Jennifer Ellison
AKA Jennifer Lesley Ellison

Born 30 May 1983
Location Liverpool, England
Occupation Actress, singer, model
Height 5' 7"
Spouse(s) Robbie Tickle (m. 2009 - present)
Jennifer Lesley Ellison (born 30 May 1983) is an English actress, glamour model, television personality, dancer and singer. Ellison is perhaps best known for playing Emily Shadwick in the television soap opera Brookside until 2003 and has recently made appearances in many different television shows, and as Meg Giry in the 2004 film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera.
Early life
Ellison was born and raised in Liverpool. Her parents Kevin May and Jane split in 1986. She has a younger half-sister Jemma, and stepfather Peter. She is estranged from her father.
Career
Modeling and magazine appearances
Ellison is currently featured in Maxim magazine's Girls of Maxim gallery. She has appeared regularly in almost all of the mainstream British "lads' magazines" over the last eight years, though her first appearance was in 1999 in a sexually suggestive shoot for FHM at the age of 16, under the heading "Jailbait". Recently, Ellison took over a contract with lingerie giant Ultimo for its "Young Attitude" line from fellow model Jordan barely two months after she had been signed on. Though Ultimo boss Michelle Mone had chosen Jordan for being "sexy, fun and outgoing," she later changed her mind, stating, "Jordan was just the wrong choice for [us]. Jennifer is a far better option and far classier." In 2005 Ellison was voted "world's sexiest blonde" by readers of the UK magazine Nuts, beating model Victoria Silvstedt, who came second, and pop superstar Britney Spears, who was voted third. Ellison is also a regular in the yearly FHM "100 Sexiest Women in the World" feature. She first appeared in 2003 at number 60; then at number 29 in 2004; by 2005 she was at number 17; in 2006 she was number 31; in 2007, she fell to number 87; and in 2008 she did not feature. Her drop down the list over the last two years is largely attributable to her taking a break from modeling from late 2006 to early 2008. However, she has since returned to modeling. She won the Rear of the Year award in 2008.
Dance
Ellison studied dance from the age of three, first at a dance school in Liverpool, then later at the Elizabeth Hill School of Dancing in St. Helens, Merseyside. She has achieved examination passes with the Royal Academy of Dance and appears on the RAD's instructional video for the Intermediate Foundation syllabus. She has also taken examinations with the International Dance Teachers Association and won Ballet and Modern Dance titles at the IDTA Theatre Dance Championships in 1996 and 1997. Choosing to pursue a professional career in dance, she successfully auditioned for the Royal Ballet Lower School, but was asked to leave after two years due to her large bust, which ruined her chances for classical ballet.
In 2006, Ellison released Jennifer Ellison's West End Workout, a fitness DVD which combined her love of dance with exercise routines.
In 2007 Ellison was a judge in the British reality TV competition Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life.
She is a winner of the Carl Alan Award for outstanding services to dance, an industry award voted for by dance professionals.
Theatre
Ellison had a run in the London West End theatre version of the musical Chicago in 2004 at the Adelphi Theatre, and returned from 10 July to 9 August 2006 again playing the leading role of "Roxie Hart", this time at the Cambridge Theatre. Ellison was actually supposed to finish on 12 August, but was forced to pull out three days early due to a knee injury. Ellison subsequently toured England in Chicago from 25 September 2006 until 5 May 2007, appearing in Birmingham, Manchester, Sunderland (she switched on the Christmas lights there), Nottingham, Southampton, Stoke-on-Trent, Liverpool and Edinburgh.
On 1 October 2007, Ellison joined the cast of a revival of Boeing Boeing at the Comedy Theatre, London, playing the part of Gloria, an American TWA air stewardess.
On 5 December 2007, she featured in a 10th Anniversary Gala performance of Chicago at the Cambridge Theatre alongside a galaxy of stars and on 16 December 2007, she played "Angel" in Liverpool Nativity, a contemporary retelling of the Christmas story for BBC Three which was performed live from the streets of the City.
Ellison featured in the Liverpool Empire Theatre's Christmas Pantomime Cinderella for 2008 opposite Cilla Black and Les Dennis.
She also played Beth in Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds at the major arenas of the UK in June 2009.
Film
Ellison made her international movie debut as Meg Giry in the 2004 film version of The Phantom of the Opera. In spite of this being her debut in a Hollywood movie, Ellison has yet to make another American film. She also starred in the British horror movie The Cottage, which was released in the UK on 14 March 2008.
It was announced in early 2009 that Ellison has been cast in the Barbara Windsor type role in the upcoming Carry On relaunch Carry On Bananas.
Music
Ellison sang two pop rock singles. Her first single was "Baby I Don't Care", released in June 2003, which reached number six in the charts. The song was originally released by Transvision Vamp in 1989. The following year in July, after being brought back into the public eye after winning Hell's Kitchen, Ellison released her second single, "Bye Bye Boy" - a song from the Japanese singer Nanase Aikawa- which reached number 13 in the UK charts.
Television
In 2003, Ellison appeared in the travel documentary Jennifer Ellison does Thailand and in 2004 she appeared on the reality television show Hell's Kitchen, which she then went on to win. In 2005, she appeared on the celebrity challenge show With a Little Help From My Friends for ITV.
In spring 2007 Ellison appeared in the BBC reality TV show The Verdict, based on a fictional courtroom, alongside the likes of Jeffrey Archer and Sara Payne.
In 2007, she appeared as a judge on Dirty Dancing - Time of your Life a United States based reality television show for the Living TV network.
In December 2007 Ellison began appearing as a guest panellist on the ITV daytime show Loose Women. Ellison has also acted in episodes of the British television series The Brief, Hotel Babylon, New Street Law and The Commander. She now is unoccupiedInsert non-formatted text here
In September 2008 she appeared in a 2 hour long show, called Ghosthunting with Paul O'Grady & Friends, filmed in Sicily, with fellow Liverpudlians Paul O'Grady, Philip Olivier and Natasha Hamilton.

She dated Liverpool businessman Tony Richardson from 2000 until 2007.
She also dated Liverpool F.C. and England footballer Steven Gerrard briefly from 2001 to 2002.
Ellison and boxer Robbie Tickle started dating in May 2008 and got engaged on holiday in the Maldives in October that year. They married in Mauritius on 10 October 2009. On 4 February 2010 at 9.50pm, Ellison gave birth to a baby boy named Bobby.

Fox reprised her role in the 2009 sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Later in 2009, she starred as the titular lead character in the film Jennifer's Body.
Fox is considered a sex symbol and frequently appears in men's magazine "Hot" lists. She was listed #18, #16, and #2 on Maxim magazine's yearly Hot 100 list in 2007, 2008, and 2009 respectively, while FHM readers voted her the "Sexiest Woman in the World" in 2008. She ranked number one on Moviefone's "The 25 Hottest Actors Under 25" in 2008.
In 2004, Fox began dating Brian Austin Green, of Beverly Hills, 90210 fame, after reportedly having met on the set of Hope and Faith. The two have since been in an on-and-off relationship.
Early life
Fox is of Irish, French and Native American ancestry and was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to Darlene Tonachio and Franklin Fox. Fox's parents divorced when she was young and she and her sister were raised by her mother and her stepfather, Tony Tonachio. She said that the two were "very strict" and that she wasn't allowed to have a boyfriend. She lived with her mother until she made enough money to support herself.
Fox began her training in drama and dance at age five, in Kingston, Tennessee. She attended a dance class at the community center there and was involved in Kingston Elementary School's chorus and the Kingston Clippers swim team. At 10 years of age, after moving to St. Petersburg, Florida, Fox continued her training. When she was 13 years old, Fox began modeling after winning several awards at the 1999 American Modeling and Talent Convention in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Fox attended St. Lucie West Centennial High School but tested out of school via correspondence at age 17 in order to move to Los Angeles.
Fox has spoken extensively of her time in education; that in middle school she was bullied and picked on and she ate lunch in the bathroom to avoid being "pelted with ketchup packets". She said that the problem was not her looks, but that she had "always gotten along better with boys" and that "rubbed some people the wrong way". Fox also said of high school that she was never popular and that "everyone hated me, and I was a total outcast, my friends were always guys, I have a very aggressive personality, and girls didn’t like me for that. I’ve had only one great girlfriend my whole life". In the same interview, she mentions that she hated school and has never been "a big believer in formal education" and that "the education I was getting seemed irrelevant. So, I was sort of checked out on that part of it".
Career
At 16, Fox made her acting debut in the 2001 film Holiday in the Sun, as spoiled heiress Brianna Wallace and rival of Alex Stewart (Ashley Olsen). The film was released Direct-to-DVD on November 20, 2001. The following year, Fox landed the lead main role as Ione Starr on the television series Ocean Ave. The series lasted two seasons, from 2002–2003 and Fox appeared in 122 one-hour-long episodes. Also in 2002, she guest-starred on What I Like About You, appearing in the episode "Like a Virgin (Kinda)". She was an uncredited extra in Bad Boys II in 2003. In 2004, Fox guest-starred on Two and a Half Men in the episode "Camel Filters and Pheromones". In the same year, Fox made her film debut in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen co-starring opposite Lindsay Lohan, playing the supporting role of Carla Santi, a rival of Lola (Lindsay Lohan). Again in 2004, Fox was cast in regular role on the ABC sitcom Hope & Faith, in which she portrayed Sydney Shanowski, replacing Nicole Paggi in the role. Fox appeared in 36 episodes from seasons 2 to 3, until the show was cancelled in 2006.
In 2007, Fox won the lead female role of Mikaela Banes in the 2007 live-action film Transformers, based on the toy and cartoon saga of the same name. Fox played the love interest of Shia LaBeouf's character Sam Witwicky. Fox was nominated for an MTV Movie Award in the category of "Breakthrough Performance", and was also nominated for three Teen Choice Awards, in the category of "Choice Movie Actress: Action Adventure", "Choice Movie: Breakout Female", and "Choice Movie: Liplock". Fox has signed on for two more Transformers sequels. In June 2007, Fox was cast in a minor role in How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, starring alongside Jeff Bridges, Simon Pegg and Kirsten Dunst. She portrayed Sophie Maes, a love interest of Sydney Young (Simon Pegg). The film premiered on October 3, 2008, but was considered a box-office failure. In 2008, Fox appeared alongside Rumer Willis as the character Lost in Whore. The film centers around a group of young hopeful teenagers who have come to Hollywood in the hopes of an acting career find that the business is harder than they had ever imagined. The film was released October 20, 2008.
Fox reprised her role as Mikaela Banes in the Transformer sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. There was some controversy surrounding Fox's appearance while filming the sequel of Transformers when Michael Bay, the movie's director, ordered the actress to gain 10 pounds. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen premiered on June 8, 2009 in Tokyo, Japan. The movie was released worldwide on June 24, 2009. Fox had her first lead role playing the title character in Jennifer's Body, written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody. She played Jennifer Check, a mean-girl cheerleader possessed by a demon who begins to feed off the boys in a Minnesota farming town. The film was released on September 18, 2009, and co-stars Amanda Seyfried and Adam Brody.
In April 2009, Fox began filming Jonah Hex, in which she will portray Leila, a gun-wielding beauty and Jonah Hex's (Josh Brolin) love interest. The film, currently in production, is set to be released on June 18, 2010. The movie stars Josh Brolin and Will Arnett, and Fox described her role in the film as being a cameo. In early April, 2009 Fox signed on to star as the lead female role in the up-coming 2011 film The Crossing about a young couple who get caught up in a drug trafficking scheme during their vacation to Mexico. In March 2009, Variety reported that Fox was set to star as the lead role of Aspen Matthews in the film adaption of the comic books Fathom which she will also co-produce with Brian Austin Green. Fathom is currently in pre-production.
Public image
Fox has said during an interview with The Times, on the topic of being a role model that: "It depends on what your idea of a role model is," and continued with, "If your idea of a role model is somebody who’s gonna preach to your kids that sex before marriage is wrong and cursing is wrong and women should be this and be that, then I’m not a role model. But if you want your girls to feel strong and intelligent and be outspoken and fight for what they think is right, then I want to be that type of role model, yeah." Fox said in the same interview, on the topic of being type-cast that: "Getting typecast as what? Attractive? How bad is that?" She feels that it isn't a bad thing to be type-cast in this way and considers it to be flattering. She also believes that it gives her an advantage because people will not expect her to be more than simply attractive and when she does give a good performance, people will be surprised. Fox has shown interest in portraying a character less sexualized than that of Mikaela Banes, whom she portrays in the Transformers film series.
Fox said of being a popular media topic that, though she is not on the same level as Jennifer Aniston, Britney Spears, or Lindsay Lohan, she does find it difficult and that there have been times when people have avoided being around her because they do not want to end up in the media's spotlight. "I need to behave in a way and handle myself in a way that will cause people to take me seriously," she said, "[and] you can be sexy and be intelligent and be taken seriously, or you can be sexy and you can be out at clubs every night and not be [taken seriously]" but that she has not gone "completely insane". Fox also said of going from being "relatively unknown" to her current celebrity status that: "I definitely feel ill-prepared; I mean, I don't know if anyone ever sits back and goes, 'Now is the moment that I think I should be a famous celebrity,' – but I definitely feel it's premature. I mean, I was in one movie that people have seen."
Fox has appeared on the covers of many magazines. In 2007, she appeared in Maxim; in 2008, the list had grown to include Cosmo Girl, Paw Print, Jack (ITALY), FHM (UK), and GQ. In 2009, the list includes, USA Weekend, Esquire, Empire, Maxim, GQ (UK), Entertainment Weekly and ELLE. Fox was ranked #17 on interview magazines Hollywood faces to watch "Future Stars of Tomorrow", ranked #16 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2008 list, named #68 in FHM magazine's "100 Sexiest Women in the World 2006" supplement, ranked #18 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2007 list, she was ranked #1 on Moviefone's 'The 25 Hottest Actors Under 25' in 2008, and was ranked #2 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2009 list in 2009. FHM readers voted her the "Sexiest Woman in the World" in 2008.
In late July 2009, Fox's overexposure in parts of the media caused several men's websites to boycott her. AOL's man-blog Asylum dubbed August 4, 2009 "A Day Without Megan Fox" with the promise that the site would not mention or feature her on this day; they asked other men's sites to copy this stance, and several (such as AskMen.com, Just a Guy Thing, and Banned in Hollywood) complied. "Listen, we love Megan," Eric Rogell of TheBachelorGuy.com told New York Daily News. "She's responsible for driving more eyeballs to our sites — just by getting photographed walking down the street in a white T-shirt — than any other celeb alive. [But] it's time to give another young actress a shot at the attention." In response to this, Fox told magazine Nylon, in a September 2009 interview, that "the media blitz" for Transformers resulted in an over-extension of her welcome in the media. "I was part of a movie that [the studio] wanted to make sure would make $700 million, so they oversaturated the media with their stars," she said. "I don’t want to have people get completely sick of me before I’ve ever even done something legitimate."
On September 11, 2009, an unsigned letter from crew members of Transformers defended Michael Bay against accusations reportedly made by Fox about his on-set behavior, including a comparison with Adolf Hitler. The letter alleges that Fox is unpleasant to work with on set and makes several accusations of ungracious behavior that are at variance with her public persona. Bay defended Fox and has said that he does not "condone" the letter. Anthony Steinhart, a production assistant who worked on the Transformers, has also came out in her defense, stating that he had never "...witnessed Ms Fox being rude or inconsiderate of people’s feelings or the work to be done".
Comparison to Angelina Jolie
Fox has often been compared to actress Angelina Jolie, with the media dubbing her as "next Angelina Jolie". Fox has been compared to Jolie because they each have a "tattoo collection", and status as a "built in sex-symbol". Fox commented that the comparisons indicate a lack of creativity on the part of the media, and are simply due to the dark hair and tattoos that she and Jolie have, and that both have been in action movies. There were several unconfirmed rumors that Fox was to replace Jolie in the next Lara Croft film. Fox also said of the comparisons that: "I am a brunette with tattoos, I curse and I have made mention of sex before. I joked about it which people find outrageous so they want to constantly compare that to her." Fox remarked, "I'm sure she has no idea who I am. But if I were her, I'd be like, 'Who the fuck is this little bullshit brat who was in Transformers that's going to be the next me?' I don't want to meet her. I'd be embarrassed."
Tattoos
Fox has eight known tattoos, including her ex-fiancé's name "Brian" on her lower hip and a picture of Marilyn Monroe's face on her right forearm. Fox also has another tattoo on her right shoulder that reads, "We will all laugh at gilded butterflies" a line adapted from William Shakespeare's play King Lear, a yin and yang tattoo on her left inner wrist, a poem on the left side of her rib cage that reads "there once was a little girl who never knew love until a boy broke her HEART," and a Chinese word for "strength" on her neck. Fox also has a crescent moon overlapping a five pointed star on the inner aspect of her lower leg above her right ankle. This tattoo is the only known colored tattoo that Fox has.
Personal life
Fox has been involved with actor Brian Austin Green since 2004, having first met on the set of Hope & Faith. In 2006, the two got engaged, but said they had not had any marriage plans. It was reported that the couple had ended their relationship in July 2008 and in February 2009; however, Fox and Green both confirmed on both occasions that the two are still in a relationship. On June 15, 2009, at the UK premiere of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Fox stated that she was single; however, she was later seen with Green and the media is reporting that the two are in a relationship again. Green also appeared in the SNL Digital Short "Megan's Roommate" in the Season 35 premiere episode of Saturday Night Live, which Fox hosted.
Fox is good friends with Jennifer Blanc, Kellan Rhude, Jennifer's Body co-star Amanda Seyfried, Michael Biehn and Transformers co-star Shia LaBeouf. She is a fan of comic books, anime, and video games, and has said that her interest in art began at 12 years old, when she watched animated shows during Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network. Fox's favorite artist is Michael Turner whose Fathom comic she describes as a longtime obsession. Fox has two dogs, including a Pomeranian named after Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious. Fox has also openly stated that she supports the legalization of marijuana, saying that she does not consider it a drug and that she would be first in line to buy a pack of joints.
In September 2008, Fox alluded to being bisexual; in an interview with GQ magazine, she said that when she was 18 years old she fell in love with and sought to establish a relationship with a female stripper. She used this experience to illustrate her belief that "all humans are born with the ability to be attracted to both sexes" and additionally showed interest in Olivia Wilde. In May 2009, she confirmed her bisexuality. In the June 2009 issue of ELLE, however, she stated that she somewhat distorted the events of her relationship with the stripper, saying she has given certain male writers "an amped-up version" of her past. "They’re boys; they’re easily toyed with," she said. "I tell stories and have them eating out of my hand. Not all of it is true. In fact, most of it is bullshit." Fox said, "I never said she was my girlfriend! I just said that I loved her, and I did love her. The real story is more sobering. It’s not a sexy, fun-time, fantasy story. But that’s not the story you tell GQ."
Fox has additionally been open about her insecurities, and self-harming. She also acknowledges that she has low self-esteem:
“ Yeah. But I don't want to elaborate. I would never call myself a cutter. Girls go through different phases when they're growing up, when they're miserable and do different things, whether it's an eating disorder or they dabble in cutting. I'm really insecure about everything. I see what I look like, but there are things that I like and things that I dislike. My hair is good. The color of my eyes is good, obviously. I'm too short. But overall, I'm not super excited about the whole thing. I never think I'm worthy of anything... I have a sick feeling of being mocked all the time. I have a lot of self-loathing. Self-loathing doesn't keep me from being happy. But that doesn't mean I don't struggle. I am very vulnerable. But I can be aggressive, hurtful, domineering and selfish, too. I'm emotionally unpredictable and all over the place. I'm a control freak.”
Further, Fox has a fear of flying; she said she developed this about the time she turned 20. She has had to come up with ways to deal with it in order to avoid having panic attacks when getting onto a plane, most notably by listening to Britney Spears songs. In addition, she has expressed a distrust of "all boys-slash-men". "I just don’t like them or trust them," stated Fox.

In 2007, she competed in the Miss California USA 2008 pageant and initially placed third runner-up; later a judging error was discovered and she was promoted to first runner-up.
Prejean returned the following year and won the Miss California USA 2009 title, succeeding Raquel Beezley as California's representative to the Miss USA pageant. Prejean competed at the nationally televised Miss USA 2009 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 19, 2009, and placed first runner-up. Prejean's answer to her final question during the pageant became the subject of controversy.
Miss USA 2009 controversy

Prejean received nationwide attention over her response to a question about same-sex marriage during the 2009 Miss USA pageant. Prejean was asked by pageant judge Perez Hilton, who is gay, whether she believed every U.S. state should legalize same-sex marriage. She responded,
“ Well I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one way or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And, you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anybody out there. But that’s how I was raised and I believe that it should be between a man and a woman. ”
The media attention intensified after Hilton posted a video blog on his website, and made comments there and elsewhere, disparaging Prejean and her answer to the question. Hilton called her a "dumb bitch" and stated: "She gave an awful, awful answer that alienated so many people." He also told ABC News that she lost the crown because of how she answered the question. Prejean has also stated that she believes that her answer cost her the crown. Of that moment, Prejean has written,
“ I was being dared — in front of the entire world — to give a candid answer to a serious question. I knew if I told the truth, I would lose all that I was competing for: the crown, the luxury apartment in New York City, the large salary — everything that went with the Miss USA title. I also knew, or suspected, that I was the frontrunner, and if I gritted my teeth and gave the politically correct answer, I could be Miss USA. ”
Prejean stated that she was told by Miss California USA pageant officials that she "need to not talk about" her faith and was pressured to apologize for her statement.
Donald Trump, who owns most of the Miss Universe Organization, defended Prejean's answer, saying that "Miss California has done a wonderful job" and that "It wasn't a bad answer, that was simply her belief." He then added that the question was "a bit unlucky" and that no matter which way she answered the question "she was going to get killed". Several elected officials, including Gavin Newsom, mayor of San Francisco and a prominent supporter of same-sex marriage, and political pundits criticized Hilton and defended Prejean for honestly stating her personal beliefs. The New York Times reports her beliefs are representative of mainstream U.S. opinion on the issue, stating "while a majority of Americans believe that gay couples should be able to enter into unions with some of the legal protections of marriage," only "a minority believe that gays and lesbians should be permitted to 'marry,' per se.".
Post-Miss USA Pageant
Later, the National Organization for Marriage used footage from the pageant for a television advertisement that warned that same-sex marriage activists wanted to silence opposition. Prejean also hired a Christian public relations firm. In late April, Prejean presented an award at the Gospel Music Association's 2009 Dove Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. Prejean also spoke at Liberty University's final convocation of the year on April 29, 2009.
On May 1, Prejean stated on On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren that she did not have an opinion on civil unions for same-sex couples, but that she supports certain rights of same-sex couples, such as hospital visitations. She has stated that she would be willing to meet with representatives from California's largest gay rights group "as long as it's not political".
Contract termination
Pageant organizers investigated Prejean for violating the terms of her contract after a photograph of Prejean partially nude with her back turned to the camera appeared on a celebrity gossip blog. Prejean defended the shots as legitimate modeling, and Miss USA owner Donald Trump agreed, stating, "We are in the 21st century. We have determined the pictures taken are fine" and that "in some cases the pictures were lovely." Trump went on to compare Prejean's views on same sex-marriage as being in line with those of President Barack Obama, and National Organization for Marriage president Maggie Gallagher stated on May 5 that the release would not affect Prejean's role with her group.
Despite his initial support, Trump agreed to terminate Prejean's contract on June 10, 2009, citing "continued breach of contract issues." Prejean claimed that K2 Productions, producers of the Miss California USA pageant, wanted her to pose for Playboy and appear on the reality television show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me out of Here!, though K2 Productions executive Keith Lewis claimed he was simply notifying Prejean of all offers for appearances. In August, 2009, Prejean sued Miss California USA officials on a variety of civil grounds, including libel and the unauthorized release of private medical records. K2 Productions and pageant officials filed counterclaims seeking the profits from Prejean's forthcoming book, which it claims was written in violation of the Miss California USA contract, and the return of $5200 loaned to Prejean for breast implants. On November 3, 2009, Prejean and K2 announced a settlement with undisclosed terms, with both sides dropping their lawsuits. CNN subsequently reported that Prejean's settlement with Miss California USA officials was driven by the discovery of a sexually-oriented videotape featuring Prejean, who appeared alone.
Still Standing
In November 2009, Prejean released a memoir titled Still Standing: The Untold Story of My Fight Against Gossip, Hate, and Political Attacks through Regnery Publishing. The book explores what Prejean believes were unfair attacks by "the liberal media" and "a vindictive smear campaign" from Hollywood, while also focusing on her conservative values. In a widely-discussed incident that occurred while promoting the book, Prejean threatened to leave the set during an interview on Larry King Live, after King pressed her for her reasons for the settlement of her lawsuit with the Miss California USA pageant, calling the host "inappropriate". The book, which contains a foreword by Fox News commentator Sean Hannity, was also recommended by media personalities Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh.

In high school, she took dance classes, voice lessons, piano lessons, and gymnastics. She joined the cheerleading squad of her Clearwater, Florida school, Clearwater Central Catholic, in her freshman year. Hogan graduated from high school at the age of sixteen.
Career
Music
Hogan was signed to Trans Continental Records in 2002.[Some early music was produced with the help of Rich Cronin. Her first song in the United States singles charts was "Everything to Me". Produced and written by Shep Goodman and Kenny Gioia as part of her album This Voice, the single was released in July 2004. It appeared at #97 on the Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot 100 Singles Sales, but dropped off the chart in a few weeks. The album was planned for release September 21, 2004, but this never happened. Hogan opened for Hilary Duff in support of her unreleased debut. She sang the national anthems before Game 7 of the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals on June 7, 2004. During this time manager Larry Rudolph helped her rise to fame as well as work on her debut album.
In 2006, Hogan changed record labels and became the first artist signed to Scott Storch's label, initially called Storchaveli Records, but later named Storch Music Company. She also signed with SoBe Entertainment. Hogan's first single, "About Us", premiered on the season two finale of Hogan Knows Best. The album, Undiscovered, was released October 24, 2006. The album debuted at #28 on the Billboard 200, selling 30,000 copies in its first week. The album went on to sell 127,000 copies. In 2006 Hogan won a Teen Choice Award for Best Choice Grill for the music video for "About Us".
In December 2006, Hogan began working on new material but stated that she was only doing this for fun. Then in January 2007, her label decided that they would re-release her debut album the next month. Hogan decided not to and opted to record her second album. By August 2007, Hogan confirmed that she would be departing from one of her labels, SMC, and soon confirmed that she had signed a dual contract with SoBe Entertainment and Fontana Records and was at work on her second album. The album was released in July 2009. Hogan stated that the second season of Brooke Knows Best would premiere around the same time of the album's release.
On March 31, 2009, she released the lead single from her second album, "Falling", featuring Stacks. She revealed during a visit to Power 96 in March that the name of her second album would be The Redemption. Hogan later stated the album was due for a June 30, 2009 release, and that the second single would be released on June 9 and would be "Hey Yo!". The second single was later released on June 30, 2009 instead and the album was announced for a July 21, 2009 release. The album was released to mixed reviews and sold 3,381 copies in its first week, debuting at #144 on the Billboard 200.
She was released from her four year contract with SoBe Entertainment a year early after the promotion for the album concluded. She is now only signed to Fontana Records. To date, she is the only artist signed to the label.
On November 10, 2009, Brooke Hogan released a new song 'User Friendly' on her youtube account, BrookeStarTV.
Hogan announced on Brooke Knows Best that she moved to Los Angeles, California. In the newest season she will begin recording her third studio album with a targeted release of Spring 2010, and will be a more Pop sounding record.
Acting
Hogan appeared with her father in an hour-long profile on VH1, (Inside) Out: Hulk Hogan, Stage Dad. The success of this special spawned an entire series. Hogan Knows Best debuted in July 2005 and was the highest-rated series premiere in VH1's network history. The series, which helped her become a household name, was according to Hulk Hogan intended in part to promote Brooke's music career.
Hogan Knows Best presented her father as strict with her dating. On the show, Hulk placed a GPS tracker on Brooke's vehicle that enables him to track her whereabouts and can even remotely shut down the engine of his daughter's car if he feels the need to do so. However, Brooke said in a later interview that her father loosened up after her eighteenth birthday.
Hogan appeared as a panel judge in America's Prom Queen in early 2008. A spin-off series of Hogan Knows Best called Brooke Knows Best premiered on July 13, 2008 on VH1. Two seasons have aired.
Hogan will be making her film debuts in two films in 2009 including the Indie Horror film Devour alongside Kelly Osbourne and in the animated film Little Hercules in Disney Digital 3-D.

Modeling
Hogan appeared in the November 2006 edition of FHM, becoming the first FHM Cover Model under 21-years-old. As a result, the November issue had no liquor advertising: "In the very rare instance that you might have a cover star under the age of 21, they don't want to be in the position of seeming to market to anyone under age."
Wrestling
Hogan made a special appearance with her father on Saturday Night's Main Event on July 15, 2006, shortly before the release of her first album. On the program, her father was challenged to a match by Randy Orton at SummerSlam, who had previously mentioned Brooke in a sexual manner on WWE television.
In January 2010, Hogan appeared on TNA Impact! and at Final Resolution in support of her father, who was making his first appearances with the company. Hogan was in attendance on the Monday March 8 edition of Impact! before her father faced Ric Flair and A.J. Styles.

Her single "Smile" reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in July 2006. In December 2006, her debut album Alright, Still was voted the third best album of the year by Mixmag. In 2007, it was nominated for the award of Best British Album at the BRIT Awards and for Best New Artist at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. The album was nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award in the category of "Best Alternative Music Album". Alright, Still has sold over 2,600,000 copies worldwide.
A second album entitled It's Not Me, It's You will be released in the UK and United States in February 2009.
Allen's non-career activities have been the subject of extensive press coverage in both in the tabloid and mainstream media. In 2006 and 2007 Allen made comments critical of other musicians. 2008 saw public incidents that were described as rude, embarrassing or alcohol-fuelled. Allen used her MySpace blog to criticize press coverage and defend and criticize her own behaviour.
Childhood and discovery
Allen was born in Hammersmith, west London, daughter of Welsh-born comedian Keith Allen and English film producer Alison Owen. She and her family eventually settled in the North London borough of Islington. She has an older sister, Sarah; a younger brother, Alfie Owen-Allen (who was the subject of her song "Alfie"); and a younger sister Rebecca. She also has a number of half-siblings. Lily Allen lived for a while with comedian Harry Enfield while her mother dated him. She is the god-daughter of Wild Colonials vocalist Angela McCluskey and is also the god-daughter of late Clash singer.
In 1988, at the age of 3, Allen appeared on The Comic Strip Presents... episode "The Yob", which her father had co-written. When Allen was four years old, her father left the family. Allen claims to have grown up with her mother in a working class environment, living in a council house environment for most of her childhood. This seems at odds with the fact that she attended some of the UK's costliest public schools; Allen attended 13 schools in all, including Prince Charles's junior alma mater, Hill House School, Millfield and Bedales School, and was expelled from several of them for drinking, and smoking.
Allen told Loveline that at age 11 she was singing an Oasis tune in the schoolyard when a teacher overheard her and told her she had talent and suggested she do something with it. She took singing lessons with the teacher. She sang at a school play and claimed that the audience was brought to tears at the sight of a troubled young girl doing something good. At that point Allen said she knew that music was something she needed to do either as a lifelong vocation or to get it out of her system. Allen played piano in grade 5 and in grade 8 she sang, played violin, guitar, and trumpet as well as being a member of a chamber choir. Her first solo was Bleak Midwinter. According to The Sunday Times the only school that seemed to have a positive impact on her was Cavendish an all-girl Catholic school located in Camden Town. At Cavandish Allen played a boy in a production of The Railway Children and sang Baby Mine in Dumbo.
At the age of 17 Allen became a member of the Groucho Club and in her free time, she listened to artists such as The Specials, T.Rex, and Happy Mondays.
Allen made an appearance as a lady-in-waiting in the 1998 film Elizabeth, co-produced by her mother, Alison Owen. She dropped out of school at age fifteen, not wanting to "spend a third of her life preparing to work for the next third of her life, to set herself up with a pension for the next third of her life." After her family went to Ibiza on holiday Allen told her mother that she was staying with friends but remained in Sant Antoni de Portmany instead. She earned money by working at a Plastic Fantastic record store and dealing in ecstasy.
The late Clash guitarist Joe Strummer is referred to as Allen's godfather. While this is not literally true Strummer was close to and mentored Allen.
Music career
Record label interest
Allen met her first manager, George Lamb, in Ibiza when he saved her from several assailants and sent her home. Allen was rejected by several labels, which she attributed to her drinking and being the daughter of Keith Allen. Lily eventually used her father's connections to get signed to London Records a part of the Warner Music in 2002. When the executive who had signed her left, the label lost interest and she left without releasing the folk songs many of whom were written by her father.
Allen studied horticulture with the intent of becoming a florist, but changed her mind and returned to music. She began writing songs, and her manager introduced her to production duo Future Cut in 2004. They worked in a small studio in the basement of an office building. In 2005 Allen was signed to Regal Records; they gave her £25,000 to produce an album, though they were unable to provide much support for it due to their preoccupation with other releases such as Coldplay's X&Y and Gorillaz' Demon Days.
Popularity on MySpace
Allen created an account on MySpace and began posting demos in November 2005. The demos attracted thousands of listeners, and 500 limited edition 7" vinyl singles of "LDN" were rush-released, reselling for as much as £40. Allen also produced two mixtapes — My First Mixtape and My Second Mixtape — to promote her work: they included tracks by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Dizzee Rascal, and Ludacris. As she accumulated tens of thousands of MySpace friends, The Observer Music Monthly (OMM), a magazine published in The Observer, took interest. Few people outside of her label's A&R department knew who she was, so the label was slow in responding to publications wanting to report about her.
In March 2006, OMM included an article about Allen's success through MySpace, and she received her first major mainstream coverage appearing in the magazine's cover story two months later. The success of her songs convinced her label to allow her more creative control over the album and to use some of the songs that she had written instead of attempts to work with mainstream producers. Allen decided to work with producers Greg Kurstin and Mark Ronson, finishing the rest of the album in two weeks.
The social networking site was the primary hub for messages of support and condolence following her January 2008 miscarriage. Allen received a 2008 NME Award nomination for the category of "Best Band Blog". As of 25 April, 2008 Allen's songs have been downloaded from her MySpace page 19 million times. She currently has 474863 friends on her MySpace page.
As of December 2008 Allen had 462,159 MySpace friends making her the fifth most popular musical act of the year according to the social networking site.
Alright, Still
Allen's debut album, Alright, Still, was released as a limited-edition 12" vinyl in the UK on 3 July 2006; the full CD release followed in the UK and the rest of Europe on 17 July 2006. The album features between 11 and 14 tracks (depending on the copy of the CD), most of which were previewed on her MySpace page, including the single Smile (the first song she ever wrote with Future Cut), "LDN", "Knock 'Em Out", and "Alfie". "Friday Night", co-written with Jonny Bull, is also included, alongside "Littlest Things", produced by Mark Ronson which among other works earned Ronson a "Producer of the Year - Non Classical" 2008 Grammy Award. The album was released on 30 January 2007 in the United States, landing at the #20 position on the Billboard Album Charts. Allen won a 2008 BMI songwriting award for Smile.
In September 2006, Smile was made available on the United States version of Apple Inc.'s iTunes Store. By December 2006, her music video for Smile had been played on various music channels as well as the song getting a little airplay. She also did several promotional ads for MTV as their Discover and Download artist of the month for January 2007.
On the week ending on 28 January 2007, British artists made chart history taking all Top 10 places in the Official UK Albums chart for the first time since the chart was established in 1956, according to British record labels trade association the BPI, the album Alright, Still was number nine that week.
Entertainment Weekly named Alright, Still as one of the top 10 albums of 2006 despite the fact that it had not yet been released in the U.S. The album was released in the United States on 30 January 2007, with Smile serviced to radio in January as the first single. The U.S. version contains three additional tracks: "Nan, You're A Window Shopper", "Blank Expression" (on the iTunes version) and a new remix of Smile by Mark Ronson.
On 5 March 2007 "Alfie" was released. It reached #15 in the UK Singles-Chart. Upon hearing this song, her brother Alfie threw her laptop out of a window in revenge. She sang on the Mark Ronson-produced Kaiser Chiefs song "Oh My God".
By January 2009 the album had sold 960,000 copies in the United Kingdom and 520,000 copies in the United States.
Allen cringes when she listens to this album because it reminds her that she was "sort of over-excitable teenager who desperately wanted attention." when she wrote it
It's Not Me, It's You
In April 2008 Allen said she was heading in a "new direction". She posted two new song demos on her MySpace page and plans to release a mixtape shortly to give her fans an idea of what the new direction is. Allen said the new direction was undertaken because "I did a retro thing last time, And since I did that, a lot of other people did it too. I wanted to separate myself from the group and move forward". That is the reason why Allen did not use Mark Ronson for It's Not Me, It's You.
Allen has posted on her MySpace page a partial clip of a song that was eventually entitled "Fuck You" which is on the album. The song was originally written about The British National Party but ended up being about George W. Bush.
As of 19 August there has been between 250,000 and one million plays for each song from the album that she has made available to listen to on her MySpace page.
The album is scheduled for release on 9 February 2009 in the United Kingdom and the following day in the United States. "The Fear", the first single from album will was released digitally on 9 December, 2008 and released to CD on 26 January, 2009. It was expected to debut at number one. The video for the single was released 4 December. Three weeks before its release the single was in top 20 on Nielsen Music Control's U.K. Radio Airplay. In the United States on 12 January the single was scheduled to be "worked" to Triple A Radio formats then Top 40. The songs is based on Allen’s fear that the world will become a sterile place where everything is sponsored. The single is described as an electropop track that discusses celebrity culture.
At the urging of her record company Allen tried unsuccessfully to create the album with several writers and producers. Allen eventually returned to Greg Kurstin who had written three songs for Alright, Still. The album was produced by Kurstin at Eagle Rock Studios in Los Angeles. before returning to Kus Allen co-wrote the songs for the album with Kurstin at who played piano on it. This is a change from her earlier work in which she just wrote lyrics for finished tracks. Allen released a statement saying "We decided to try and make bigger sounding, more ethereal songs, real songs,","I wanted to work with one person from start to finish to make it one body of work. I wanted it to feel like it had some sort of integrity. I think I've grown up a bit as a person and I hope it reflects that."
Other songs on the album include "He Wasn't There" a letter to her father one of three songs about immediate family members. "Him" is about God and includes her favourite line on the record: "Do you think he's ever been suicidal?/ His favourite band is Creedence Clearwater Revival". "Not Fair" a humorous song about a lazy lover that includes the lyrics "feeling pretty damn hard done by, I spent ages giving head". Allen has played the song to the person in question and he did not realize the song was about him. "22" was written about a specific person but ended up as a more general song about females who rely on their looks and find at age 30 according to Allen “it hits them that they're not doing anything with their lives and it's too late". "Who'd of Known" is a rip off of the Take That song "Shine". Take That allowed Allen to use the song on the album but did not accept an offer to sing with and do a video with Allen. Chinese references takeout food.
On 23 October Allen released "Everyones At It" the first track from the album for download on her MySpace page. The song appears to be a commentary on the drug culture and is expected to cause controversy. It includes the lyrics " "I'm not trying to say that I'm smelling of roses but when will we tire of putting shit up our noses","It's meant to be fun and this just doesn't feel right","So you've got a prescription, and that makes it legal. I find those excuses overwhelmingly feeble… The kids are in danger, they're all getting hurt. From what I can see, everyone's at it.".
An online game Escape the Fear has been created by Matmi as part of the viral marketing campaign targeted at people unaware of Allen or the album. Players playing the role of Allen must go through a series of obstacles standing in the way of Allen's dreams.
Music business issues
Since the release of her first album her record company EMI was taken over by Terra Firma. and her management company Empire Artist Management has been replaced by Twenty-First Artists although her core team has remained in place. It's Not Me, It's You was first scheduled for an early 2008 release but her miscarriage and creative issues delayed the release date to the fall. During the fall of 2008 EMI was undergoing layoffs and cost cutting. This lead to situation where according Allen "Everyone is terrified of losing their jobs. So no one wants to make decisions or give you their opinion in case it comes back on them. As an artist, that really is terrifying." Due to this negative environment a decision with Allen's full approval was made to move the albums release to its current February 2009 date."
Allen receives most of her music related income from touring and spin off deals. She receives no income from sales.
Collaborations
Allen provided backing vocals on the Basement Jaxx song "Lights Go Down" (from Crazy Itch Radio) and appears on tracks on Robbie Williams's latest album, Rudebox on the Manu Chao-cover "Bongo Bong and Je Ne T'Aime Plus" (produced by Mark Ronson) and also on "Keep On". Allen and New Young Pony Club provided backing vocals to the song "Never Miss a Beat" that appears on the Kaiser Chiefs' album Off With Their Heads. The song was released as a single on 6 October, 2008. Allen's voice on the song was described as unrecognizable due to Mark Ronson's production. On 12 October the song entered the UK Singles charts at number 5. The album was released on the 13 October. Allen was expected to provide vocals for the track "Always Happens like That".

On 12 December 2008 Mark Ronson debuted Allen's cover version of Britney Spears's song Womanizer on his radio show. Allen in her MySpace blog said Ronson was supposed to "talk all over it so it wouldn't get ripped". Instead Ronson played the song in its entirety and the cover within days had been heard worldwide causing Allen to get into "serious trouble" with her label.
Touring
In 2007, she played the newly launched Park Stage at the Glastonbury Festival, replacing M.I.A who had cancelled. Saying "it's big shoes to fill, and we're doing it acoustically so it might sound a bit funny" she ended her set singing a cover of Blondie's "Heart of Glass." Allen describes this performence as the highlight of the 2006-2008 period In concert, Allen performed a parody of 50 Cent's "Window Shopper", called "Nan, You're a Window Shopper", which was commercially released as a B-side to "LDN", because approval was not given in time for the Alright, Still release. Nonetheless, the song appears on the U.S. version of Alright, Still.
Allen performed to positive reviews when Irving Plaza was rechristened as The Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza on 11 April 2007.
Allen canceled a scheduled appearance at the 2008 Isle of Wight Festival telling festival promoter John Giddings the reason for the cancellation was that her album was behind schedule. Giddings said that the reason given was not acceptable and possibly a lie. Giddings decided not to sue her.
On 29 June 2008 Allen performed at the Glastonbury Festival alongside producer Mark Ronson. An emotional Allen dedicated her performance of "Littlest Things" to her grandmother who died the night before. On 3 July in a surprise appearance with Ronson at the Wireless Festival Allen again appeared with Ronson to perform "Littlest Things" and "Oh My God". She forgot some song lyrics.

The show received a 2% share of the total multi-channel audience share despite a high-profile nationwide marketing campaign. Her third show received a 2.7% share. Allen was quoted in a British tabloid as rating the show "probably five out of 10” and said "I made a lot of money out of it".
On 1 April 2008 citing Allen's rapid development as a TV host and her popularity among its target audience BBC Three announced it was renewing Lily Allen and Friends for a second season. On 12 January 2009 BBC Three chairman Danny Cohen said that the show will not air in the Spring of 2009 as originally scheduled because of music commitments. Cohen noted ""She is on the record as doing a second series and we are looking forward to having her back but we don't know at the moment."
The BBC was criticized by several teacher unions for a video shown on “Lily Allen and Friends” that apparently showed a student running up from behind and pulling down his teachers trousers. The unions said broadcasting this clip was irresponsible and greatly added to the teacher's embarrassment. While introducing the clip Allen called it kegging and said “It's very childish, but very funny”.
Performances
Allen performed for Jools Holland's Hootenanny his 2008 New Years Eve Show.
Personal life
In a May 2007 MySpace blog Allen wrote that she was "fat, ugly and shitter than Winehouse". While there were many replies of support she was publicly called ugly which led to her feeling bad which lasted several hours.
In her blog, Allen blamed the paparazzi for smashing the windows of her car. She wrote that her friend was cut when she sat in the car and that she was angered and upset by what she called a scary situation.
Allen's bedroom is decorated with paintings by Damien Hirst and Paul Simonon who was a member of the iconic punk rock group The Clash.

She denied specific reports about her relationships and behaviour as well as negative characterizations of her personality. She confirmed she likes to swim topless and drink saying this is not embarrassing behaviour for a 23 year old. She said the reporting was sexist and that sometimes she wonders if the journalists are still living in the 1950s.
A man described as a close friend of Allen's and another male were allegedly kidnapped in August 2008 for extortion and held for a week before being rescued by Metropolitan Police. Three men pleaded not guilty to various charges related to the incident on 27 November. Allen thanked the police and gave details of the plot at the 2008 GQ Awards. Former Scotland Yard chief John O'Connor called Allen's releasing the details of the alleged plot "outrageous" saying it may jeopardise the case. The friend involved is also alleged to be upset with Allen's revelations.
Allen was cautioned for common assault in March 2007 after an altercation with the paparazzi. A blown up framed copy of the caution is hung in her residence. The following August Allen was detained at Los Angeles International Airport for five hours and questioned over the incident. At that time her U.S. visa was revoked. On 8 October, 2008 her visa was reinstated.
Physical and mental health
Allen was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease as an infant. According to the singers mother the disease caused Allen to be in constant pain and caused breathing troubles. Her heartbeat was at 180 beats per minute at rest.
As a teenager, Allen spent four weeks at The Priory clinic under 24 hour watch after the singer, distraught over a breakup with her first boyfriend for whom the song Smile was written about, took an overdose and tried to cut her wrists.
In November 2007, the singer revealed that she has been diagnosed with a heart murmur. The singer sparked concern when she shed 19lbs (8.6kg) and dropped from a UK size 12 to a size eight in just six weeks. Allen explained the weight loss on cutting back on the "crap" she eats and going to the gym three times a week to do a "hardcore routine" as a reaction to the diagnosis.
On the 16 January, 2008 she suffered a miscarriage after returning from holiday with the father, Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers. The child would have been the first for both parties. Allen said that her miscarriage was "toughest thing I've had to go through in my life" and that it put her in a "very, very dark place". Following the miscarriage Allen spent three weeks in a psychiatric clinic. Allen was quoted as saying that attending counseling sessions with a therapist has been very helpful for her. While she was in the clinic Allen lost her position as a jurist for the Orange Prize for Fiction. Although the organization said she resigned Allen claims she was fired for not attending meetings.
Allen in January 2009 told Billboard Magazine "As soon as I feel remotely depressed I'm checked into a clinic and having intensive therapy".
Allen confirmed she has used hypnosis to try to lose weight.
Relationships
Allen dated Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers from September 2007 until early 2008. They broke up shortly after Allen suffered her miscarriage.
Allen claims her romantic and sexual life has been inhibited by her fame. If she has someone over to her residence she is paranoid about exiting the residence with him because after being photographed by the paparazzi she has to “justify” a relationship that is not yet understood. When Allen meets a person who is not in show business she wonders "Are they going to walk out of here and be straight on their phone?". Another fear is that the other party is in the relationship for the purpose of getting his picture taken with Allen.
In December 2008 Allen was quoted in a British tabloid as saying "What I really want out of my life is to have children". Allen was also quoted as saying despite enjoying her music career she "certainly wouldn’t want" to mix her music career and motherhood.

As of 7 December, 2008 Allen had not consumed alcohol since September of that year.
Religion
Allen who as a child went to Catholic School was quoted as saying that she did not "like Christianity much” because of its stances opposing homosexuality, adultery, and drug usage. Due to her outspokenness, Allen has been the subject of many controversies. Disparaging remarks about musicians Luke Pritchard of The Kooks, Bob Geldof, Cheryl Cole of Girls Aloud, Amy Winehouse,Kylie Minogue and Katy Perry have all garnered minor amounts of press attention. She later expressed that making fun of other pop stars were a result of lack of confidence saying "I felt like 'Oh God, I'm short, fat, ugly and I hate all these people who flaunt their beauty'." Photos of her drunk and topless in the Cannes Film Festival were also widely covered in the press. Her appearance at the 2008 Glamour Awards of the Year also generated criticism, as she showed up intoxicated with a dress depicting decapitated Bambi figures, and had an on-stage, expletively-laced exchange with Elton John. Allen has shown her third nipple on television. Allen feels like she has become a drunk character in a comic. “I wish my comic character wasn't that, but there's nothing can I do”.
The singers father Keith Allen has told Allen that "she needs to know when to fucking shut up."

Both songs were then parodied by Chris Moyles on his Radio 1 breakfast show in a song called "Piles". "LDN" has spawned an answer song by rapper Sway DaSafo and a remix by UK grime artist JME.
Evening Standard columnist Nick Cutis wrote that "Lily Allen and Madonna have arguably done more for female equality with their "unladylike" swearing in public than with their singing careers."
Allen in an interview with Word Magazine said the press reports only the negative aspects of drug use saying "I know lots of people that take cocaine three nights a week and get up and go to work everyday, no problem at all." British Shadow Home Secretary Dominic Grieve called Allen's comments naive saying "There is no doubt that drugs fuel crime and wreck lives." David Haynes head of the British National Drug Prevention Alliance said Allen's remarks cause harm to young people by affecting an already major drug culture. Her spokesperson responding to the criticism said that Allen does not condone drug use and never said in the interview that she condones drug use or thinks it is a good thing. The spokesperson said Allen sympathizes with those affected by drugs and notes when Allen spots signs of people on drugs it terrifies her.

After losing a tennis match to Serena Williams on May 25, 2008 at the French Open, Ashley told reporters she would appear in the August 2008 issue of Playboy, a decision she made while convalescing from ovarian cyst surgery in March, 2008. In an on the air interview, broadcast during the 2008 Wimbledon Championships, Ashley stated that Amanda Beard's 2007 pictorial was partly an inspiration for her own, but that her own layout was more risqué, presumably referring to the fact that her layout depicted full nudity, including pubic hair, while Beard's did not. She later appeared as the cover girl of the magazine, as well as in a four page full frontal nude pictorial, thus becoming the first professional tennis player after Vanessa Menga (Playboy Brazil 2001) to grace the pages of Playboy.
