneaking into the school at lunchtime to confront and harass me about the film" as the reason for her departure. Reed was subsequently home-schooled, and she eventually received her high-school diploma. Reed divides her time between New York City and Los Angeles. She is close friends with her Twilight co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Now, for my own CD, I've been co-writing and getting really into it. It's still pop-rock fun music like the iCarly soundtrack, but I think it's a little more mature. They're love songs and just fun songs about hanging out with your girlfriends." The album is probably going to be released in 2009 at some point. Occupation: Actor

Executive summary: Sweet and Lowdown
Father: Peter Morton
Mother: Pamela
Boyfriend: Charlie Creed-Miles (actor, one daughter)
Daughter: Esme (b. 5-Feb-2000)
Samantha Morton (born 13 May 1977) is a Golden Globe Award-winning and two-time Academy Award-nominated English actress.
Early life
Morton was born in Clifton, Nottingham, England; the daughter of Pamela Freebury, a factory worker, and Peter Morton. Her parents divorced in 1979. She attended West Bridgford Comprehensive School and spent part of her childhood in care.
Career
Morton took up acting as a child. She joined the Central Junior Television Workshop when she was thirteen and was soon being offered small-screen roles. In 1991 she was cast as Clare Anderson in the first series of Lucy Gannon's Soldier Soldier and also made a guest appearance, as Mandy, in an episode of Boon — both were Central TV productions.
Moving to London at sixteen, Morton applied to numerous drama schools, including RADA, without success. As a result she received no further formal acting training. Despite this she made her stage debut at the Royal Court Theatre, and continued her television career with a guest appearance on Peak Practice and an impressive performance in a memorable episode of Cracker: "The Big Crunch".
A controversial role in the second series of Kay Mellor's successful Band of Gold (1995) resulted in a lot of tabloid interest, some of which focused on Morton's upbringing and personal life. Further television roles followed, including parts in period dramas including Emma, Jane Eyre and The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling. Morton's reputation was growing fast and she was now able to move into films. The well-received Under the Skin (1997) continued to raise her profile and impressed Woody Allen enough for him to cast her in Sweet and Lowdown (1999). Morton gave an acclaimed performance and received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2000. In 2002 she won the British Independent Film Award for Best Actress for her work in Morvern Callar, followed by a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress for In America in 2004.
Morton played the Moors Murderess Myra Hindley in a television film Longford (2006). Set between 1967 and 1997, the film depicts the relationship between the infamous child killer and Lord Longford, the politician who spent years campaigning for her release. Morton was severely criticised by the relatives of the children who were killed by Hindley and Ian Brady but she insisted, "It is my duty as a performer to raise issues...we're afraid to look at". Morton received a 2007 Emmy nomination and won a Golden Globe for her performance in the film, both for Best Supporting Actress.
Music videos
Morton has also appeared in a number of music videos. She worked with English garage rock band The Horrors on their debut video for "Sheena is a Parasite", and played a mermaid opposite Larry Mullen in U2's promotional video for "Electrical Storm".
Future work
Morton plans to make her directorial debut with the semi-autobiographical piece The Unloved, a collaboration with screenwriter Tony Grisoni.
Personal life
Morton has two daughters: Esme (born 2000), with actor Charlie Creed-Miles; and Edie (born 4 January 2008 in London), with filmmaker Harry Holm. Morton is engaged to Holm, the son of actor Ian Holm.
In 2006 Morton was reported to have had a stroke. As a result she was said to be close to death and had to relearn how to walk and talk, although the truth of this is debated.

Location: San Diego, California, United States
Height: 5 ft 11 in

Carrie Prejean is a beauty queen and model from Vista, California, is Miss California USA 2009, and placed first runner up in the Miss USA 2009 pageant. She gained nationwide attention over her answer to a question about same-sex marriage.
Prejean has appeared as a model for Target, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, and Nordstrom. She has also appeared in Bliss Magazine and PJ Salvage Fall Catalog 2008, and as a model for E! Entertainment in the Academy Awards and as first runner-up on the Deal or No Deal Season 3 Model Search.
Personal life
Born May 13, 1987, Caroline Michelle Prejean grew up in an evangelical Christian home in Vista, California and graduated in 2005 from Vista High School. She is currently a senior at San Diego Christian College, a small, evangelical liberal arts college in El Cajon, California and attends The Rock Church, where she volunteers with their outreach ministries. Prejean is studying to become a special education teacher and spends her spare time volunteering for the Best Buddies non-profit organization, a program that helps people with disabilities. She is also a volunteer for the Special Olympics.
Pageants
Prejean competed in the Miss California Teen USA 2005 pageant and placed first runner-up to Stephanie Brink. In 2007 she competed in the Miss California USA 2008 pageant and initially placed third runner-up; later it a judging error was discovered and she was promoted to first runner-up. The winner of that pageant was Raquel Beezley, who was also in the top three at Miss California USA 2005.
Prejean returned the following year and won the Miss California USA 2009 title, succeeding Beezley as California's representative to the Miss USA pageant. Prejean competed at the nationally televised Miss USA 2009 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 19, 2009 and placed first runner-up. This was California's third first runner-up placement in five years: Brittany Hogan was first runner-up in 2005 and Tamiko Nash was first runner-up in 2006. Prejean's answer to her final question during the pageant became the subject of controversy. A few weeks prior to the Miss USA pageant, Prejean received free breast implants paid for by the Miss California pageant committee. The co-director of the Miss California pageant said "We assisted when Carrie came to us and voiced the interest in having the procedure done, we want to put her in the best possible confidence in order to present herself in the best possible light on a national stage."
Miss USA 2009 controversy

During the 2009 Miss USA pageant, Prejean was asked by openly gay pageant judge, Perez Hilton, whether she believed every state should legalize same-sex marriage. She responded that she did not. After the pageant Perez Hilton made negative comments about the contestant and told ABC news "She lost it because of that question. She was definitely the front-runner before that.", leading some to believe that the answer directly had caused her to lose the competition.
Prejean believes that God used Hilton's question to test her character. On the Sean Hannity TV show she stated: "By having to answer that question in front of a national audience, God was testing my character and faith. I'm glad I stayed true to myself. It was not about being politically correct; for me, it was about being biblically correct. I am so proud of myself and I have so many people that are so proud of me. And [winning] wasn't what God wanted for my life that night. I was true to myself and I know that I can go out and speak to young people about standing up for what you believe in and never compromising anything for anyone or anything, even if it's the crown of Miss USA." Hannity asked her about how she felt about Hilton's comments personally and Prejean replied: "You know, I forgive him. I know that he's angry for whatever reason. I know there must be a bigger issue going on in his life. It just so happens that I'm used in this way. And I'm so happy; I'm so blessed. I'm happy to be here, and I'm -- I'm filled with joy. I really am."
Miss USA pageant co-director and former Miss USA 1995 Shanna Moakler, released a statement saying that Prejean may have lost the crown because she was "unable to convey compassion for all the people that she would be representing as Miss USA," suggesting that the controversy would have the "ability to open up a public forum on equal rights." Keith Lewis, director of the Miss California pageant that Prejean had won to obtain entry into the Miss USA pageant, also released a statement commenting: "I am personally saddened and hurt that Miss California USA 2009 believes marriage rights belong only to a man and a woman . . . Religious beliefs have no place in politics in the Miss California family."
On April 26, 2009, while speaking at The Rock Church, where she is an active member, Prejean stated that Miss California USA officials had pressured her to apologize for her statement and "not talk" about her Christian faith.
Several conservative talk show hosts condemned Hilton and defended Prejean for honestly stating her personal beliefs. Michael Medved criticized Hilton for what he viewed as an inappropriate expression of intolerance, while conservative columnist Michelle Malkin also criticized Hilton for using the media to humiliate and attack Prejean. Following the pageant, Prejean partnered with the National Organization for Marriage, a non-profit organization opposed to the legalization of gay marriage.
Gavin Newsom, mayor of San Francisco, defended Prejean's statement even though he disagrees with her position: "I want to challenge her on her point of view, but she spoke her conscience; I think she's being a little unfairly maligned".
On April 24, Fox News correspondent Bret Baier pointed out on the program, Special Report with Bret Baier, that Prejan's statements were very similar to President Barack Obama's previous statements regarding gay marriage, replaying a speech in which Obama said marriage should only be "between a man and a woman".
Post-Miss USA Pageant
Endorsement Contract
Following the pageant, Prejean joined National Organization for Marriage's campaign against gay marriage.
British MP Alan Duncan controversy
On the April 24, 2009, edition of Have I Got News For You, a British MP Alan Duncan was asked his opinion of Prejean's comments on same sex marriage. Duncan replied, "If you read that Miss California has been murdered, you will know it was me, won't you?" Duncan later attempted to put his comments in context and issued an apology, making it clear that the comments were an attempt at a joke.
Donald Trump was "reviewing additional materials" – checking out the newest sexy and half-clothed photos of Miss California Carrie Prejean -- Monday night in order to decide her fate as Miss California.
His decision will be announced at the Plaza at 11 a.m. Eastern Time. And yes, Carrie will be there.
The topless photos of Prejean were released this morning by TMZ. The photos, definitely more salacious than the previous ones, show Prejean, 21, wearing an open top and underwear on a beach.
To be honest, it's nothing more than you would see on any public beach in Europe, but there ya go -- this isn't Europe.
Adding to the mix, thedirty.com has released more photos of Carrie with admitted bong-hitter Michael Phelps (and his monogrammed butt) and other party boys.
Trump, who owns the Miss Universe organization, told Greta Van Susteren on her show Monday night that he was going to meet with the controversial beauty queen this morning before he announces his final decision regarding her fate at a news conference
Asked by Van Susteren what criterion he base his decision on, he responded:
"Well, look, first of all, I always like to give the benefit of the doubt to somebody. And I did that with Tara Connor, and she's really made me very proud because she's come through beautifully, at least so far. I mean, she was really suffering from major addictions, and she's really done a great job and we're all proud of her. And so that was a great thing. And most people didn't think I should do that. I took a lot of heat for doing it. So I was very happy with it.
"This is a very different case. And we'll see what happens. But we are determining tonight, certain things have already been determined, and you know, hopefully, you'll be at the news conference tomorrow."
At a Beverly Hills news conference yesterday, the Miss California organization already took appointed a possible replacement for Prejean.
Miss Cali runner-up Tami Farrell was named Beauty Ambassador of California.
Regardless of Trump’s decision today, pageant co-directors Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler said Ferrell will serve as “an ambassador” for the state’s organization, appearing in Prejean’s absence or in situations where it would be “unwise” to send her.
Donald Trump announced this morning at a news conference in New York that Carrie Prejean will remain Miss California and serve out her term.
About her answer to the same-sex marriage question from Judge No. 8 -- Perez Hilton -- Trump allowed that she gave a “very honest answer when asked a tough question,” pointing out that “it was the same answer that the president of the United States gave.”
As for the topless photos, Trump said, “We’ve reviewed the photos carefully,” adding that “we are in the 21st century. Carrie’s a model, a very successful model. We have determined that the pictures taken are fine, the pictures were acceptable."
As for any miscommunication between Carrie and the Miss California pageant officials, Trump said the problem had been “totally solved.”

AKA Holly Rachel Vukadinoviæ
Born: 11 May 1983
Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Genre(s) Pop, Dance
Contemporary R&B
Occupation(s) Singer
Actress, Model
Holly Valance is an Australian model, actress and ARIA nominated singer.
Early life
Valance was born in Melbourne, Australia, to a Serbian father Rajko and a British mother, Rachel. She is related to the late British comedian Benny Hill — Hill's cousin was her grandfather. Valance was educated at the Star of the Sea College, a Roman Catholic high school in Melbourne. While modeling as a teen, she was discovered and cast in the long-running Australian soap Neighbours. Cast as Felicity "Flick" Scully in 1999, Valance left the series in 2002 to pursue a music career.
Music career
Valance's first single as a recording artist was a cover of Turkish singer Tarkan's "Kiss Kiss" (composed by Turkish "Diva" Sezen Aksu), released in 2002. The song debuted at #1 in both the Australian Recording Industry Association and UK Singles Charts charts in April/May 2002. The director's cut version of the music video was notable in that Valance appeared to be dancing naked, but in fact she was wearing flesh-colored panties but no top. The footage was then digitally retouched adding strategically placed lighting effects. The song was nominated for four ARIA Music Awards.
Valance's next single, "Down Boy" peaked at #2 in the UK and at #3 in Australia. Her début album, Footprints, was released on 14 October 2002. It debuted and peaked at #9 in the UK and #15 in Australia. The album's third and final single "Naughty Girl" peaked at #3 in Australia and at #16 in the UK. In 2003, the first single "State of Mind" from Valance's second album of the same name debuted and peaked at #8 in the UK and at #14 in Australia, but the album didn't get into the top 50 of either country.
Following legal problems with her manager/boyfriend, and poor sales from the album State of Mind, Valance was reportedly dropped from her recording company. She denied this stating, "I asked to be released, but Warner refused, so I hung out for a year until the contract expired. We parted on good terms". Valance later confirmed she is no longer interested in recording music, telling Men's Style magazine:
"No one can make any money. It was a really tough slog and I had a good go at it, but it was difficult. You put in so much effort and put in so many long hours for not much return. I was making all my money from endorsements and appearances, but I didn't make that much from the actual record sales. I think everyone is suffering in the music industry. It wasn't just me. I do something until it's not fun any more and then move on. Music wasn't fun any more."
In 2005, Valance returned to music, albeit briefly, when she appeared on Har Mar Superstar's album The Handler singing on the tracks "Back the Camel Up" and "Body Request".
On May 4th 2009, Frankmusik posted a video on his Kyte profile of him and Valance in the studio.
Film and television career
In 2004, Valance returned to acting, this time in the United States, appearing in episodes of the television series CSI: Miami, Entourage. In 2005, she appeared in an episode of CSI: NY. She then guest-starred in Prison Break, in 2006, as Nika Volek, a role which she continued to portray in the show's second season.
In 2006, Valance appeared in the National Lampoon comedy Pledge This!, alongside American socialite Paris Hilton. The same year, she was in DOA: Dead or Alive, an adaptation of the popular video game Dead or Alive, where she played Christie. In 2007, she appeared in the TV series Shark and Moonlight. In 2008, she had a role in the film Taken alongside Liam Neeson and Famke Janssen, and appeared in an episode of the The CW series Valentine.
In addition to film and television roles, Valance has also appeared in ads for Schwarzkopf hair care products and 1800 Reverse.
Legal action
In 2003, Valance fired her then-manager Scott Michaelson (who owns Biscayne Partners Pty Ltd) by phone, 15 months before his contract was due to expire. Biscayne Partners Pty. Ltd. sued Valance Corp., won their case and were awarded damages by the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
During the trial, Valance's mother claimed that Michaelson was negligent in his duties as a manager, which forced her to take over from his role as manager. Former Neighbours co-star Kym Valentine also gave evidence that Valance "said she was feeling bad, a bit stressed out, because she was leaving Scott" and that "she said the solicitors for her record company would get her out of the contract and would be faxing him the paper work (from the UK) to do so." Valance denied that she told Valentine this conversation in court, even though she had signed an affidavit where she stated she had no recollection of the conversation.
Justice Clifford Einstein said, "I have given close consideration to the question of whether or not the circumstances presently before the Court which do, it seems to me, show a calculated disregard of the rights of Biscayne as well as a cynical pursuit of benefit". The court subsequently ordered Valance Corp. pay $350,000 to Biscayne Partners Pty. Ltd. Of this amount, $47,264.56 was "from shares Ms Valance and Mr Michaelson had bought together on the London Stock Exchange", though the court did not award in favour of Biscayne getting a percentage of sales of her album, State of Mind.
Personal life
Valance, who lives in Los Angeles, is dating Australian actor Alex O'Loughlin.

Born: May 8, 1976
Location: Montreal, Canada
Genre(s) Contemporary singer/songwriter
Occupation(s) Singer-songwriter
Martha Wainwright is a Canadian-American folk-rock singer-songwriter. She is the daughter of American folk/blues musician Loudon Wainwright III and Canadian folk singer-songwriter Kate McGarrigle. Along with her older brother, Rufus Wainwright, Martha was raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in a musically fueled household, an environment which helped nurture her musical creativity.
Early musical development
In 1998, Wainwright took the first step toward her musical career, through the recording of her song "Year of the Dragon" as a contribution to The McGarrigle Hour, an album released by her mother, Kate, and her aunt, Anna McGarrigle. Shortly after this recording, Martha began singing backup vocals for her brother, Rufus. Although her musical beginnings and early recording opportunities were made possible through her already established parents and brother, she soon distinguished herself from her family and created her own musical identity.
Following her incomplete studies in drama at Montreal's Concordia University, she moved to New York City, where she was able to establish herself as an emerging singer-songwriter. She soon made contacts within the industry, one of which was producer Brad Albetta, who worked with Wainwright to produce her self-titled debut album, Martha Wainwright (released April 12, 2005 by MapleMusic Recordings).
Albetta worked again with Wainwright to produce her second album, I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too, released in Canada on June 10, 2008. Special guest artists contributing to the album include Pete Townshend (The Who), Donald Fagen (Steely Dan), Garth Hudson (The Band), as well as her mother, brother and aunt.
Wainwright is signed with the independent record labels Rounder Records in the United States, DiS in the United Kingdom, MapleMusic Recordings in Canada, V2 Records in Europe and Shock Records in Australia.
Style and genre
Wainwright's style has been described as a melding of folk, rock, country, and chanson singing. The folk inspirations comes naturally and inescapably to Wainwright, as she was born into a family of folk musicians. She has also drawn inspiration from folk legend Leonard Cohen, who she paid tribute to at the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 24, 2006, singing Cohen's "Chelsea Hotel". She also performed "Tower of Song" and "The Traitor" at the Cohen tribute concert which became the film and album Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man.
Her folk influences give her an acoustic sound, with an autobiographical and poetic lyricism. Her infusion of pop-rock, alt-country, and cabaret-style chanson singing contributes to the unique sound of her mostly folk-based style.
It is her vocal density and versatility which sets her apart from her peers and contemporaries. She has an uncommon vocal ability which allows her to casually leap from a simple sensuality to a longing yodel, then back to a whispering timbre; this versatility is heard in her track "Bleeding All Over You". She also displays a dynamic vocal range, which journeys from a guttural lower range ("In the Middle of the Night"), to a deep, powerful and sustainable upper range (heard in the chorus of "Comin' Tonight"). As a result, her vocal versatility has grown throughout the years since the release of her debut album. As a result, she is now able to slide in and out of these varying stylistic degrees, while exuding a newly found air of fearless confidence.
Performance and media attention
Since the release of her latest album, I Know You're Married..., Wainwright has been touring extensively throughout Europe, Canada, the United States and Australia. She has received positive reviews; Tricia Summers, of Spin.com, describes Wainwright's stage presence, of July 23/08, as: "Slowly strumming her guitar and along on stage with a powerful voice, she knew she had the crowd wrapped around her finger".
Wainwright has received positive reviews for her performances. She appeared at the 2007 Bonnaroo and at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Inverness-shire in August 2007. She recently duetted with Snow Patrol at the V Festival and Lollapalooza, and performed with her brother at the Hollywood Bowl in September 2007.
She married her producer Brad Albetta in September 2007.
Annie Lennox joined forces with Wainwright and 22 other female artists to raise awareness of the transmission of HIV to unborn children in Africa. The single "Sing" was released on World Aids Day on December 1, 2007, when Lennox appeared at the Nelson Mandela 46664 concert in South Africa.

Johanna Selhorst "Josie" Maran (born May 8, 1978) is an American model and actress.
Biography
Early life
Maran was born in Menlo Park, California. She attended Castilleja School, an all-girls' school in Palo Alto, California. She is of Russian Jewish descent on her paternal side. Her first cover was Glamour in 1998.
Career
Maran's modeling career began at the age of 12; when an agent spotted her at a local barbecue restaurant, she began modeling part time. Maran graduated from the Castilleja School in Palo Alto, then began to pursue modeling more seriously. As those in the fashion industry consider her height of 5'7" to be too short for runway modeling, Maran works mainly in editorial modeling and advertising/image modeling.
Signed at age 17 with the Elite modeling agency of Los Angeles, Maran appeared on her first cover with Glamour magazine in 1998, and she was the featured Guess? Girl in their summer 1998 and fall 1998 campaigns. After building a résumé of over 25 commercials and advertisements, including playing Howie D's companion in the music video of Backstreet Boys hit Everybody (Backstreet's Back), in which she was bitten on the neck by Count Dracula (played by Howie D), Maran moved cross-country to join with Elite in New York City. In 1999, she landed a multi-year deal with Maybelline. Maran appeared in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue for three consecutive years; from 2000 to 2002. Maran is also signed with London agency Storm Model Management, and 1/One Management in New York City.
Maran's interest in the arts extends beyond film. When not in acting class, she is training herself in "dance classes... violin classes, speech classes, everything. I'm just trying to train myself in the arts, you know? Nobody else is gonna do it so I'm going to. I'm gonna take on the world". Her interest in music led her to play casually in two bands: Darling, with socialite Nicole Richie, and Hollywood 2000, where she sang and played violin.
In 2001, Maran appeared in an independent film, as title character Mallory in The Mallory Effect. Maran followed this by appearing as Susan in Swatters in 2002. In 2004, she appeared in three films - as a French model in Little Black Book, as one of Dracula's brides, Marishka, in Van Helsing, and briefly as a cigarette girl in The Aviator. Maran appeared in a short film "The Confession" alongside Wentworth Miller in 2005, and as Kira Hayden in The Gravedancers in 2006. Maran will not play Polly Hudson in The Final Season, scheduled for release in 2007. This role is now played by Rachael Leigh Cook.
She was recruited in 2005 by EA Games to appear as a main character in the street-racing computer and video game, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which was released on November 17, 2005. She plays the game's second lead Mia Townsend, who guides the lead character through the game.
In June 2007, Maran launched her own natural cosmetics product line, named Josie Maran Cosmetics. Beyond her business activities she commits herself to the protection and improvement of nature and the environment.
Maran competed in the 2007 season of Dancing with the Stars, but she and dance partner Alec Mazo were the first couple eliminated. Maran subsequently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and in reference to getting voted off first, said, "I should have cut my legs off".
Personal life
Maran was quoted as saying on Jimmy Kimmel Live, August 12, 2004: "I don't believe in marriage. I just don't think it's necessary in this day and age. I just think if you need to get married, then you're already distrusting the person. Why do you have to sign something to show your love? You just love, everyday." Maran talked about quitting modeling and acting to live in Hawaii and teach children, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, October 24, 2005. She reported to have also started yoga at Kripalu, eating organic foods, and trying to quit smoking.
Maran was at one time in a relationship with magician David Blaine. She is currently with photographer Ali Alborzi and the couple have one daughter, Rumi Joon, born on June 20, 2006, in the back yard of their Los Angeles home, as planned.

Natalie Nicole Mejia is an American singer and dancer. Mejia is a member of the musical group Girlicious.
Personal life
Born in West Covina, California and raised in Diamond Bar, California, Mejia first came into prominence on national television as a contestant on The CW reality show Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious in 2008. Natalie was a contestant on the CW Reality show Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, in which she became one of the four girls to make up the group, Girlicious. She was known for being very competitive and, at times, overly confident. During the show, Natalie lost her grandmother. She took the news really hard because her mother told her over the phone. Robin Antin and the other girls had to help her through. Chrystina Sayers was her best friend on the show, and the two became very close from the beginning. The close nature of their friendship became especially apparent during the infamous "bathtub scene" in which Mejia and Sayers take a bath together, scandalizing the other contestants. Both Natalie and Chrystina were also the final two members to be chosen for the group. She is sometimes seen sporting message T-Shirts during her performances such as "Latinas Do It Better" or her infamous quote "Beauty Is A Talent". The shirt saying "Latinas do it better" was worn in the music video for Like Me.

Traci Lords, also known as Traci Elizabeth Lords and Tracy Lords, is an American film actress, producer, film director, writer and singer. She first achieved notoriety for her underage appearances in pornographic films and Penthouse magazine (she was 15 years old in her first film), later becoming a television and B-movie actress.
Early life
Nora Louise Kuzma was born in Steubenville, Ohio to Louis and Patricia Kuzma (née Briceland). Her stage name is said to be in tribute to Katharine Hepburn's character Tracy Lord from The Philadelphia Story (the same character played by Grace Kelly in High Society), or from the first name of her high school best friend Traci and the last name of her favorite actor from Hawaii Five-O, Jack Lord. At twelve, she fled from her abusive alcoholic father to Lawndale, California, with her mother and three sisters. In 1983, she began attending Redondo Union High School. She eventually had an abortion, which she paid for herself; went through a nervous breakdown, and ran away from home.
Porn career
At age 15, she was living with her mother's ex-boyfriend, Roger. Posing as her stepfather, he helped her respond to classified ads requesting models. Using a fake ID provided by Roger that stated she was 20 rather than 15,[4] she started in the porn industry with Jim South at the World Modeling Agency in Sherman Oaks, under the name Kristie Elizabeth Nussman.
Shortly after, she was modeling for widely distributed adult magazines, most notably Penthouse, in the same September 1984 issue that exposed Miss America 1984, Vanessa Williams. She quickly ventured into adult movies. Her first movie was What Gets Me Hot!, followed by Those Young Girls and Talk Dirty To Me Part III, all made in the first half of 1984. Lords' youthful appearance and enthusiastic sexual performances propelled her to stardom. By the time she was 18, she had appeared in 100 adult films; however, Lords argued in her autobiography that about 80 of those films were composed from leftover and re-edited footage from the original 20 films that were shot.
In May 1986, authorities discovered she had been underage while making pornographic movies and arrested her, as well as the owners of her movie agency and X-Citement Video, Inc. (See United States v. X-Citement Video.) The ensuing prosecution against the agencies cost the pornographic film and distribution industry millions of dollars, as they were obliged by law to remove hundreds of thousands of her videotapes, films and magazines from store shelves to avoid the risk of prosecution for trafficking in child pornography (the legality varies with countries: while it is illegal in France to produce a pornographic film involving an actor under 18, the film remains legal). In her book, Lords suggested hypocrisy on the part of the movie producers and the news media, arguing that the porn industry actually got richer from the publicity of the scandal, even as they complained of losing money after destroying her illegal movies. Lords felt she was also exploited by the reporters, who used censored stills from her unlawful films. Lords herself was never charged with a crime, since as a minor she was unable to give informed consent to perform sex acts on film for money. Instead, the agents and producers who accepted her fake IDs were charged and people affiliated with the films in question experienced legal troubles for years.
Like most starlets of the time, Lords received a salary for her appearances in X-rated movies and didn't own the rights of those films. According to her autobiography, she made $35,000 as total salary for all of those movies, including the $5,000 she received for her appearance in Penthouse. Most of this money was spent on rent and drugs. It also paid for a black Corvette that her boyfriend later wrecked.
For her last few films, she and another much older boyfriend formed the Traci Lords Company, where he co-produced and directed the movies. Lords received a smaller salary, but also received part of the rights of these movies.
Only one of these films, Traci, I Love You, was produced after her eighteenth birthday, making it the only one legally available in the United States. (However, in non-US jurisdictions where the age of consent is lower, as well as over the Internet, her earlier films continue to be distributed).
After her arrest, Lords sold her rights to this film for $100,000. This action led to claims that Lords herself had tipped off the authorities to gain immunity from prosecution, while profiting from the movie. No proof has ever surfaced to substantiate this claim. Lords denies this notion in her autobiography, and claims that she was reluctant to sell the rights, since at that time she was trying to become a mainstream actress and didn't want any older movies still available. Also, she wrote she knew nothing of people's real names or who produced which film, and did not provide such information to the FBI. The FBI agents, "appeared annoyed" when she could not provide the information they wanted. She said that the agents claimed to have monitored her for three years.
Government prosecutors declared that Lords was a victim of a manipulative industry, maintaining she was drugged and made to do non-consensual acts. But industry insiders, like Ron Jeremy, Ginger Lynn and Tom Byron, say they never saw her use drugs, and that she was fully aware of her actions, even if, as a minor, she could not legally consent. One of her co-workers from that time, Christy Canyon, has gone so far as to say about Lords' autobiography: "I think her book could have been fabulous, except that she was lying throughout the whole thing."
While Lords decries the pornographic film industry, she continues to use the stage name she gave herself as a minor, and ultimately made it her legal name. She wrote, "I chose to stop running from it. Instead, I won it, legally changing my name to Traci Elizabeth Lords. That's who I was, and that's who I was going to be." Lords stated that she is not trying to deny her past, telling Oprah Winfrey: "I found you can run but you cannot hide".
Post porn career
Lords moved into mainstream films, and has appeared in a number of movies. At 18, Lords began studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, and soon after, starred in a remake of Roger Corman's film Not of This Earth. Then in 1990, she appeared in John Waters' Cry-Baby, playing the role of Wanda Woodward. Other movies on her resume include Blade, Tommyknockers, Black Mask 2: City of Masks, and Chump Change. The latter won her a Best Actress Award at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival. She has also made cameo appearances in Serial Mom, Nowhere and Virtuosity.
In addition to movies, Lords has also made many appearances in TV shows, including Married... with Children, MacGyver, Highlander: The Series, Tales from the Crypt, Hercules, Gilmore Girls, and Will & Grace among others, along with recurring roles in Profiler, Roseanne, and Melrose Place. From late in 2000 to 2001, Lords appeared in the Francis Ford Coppola produced sci-fi series First Wave, playing Jordan Radcliffe, the newest member of a group called Raven Nation that combats extraterrestrial aliens.
In the 1990s, Lords began developing a career as a singer, performing vocals on the Manic Street Preachers U.K. Top 40 hit, "Little Baby Nothing", and also appearing in the music videos of other performers and groups. In 1995, Lords made her solo debut, in collaboration with Juno Reactor and Jesus Jones' Mike Edwards, called 1000 Fires. The Juno Reactor-produced first single "Control" reached #2 on the Billboard Dance Charts. The song "Control" was featured in the 1995 movie adaptation of the game Mortal Kombat, which played as an instrumental.
Lords returned to the music scene in 2004 with a new, independently produced recording, the double A-side "Sunshine".
In 2003 she published her autobiography, Traci Lords: Underneath It All (ISBN 0-06-050820-5), which made the New York Times bestseller list. In December 2003, Lords wrote and directed a short film with Fox Searchlab entitled Sweet Pea, released and shown at film festivals in 2005. The film is loosely inspired by an experience recounted in her autobiography; a teenage girl finds herself overcome with doubt after being raped by her boyfriend.
Lords' most recent film appearance is in Zack and Miri Make a Porno, where she plays a strap-on wielding bubble gum chewing porn star.
Personal life
On October 7, 2007, Lords gave birth to a son, Joseph Gunnar, her first child with husband of five years, Jeff Lee.

Brooke Ellen Bollea better known by her stage name Brooke Hogan, is an American pop/R&B singer and television personality. She appeared on the reality-television series Hogan Knows Best, which focused on her family, and which premiered on July 10, 2005 on VH1. Since the cancellation of Hogan Knows Best, she's starred in a spin-off reality series called Brooke Knows Best which focuses on her life now independent from her parents and living with two roommates. She released her debut album Undiscovered in 2006.
Early life
She was born in Tampa, Florida, the oldest child of professional wrestler Hulk Hogan (Terrence Gene "Terry" Bollea) and his ex-wife, Linda Bollea, and the older sister of Nick Bollea.
In high school, she took dance classes, voice lessons, and gymnastics. She joined the cheerleading squad of her Clearwater, FL school, Clearwater Central Catholic, in her freshman year. Hogan graduated from high school at the age of sixteen.
Career
Hogan was signed to Trans Continental Records in 2002. Some early music was produced with the help of Rich Cronin. Her first song in the United States singles charts was "Everything to Me". Produced and written by Shep Goodman and Kenny Gioia as part of her album This Voice, the single was released in July 2004. It appeared at #97 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot 100 Singles Sales, but dropped off the chart in a few weeks. The album was planned for release September 21, 2004, but this never happened.
Brooke next appeared with her father in an hour-long profile on VH1, (Inside) Out: Hulk Hogan, Stage Dad. The success of this special spawned an entire series. Hogan Knows Best debuted in July 2005 and was the highest-rated series premiere in VH1's network history. The series, which helped her become a household name, was according to Hulk Hogan intended in part to promote Brooke's music career.
Hogan Knows Best presented her father as strict with her dating. On the show, Hulk placed a GPS tracker on Brooke's vehicle that enables him to track her whereabouts and can even remotely shut down the engine of his daughter's car if he feels the need to do so. However, Brooke said in a later interview that her father loosened up after her eighteenth birthday.
In 2006, Hogan changed record labels and became the first artist signed to Scott Storch's label, initially called Storchaveli Records, but later named Storch Music Company. Hogan's first single, "About Us", premiered on season two finale of Hogan Knows Best. The album, Undiscovered, was released October 24, 2006. In 2006 Brooke won a Teen Choice Award for Best Choice Grill for the music video for "About Us".
Hogan appeared in the November 2006 edition of FHM, becoming the first FHM Cover Model under 21-years-old. As a result, the November issue had no liquor advertising: "In the very rare instance that you might have a cover star under the age of 21, they don't want to be in the position of seeming to market to anyone under age."
Hogan appeared as a panel judge in America’s Prom Queen in early 2008. A spin-off series of Hogan Knows Best called Brooke Knows Best premiered on July 13, 2008 on VH1.

Location: Szczecin, Poland
Dominika Wolski is a Polish, Canadian actress
Biography
Born in Szczecin, Poland in 1975, Wolski emigrated to North America at the age of 7. She began acting and writing stories at the same time as a youngster and her work, both on and off screen, reflects a mixture of classical and rebellious influences, the aristocratic debutante and the country girl. She is classically trained but is known as an actress who, "takes risks and brings a refreshing energy", (Jason Bourque, director, Game Over). In her first five years of acting, she has worked with reognizable names such as Jeremiah Chechick, Bobby Roth, Jessica Alba Dominic Purcell, Mischa Barton, Roland Joffe, and Bruce Greenwood. She has been interviewed on MTV several times and photographed for Elle magazine, En Route.
Wolski was notably awarded a CBC mini series out of 1400 applicants nation-wide for a pilot she wrote and starred in. The final series "Under the Cover" would also feature both her talents as a writer and as an actress. The original pilot was shown on Much Music and acquired for distribution by Cineflix. Wolski's other writing accomplishments include a Leo-Award winning music video concept in which she also played a pixie ("Walk the Talk" for Sean Hogan) and an award-winning Bravo!FACT for artist Wyckham Porteous: again, Wolski both wrote the concept and played a leading role in the story line.
Wolski's striking features are often compared to those of a young Uma Thurman, and her natural energy is likened to Cameron Diaz: the tall gamine's physique is deceiving to some degree since Wolski was part of a national volleyball recruit camp for the Olympic Games and enjoys a variety of sports, horse riding and film-related weapons use.
She plays classical piano and speaks Polish, French and English. Since switching to a serious pursuit of a film career in 2001, Wolski has guest starred on almost every series on the West Coast Vancouver film scene including Under the Cover which she wrote and starred in. Wolski travelled to Mozambique by invitation of director Ed Zwick to visit the set of "Blood Diamond": she was also a guest at the Los Angeles premiere in December. Wolski actively supports actors working for social and environmental change: she is a member of Hollywood Hill, drives a VW Beetle and hopes to help promote clean diamonds as an alternative for her fellow actresses for glamorous events. She is also a big fan of animal & dog causes - her childhood "brother" was a large German Shepherd/Wolf cross called "Nero".
In 2009, Wolski appeared with Jason Statham in an Audi advertisement that debuted during Super Bowl XLIII and has been cast in Demian Lichtenstein's film "Relentless."

Alicia Nicole Webb (born May 4, 1979) is an American professional wrestling valet. She is perhaps best known for her appearances with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) from 1998 - 1999 as Ryan Shamrock
Professional wrestling career
World Wrestling Federation
In January 1999, Alicia debuted on Raw as "Ryan Shamrock", the on-screen sister of Ken Shamrock although they were not brother and sister in real life. On the January 11 episode of Raw, Val Venis flirted with her at ringside before his match. Ken Shamrock ran out and attacked Venis, yelling at him not to talk to his sister. After giving Venis a beating, Billy Gunn appeared at the ring and mooned Ryan. Ken then went after Gunn, challenging him to a Intercontinental title match at the Royal Rumble. In February 1999, Ryan Shamrock was officially introduced to the viewers by Val Venis, although she had been seen in the audience and with Val before, she had not entered the ring with him until that night. Ryan was supposed to do an interview, but Venis started the interview with Kevin Kelly. Ryan was never interviewed because Venis was attacked by Ken Shamrock. Venis escaped the attack, grabbed Ryan, and made a get-away while Ken was otherwise occupied. On the April 5 edition of Raw, The Undertaker and his disciples decided to sacrifice Ryan Shamrock. The next week, Ryan was found by Mick Foley in the boiler room. Soon after, Ryan left the WWF. Ken Shamrock would leave the WWF in November 1999.
Having disappeared from the WWF for over a month, Ryan returned on an edition of WWF Heat, distracting Droz during a tag team match, causing a loss against The Brood. Ryan then joined the Pretty Mean Sisters (PMS) stable with Terri Runnels and Jacqueline. After being with PMS for three months, Webb was released from the WWF in July 1999. She won her first match against the Blue Meanie in 1999 with a rollup.
World Championship Wrestling
Four months later during November 1999, Internet rumors surfaced stating that Webb had signed a one year deal with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) worth $60,000. They turned out to be true as Webb debuted in WCW on their Nitro show as "Symphony", the valet of The Maestro. After managing the Maestro for five months, the Maestro was released from WCW. In August 2000, Webb was released from WCW.
Independent circuit
She wrestled on the independent circuit against wrestlers such as Nicole Bass, Kara Slice, and Taylor Matheny as well as managing Ken Shamrock.
Total Nonstop Action Wrestling
She was then hired as a TNA Knockout by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). She worked for TNA briefly as "Aleesha", scouting wrestlers on the stage ramps, but she and Shamrock left after a couple of shows.
Asistencia Asesoría y Administración
As of May 5, 2007, she has been working with the Mexican promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) while managing X-Pac.
Personal life
Alicia lost the custody of her son to her ex-boyfriend.
As of now, Alicia is Buddhist.

Since then, she has starred in the series The Big Time and The Court, opposite Sally Field and Craig Bierko, as well as the law drama Kevin Hill. She has also had recurring roles in ER and Firefly. She guest-starred in episodes of Angel, Miss Match, Tru Calling, Presidio Med, Without a Trace, and Las Vegas. Hendricks also starred opposite Kip Pardue in South of Pico. Hendricks has appeared in three episodes of the NBC TV show Life in the role of Olivia, detective Charlie Crews' soon-to-be stepmother and Ted Earley's love interest. This is a recurring role.
However, her best-known role is that of Joan Holloway on the Emmy- and Golden Globe- winning AMC series Mad Men. The show centers on the macho, booze-soaked world of advertising in New York City in the early 1960s. Hendricks' character is the curvaceous office manager of Sterling Cooper, providing dubious mentoring to a group of women who must deal with the come-ons and callousness of professional advertising executives. Mad Men premiered on July 19, 2007 and wrapped its second season in October 2008.
As of summer 2008, she is dating fellow actor Geoffrey Arend. She is now engaged to him. A wedding date has not been set.
Although known as a redhead, Hendricks is a natural blonde having dyed her hair since she was 10 years old.

In 2007, it was nominated for the award of Best British Album at the BRIT Awards and for Best New Artist at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. A second album entitled It's Not Me, It's You will be released in the UK and United States in February 2009.
Allen's non-career activities have been the subject of extensive press coverage in both in the tabloid and mainstream media. In 2006 and 2007 Allen made comments critical of other musicians. 2008 saw public incidents that were described as rude, embarrassing or alcohol-fuelled. Allen used her MySpace blog to criticize press coverage and defend and criticize her own behaviour.
Childhood and discovery
Allen was born in Hammersmith, west London, daughter of Welsh-born comedian Keith Allen and English film producer Alison Owen. She and her family eventually settled in the North London borough of Islington. She has an older sister, Sarah; a younger brother, Alfie Owen-Allen (who was the subject of her song "Alfie"); and a younger sister Rebecca. She also has a number of half-siblings. Lily Allen lived for a while with comedian Harry Enfield while her mother dated him. She is the god-daughter of Wild Colonials vocalist Angela McCluskey and is also the god-daughter of late Clash singer.
In 1988, at the age of 3, Allen appeared on The Comic Strip Presents... episode "The Yob", which her father had co-written. When Allen was four years old, her father left the family. Allen claims to have grown up with her mother in a working class environment, living in a council house environment for most of her childhood. This seems at odds with the fact that she attended some of the UK's costliest public schools; Allen attended 13 schools in all, including Prince Charles's junior alma mater, Hill House School, Millfield and Bedales School,[8] and was expelled from several of them for drinking, and smoking.
Allen told Loveline that at age 11 she was singing an Oasis tune in the schoolyard when a teacher overheard her and told her she had talent and suggested she do something with it. She took singing lessons with the teacher. She sang at a school play and claimed that the audience was brought to tears at the sight of a troubled young girl doing something good. At that point Allen said she knew that music was something she needed to do either as a lifelong vocation or to get it out of her system. Allen played piano in grade 5 and in grade 8 she sang, played violin, guitar, and trumpet as well as being a member of a chamber choir. Her first solo was Bleak Midwinter. According to The Sunday Times the only school that seemed to have a positive impact on her was Cavendish an all-girl Catholic school located in Camden Town. At Cavandish Allen played a boy in a production of The Railway Children and sang Baby Mine in Dumbo.
At the age of 17 Allen became a member of the Groucho Club and in her free time, she listened to artists such as The Specials, T.Rex, and Happy Mondays.
Allen made an appearance as a lady-in-waiting in the 1998 film Elizabeth, co-produced by her mother, Alison Owen. She dropped out of school at age fifteen, not wanting to "spend a third of her life preparing to work for the next third of her life, to set herself up with a pension for the next third of her life." After her family went to Ibiza on holiday Allen told her mother that she was staying with friends but remained in Sant Antoni de Portmany instead. She earned money by working at a Plastic Fantastic record store and dealing in ecstasy.
The late Clash guitarist Joe Strummer is referred to as Allen's godfather. While this is not literally true Strummer was close to and mentored Allen.
Music career
Record label interest
Allen met her first manager, George Lamb, in Ibiza when he saved her from several assailants and sent her home. Allen was rejected by several labels, which she attributed to her drinking and being the daughter of Keith Allen. Lily eventually used her father's connections to get signed to London Records a part of the Warner Music in 2002. When the executive who had signed her left, the label lost interest and she left without releasing the folk songs many of whom were written by her father.
Allen studied horticulture with the intent of becoming a florist, but changed her mind and returned to music. She began writing songs, and her manager introduced her to production duo Future Cut in 2004. They worked in a small studio in the basement of an office building. In 2005 Allen was signed to Regal Records; they gave her £25,000 to produce an album, though they were unable to provide much support for it due to their preoccupation with other releases such as Coldplay's X&Y and Gorillaz' Demon Days.
Popularity on MySpace
Allen created an account on MySpace and began posting demos in November 2005. The demos attracted thousands of listeners, and 500 limited edition 7" vinyl singles of "LDN" were rush-released, reselling for as much as £40. Allen also produced two mixtapes — My First Mixtape and My Second Mixtape — to promote her work: they included tracks by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Dizzee Rascal, and Ludacris. As she accumulated tens of thousands of MySpace friends, The Observer Music Monthly (OMM), a magazine published in The Observer, took interest. Few people outside of her label's A&R department knew who she was, so the label was slow in responding to publications wanting to report about her.
In March 2006, OMM included an article about Allen's success through MySpace, and she received her first major mainstream coverage appearing in the magazine's cover story two months later. The success of her songs convinced her label to allow her more creative control over the album and to use some of the songs that she had written instead of attempts to work with mainstream producers. Allen decided to work with producers Greg Kurstin and Mark Ronson, finishing the rest of the album in two weeks.
The social networking site was the primary hub for messages of support and condolence following her January 2008 miscarriage. Allen received a 2008 NME Award nomination for the category of "Best Band Blog". As of 25 April, 2008 Allen's songs have been downloaded from her MySpace page 19 million times. She currently has 474863 friends on her MySpace page.
As of December 2008 Allen had 462,159 MySpace friends making her the fifth most popular musical act of the year according to the social networking site.
Alright, Still
Allen's debut album, Alright, Still, was released as a limited-edition 12" vinyl in the UK on 3 July 2006; the full CD release followed in the UK and the rest of Europe on 17 July 2006. The album features between 11 and 14 tracks (depending on the copy of the CD), most of which were previewed on her MySpace page, including the single Smile (the first song she ever wrote with Future Cut), "LDN", "Knock 'Em Out", and "Alfie". "Friday Night", co-written with Jonny Bull, is also included, alongside "Littlest Things", produced by Mark Ronson which among other works earned Ronson a "Producer of the Year - Non Classical" 2008 Grammy Award. The album was released on 30 January 2007 in the United States, landing at the #20 position on the Billboard Album Charts. Allen won a 2008 BMI songwriting award for Smile.
In September 2006, Smile was made available on the United States version of Apple Inc.'s iTunes Store. By December 2006, her music video for Smile had been played on various music channels as well as the song getting a little airplay. She also did several promotional ads for MTV as their Discover and Download artist of the month for January 2007.
On the week ending on 28 January 2007, British artists made chart history taking all Top 10 places in the Official UK Albums chart for the first time since the chart was established in 1956, according to British record labels trade association the BPI, the album Alright, Still was number nine that week.
Entertainment Weekly named Alright, Still as one of the top 10 albums of 2006 despite the fact that it had not yet been released in the U.S. The album was released in the United States on 30 January 2007, with Smile serviced to radio in January as the first single. The U.S. version contains three additional tracks: "Nan, You're A Window Shopper", "Blank Expression" (on the iTunes version) and a new remix of Smile by Mark Ronson.
On 5 March 2007 "Alfie" was released. It reached #15 in the UK Singles-Chart. Upon hearing this song, her brother Alfie threw her laptop out of a window in revenge. She sang on the Mark Ronson-produced Kaiser Chiefs song "Oh My God".
By January 2009 the album had sold 960,000 copies in the United Kingdom and 520,000 copies in the United States.
Allen cringes when she listens to this album because it reminds her that she was "sort of over-excitable teenager who desperately wanted attention." when she wrote it
It's Not Me, It's You
In April 2008 Allen said she was heading in a "new direction". She posted two new song demos on her MySpace page and plans to release a mixtape shortly to give her fans an idea of what the new direction is. Allen said the new direction was undertaken because "I did a retro thing last time, And since I did that, a lot of other people did it too. I wanted to separate myself from the group and move forward". That is the reason why Allen did not use Mark Ronson for It's Not Me, It's You.
Allen has posted on her MySpace page a partial clip of a song that was eventually entitled "Fuck You" which is on the album. The song was originally written about The British National Party but ended up being about George W. Bush.
As of 19 August there has been between 250,000 and one million plays for each song from the album that she has made available to listen to on her MySpace page.
The album is scheduled for release on 9 February 2009 in the United Kingdom and the following day in the United States. "The Fear", the first single from album will was released digitally on 9 December, 2008 and released to CD on 26 January, 2009. It was expected to debut at number one. The video for the single was released 4 December. Three weeks before its release the single was in top 20 on Nielsen Music Control's U.K. Radio Airplay. In the United States on 12 January the single was scheduled to be "worked" to Triple A Radio formats then Top 40. The songs is based on Allen’s fear that the world will become a sterile place where everything is sponsored. The single is described as an electropop track that discusses celebrity culture.
At the urging of her record company Allen tried unsuccessfully to create the album with several writers and producers. Allen eventually returned to Greg Kurstin who had written three songs for Alright, Still. The album was produced by Kurstin at Eagle Rock Studios in Los Angeles. before returning to Kus Allen co-wrote the songs for the album with Kurstin at who played piano on it. This is a change from her earlier work in which she just wrote lyrics for finished tracks. Allen released a statement saying "We decided to try and make bigger sounding, more ethereal songs, real songs,","I wanted to work with one person from start to finish to make it one body of work. I wanted it to feel like it had some sort of integrity. I think I've grown up a bit as a person and I hope it reflects that."
Other songs on the album include "He Wasn't There" a letter to her father one of three songs about immediate family members. "Him" is about God and includes her favourite line on the record: "Do you think he's ever been suicidal?/ His favourite band is Creedence Clearwater Revival". "Not Fair" a humorous song about a lazy lover that includes the lyrics "feeling pretty damn hard done by, I spent ages giving head". Allen has played the song to the person in question and he did not realize the song was about him. "22" was written about a specific person but ended up as a more general song about females who rely on their looks and find at age 30 according to Allen “it hits them that they're not doing anything with their lives and it's too late". "Who'd of Known" is a rip off of the Take That song "Shine". Take That allowed Allen to use the song on the album but did not accept an offer to sing with and do a video with Allen. Chinese references takeout food.
On 23 October Allen released "Everyones At It" the first track from the album for download on her MySpace page. The song appears to be a commentary on the drug culture and is expected to cause controversy. It includes the lyrics " "I'm not trying to say that I'm smelling of roses but when will we tire of putting shit up our noses","It's meant to be fun and this just doesn't feel right","So you've got a prescription, and that makes it legal. I find those excuses overwhelmingly feeble… The kids are in danger, they're all getting hurt. From what I can see, everyone's at it.".
An online game Escape the Fear has been created by Matmi as part of the viral marketing campaign targeted at people unaware of Allen or the album. Players playing the role of Allen must go through a series of obstacles standing in the way of Allen's dreams.
Music business issues
Since the release of her first album her record company EMI was taken over by Terra Firma. and her management company Empire Artist Management has been replaced by Twenty-First Artists although her core team has remained in place. It's Not Me, It's You was first scheduled for an early 2008 release but her miscarriage and creative issues delayed the release date to the fall. During the fall of 2008 EMI was undergoing layoffs and cost cutting. This lead to situation where according Allen "Everyone is terrified of losing their jobs. So no one wants to make decisions or give you their opinion in case it comes back on them. As an artist, that really is terrifying." Due to this negative environment a decision with Allen's full approval was made to move the albums release to its current February 2009 date."
Allen receives most of her music related income from touring and spin off deals. She receives no income from sales.
Collaborations
Allen provided backing vocals on the Basement Jaxx song "Lights Go Down" (from Crazy Itch Radio) and appears on tracks on Robbie Williams's latest album, Rudebox on the Manu Chao-cover "Bongo Bong and Je Ne T'Aime Plus" (produced by Mark Ronson) and also on "Keep On". She also provides vocals on "Rawhide" by Jamie T and "Wanna Be" by Dizzee Rascal. She had a duet with rapper Dizzee Rascal on the song "Wanna Be" that appeared on Rascal's May 2007 Maths + English album. Rapper Common has also collaborated with Allen.
On 30 June 2008 Allen and Klaxons singer Jamie Reynolds announced they were working on a new song and had completed a cover of Joe Jackson's "Steppin Out".
Allen and New Young Pony Club provided backing vocals to the song "Never Miss a Beat" that appears on the Kaiser Chiefs' album Off With Their Heads. The song was released as a single on 6 October, 2008. Allen's voice on the song was described as unrecognizable due to Mark Ronson's production. On 12 October the song entered the UK Singles charts at number 5. The album was released on the 13 October. Allen was expected to provide vocals for the track "Always Happens like That".
Other music
Allen wrote a song for the 2008 Shockwaves Awards entitled "From Barry to Billericay" about comedian James Corden.
Allen has contributed the song "She's So Lovely and Naive" for the soundtrack of the 2008 British comedy film Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.
Allen presented to members of Squeeze their Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement Award. Glenn Tilbrook later remarked that he really like Allen's cover of Up the Junction.
On 12 December 2008 Mark Ronson debuted Allen's cover version of Britney Spears's song Womanizer on his radio show. Allen in her MySpace blog said Ronson was supposed to "talk all over it so it wouldn't get ripped". Instead Ronson played the song in its entirety and the cover within days had been heard worldwide causing Allen to get into "serious trouble" with her label.
Touring
In 2007, she played the newly launched Park Stage at the Glastonbury Festival, replacing M.I.A who had cancelled. Saying "it's big shoes to fill, and we're doing it acoustically so it might sound a bit funny" she ended her set singing a cover of Blondie's "Heart of Glass." Allen describes this performence as the highlight of the 2006-2008 period In concert, Allen performed a parody of 50 Cent's "Window Shopper", called "Nan, You're a Window Shopper", which was commercially released as a B-side to "LDN", because approval was not given in time for the Alright, Still release. Nonetheless, the song appears on the U.S. version of Alright, Still.
Allen performed to positive reviews when Irving Plaza was rechristened as The Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza on 11 April 2007.
Allen canceled a scheduled appearance at the 2008 Isle of Wight Festival telling festival promoter John Giddings the reason for the cancellation was that her album was behind schedule. Giddings said that the reason given was not acceptable and possibly a lie. Giddings decided not to sue her.
On 29 June 2008 Allen performed at the Glastonbury Festival alongside producer Mark Ronson. An emotional Allen dedicated her performance of "Littlest Things" to her grandmother who died the night before. On 3 July in a surprise appearance with Ronson at the Wireless Festival Allen again appeared with Ronson to perform "Littlest Things" and "Oh My God". She forgot some song lyrics.
The singers first concert to promote the new album is planned for the 28 January, 2009 at Koko in London. This would be the the first London gig in 18 months. In March Allen will embark on a 9 date tour of Great Britain and Ireland. A 20 date tour of United States is scheduled to begin 1 April. La Roux is scheduled to be the supporting act.
Television and film
Allen signed a one series contract to present her own BBC Three TV show entitled Lily Allen and Friends based on the social networking phenomenon that helped to launch her music career. The singer asked her MySpace friends to suggest the name for the show. The guests on the first show that aired in February 2008 were Cuba Gooding Junior and David Mitchell, and later guests included Mark Ronson, Joanna Page, James Corden, Lauren Laverne, Roisin Murphy, Louis Walsh, and Danny Dyer. The show received a 2% share of the total multi-channel audience share despite a high-profile nationwide marketing campaign. Her third show received a 2.7% share. Allen was quoted in a British tabloid as rating the show "probably five out of 10” and said "I made a lot of money out of it".
On 1 April 2008 citing Allen's rapid development as a TV host and her popularity among its target audience BBC Three announced it was renewing Lily Allen and Friends for a second season. On 12 January 2009 BBC Three chairman Danny Cohen said that the show will not air in the Spring of 2009 as originally scheduled because of music commitments. Cohen noted ""She is on the record as doing a second series and we are looking forward to having her back but we don't know at the moment."
The BBC was criticized by several teacher unions for a video shown on “Lily Allen and Friends” that apparently showed a student running up from behind and pulling down his teachers trousers. The unions said broadcasting this clip was irresponsible and greatly added to the teacher's embarrassment. While introducing the clip Allen called it kegging and said “It's very childish, but very funny”.
Performances
Allen performed for Jools Holland's Hootenanny his 2008 New Years Eve Show.
Personal life
In a May 2007 MySpace blog Allen wrote that she was "fat, ugly and shitter than Winehouse". While there were many replies of support she was publicly called ugly which led to her feeling bad which lasted several hours.
In her blog, Allen blamed the paparazzi for smashing the windows of her car. She wrote that her friend was cut when she sat in the car and that she was angered and upset by what she called a scary situation.
Allen's bedroom is decorated with paintings by Damien Hirst and Paul Simonon who was a member of the iconic punk rock group The Clash.
On 23 May, 2008 in her MySpace blog Allen responded to press reporting about her personal life. She denied specific reports about her relationships and behaviour as well as negative characterizations of her personality. She confirmed she likes to swim topless and drink saying this is not embarrassing behaviour for a 23 year old. She said the reporting was sexist and that sometimes she wonders if the journalists are still living in the 1950s.
A man described as a close friend of Allen's and another male were allegedly kidnapped in August 2008 for extortion and held for a week before being rescued by Metropolitan Police. Three men pleaded not guilty to various charges related to the incident on 27 November. Allen thanked the police and gave details of the plot at the 2008 GQ Awards. Former Scotland Yard chief John O'Connor called Allen's releasing the details of the alleged plot "outrageous" saying it may jeopardise the case. The friend involved is also alleged to be upset with Allen's revelations.
Allen was cautioned for common assault in March 2007 after an altercation with the paparazzi. A blown up framed copy of the caution is hung in her residence. The following August Allen was detained at Los Angeles International Airport for five hours and questioned over the incident. At that time her U.S. visa was revoked. On 8 October, 2008 her visa was reinstated.
Physical and mental health
Allen was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease as an infant. According to the singers mother the disease caused Allen to be in constant pain and caused breathing troubles. Her heartbeat was at 180 beats per minute at rest.
As a teenager, Allen spent four weeks at The Priory clinic under 24 hour watch after the singer, distraught over a breakup with her first boyfriend for whom the song Smile was written about, took an overdose and tried to cut her wrists.
In November 2007, the singer revealed that she has been diagnosed with a heart murmur. The singer sparked concern when she shed 19lbs (8.6kg) and dropped from a UK size 12 to a size eight in just six weeks. Allen explained the weight loss on cutting back on the "crap" she eats and going to the gym three times a week to do a "hardcore routine" as a reaction to the diagnosis.
On the 16 January, 2008 she suffered a miscarriage after returning from holiday with the father, Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers. The child would have been the first for both parties. Allen said that her miscarriage was "toughest thing I've had to go through in my life" and that it put her in a "very, very dark place". Following the miscarriage Allen spent three weeks in a psychiatric clinic. Allen was quoted as saying that attending counseling sessions with a therapist has been very helpful for her. While she was in the clinic Allen lost her position as a jurist for the Orange Prize for Fiction. Although the organization said she resigned Allen claims she was fired for not attending meetings.
Allen in January 2009 told Billboard Magazine "As soon as I feel remotely depressed I'm checked into a clinic and having intensive therapy".
Allen confirmed she has used hypnosis to try to lose weight.
Relationships
Allen dated Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers from September 2007 until early 2008. They broke up shortly after Allen suffered her miscarriage.
Allen claims her romantic and sexual life has been inhibited by her fame. If she has someone over to her residence she is paranoid about exiting the residence with him because after being photographed by the paparazzi she has to “justify” a relationship that is not yet understood. When Allen meets a person who is not in show business she wonders "Are they going to walk out of here and be straight on their phone?". Another fear is that the other party is in the relationship for the purpose of getting his picture taken with Allen.
In December 2008 Allen was quoted in a British tabloid as saying "What I really want out of my life is to have children". Allen was also quoted as saying despite enjoying her music career she "certainly wouldn’t want" to mix her music career and motherhood.
Allen claimed a long term estrangement from her older sister ended when the sister realized the song Back To The Start from It's Not Me, It's You was about her. Allen was jealous of her older sister.
According to The Sunday Times Allen is surrounded by and socializes with people who tend to be are twice her age a trait she has enjoyed since childhood.
Drug and alcohol use
Allen has told various interviewers that as a teenager she experimented with drugs, used ecstasy at age 14,. and is a former cocaine user. In August 2008 Allen said "I'm not gonna say I'm never gonna do drugs again. I just know I'm not a good person on drugs".
Allen was a smoker before she gave up the habit during her pregnancy.
In November of 2008 in reaction to attacks on her following a incident at the GQ Awards Allen again stopped using alcohol at the suggestion of her therapist so as not "to give people any more ammunition to make me feel silly". As of 7 December, 2008 Allen had not consumed alcohol since September of that year.
Religion
Allen who as a child went to Catholic School was quoted as saying that she did not "like Christianity much” because of its stances opposing homosexuality, adultery, and drug usage. She noted that "All my mum’s friends were gay, my dad was having affairs and there were drugs in the house when I was a kid, so it was a bit cruel.”
Fashion activities
In May 2007 Allen launched a line of dresses, shoes, and accessories entitled ‘’Lily Loves’’
Allen is reported to enjoy a "special relationship" with Chanel fashion house that is said to include borrowing clothes and jewelery from them and being flown in to sit in the front row of their shows.
Allen won the 2008 Glamour Woman of the Year Awards "Editors Special Award". Allen was nominated for a Highstreet Fashion Award in the category of "Best Dressed Celebrity". In a readers poll done for the weekly British style magazine Look Allen was named the ninth best style role model.
Allen has been described by the United Kingdom edition of Elle Magazine as a person who is not overly trendy in her fashion choices.
Public persona
Due to her outspokenness, Allen has been the subject of many controversies. Disparaging remarks about musicians Luke Pritchard of The Kooks, Bob Geldof, Cheryl Cole of Girls Aloud, Amy Winehouse,Kylie Minogue and Katy Perry have all garnered minor amounts of press attention. She later expressed that making fun of other pop stars were a result of lack of confidence saying "I felt like 'Oh God, I'm short, fat, ugly and I hate all these people who flaunt their beauty'." Photos of her drunk and topless in the Cannes Film Festival were also widely covered in the press. Her appearance at the 2008 Glamour Awards of the Year also generated criticism, as she showed up intoxicated with a dress depicting decapitated Bambi figures, and had an on-stage, expletively-laced exchange with Elton John. Allen has shown her third nipple on television. Allen feels like she has become a drunk character in a comic. “I wish my comic character wasn't that, but there's nothing can I do”.
The singers father Keith Allen has told Allen that "she needs to know when to fucking shut up."
Social activism
Lily Allen has taken an interest in environmental and social concerns. Allen has been credited with helping inspire a parliamentary rebellion against Prime Minister Gordon Brown when she wrote to all members of Parliament asking them to back an amendment to an energy bill. She records at Studio A which is currently the only solar powered studio in Europe.
Allen has been nominated with nine others for the title of Greenest Star in Playhouse for Disney Playhouse's inaugural Playing for the Planet Awards.

She ranked "Number One Reason to Love '07" and "Hottest Woman of Pop/R&B." in Blender magazine. Allen was also rated number 10 on BBC Three's list of Most Annoying People of 2006. Allen was voted fourth coolest celebrity in a poll taken of 20,000 teenagers by the social networking website Bebo that was released in December 2008.
Rapper Example has recorded a new version of Smile called "Vile", which is an answer song written from the perspective of the ex-boyfriend (although he was never actually Allen's boyfriend). Both songs were then parodied by Chris Moyles on his Radio 1 breakfast show in a song called "Piles". "LDN" has spawned an answer song by rapper Sway DaSafo and a remix by UK grime artist JME.
Evening Standard columnist Nick Cutis wrote that "Lily Allen and Madonna have arguably done more for female equality with their "unladylike" swearing in public than with their singing careers."
Allen in an interview with Word Magazine said the press reports only the negative aspects of drug use saying "I know lots of people that take cocaine three nights a week and get up and go to work everyday, no problem at all." British Shadow Home Secretary Dominic Grieve called Allen's comments naive saying "There is no doubt that drugs fuel crime and wreck lives." David Haynes head of the British National Drug Prevention Alliance said Allen's remarks cause harm to young people by affecting an already major drug culture. Her spokesperson responding to the criticism said that Allen does not condone drug use and never said in the interview that she condones drug use or thinks it is a good thing. The spokesperson said Allen sympathizes with those affected by drugs and notes when Allen spots signs of people on drugs it terrifies her.
Allen is the subject of the February 2009 Spin Magazine cover story.

Caitlin made a career breakthrough in September 2003 when she was cast in the children's TV series 'The Sleepover Club', based upon the popular book series by Rose Impey. The series chronicled the adventures of a group of pre-teen friends, one of whom was played by Eliza Taylor-Cotter, Caitlin's future Neighbours co-star. Caitlin took upon the role of Francesca 'Frankie' Thomas, the self-appointed leader of the club, whose bossiness could cause friction, but who stood by her friends when the occasion arose. The show was a big success and ran for twenty-six episodes.
Neighbours
After a year studying and attending auditions, she sufficiently impressed Neighbours casting director Jan Russ to be awarded the role of Rachel Kinski, middle child of the troubled Kinski clan. Caitlin won the part in April 2005, and her first episode was aired on the 18th August of that year. As Rachel, Caitlin has had a range of storylines ranging from parental bereavement to first love. Acting alongside Matthew Werkmeister (Zeke Kinski) and Dichen Lachman (Katya Kinski), Caitlin imbued Rachel with an initial naivety. However, as Rachel befriended her fellow Ramsay Street residents, she gradually came out of her shell, enough to fall in love with the popular character Stingray (Ben Nicholas).
Caitlin also made a brief return to the character of Frankie, in the second series of The Sleepover Club in 2006. She also appeared in the Channel 10 special Australia's Brainiest Neighbour, finishing second overall.
Caitlin was nominated for 'Fave TV Star' in the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards 2007, but lost out to Big Brother Australia 2004 contestant, Bree Amer.
On Monday 19 May 2008, Stasey sang a duet with fellow Neighbours cast member Dean Geyer (who plays Ty on the show). The song "Unforgettable" was performed at the Erinsborough High School Formal. Unforgettable has now been released on iTunes by popular demand.
On Friday the 19th September 2008, Stasey announced in an interview to the Herald Sun that she would be leaving Neighbours in the coming weeks, primarily so that she can concentrate on her end of year VCE exams. The producers have stated that her character will not be 'killed-off', allowing Stasey the chance to return to Neighbours next year, after her exams are over. The character Rachel Kinski will continue to be in scenes until early March 2009.
"I want to know that when I finish my exams and get my score, it is representative of my abilities," Stasey told the Herald Sun. "My exams start in November and I want to be able to give them my full concentration."
Stasey left school after landing the part of Rachel but continued to study on a distance education programme. She has not yet decided whether she will continue with her current arrangement or return to regular classes.
Speaking about the other benefits of leaving the programme, she added: "I can't wait to go out at night and catch up with my friends whenever I want to. It seems weird to think that I will have time to do all of that, but it is exciting as well."
In 2008 she is appearing in the Christmas pantomime Snow White at Norwich Theatre Royal, which started in the beginning of December and is due to finish 16 January 2009. Stasey is starring alongside Liza Goddard as Fairy Snowdrop, Richard Gauntlett as Nurse Nellie, Nick Aldis (TV's The Big O) as Igor, and David Hulston as The Prince. It also features an on-screen guest appearance from distant relative Stephen Fry who plays the magic mirror. She is one of the youngest leads that the Norwich Theatre Royal has hosted. Norwich is the city that boasts her favourite football team, known by fans as the "Canaries".
Music
In 2007 Stasey reportedly turned down a recording contract offered to her by Tom Nichols, who did the same for ex-Neighbours star Stephanie McIntosh. About it she said "acting is my main passion and I wanted to concentrate my efforts on that, although most actors have that triple thread of being able to sing, dance and act."
In May 2008 her duet Unforgettable with Dean Geyer was released to the Australian iTunes store and peaked at number 40 on the ARIA Digital Tracks chart.
